This place has been around for a long time. They have outdoor seating and free parking. I got a junior size soft pistachio cone and it was delicious. It looks small in the picture because I was too excited and took a few bites. Junior size is definitely good enough to satisfy a craving. Would def come back here the next time I crave some carvel. After many months of delays, Carvel finally opened at the corner of Coney Island Avenue and Foster Avenue. I stopped in today and despite the temperature dropping by the minute, the place was mobbed. The store is clean, bright and the staff seemed to be friendly and efficient though if they stay as busy as they were today, they will need to hire more help! Like other stores in the chain, they have weekday specials (see photo I posted) and they told me that they might expand their current hours (10 AM-10 PM) during the summer months. The ice cream was good yes... but customer service was terrible. I went here with my friend and they got ice cream specifically Coffee and strawberry shortcake (I think) and we get our ice cream dip and then a few minutes later theres a fly in their ice cream. I know it didn't fly in there cause it was lodged into the ice cream just got uncovered and when I went back to get a new ife cream I showed the worker the fly and he said "No thats a sprinkle" Im pretty sure sprinkles aren't grey and dont have legs and eyes but okay I did get the new ice cream cause I pointed out that sprinkles ARENT GREY AND DONT HAVE LEGS and I didn't have to pay for it, which was good. But also he dropped my friends change onto the counter and they had to pick it up, he did his job so slow too. Imagine tryna gaslight your customer into thinking a fly is a sprinkle? Crazy. Went there yesterday because of two reasons; first the weather was perfect for an cold and creamy afternoon shake and second I have been craving it for a while. This place has yet to disappoint me and hopefully it doesn't lol. The customer service was very good, the guy who took my order was very attentive in making the order. The only issue that I noticed afterward is that I order four small thick shakes one oreo for my sister and another oreo for my wife , one chocolate for me and one vanilla for my sweet mother. Instead of the Vailla, I received the Starwberry which I didn't realize until I got home. Thankfully though my loved the strawberry shake and seeing her happy made me satisfied. I will give the guy taking my order benefit of the doubt since he has 15 Large thick shake strawberry orders that maybe he forgot about Vanilla and gave me berry instead. No worries, it happens. I visited this Carvel today during a slow period. Although was only one person ahead of me, it took way too long to get served. My relatively simple order of two small soft serves seemed a gargantuan task for the clerk. Initially, the clerk said she couldn't make change of a twenty. I said it's all I had, which required going to the back room to dig up the necessary change. Said clerk barely said a word during the entire time I was there, didn't greet me nor thank me for my business. We've been going to this Carvel for a long time, but recently the service has become subpar. The owner is rude and doesn't believe in customer service; team always makes mistakes. They either over charge you or double charge you or make a mistake on your order. And never do they admit their mistake or try to resolve it. Customer is always wrong. read more
