Walking in to Lancers feels like a step back in time, with the red cushion booths and diner counter. They have a vast menu, and serve breakfast all day (can't wait to try the next time I go!). The meal was good, though charging $1.50 for a single deli pickle is a bit insane when you get a bunch for free with your meal if you go to Brent's. I was full off of half my sandwich and took the rest to go, but they don't have single serve condiment packets which I thought was odd. The servers were very nice about this and provided me with a small sauce cup for me to fill instead. Though I enjoyed the food, I do have to say that the milkshake was lacking for a deli/diner expectation. It tasted like semi-thick but mostly thin chocolate milk and was not worth it for the price. Overall, I look forward to returning for more sandwiches and to try their breakfast! I also want to go to their bar!

Side door for separate "lounge" entrance. Reminds me of when Denny's had a lounge!

I can't remember the first time I saw Lancers, easily over 3 decades ago, but I never tried it until recently. Solid, coffee shop with friendly, attentive service and large, family friendly menu. Even and "old fashion" dessert case with revolving goodies! The first thing I notice on approach was the side door entry directly to the lounge. It reminded me of back when Denny's had a lounge, but those were all removed by the time I came of legal drinking age. LOL Lancers also has a lounge and it was tempting to pop in for a mid afternoon adult libation, but we had no time to languish over 3 martinis lunches, so into the main dining area we went. We were greeted and sat in a booth immediately and a gentleman came to ask us what drinks he could get us started with. Then our server arrived and introduced himself, pointed out the lunch specials and gave us a few minutes to decide. I opted for the Chef Salad and Hubs went for the ham steak breakfast with pancakes. My salad was cold, crisp and delicious, served with a slice of fresh bread. Yum! It was a very large salad, so I knew as soon as it was placed before me, half of this bad boy would be dinner. Hubs breakfast was also good. He couldn't finish all his pancakes, so I graciously offered my assistance. Now, my fave pancakes are more cake-y dense than anything, but these weren't bad at'll. Fluffy and light with a hint of sweetness. We didn't have room for dessert, but a glance through the rotating display told me it wouldn't be a bad idea to pop in just for coffee and pie sometime. There's LOADS of free parking in their vast lot and I look forward to returning far sooner than all the previous decade of my passing by had allowed. Def going to try a dessert next time. Cheers! This place has been on my radar for a while now. So the hubs and I finally stopped in for some lunch and so glad that we did. The diner vibes were great! We were greeted right away and seated in a both close to the bar seating. Loved that you could see the cooks or ( chef's) cooking away through open window area. We ordered the fish and chips special. I got the tortilla soup with mine and the hubs got the clam chowder with his. The tortilla soup was so yummy! Crispy tortilla pieces on top made it perfect! My fish and chips plate was so huge! You get so much food for the lunch special which is great. Fish was cooked perfectly! Had a nice crisp and great taste! I will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

Lancers is the place you have driven by for years and wondered what it was all about. Well, I am here to tell you that Lancers is an old-school diner with a nostalgic feel. There is plenty of seats and plenty of parking. The menu is not really considered cheap, but it is not expensive either. Most everything is closer to $20.00 a plate. We stopped in for breakfast and I ordered the French toast with bacon and eggs for $17.99. My guy had ham and eggs with toast. Portions were decent and everything was just okay. There was nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner and seem to cater more toward older folks and families looking for a simple diner experience. Plenty of parking, which is a plus. Overall, it was fine for a casual meal but not something I'd go out of my way for. Next time I will order a burger.

This location has a very cool hidden bar in the back sort of a speakeasy and a cool happy hours menu. I plan to come back and experience the happy hour. Cheers!

Stopped by here recently for the first time in several years, and was surprised by how much I loved it! Lancers shares a lot with several other stores and when I went for dinner, there was plenty of parking. The menu was quite large, and they have daily dinner specials. I considered getting the prime rib special but landed on the meatloaf dinner. The dinner came with soup or salad, a potato dish, the daily vegetable, and a slice of bread. There was so much food! Everything tasted pretty average, but you're not going to a family restaurant for bib gourmand food anyways. I thought the price was great for the amount of food that was given, and I had some leftovers at the end of my meal. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and all of the workers seemed to be getting along with each other, which always feels good to see at a workplace. Definitely going to return to try some of their other stuff!

We went to Lancer in Burbank for a family lunch on Thanksgiving Day which was yesterday. (11/27/2025). My brother especially wanted to come here, so we visited, and we all enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Prime Rib Thanksgiving special, my brother had the Turkey plate, and my mom ordered an omelette. Everything tasted good. The Thanksgiving specials came out like a course meal -- you could choose either soup or salad to start, and for dessert, you could pick between pecan pie or pumpkin pie. But, they didn't have pecan pie yesterday, so I had the pumpkin pie, and it was very soft and delicious. One thing -- the service was friendly and kind, but when I ordered my prime rib medium well-done, it came out medium rare, which surprised me. I asked them to cook it a bit more, but even after that, it still had a noticeable red center, so I requested one more re-cook. Sometimes when I say "medium well," people think I said "medium rare," so I made sure to say "medium well-done," but it still came out rare at first, which was a bit frustrating. However, the staff handled everything kindly and professionally, and they recooked it twice. They kept checking to see if we needed anything, even though the restaurant was extremely busy and packed with people yesterday. The portions here are generous, and this place has been a nostalgic spot for our family for years. We hadn't been back for almost 10 years, so it felt special to visit again.

