It's a bar that also knows how to brew good coffee and curate a coffee shop menu. Service is always good and efficient. La Marzocco machines, Barrington coffee as their main roaster. Not sure if they have a guest roaster program. I can't speak to the beer because I don't drink, but it looks good. Seating is ample. Calm inside. read more

This review is based off the cafe portion of Remnant. I started going to Remnant bc Union Square Donuts on the other side had gotten rid of or lost all my favorite peeps (didn't really feel like supporting anymore). I remember I had seen Remnant served coffee, so my pup and I meandered on over to grab my quad shot Americano and maybe sit in the beer garden. Then I found out my buddy could actually sit inside with me while we stole some of their AC. Then I found out they have wifi and outlets and I could get some work done as well! (Laptops not permitted Friday-Saturday after 6pm). The peeps that work there are great and efficient. They move quick even with longer lines and even when they start serving beers and cocktails AND coffee at the same time. They have restrooms in the back that are unisex along with a water station. You can't take your beer into Bow's patio area, but they have the beer garden in the back and a few tables littered right in front of their entrance. You can order food from any of the nearby restaurants and bring it in with you. You cannot order food from a nearby restaurant and use their space simply to post up and eat without ordering something from them - be cool people - don't take up space if you aren't supporting them in some way. There's so many regulars that you'll get to know a few people if you go often enough. Everyone's super friendly. My dog gets bored as soon as I pull out my laptop to work, but he's made plenty of friends there too, so he still gets excited and pulls me to their doors whenever we're in Bow. I love their espresso (and I'm picky) and I don't usually do iced tea, but their blood orange hibiscus iced tea is amazing, esp on a hot day. Interested in trying their margaritas at some point. read more

Really fun, party/college atmosphere at this brewery! Crowd is rowdy and the beer is good. It's definitely a stand around with your beer and talk loudly close to people's faces kind of spot, if you know what I mean. I enjoyed my beers, would love to come back with a friend/enemy/lover. read more

The best vibes at this beer garden. So relaxing to chill at the shaded outdoor patio area on a hot summer day with cold beer or iced latte. Friendly and quick service. Seasonal specials are great too - such as for the Fluff Festival in September. Can't believe it took me this long to discover this gem and will definitely come back read more

Popped into here for a drink on a holiday to find almost every outdoor table occupied and limited indoor seats available. This was a bit difficult since we had a large group and were unable to used the shared outdoor space that actually had seats due to liquor licensing restrictions (go figure Massachusetts). Staff were nice and we ended up get a gin & tonic as well as their lunar glow. The gin was standard and the beer was pleasant for a non-beer drinker. The place itself is as the name provide, a brewery with a comfortable and casual experience. Would come again if in the area. read more

Dope little spot with quite a bit of space. One of the things I enjoyed the most was the fact that it's located in an outdoor food hall. I got the hot box pizza and highly recommend it. There was an improve night going on in the coffee bar with a small audience. I headed over to the brew side, sat down, and read some pages in my book. It was the girl behind the bar's 2nd day maybe, but any time I asked a question she was quick to go talk to the other girl working to find out the answer. They have a big selection of tasty craft beers. In fact, this was one of my favorite breweries for the beer that I went to while visiting. read more

Dining method: Dine-in Item(s) ordered: Hang Time IPA Speed: Fast! Value: Reasonable The review: Great beer in a cool spot within Bow Market. Although you are not allowed to take your beer out of the venue, you are encouraged to bring in whatever food you'd like. There are many tables in the back (with a view of the brewing equipment!), ample space to sit, and even a second bar in the back of the space. Perfect place to hang with friends. The staff were really nice to boot. I enjoyed the Hang Time IPA, a NEIPA with a citrus flavor profile that's not too sweet or bitter and very drinkable. Will be back soon! Thank you! read more

Very cute spot with outdoor seating! There are tons of restaurants that share the space around the patios, so you can place pickup orders and eat at the brewery while trying cool beers! They are dog friendly on the outdoor patio and there are plenty of tables to hang out at. The drinks are great and I love that you can bring food from the restaurants that surround it. Remnant is such a fun, welcoming spot! You can BYOF, so it's great to order a variety of treats from nearby businesses and enjoy them on their patio with some beers. In the past, we've grabbed grub from Bow Market restaurants Tanam, Hot Box, Buenas, and Saus. They regularly host events, like Trivia with Merideth on Mondays starting at 7pm! Meredith is an amazing trivia host, and the game is a blast with a great mix of questions along with music clues. The perfect way to spend time with a group of friends and beat those Monday Exhausties. My team got first place in trivia recently, and we won a $35 Remnant gift card, so I'll be back soon! As far as the beers go, many are on the hoppy side, and they also have other styles like sours. Everything I've tried has been tasty and drinkable. And the bartenders are friendly and fun. For all of these reasons, Remnant is quite remarkable! read more

