I really liked lamplighter! I went here specifically for the outdoor space. I got the "blame it on my juice" beer and I really liked it despite not being a beer drinker! Came here for drinks once after work and had a really nice time! There was a table open for us in a super well-lit area and things felt really clean and overall really pleasant. The space itself only had a few tables available (unsure if there are more besides the main area) so depending on the time, you might want to plan to be early so you for sure grab a table if you have a larger group. We went up to the bar to grab drinks and the person working was pretty friendly and fast with service. The kombucha I got was nice to drink - I enjoyed the flavor and the portion seemed fair for the price I got. I've been to the other Lamplighter location on Broadway a bunch of times before, but this was my first time at the Cambridge Crossing location. I'm a huge fan! I came for an event in the upstairs space, which was absolutely perfect for a large group. The balcony area was especially awesome! I'm not a big beer fan, so I just had kombucha, but it was nice to see that they had a non-alcoholic option available. The staff was really good about walking us through the options available. They also had a huge charcuterie board for the event, which was delicious. I wasn't expecting such high quality charcuterie from a brewery! You could really tell that all the ingredients were fresh and the aesthetics of the board itself were impressive. I will have to come back soon, especially this summer! read more

A beyond excellent addition to Cambridge Crossing! We always say, we're lucky to have a place like Lamplighter so conveniently located for a night when you want out, but nothing inconvenient. You're greeted at the door by a staff member checking your ID and providing a stamp. They directed us over to the downstairs bar & gave us the low down. I ordered the rabbit rabbit and LOVED this IPA! This location is quaint and perfect for the community. I'm a regular at Lamplighter's other location so I was super excited to try this new spot. The building is bright, airy, and beautifully designed. There are two floors with a bar and lots of seating on each, games available to borrow, a small merch counter, and even a little shuffleboard section below the stairs - it's definitely not a bad spot to enjoy a couple of beers. I visited on a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm and the place was already packed. I was lucky enough to get seating at the bar when someone left, but my only request for this place is that they add a section of tables that accepts reservations. I have a feeling that it will just be harder and harder to find space to stand or sit here as its popularity increases. The beer selection is amazing, as you'd expect from Lamplighter, and there's a number of funky barrel-aged options that I've never seen at the other location. I tried to only order things I haven't had before and ended up trying the Neon Nights, Snowbird, Mango Street, Apricot Rhapsody, and Cranes in the Sky between myself and my boyfriend (They offer both full and half pours so you can try a lot if you go with the smaller glasses). I honestly enjoyed everything, but Mango Street and Neon Nights were the winners in my book. Last but not least, if you go here, GET ONE OF THEIR DROOL-WORTHY CHEESEBOARDS. Everything on the board we ordered was amazing and it was all locally sourced, which I love. I can't wait to come back again as the weather warms up and they set up their outdoor patio. I came here with a large group of friends a few weeks ago. There is plenty of seating and we were able to spread out and relax. The inside of the brewery is beautiful, which you can't always say about breweries. Very warm and homey, not industrial. We love this brewery! My boyfriend and I have come a few times since they opened and it's always packed! It's located in Cambridge Crossing, just a few steps away from the new Lechmere stop on the green line! It's much bigger than their other location in Cambridge (2 full stories!) so there are a lot of tables and spaces to hang out. They also have so many games like shuffleboard, Jenga, connect 4, you name it! Right now, they're only serving beer and charcuterie boards, but they let you bring in your own food from other places. Our favorite board is The "Gouda Vibes" or the "G.O.A.T." They also have a few non-alcoholic drinks on the menu like Cold Brew coffee and kombucha! Brand new, much awaited brewery in Cambridge Crossing between Cafe Beatrice and Tatte! I was so excited to find out Lamplighter would be opening this tasting room. As of my writing (mid-February), the brewery is not yet open for tastings however I got a glimpse into the space: they are currently open for take out beer and charcuterie boards! They have a pretty extensive menu for both, see photos. I already love the atmosphere that this location emanates: plenty of natural sunlight and modern greenery. There appears to be a nice upstairs lounge area as well. I highly look forward to bringing my friends to sample different varieties of local beers while snacking on our charcuterie :) The team members I met were also super kind and equally as excited to get the show on the road! Last time, I tried the cheese board as well - a bit pricey but high quality and delicious. I especially like sitting upstairs and looking over the trees. We rented out the 2nd floor for a Welcome Party for our son's wedding. The staff was super helpful and easy to work with leading up to our event. They allowed us to bring in pizzas and completely take over the place. Our guests, of course, loved the beer but also the upstairs balcony overlooking the tranquil water out back. Can not say enough about the perfect location within walking distance from the Royal Sonesta where the wedding guests stayed. LOVED IT!! read more