(Drank/Tookout 08/28/25 TH @ 6:00pm): Lounging with family at this restaurant... no lance required! I've driven by Lancers Family Restaurant & Lounge (the "lounge" part was recently added the past couple of years) for decades. Yet, only now I finally made it inside to avoid traffic on the way home and picked up dinner at the same time. Originally opened as Pages restaurant in 1962, Lancers became the name of this family restaurant in 1969. Since then, it became an important piece of the food scene that now included a lounge. This was a nostalgic staple diner in the Los Angeles area. Lancers has been a classic for many locals since their opening almost 60 years ago. Owned by Stuart "Stu" Weisfeld, Lancers has maintained its classic aura without losing the quality or feel of an unforgettable diner. The newly-opened Lancers Lounge was inclusive of a full-service bar with TVs for all sport fans. Would I lance my way in the future to lounge around at this family restaurant!? They were oily, messy, and only decent. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=5XXqVfT0EfTW7DLPV6-YkA SERVICE Tanya the bartender casually greeted me as I entered and grabbed a barstool. I quickly ordered a draft beer (and then a cocktail), my dinner, and settled in as I listened to various conversations, chatted with Tanya, and about 20 minutes later my food was packed and ready to go. Everything was simple and straightforward - thank you! PARKING (FREE) Located in a large open strip mall, there were ample spots - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE The restaurant was spacious and had a ton of booths, chairs and tables as well as counter dining, and plenty of natural lighting entered through the many large windows while multiple electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. The lounge https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=JhqIJFed_hdFzxp_wDaIag was more closed-knit and communal with zero amount of natural lighting while dimly-lit electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while rock music quietly played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=LCo1QhVU-73_O0xWAuNPHA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was happy to finally try Lancers Family Restaurant & Lounge, but the first impressions weren't the best. As much as I appreciated diners, lounges, and general nostalgia, the food was passable, the drinks selections were rudimentary, and the prices were decent, while the service was lackadaisical and straightforward. I appreciated the specialty cocktails https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=ZjbFIFqzqE0QxQ7IIHDSUA and promotional menus https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=IiRyKgwXjKY4CYL1tEvVgg to try and drive more revenue. However, the sentiment felt hollow. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $50.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 3.0 STARS

Almost cold mashed potatoes, totally overcooked carrots and tasteless hard liver.

I had been going there for quite some time, and in general I thought the food wasn't bad. Service is, in general, very friendly, and the place is, in general, quite clean. Nevertheless, after today's lunch with a friend of mine, I decided to pass on going there. My friend and I met there for lunch. She had a burger with onion rings, and I had one of my favourites, Liver and onions, and veggies with mashed potatoes and gravy ( without the onions). But today I just finally realized it's time for me to move on. The last time I was there, when I had eggs Benedict, they were quite bad, and the waiter got on my wrong side by slamming the bill on our table when we barely finished. And it wasn't very busy there. Jesus Christ stop being so pushy. It felt like, "yeah, you guys ate now get the hell out of here". Today, my friend liked her food, but mine was the liver dish. One of the worst I have ever had. The mashed potatoes were almost cold, the carrots so overcooked that they would have been perfect as baby food. And the liver, tasteless and hard, and that for 19-some Dollars. That's it, I think I spend my money where the food is worth the money, and I, as a customer, won't feel that much pressure to pay and go.

We were out shopping at lobby hobby and thought.Let's just stop here.My friend had never been to lancers before, and I love their food.It gives you a down home comfort vibe. It's always nice and clean. The staff are very customer service oriented.Sometimes it tends to get extremely busy. They also have a bar with a happy hour.So that makes it super nice. The food you just have to come and check it out.And judge for yourself, but it is delicious

Been coming here since I was a kid and it has gone from what some would call a greasy spoon restaurant to a better restaurant in my opinion. The plates are usually pretty large and you get plenty of food. It's all pretty basic and tastes the way you would expect it to. Service is usually quick and everyone is pretty nice. It can get fairly loud at times especially at the busy times on the weekends. My favorite thing to order is anything with their steak fries, which seem to be getting harder to find.

I have heard good things about Lancers but hadn't been. Roomy booths. A genuine old time diner with friendly service and a lot of options. Strong coffee! I had the Belgian waffle (perfection) and my son had a tuna melt. He took half home as it was definitely a big sandwich and came with steak fries! Divine! We will be back.