A cool spot for a brewery! We went on a cold day but I can't imagine how nice it would be in the Spring or Summer. The brewery is located in Bow Market so you can have beer and order online from any of the spots within and easily walk over and get it! Lots of restaurants and shops right there. We got poutine from Saus (always good) and had several IPAs from the brewery. Really well made beer and we were happy with our selections. Pet friendly if that matters to you and they also have a back outdoors with seating. Staff at the front bar were really sweet and informative. Will definitely come back! read more

This place is popping on a Saturday night. It was kind of tough to find a table around 7 pm. You can grab food around Bow Market and bring it here to enjoy your food and a drink! They have two sizes, but they give you the bigger size if you don't ask for the 8-ounce. I got the Dream Pop and my friends got the Space Junk and Diamond Lake DIPA and all 3 were full of flavor. One of my favorite breweries located in Bow Market. A nice space to hang out, with creative drafts as well as espresso depending on when you're there. They don't serve food, but as with all places in Bow Market, allow you to bring outside food (whether from a nearby place like Saus or elsewhere). You can enjoy remnant either on the back patio, outside with the fire pits, or indoors. The bartenders are super kind and it's always a good time here. My friends and I absolutely loved this place in Bow Market! Don't be fooled by the small storefront, the brewery stretches far back and there is plenty of additional seating. Even though we were a group of 8, the bartender kept up with our ordering and was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. The beers! Yum! Great beer and great vibes! Remnant is one of many cute stores in bow market that make for a great place to spend a day or evening out. The venue is super cute, with a nice indoor area and an adorable outdoor patio with string lights and murals. The service is friendly and there are often random cool events. The beer is excellent--I'd put it as one of the best breweries or bars in Cambridge/Somerville. Remnant is one of my favorite breweries in the Boston / Cambridge / Somerville areas, both in terms of the quality of their beers (top notch!) and the vibe of their taproom. First of all, Bow Market is just an all-around fun spot for a brewery - there are lots of cute shops nearby for browsing and a handful of eateries where you can grab food to-go and bring it over to Remnant (Saus and Hot Box are both solid options if you're looking to grab food before - or while - you're at Remnant). When you first enter Remnant Brewing, the space looks deceptively small, but don't be fooled - in addition to the bar up front, there is also one out back, alongside a decent-sized patio. We've been here for trivia night on Mondays and had an absolute blast - the patio space is perfect for trivia, and they also have a bit of seating at the bar. The trivia host was great, and we loved the creative music clues they gave! The bartender in the back was also SO nice - super friendly and he made us feel right at home. He allowed us to sample a few beers over the course of the night and had great recommendations. My personal favorite beer was the Sour Sol, but one of my favorite things about Remnant is that, unlike some breweries, they don't skew too heavily in one direction (e.g. all IPAs, all stouts, etc.) - they truly have a mix of a little of everything! It seems they usually have 2-3 sours on tap as well, which I greatly appreciate. I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to make many more visits back to Remnant! read more

The brewery is located within the bustling open Bow Market. It was lovely having so many food options to pre-order and then bring into the brewery. My favorite beer was the Saison Cadenza and worth noting is the Outermost Grave. So delicious I bought two crowlers to go. Our server was very personable and answered questions I had about navigating the area and local history. This spot has all the bones to be a fun time post Covid restrictions. read more

Great beer, fun location in Bow Market, really nice staff and bartenders. I'll definitely be returning to Remnant to try more beers and hand out! If you like sours, the Sour Sol was very good. read more

We are so spoiled in Union Square/Somerville. So many great breweries nearby, and Remnant now adds to that list. Located on the ground floor at Bow Market, it anchors and brings together the whole space. Remnant offers several of their own beers on tap (so far, heavy on ipas and pales, which is excellent by me) as well as coffee by Barrington's. The space is very welcoming and has ample seating both inside and out (most of the latter being in the back patio, but a couple seats sectioned off in the main courtyard.) While I think they have a few small, pre-made items to snack on, the idea is really that you'd bring in food from one of the vendors operating out of the stalls at Bow Market. Unfortunately, that is taking some time to get up and running, with only Maca currently open. However, the soon to be open vendors have been doing pop-up tables in the courtyard itself to give a little teaser of what's to come. If you go on a weekend, it's very likely you can grab some delicious fries from Saus and pair them up with a hazy beer at Remnant. Remnant is currently only offering beers on-site, but have mentioned they might do crowler options in the future. So if you want to check them out, stop by for a couple pints; you won't be disappointed. read more

Remnant is such a fun spot to visit on any day of the week! There is indoor and outdoor seating options, a lot of standing room too. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the products they sale. Bernard was awesome & would recommend the "next best thing" to order after first round of beers. I first ordered the Diamond Lake DIPA & Bernard then recommended The Last Golden Harmony (a great follow up). I also tried the Slow Disco Framboise, I took a shot because I'm not a fan of sours but OMG this one was delicious! I immediately texted my friend who drinks sour beers to try this one. read more

