This location has a very cool hidden bar in the back sort of a speakeasy and a cool happy hours menu. I plan to come back and experience the happy hour. Cheers!

Lancers is the place you have driven by for years and wondered what it was all about. Well, I am here to tell you that Lancers is an old-school diner with a nostalgic feel. There is plenty of seats and plenty of parking. The menu is not really considered cheap, but it is not expensive either. Most everything is closer to $20.00 a plate. We stopped in for breakfast and I ordered the French toast with bacon and eggs for $17.99. My guy had ham and eggs with toast. Portions were decent and everything was just okay. There was nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner and seem to cater more toward older folks and families looking for a simple diner experience. Plenty of parking, which is a plus. Overall, it was fine for a casual meal but not something I'd go out of my way for. Next time I will order a burger.

Stopped by here recently for the first time in several years, and was surprised by how much I loved it! Lancers shares a lot with several other stores and when I went for dinner, there was plenty of parking. The menu was quite large, and they have daily dinner specials. I considered getting the prime rib special but landed on the meatloaf dinner. The dinner came with soup or salad, a potato dish, the daily vegetable, and a slice of bread. There was so much food! Everything tasted pretty average, but you're not going to a family restaurant for bib gourmand food anyways. I thought the price was great for the amount of food that was given, and I had some leftovers at the end of my meal. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and all of the workers seemed to be getting along with each other, which always feels good to see at a workplace. Definitely going to return to try some of their other stuff!

We went to Lancer in Burbank for a family lunch on Thanksgiving Day which was yesterday. (11/27/2025). My brother especially wanted to come here, so we visited, and we all enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Prime Rib Thanksgiving special, my brother had the Turkey plate, and my mom ordered an omelette. Everything tasted good. The Thanksgiving specials came out like a course meal -- you could choose either soup or salad to start, and for dessert, you could pick between pecan pie or pumpkin pie. But, they didn't have pecan pie yesterday, so I had the pumpkin pie, and it was very soft and delicious. One thing -- the service was friendly and kind, but when I ordered my prime rib medium well-done, it came out medium rare, which surprised me. I asked them to cook it a bit more, but even after that, it still had a noticeable red center, so I requested one more re-cook. Sometimes when I say "medium well," people think I said "medium rare," so I made sure to say "medium well-done," but it still came out rare at first, which was a bit frustrating. However, the staff handled everything kindly and professionally, and they recooked it twice. They kept checking to see if we needed anything, even though the restaurant was extremely busy and packed with people yesterday. The portions here are generous, and this place has been a nostalgic spot for our family for years. We hadn't been back for almost 10 years, so it felt special to visit again.

(Drank/Tookout 08/28/25 TH @ 6:00pm): Lounging with family at this restaurant... no lance required! I've driven by Lancers Family Restaurant & Lounge (the "lounge" part was recently added the past couple of years) for decades. Yet, only now I finally made it inside to avoid traffic on the way home and picked up dinner at the same time. Originally opened as Pages restaurant in 1962, Lancers became the name of this family restaurant in 1969. Since then, it became an important piece of the food scene that now included a lounge. This was a nostalgic staple diner in the Los Angeles area. Lancers has been a classic for many locals since their opening almost 60 years ago. Owned by Stuart "Stu" Weisfeld, Lancers has maintained its classic aura without losing the quality or feel of an unforgettable diner. The newly-opened Lancers Lounge was inclusive of a full-service bar with TVs for all sport fans. Would I lance my way in the future to lounge around at this family restaurant!? PURCHASE(S) Elysian Brewing Co. I quickly ordered a draft beer (and then a cocktail), my dinner, and settled in as I listened to various conversations, chatted with Tanya, and about 20 minutes later my food was packed and ready to go. Everything was simple and straightforward - thank you! PARKING (FREE) Located in a large open strip mall, there were ample spots - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE The restaurant was spacious and had a ton of booths, chairs and tables as well as counter dining, and plenty of natural lighting entered through the many large windows while multiple electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. The lounge https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=JhqIJFed_hdFzxp_wDaIag was more closed-knit and communal with zero amount of natural lighting while dimly-lit electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while rock music quietly played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=LCo1QhVU-73_O0xWAuNPHA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was happy to finally try Lancers Family Restaurant & Lounge, but the first impressions weren't the best. As much as I appreciated diners, lounges, and general nostalgia, the food was passable, the drinks selections were rudimentary, and the prices were decent, while the service was lackadaisical and straightforward. I appreciated the specialty cocktails https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=ZjbFIFqzqE0QxQ7IIHDSUA and promotional menus https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=IiRyKgwXjKY4CYL1tEvVgg to try and drive more revenue. However, the sentiment felt hollow. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $50.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 3.0 STARS

