Here's my issue: The baristas are rude as hell and actively ignore you even when you are attempting *politely* to get their attention (e.g. quiet eye contact, not "HEY EXCUSE ME"). Even during off-hours while people aren't lining up out the door, they act as if you are an imposition. Baristas: get a grip. I work a counter service food job (for over five years) where I am cashier, cook and porter making less than minimum wage and I still don't act like y'all. Did I mention I am burnt-out beyond belief? Either I'm a superhero or y'all need an attitude adjustment - I think I know the answer. I tip $2 on a $6 coffee (33%!), be cordial. Now I have anxiety and don't feel safe to order here. I just wanted to get something to eat. I don't want to go to a place where I have to worry about being misinterpreted, discriminated against or shamed for my speech. I felt unsafe and feared being served here. I have a disability and an accent and didn't want to risk being misinterpreted or judged, so I left. I never felt so uncomfortable in a place like this before. Thank goodness I left before trying to place an order. I don't want any potential conflict when trying to support a local business while spending my hard earned money

I read the menu online and was going to order the "New School" breakfast sandwich. Southside Coffee is an order only spot. There's no inside dining. If it's raining? Bring an umbrella while you wait. I walk up to the window and I order a large latte and I feel the words coming out of my mouth as a say: Old School Breakfast Sandwich... My order came out pretty quickly. This bacon & egg sandwich is made on Italian bread with kale. Why. Why! The sandwich comes to me, too many eggs, hardly any bacon and the Italian bread was stale. Great coffee! I'm old school but in this case, I'm going New School next time.

Some of the staff are genuinely excellent, but the ones who aren't completely ruin the place. The rude employees are shockingly unpleasant--attitude for no reason, short responses, and zero sense of customer service. It's honestly unbelievable that they think this is acceptable. My iced coffee was barely filled, and when I asked for more--because for $6 I expect a full cup, not a half-hearted pour--I was met with attitude instead of a simple fix. No customer should feel like they're inconveniencing someone just by asking for what they paid for. They get away with this behavior because they're the only shop on 6th Ave for a stretch, and it shows. This kind of mediocrity and rudeness is exactly why people hesitate to support local businesses. If they didn't have a monopoly on the area, I doubt they'd survive a week running things this way. Overall, extremely disappointing. If you want decent service or even a full cup of coffee, look elsewhere. The pastries are inconsistent. The only good thing worth coming here for is the peppermint brownie, which is different depending on the day that you buy it I think what makes it taste so good is it taste like it's out of the box

That keeps people from overstaying and helps those that want to grab a coffee and chat for a bit. CA should definitely start doing that. Most coffee shops have no tables due to everyone staying for an extended time. I got the basil lemonade that is seasonal. It was interesting to say the least. Wasn't a huge fan but was refreshing. Sad that we went after having a meal. Their food looked delicious. Next time when in NY, going to try and stop by to get some of their food.

Unfortunately we should have not listened to them. What we ordered: - 2 matcha lattes with vanilla syrup - 1 chai latte - Avocado toast (whole order) - Roast Chicken Sandwich The matcha lattes were purely just milk. You can tell by the photo that the "matcha" was not very concentrated at all. Honestly the vanilla couldn't even help it. I did not finish my drink even though I tried. In one of the matchas they left a piece of the bamboo matcha whisk. The toast for the avocado toast was very tough to eat and cut, especially the crust area. The chicken sandwich was their one redeeming item, very tasty and fresh. I will not return and won't be recommending.

This work we were doing was outside and I was glad to be wearing the thermals that day. So into Little Roy Coffee we went and I had to say that the overall vibe of the place appealed to me. In the front were several tables and people were working on their laptops so I am assuming that there was some kind of complimentary Wi-Fi signal to partake in. The counter itself was sizable and had some snacks for customers to purchase as well but for me it was all about a simple cup of coffee. The staffer served me quickly and this made sense since all I was getting was a regular coffee. No macha docka swirling cinnamon essence with mint leaves and such. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. The station for sugars was off to the side so I prepped mine to spec and moved along over to the work site. This seemed like a good place to chill and have some conversation with friends or colleagues and since the coffee hit the spot for me on this super cold winter day they got a Yelp out of my all too brief experience. Hey one can always use an additional Yelp review on their profile and I love sharing photos from pretty much everywhere I go. Thanks for a good experience Little Roy, I can't say if I will ever be back here as the Little Caribbean is not an area that I frequent at all but you did good and others should know this.