Remnant is a great spot to grab a beer (ahem, okay, let's be honest, beers*). It's tucked in Bow Market, but once you enter there are seats both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor patio is fantastic and dog friendly, which is nice considering many other breweries no longer allow dogs on their premises. The beer here can be hit or miss for me here, but I have really enjoyed their IPAs and sours recently. There is also a coffee/espresso bar in the front of the brewery (inside when you enter from the Bow Market area, not the Remnant outdoor patio in the back). While there seems to be more outdoor seating than indoor, I've never had trouble finding a spot to sit and sip in good or bad weather. Atmosphere: The brewery has a lively, but chill vibe - one that has enough hustle and bustle, but easy to sit and have a conversation (one where you actually hear your friends). Food: You can bring your own food and there are a number of places to grab something both in Bow Market and around Union Square. Note: you cannot order Remnant beers from the central/generic Bow Market seating area, you need to sit inside the brewery or on (in?) Remnant's patio. read more

terrific ambiance, beer, and coffee! great calendar of events, including an awesome (albeit packed!) weekly trivia night

Good beer but thus place sort of pissed me off. So last night we were not allowed to bring our beers out into the courtyard- there was a private party inside so the rules changed? Solid afternoon here with friends. We ordered food at one of the Bow Market eateries beforehand - highly recommend doing this. You can order online and select a time for pickup - worked out perfectly so that we had our full 90 min table time. It was a 30 degree day, but we still sat outside in their nice, distanced courtyard. The beer was excellent. I'm not usually an IPA girl, but loved the Hang Time. Not too hoppy. Their website is very helpful and made me feel prepared for our visit. We'll be back! read more

Remnant is part of the cool new Bow Market in Somerville, which features food vendors on the bottom floor and arts & crafts, vintage and other vendors on the upper floor. I tried 4 of their 6 available beers. Numerology (a lactose stout with cold-brewed Barrington 413 coffee; 7.4%, 13oz for $7.50) was pretty good with my pierogis from Jaju next door. Lo-Fi and Fest were less interesting to me. But of the 4, I thought the Dream Pop (smooth oat pale ale with juicy hops; 5.6%; 16 oz for $7) was the most amazing, particularly if you like American hops. Absolutely delicious and quaffable! They also serve coffee. Bow has plenty of patio seating to enjoy your snacks (pierogis, empanadas, bar pizza, macaroons...), but most excitingly, you can bring your food into Remnant Brewery to enjoy with your beer (seating inside and in a chained off area in front and a private patio behind the brewery). Not sure if you can bring non-Bow Market food into Remnant, but there's no need with the fun selection available next door. Obviously you can't drink your beer out of the designated areas. They also do growlers for take-home. Dogs are permitted in the back patio of Remnant too. Apparently, Bow's grand opening won't be until November (some vendors and still working on their spaces), but many vendors are already open. Just be sure to check their hours on the website, since it doesn't seem to be all day, every day, and varies between vendors. Bow and Remnant are awesome additions to Somerville! read more

I came here with somewhat high expectations based on the Yelp rating (albeit with limited history), and I was thoroughly impressed. My favorite beers were the Exam Room 2 (6.8 ABV IPA with a mix of hops), Garage Rock (lighter lager), and the Dream Pop (pale ale). I also had the Bow St Session, which was a bit too sour for my liking. You'll notice similar tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and peach throughout their lineup. Inside there is ample space with adequate seating, and the middle corridor area has direct line of sight into the brew-making processes. The patio area in the middle of new, trendy Bow St is perfect. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. I plan to come back. read more

Remnant seems to have the friendliest bartenders out there compared to other local brewery offerings. Each time I've been there, I always get top notice service. The inside is a decent size, and when it's nice out, the outdoor space seems to double the capacity. I've been to Remnant during events and other peak times and have always found a place to sit. A LOT of strollers here - a very family-friendly location. The brew operation is pretty small, and as a result, they have about 5-6 beers on tap at a time. I have a broad taste for beer and have sometimes found it challenging to find something I like - beer gets two stars from me. Overall, a friendly team, suitable for families, and located in an awesome complex that is Bow Market, but the beer selection isn't my favorite. read more

This place was hiding back an ally. The service was good. It's a typical Brewery, but they service coffee that was really good. Price is typical of any brewery. Definitely, try it outI got here 30 minutes early, before the event to beat traffic. So I was able to explore the Brewery. The staff were very friendly and explained alot about their coffee. I tried the Cafe Americana which was stronger and tasted better, then most espresso drinks that I had. The craft beers were good. The space junk was my favorite, but to be honest after a few to many the beers tasted the same. They were still good.