Lancers has such large and extremely delicious appetizers and meals with such a huge variety! Our waiter was super knowledgeable and kind! And the booths were comfortable. We will visit this restaurant many more times!

My coworkers wanted to go to Lancers. I planned not to eat a meal. I ordered the fried zucchini and was instantly disappointed. The cook needs to be fired. A 10 year old could do better than this. The waitress was very apologetic. She sent it back and a new batch was made. Some of it was a little better but a few of the zucchini were ice cold in the center. I wasn't charged for the appetizer. Who is managing the people? Hire someone that takes pride in cooking food.

We were out shopping at lobby hobby and thought.Let's just stop here.My friend had never been to lancers before, and I love their food.It gives you a down home comfort vibe. It's always nice and clean. The staff are very customer service oriented.Sometimes it tends to get extremely busy. They also have a bar with a happy hour.So that makes it super nice. The food you just have to come and check it out.And judge for yourself, but it is delicious

I have heard good things about Lancers but hadn't been. Roomy booths. A genuine old time diner with friendly service and a lot of options. Strong coffee! I had the Belgian waffle (perfection) and my son had a tuna melt. He took half home as it was definitely a big sandwich and came with steak fries! Divine! We will be back.

If your looking for old school diner feels, then this is the place! The interior is definitely old and outdated but it has an old feel charm. They serve breakfast pretty much all day which is great if you love breakfast like me. The drinks menu needs to be updated. They don't have lattes or matcha, just your typical cup of joe. Service is usually fast and the staff is nice and friendly. The food is ok, solid. Nothing to rave about but not horrible either. They have daily specials which is nice. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely give it a try.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