We found this place last minute to watch the final FIFA World Cup game when we were turned around…read morefrom another spot. Thank god we got turned away because this place is a hidden gem. They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

Didn't want run of the mill food so opted to try Broken Compass Tiki. When we walked in we were wondering what we were in for. After being taken into the restaurant we both fell in love. - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

Our waitress was nice and attentive at the right time. We got a Cobb salad and a chicken plate. Their chicken quality is soooo good. The Cobb salad has all the right amount of toppings and they mix in the dressing, much appreciated! Every bite has the dressing on it. I sub for blue cheese dressing, and it has a hint of mint that is perfect to balance out the heaviness of the egg, bacon and cheese crumbles. I also add crispy chicken. The chicken plate with hummus and pita is also really good. It's a thin slice of chicken, cooked just right. Their fries are crispy and flavorful. Their portions are big, so it's good to share. They have a ni outdoor patio too. Music they were playing was a good mix and not too loud. Enough to be able to hear it, but still have a conversation. Overall, recommend this place for lunch!

We didn't grab food but we did grab a few cocktails for a Friday after work adventure. The drinks had fun play on words for names and were charming in their own way. A good local, neighbor friendly bar not too far from the studio tours if you are looking to get off the beaten path.

Granville came recommended for their gluten free offerings and that proved to be completely true. We arrived to a full patio on a weekday, with a mixture of smart dressed likely business individuals and more casual locals, but the staff worked out how to make a smaller table fit 4 of us so we could enjoy the sun too. We ordered a round of amazing drinks and met our waitress, who was just as kind as she was knowledgeable. She talked with us casually, which I love, gave us great recommendations, and knew the gluten free offerings forwards and backwards. Not only did she know the menu, she came out with everything we requested in one go, which seems rare anymore in serving. The food here is amazing. It's local, quality, and even with a gluten free bun, moist and flavorful. None of us could shut up about this place and honestly, I'm surprised I'd never been before. Definitely will be back.

Ya'll, this here is a gem! You go in and there's none of that pretentious bs. Don't got to worry…read moreabout others judging you. Everyone is literally there to have a good time, doing their own thing. Like I want to say, this is a safe place (?) I don't think I've ever used those words to describe a bar before! There's an entire wall of board games for you to choose from. We played about 3 or 4 games? And each one had all the pieces, amazingly! This just goes to show you that the people that visit this establishment respect and care for the games, which is a reflection on the clientele itself. And of course, you're welcome to bring your own game as well. We got there a bit after opening so we were able to get one of the multi seater tables. When we left at 3PM, the place was packed! The bar seats were all taken and the outside seating was pretty filled too. So be sure to get here early if you're looking for a table. Got an order of the chicken tenders and sweet potato tots. The chicken tenders was alright. But the sweet potato tots were delicious! We also ordered drinks. The food didn't take long and the staff was friendly. Parking is strictly street parking. So don't go parking at the KFC lot next door. Honestly, this place is great! Check it out if you're looking for a spot to chill and hang out! Good people and good vibes all around!

Plenty of board games to choose from, many people playing card trading card games. I ordered the Final Zestination (clever word play) I love that their drinks have a play on words. I love vodka and lemon together, this was so yummy! I also ordered garlic fries I would rate this a 8/10 The drinks come up as you order and the bartender was quick but efficient . The only downside is parking, there isn't a parking lot. We parked on the neighborhood street. Overall I will come back! I recently got into MTG so I need to be back to play that!

It's become so much more than just one of our favorite bars and every visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The biggest reason, though, is the people. Hospitality is something that's hard to fake, and the team here does it effortlessly. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted like an old friend. Over the years, the staff has created an environment that feels welcoming, comfortable, and genuinely personal, and that's something that's become increasingly rare. Matt, Sabrina, and the entire team are all such gems. Scott also deserves special recognition. He's a huge part of what makes The Rendition Room such a special place. Whether he's introducing a new cocktail, sharing the story behind a spirit, or simply taking the time to check in, his passion and care for every guest shine through. It's people like Scott who transform a great bar into a place you truly feel connected to. On our most recent visit, we tried the new Decade & Debauchery cocktail, celebrating The Rendition Room's 10 year anniversary, and it's phenomenal. Balanced, and beautifully executed. In a city full of great bars, they have managed to create something much harder to find, a sense of community. After all these years, it still feels just as special as the first time we walked in.

Employees were super friendly and we were excited that they were showing the telemundo World Cup coverage. The menu was great. We split the carnitas plate and got Long Island iced tea. Completely different menu. Food was beyond sub par you can make the food at home and would taste better! Save your money. Everything we had from two orders of "taquitos", "esquite", quesadillas and a blood orange mojito. The only thing with a bit of flavor was the esquite, but again to pay for roasted corn on the cob with just mayo and cheese? For $13 ? NEVER AGAIN. I have a problem with the way they name their items which is a bit misleading. For example, they have an item called taquitos, meaning you would expect a rolled fried taquitos. What came was tacos dorados so why is it named taquitos? They DID write on the menu that it's fried tacos..but again why are they not just calling it TACOS DORADOS? Same with esquite typically esquites are corn off the cob but this was on the COBB and yes it was described on the menu as on the Cobb but again why not call it ELOTE instead of esquite. Clearly this is semantics but just frustrating. If you want authentic Mexican food there is a Don Cuco's around the block that is WAY better than this place. They are at a different tier than this Kalavera's location. If you're a drinker perhaps that would make the food taste better...so disappointed and a waste of money!
