I used to like the place but now I realize, these guys don't know how to make pizza. Why you ask? Well... pizza is supposed to come with sauce..... it's called PIZZA SAUCE. Their pizzas either have no sauce or sauce only on the outer edge of the dough. I even asked for my last pizza to have extra sauce, still, no sauce. Another issue?? I just realized that I have not written a review of favorite pizza place in Davis. Well lets fix that! If you're looking for a quality pizza with quality ingredients then Lamppost is your go to place. Lamppost is on par price wise with other premium pizza restaurants (maybe even a bit cheaper). If you're looking for cheap pizza for cheap go to domino's. Domino's has a fine cheap pizza by the way, I'm not knocking it, but that's a different review. To me a pizza isn't a pizza unless it has pepperoni, and when I order a pepperoni pizza from lamppost I'm not disappointed in the quality or quantity of my pepperoni. If meat isn't your thing, my wife (and other friends) have told me their veggies are delicious as well. We had a Davis pizza competition at work when some pleb told me Cenarios had the best pizza. Lamppost beat Cenarios handedly amongst all my coworkers. In fact that pizza competition gave Lamppost a few new customers because many didn't know it existed. If you ate in pre-pandemic or eat in post pandemic you would find very friendly customer service as well as several big televisions for sports. Treat yourself and get the cheesy garlic bread. Overall they say pizza is a lot like sex, when it's good, it's really good... but when it's bad... it's still ok. But why settle for bad sex... I mean pizza. read more

This. This right here, is amazing. Yes, it's a pickle pizza. There was an image of one on their digital in-store signage for the longest time and we finally decided to try it. It was amazing. Though it's not technically a menu item, it's white sauce, garlic, dill, and of course, pickles. Add ground beef if you're into that. So, we came here for the first time to redeem our girls' free personal sized pizza for completing the summer library reading program. It's on the other side of town - in the Westlake Shopping Mall - which we don't spend much time at. Now, that just might have to change. The inside decor is super dated, think bowling sports bar with green pleather booths and lots of TVs showing sports games. There is also an outdoor patio with umbrella shaded tables (where we sat) and when it got dark, sweet twinkle lights to set the mood. My girls devoured their 1 topping pizzas, and since they aren't necessarily the biggest pizza fans - I took this as a good sign! They have a really nice selection of local craft beers - but, their digital menu was scrolling a little too fast, so I asked for a paper menu. I had a pretty tasty Bike Dog pint ($7ish) and noticed they had Bogle Vineyards wine available. Ready for the huge yum factor? Any pizza you order with "fresh tomatoes" ends up being these huge, juicy, sweet, colorful, local heirloom tomatoes. Oh, my sweetness that was the thing that sent this pizza over the edge. We ordered a medium pizza ($17.75) with artichoke hearts (+$1.75) and fresh tomatoes (+$1.75) which ended up being a marriage made in heaven. Seriously so good! In the end, $21 bucks for a medium pizza is a little much for me, but I love that they donate so many pizzas to the library reading program, so I'm willing to throw down a few extra bones. Oh, also their soda fountain serves Stubborn Soda - no artificial sweeteners, no high fructose corn syrup, natural flavors. Which I'll have to try next time! Davis has some really great pizza joints. This goes up there with Woodstock's and Blaze. In a plaza with a parking lot and ample parking. I love how cheesy and fresh their pizza tastes in terms of the veggies they use. I came here for lunch hour and they had all 6 of our orders out in 10-15 minutes and apologized for lagging? What, that was really prompt! I would say that price wise they are a bit more expensive than the other pizza places in the area. $7.50 for a lunch special of 2 slices of pizza and a soda with unlimited refills. We ordered pizza for the first time from Lamppost Pizza in Davis off of Doordash. The order was about $120 with tip. We ordered a BBQ chicken and a pepperoni with hot honey and basil (both larges) we also ordered a small cheese bread and also their cinnamon bread. Finally we got some sides of ranch. We did not get the large pepperoni pizza and both breads actually looked rather sad. So thin and not appetizing. The reason this type of thing is so upsetting is because everything is already so expensive. $120 for 2 large pizzas and some bread is already super high. Guests really do expect quality and for everything in their order to arrive. It makes me sad that this was our first experience with this restaurant which means we will not be returning. This review is for people who want to order an Aggie Burger. I was very disappointed with what I got for my $12. I am not sure if it was an exception but the preparation and presentation of the food was subpar. First, I needed to fish out the ketchup bags from below the food. They were in direct contact with the food fries which is not sanitary to begin with. It was disgusting. These packages come from outside suppliers and god knows how contaminated they are. There is always a risk of contaminating the food if it comes in contact with packages. Hoping that the burger's taste will compensate for this I went on putting together the burger. All ingredients but the meat were just tossed on the side. This may be convenient for the employee but I found this presentation sloppy to say the least. Although I ordered 'medium well' the patty was dry and the surface was burnt. The fries were OK. It was the first time I order a burger from Lamppost Davis and maybe it was an exception but I will probably not risk buying a burger again for a premium price. read more

Really tasty pizza in West Davis unlike the other chain restaurants. I used to live in Brush Creek Apartments right next to this shopping center. There was a walkway between the apartment complex and Westlake Plaza that led you right to the Lamppost Pizza storefront. I was totally stoked to discover that decent pizza was a hop and a skip away. This place has a ton of plasma TVs and is frequented by families and Little League teams or folks just trying to catch a broadcast sports event. But it is well worth the price of around $20 for a large pie. They also have pitchers of beer available for pretty cheap ($7-9). I only wish this place was open later, especially on the weekends when the drunk pizza-craving monster within my innards demands sustenance! read more

Hmmm! Where do I begin? Well Lamppost Pizza in Davis has become my go-to for pizza places. Located in west Davis, it is out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Davis. Easy to get to from just about anywhere around the Davis area. Lamppost Pizza has amazing seating. There is an outside patio so you can enjoy your pizza and drink in the fresh Davis air. There is also a smaller section that's great for parties and a bigger section that has great seats that can view one of their televisions from any angle. Speaking of televisions, there has to be a bazillion of them inside the restaurant. Lamppost Pizza would be a great place to watch sports. I've personally seen three different sports playing on different TVs while I was eating a pizza. Their pizzas are amazingly good. Not too greasy and not very dry. When it come to toppings, they don't skimp out on them. Loading your pizzas up with whatever you want on them. They also serve a dessert pizza that is fantastic. This pizza is covered in sugar, cinnamon and has a vanilla frosting drizzled over the top of it. It is definitely a must get when you go to Lamppost Pizza! If you do decide to go there, check out their one of a kind soda machine. This soda machine dispenses soda using all natural flavors and sugars. None of the high fructose corn syrup stuff.