Love Lamplighter! I love the CX space and prefer it over the Cambridge one. They have an upstairs space with a balcony for the warmer weather. The space is so comfortable and inviting, I love hanging out with groups here. Parking is also a bit easier than the other location as there is more available street parking in the immediate area. Beer selection is also great, similar to the Cambridge taproom. I also love that they have frequent community events which are always fun to attend. Would highly recommend for a group to hang out and enjoy some beers together! read more

Definitely the most chill brewery I went to on my vacation. I'm visiting from out of town and I love to take at least one day and brewery hop to all the local spots. Unfortunately that day, it was raining badly. Lamplighter was a quiet, chill spot with a farmers market - style event going on. I went upstairs and read my book. Bartender was very friendly. They also have more than just beers (maybe ciders or seltzers.. sorry I don't remember). I can't say the beer was exceptional, however, I did only have the one. There were kids running around downstairs (family friendly), there were games indoors, and lots of open window space. Super cool vibe! read more

Came here on a Monday night. It wasn't very busy - plenty of indoor seating, but all the seats outside downstairs were taken. This location is super new, it has a great indoor space and board games + cards to play. All the staff are so warm and welcoming. You can ask for samples at the bar too! INCREDIBLY rude and dismissive staff members that move like snails. I've seen bartenders put together a scorpion bowl in less time than it takes these people to pour a beer. Of course, if you're gluten-free, there's NOTHING for you here. A group of about 15 work colleagues and I went there last week, expecting to go upstairs, and were told that it was closed. This was after the person who planned the gathering confirmed the day before that upstairs would ABSOLUTELY be open and available at 5:00pm on the day of our event. We were then RUDELY told that it wasn't, and then instructed to "just go over there and relax". I guess they don't want patronage by their new corporate neighbors, which is beyond foolish. read more

After spending over $50 on beers here on our vacation from California. As soon as we stepped outside to enjoy the park they wouldn't allow my girlfriends entry to use the restroom. No brewery or restaurant should treat customers this way especially after spending this much on only beer. Visited Lamplighter CX this past Sunday. The space is really nice and my friend and I had a great time! Parking is a bit tough in the area, but we called and spoke with Gui who helped us with some great tips to find a street parking spot - but he didn't stop there! Once we made it in, Gui helped us choose the perfect brews - the Lamp Lager to keep it light and crisp for my Bud Light loving companion and something darker and more interesting for me with the Cuppa. A breath of fresh air to the Cambridge Crossing space! Lamplighter is so welcoming in this space. I love the revolving beer list and the location overlooks the water out back. The staff was super friendly and patient when I had trouble figuring out a beer I'd enjoy. The flights are so worth it and really give you a good taste of what's available for a good price. The Pros The place has Chipotle vibes, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Since I live in the CX Area (I can see my apartment out of the window), I will be there often. The place is very clean and the staff is quite friendly. It's nice to be able to avoid college kids, although it's beyond me why people bring babies and toddlers there. I will say it is family friendly for those who want to bring their kids. They even have high chairs available. With exposed ventilation (the very sterile Chipotle look) and large ceiling fans, outdoor balconies, I'm sure I'll appreciate this place far more in the summer. Very clean- someone is constantly picking up and wiping the tables down. The Cons There was only one option for light beer left (and it wasn't that light) and I showed up early in the afternoon. How could a brewery run out of beer? All that was left were dark stouts and heavy IPAs. Not enough non-alcoholic options. No hot drinks available. Also, you have to order at the bar- or at least that's what I was told by someone who was cleaning. It would be nice if- at least while I have a tab open, someone could take my order and relay it to the bar. If I come by myself I have to leave my belongings in my seat. I haven't been to the other one so I can't compare. It could use better music, too. Not enough bar seating but plenty of space for it. read more

Such a great spot for a group gathering! They have a wide selection of beer & it's bring your own food which is great because there is a Tatte and another cafe nearby if you wanted to grab something in the area. The interior is really nice and lot of communal tables on the top floor. It did get crowded as the afternoon passed, getting there at noon was a perfect time. read more

Lamplighter CX, a taproom/brewery, is exactly what we needed for a central location to meet and drink with friends. The taproom is immaculate and well lit, and there is plenty of seating which gave us the ability to stay socially distanced. For a Saturday night, it was crowded but not overbearing at all....it holds a lot of people! The staff here is extremely friendly and available. Our table was cleared as soon as glasses were empty and every employee chatted us up and answered our questions. The selection is amazing. The menu is filled with unique flavors and seasonal choices, it was hard to pick a couple for a flight. Lamplighter CX is the best thing to happen to this neighborhood since the Green Line Extension. read more