Broken Compass Tiki is a pirate themed tiki bar in Burbank…read more They don't having a parking lot, but it was very easy to find street parking just around the corner on a Sunday afternoon. The front of the building is a little vaguely marked, and the entrance has speakeasy vibes, which was a surprise. Upon walking in the front door, there is some tiki décor and a small counter in the rear. I remember thinking to myself "what the heck, this is it?". I checked in at the host stand on the left, and was handed me a boarding pass. She then led us through a hidden door behind what looked like a shipping crate. We were now in the real Broken Compass. The interior is a good size. The two-sided bar seats around a dozen. There is a lounge side of the bar that has two large booths along the wall, and another area with comfortable looking couches and lounge chairs. The main dining room has some tiki hut booths, and two sections of tables with half booth and half chair. The décor is pretty extensive with a good mix of pirate, nautical, and tiki themes. There is a lot of bamboo, thatch, rope, cargo netting, skulls and skeletons, port holes, octopus tentacles, jellyfish, tiki lights, and more. The ceiling is dark with various nautical and pirate markings, and even tied up ship sails overhead. The tiki hut booths have the parrots from the enchanted tiki room above them. Even the two restrooms are nautical themed, with beach and marine sounds playing. There is a lot of great décor to look at. We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy yet. By the time we left a few hours later, it was starting to get busy. We decided to sit at the bar. We started out with the buffalo cauliflower ($14) for an afternoon snack. The serving size was generous, and the buffalo sauce had a good tang. It was served with some sauces, and was surprisingly filling. A nice feature of the cocktail menu is that each drink displays one to three compass stars to indicate the strength of the drink. Their cocktails use a great variety of liquors including ones you don't often see. Many of the ingredients are made in-house. I started out with Chupacabra's Vacation (Demerara Rum, Jamacian Rum, Pomegranate Reduction, Cinnamon, Lime Juice, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $17). It is served with a flaming lime on top and a little fire show. It was balanced with a light booziness, some light pomegranate flavor, and a cinnamon sprinkle on top. She started out with the Bittersweet Paradise (Jamacian Rum, White Rum, Campari, Passionfruit Syrup, Lemon, Lime, Pineapple, two-star boozy rank, $18). It didn't drink boozy at all, and was passion fruit forward, with light bitterness. My second cocktail was the Bermuda Dune Buggy (Gin, Overproof Rum, Kumquat Liqueur, Cassis, Orange, Lime, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $18). It had a very unique garnish of a Chartreuse infused gummy which was delicious. The drink was nicely balanced, and didn't really drink boozy even with overproof rum in it. They have a rotating monthly cocktail and she tried the Tropic Like It's Hot (Coconut Washed Lemongrass Infused Rum, Mango, Lemon, Coconut Water, Amaro, $17) which was created by one of our bartenders Daniel. It was served in a Spam can and was light and refreshing with a nice pop of fruit at the start, and a very nice coconut flavor. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and had great conversation with our bartenders Daniel and Monica. They also provided excellent service. Broken Compass supports payment with the InKind app which gives you 20% back (10% on Friday and Saturday) in InKind cash. We had a really great time here, and the drinks, food, décor, and atmosphere were excellent. I purchased a Hork (Horse-shaRK) mug for $50 to bring home as a souvenir. We would definitely return again when in the area.

Had such an amazing experience at Granville! The food, ambience, and service were all top tier. Me…read moreand my partner decided to split and share a few dishes, and honestly... everything was so flavorful. That artisan bread with the duck fat butter? Absolutely incredible. The beet salad was fresh, balanced, and just WOW. We also ordered the Peri Peri chicken and omg -- the sauce was delicious and the chicken itself was juicy and flavorful. I do wish I ordered the bone-in version instead of the 2 breast chicken. The flavor was there, but I personally felt like the chicken was a little over-charred. I almost returned it, but since we were both hungry, we still ate it. Even then, I'd still come back and try their other dishes or maybe the bone-in Peri Peri next time because the sauce alone was so good. The only side that didn't fully match my taste was the mashed potatoes. I honestly wish I ordered another veggie instead because it didn't pair as well with the Peri Peri for me. But let me tell you about the drinks... the craft soda was AMAZING. Super refreshing and honestly one of the best drinks I've had in a while. And shoutout to our server -- absolutely fantastic service. He knew the menu so well, gave great recommendations, and made the whole dining experience even better. Definitely recommending this place, and I can't wait to come back and try more from their menu!

Ya'll, this here is a gem! You go in and there's none of that pretentious bs. Don't got to worry…read moreabout others judging you. Everyone is literally there to have a good time, doing their own thing. Like I want to say, this is a safe place (?) I don't think I've ever used those words to describe a bar before! There's an entire wall of board games for you to choose from. We played about 3 or 4 games? And each one had all the pieces, amazingly! This just goes to show you that the people that visit this establishment respect and care for the games, which is a reflection on the clientele itself. And of course, you're welcome to bring your own game as well. We got there a bit after opening so we were able to get one of the multi seater tables. When we left at 3PM, the place was packed! The bar seats were all taken and the outside seating was pretty filled too. So be sure to get here early if you're looking for a table. Got an order of the chicken tenders and sweet potato tots. The chicken tenders was alright. But the sweet potato tots were delicious! We also ordered drinks. The food didn't take long and the staff was friendly. Parking is strictly street parking. So don't go parking at the KFC lot next door. Honestly, this place is great! Check it out if you're looking for a spot to chill and hang out! Good people and good vibes all around!
