He proceeded to tell me he doesn't have change but that i should as customer have my own change. That I should accommodate him by bringing my own change. During these uncertain times, we all want a bit of comfort. I think that's why carvel is an essential part of my life these days. I'm so glad there are many locations in Brooklyn. I ordered the 6-pk flying saucers ($14.99+ tax) through ubereats for pick up. This carvel location was the only one that had pistachio and strawberry flavors rather than their usual (vanilla + chocolate). Only downside was I had to get my order myself and reach in the freezer. I say this because I didn't sanitize my hands and I didn't feel comfortable just digging in to get what I ordered PRIOR to arrival. With covid-19, I think businesses should keep contact as minimal as possible. I hope going forward, orders are prepacked and ready to given to the customer. The guys there were nice overall so 4*. Btw, they only allow 2 people each time so be advised. Everyone should still practice social distancing even after the lockdown is lifted. read more

Decided to come here because we found some coupons that gave us $1 off thick shakes. When we arrived we saw a poster where they advertised their daily special each day. It turned out to be better than the coupon. We tried their nutella sundae dasher and the oreo sundae dasher because monday was buy one get one free on that type of item. The oreo one was pretty good, had a decent amount of oreo chunks. The nutella one was also good but after awhile it got a little too sweet and too much chocolate taste. Service was fast. I came here a total of 4 times. I came in for lil rounders, ice cream, and their shakes. The service and quality is excellent every time. What makes me give it a 5/5 is the service I received here this summer, when I came in with my friend, carrying presents (we were picking up the cake for my boyfriends birthday). It wasn't busy at all, we just bought the cake and were waiting for our ride when we realized we forgot to buy balloons. The super nice gentleman who served us (he might have been the owner or the manager because he is always there!) offered to keep the cake refrigerated for us while we ran to get them. We came back and he took the cake out for us, with a smile on his face. We were waiting for our ride (for about 30 min) in the store and were not rushed out, but rather felt very welcomed. (We were blowing up balloons, and the manager even gave us a garbage bag to put all the balloons into!) Although the store is tiny, he let us stay. My son's 4th birthday is coming up, so we decided to order an ice cream cake. I took my 2 toddlers with me to preorder the cake and to see if they deliver. Due to covid they had a table blocking the entrance to the rest of the store, which was normal. The part that infuriated me was that I had my 2 year old daughter in one hand and tried to get my 3 year old son with the other, but he tried to walk past the table. I called for him and reached to grab him... He didn't get far by the time he realized he's not supposed to go past the table. The worker behind the counter says with the nasty voice, "You can't go past there." I quickly snapped, "Relax yourself. I'm trying to grab him." He awkwardly walked away and realized he had to come back to serve me. At this point, I'm upset so the tone in my voice was nothing but rude... I should've walked out at that point, but I needed the cake for my son's birthday. I ask, "Do you deliver cakes?" "Only through Ubereats." "So, does that mean I have to call ubereats to order a custom cake?" "We only deliver through Ubereats." I should've walked out the minute he opened his mouth to snap at me and my kids, but of course I had to endure the full wrath of the man's rudeness. I simply walked out and left it that. First, I'd like to make it clear that it's your average chain ice cream store, not specialized ones like Chinatown Ice Cream Factory or Big Gay Ice Cream in Manhattan. That being said, I feel as if some reviews here are a bit too harsh. I give this place 5 stars for many reasons. 1) this store has been here since I moved into this neighborhood in 1998. It's probably been here longer than that but hey - that's pretty darned long. Even its nearest competitor, Baskin Robbins turned into a Subways sandwich shop due to Gentrification. I'm glad this store is still here. 2) the owner and workers are ultra nice and give massive servings. It's not only an honest way of keeping customers happy, but it also means they keep their ice cream constantly fresh by replenishing it after such portions. 3) Their buy one get one free weekdays promos are a steal. Too bad it doesn't apply on weekends, but if you see the sizes and portions they give you - you don't need bubble tea on the hotter days. Just be careful of diabetes Lastly, I give them 5 stars because they do custom image printing. They custom print images onto the cake using edible ink and can even tailor ice cream flavors to your request (provided you give them at least a week's time in advance) for extremely reasonable prices. One time my image on my flash drive got corrupted, but they still managed to dig it out. If they put so much effort into making their customers happy, then I believe they truly deserve their 5 star rating. Never really notice this carvel in my area till today. Only reason I noticed it was because there was lots of people lining up for something. So I walked over there to see what was going on and you know what they were handing out free junior ice cream and anything that's free I have to go get some ice cream waiting on line for 10 minutes and I got my free ice cream cone YAY!!! Yummy. Place is kinda small but hey it's an ice cream shop on the left side there are ice cream cakes comes in all sizes and in the back is their counter on the right are ice cream sandwiches ant etc. staff and owner are super nice. Overall place is great to go get ice cream and with the hot weather approaching this place going to be booming with lots of happy kids and adults. My boyfriend and I had just missed the Mister Softee truck so we decided to walk over to Carvel. We both tried the Carvelanche. This was my first time so I was pretty excited about it since it's supposed to be Carvel's version of the Dairy Queen blizzard. I had wanted to mix the Cookie Butter and Nutella flavors, but the associate didn't know the middle lever of the ice cream machine was a twist; meaning it would twist both flavors together. I think I got both, but I'm not quite sure LOL! My boyfriend had asked for Reese's pieces, meaning the M&M kind and he ended up getting pieces of Reese's cups. This is my go to place for my son's birthday cakes for school parties. Since hes started school, whenever it comes to his bday.. I always order cakes from here. Theyre the only cake shop that do prints on the cake without giving me a hard time with copyright issues (BJs will give u issues!!!) and with all these new characters comin out every yr.. This Carvel is pretty standard. What really matters is that it's a CARVEL so you can get your chocolate/vanilla swirl with rainbow sprinkles AND you can get a Fudgie the Whale cake. I'm just glad it's walking distance from my flute student's house, so I don't really have to go out of my way when I want to get soft serve. read more

If I could give it no stars I would. I looked up carvel online and thought I was calling the store on Bath Ave and Bay Parkway. Instead I was directed to the carvel on 65th street and Bay Parkway. I tried to order a cake for my daughters birthday and the man was very rude and told me we don't take orders on the phone from this location. I asked him if this was the store on Bath Ave and he said yes. What he should have said was I am sorry you have the wrong location. I realized I called the wrong store when I went online again to carvels website and saw you can place orders online so if you can place orders online why can't you call it in. I then typed in my zip code and the store on Bath Ave was listed. I called them and they were so very nice and professional and took my order. So my warning is stay away from the Carvel on 65th and Bay Parkway. If you want to go to a Carvel who gives you great customer service go to the one on Bath Ave and Bay Parkway. read more
