Remnant is such a fun, welcoming spot! You can BYOF, so it's great to order a variety of treats from nearby businesses and enjoy them on their patio with some beers. In the past, we've grabbed grub from Bow Market restaurants Tanam, Hot Box, Buenas, and Saus. They regularly host events, like Trivia with Merideth on Mondays starting at 7pm! Meredith is an amazing trivia host, and the game is a blast with a great mix of questions along with music clues. The perfect way to spend time with a group of friends and beat those Monday Exhausties. My team got first place in trivia recently, and we won a $35 Remnant gift card, so I'll be back soon! This place is popping on a Saturday night. It was kind of tough to find a table around 7 pm. You can grab food around Bow Market and bring it here to enjoy your food and a drink! They have two sizes, but they give you the bigger size if you don't ask for the 8-ounce. I got the Dream Pop and my friends got the Space Junk and Diamond Lake DIPA and all 3 were full of flavor. A cool spot for a brewery! We went on a cold day but I can't imagine how nice it would be in the Spring or Summer. The brewery is located in Bow Market so you can have beer and order online from any of the spots within and easily walk over and get it! Lots of restaurants and shops right there. Remnant is one of my favorite breweries in the Boston / Cambridge / Somerville areas, both in terms of the quality of their beers (top notch!) and the vibe of their taproom. First of all, Bow Market is just an all-around fun spot for a brewery - there are lots of cute shops nearby for browsing and a handful of eateries where you can grab food to-go and bring it over to Remnant (Saus and Hot Box are both solid options if you're looking to grab food before - or while - you're at Remnant). When you first enter Remnant Brewing, the space looks deceptively small, but don't be fooled - in addition to the bar up front, there is also one out back, alongside a decent-sized patio. We've been here for trivia night on Mondays and had an absolute blast - the patio space is perfect for trivia, and they also have a bit of seating at the bar. The trivia host was great, and we loved the creative music clues they gave! The bartender in the back was also SO nice - super friendly and he made us feel right at home. He allowed us to sample a few beers over the course of the night and had great recommendations. My personal favorite beer was the Sour Sol, but one of my favorite things about Remnant is that, unlike some breweries, they don't skew too heavily in one direction (e.g. all IPAs, all stouts, etc.) - they truly have a mix of a little of everything! It seems they usually have 2-3 sours on tap as well, which I greatly appreciate. I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to make many more visits back to Remnant! read more

Remnant is a great spot to grab a beer (ahem, okay, let's be honest, beers*). It's tucked in Bow Market, but once you enter there are seats both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor patio is fantastic and dog friendly, which is nice considering many other breweries no longer allow dogs on their premises. The beer here can be hit or miss for me here, but I have really enjoyed their IPAs and sours recently. There is also a coffee/espresso bar in the front of the brewery (inside when you enter from the Bow Market area, not the Remnant outdoor patio in the back). While there seems to be more outdoor seating than indoor, I've never had trouble finding a spot to sit and sip in good or bad weather. Atmosphere: The brewery has a lively, but chill vibe - one that has enough hustle and bustle, but easy to sit and have a conversation (one where you actually hear your friends). Food: You can bring your own food and there are a number of places to grab something both in Bow Market and around Union Square. Note: you cannot order Remnant beers from the central/generic Bow Market seating area, you need to sit inside the brewery or on (in?) Remnant's patio. read more

We are so spoiled in Union Square/Somerville. So many great breweries nearby, and Remnant now adds to that list. Located on the ground floor at Bow Market, it anchors and brings together the whole space. Remnant offers several of their own beers on tap (so far, heavy on ipas and pales, which is excellent by me) as well as coffee by Barrington's. The space is very welcoming and has ample seating both inside and out (most of the latter being in the back patio, but a couple seats sectioned off in the main courtyard.) While I think they have a few small, pre-made items to snack on, the idea is really that you'd bring in food from one of the vendors operating out of the stalls at Bow Market. Unfortunately, that is taking some time to get up and running, with only Maca currently open. However, the soon to be open vendors have been doing pop-up tables in the courtyard itself to give a little teaser of what's to come. If you go on a weekend, it's very likely you can grab some delicious fries from Saus and pair them up with a hazy beer at Remnant. Remnant is currently only offering beers on-site, but have mentioned they might do crowler options in the future. So if you want to check them out, stop by for a couple pints; you won't be disappointed. read more

Remnant is part of the cool new Bow Market in Somerville, which features food vendors on the bottom floor and arts & crafts, vintage and other vendors on the upper floor. I tried 4 of their 6 available beers. Numerology (a lactose stout with cold-brewed Barrington 413 coffee; 7.4%, 13oz for $7.50) was pretty good with my pierogis from Jaju next door. Lo-Fi and Fest were less interesting to me. But of the 4, I thought the Dream Pop (smooth oat pale ale with juicy hops; 5.6%; 16 oz for $7) was the most amazing, particularly if you like American hops. Absolutely delicious and quaffable! They also serve coffee. Bow has plenty of patio seating to enjoy your snacks (pierogis, empanadas, bar pizza, macaroons...), but most excitingly, you can bring your food into Remnant Brewery to enjoy with your beer (seating inside and in a chained off area in front and a private patio behind the brewery). Not sure if you can bring non-Bow Market food into Remnant, but there's no need with the fun selection available next door. Obviously you can't drink your beer out of the designated areas. They also do growlers for take-home. Dogs are permitted in the back patio of Remnant too. Apparently, Bow's grand opening won't be until November (some vendors and still working on their spaces), but many vendors are already open. Just be sure to check their hours on the website, since it doesn't seem to be all day, every day, and varies between vendors. Bow and Remnant are awesome additions to Somerville! read more

Solid afternoon here with friends. We ordered food at one of the Bow Market eateries beforehand - highly recommend doing this. You can order online and select a time for pickup - worked out perfectly so that we had our full 90 min table time. It was a 30 degree day, but we still sat outside in their nice, distanced courtyard. The beer was excellent. I'm not usually an IPA girl, but loved the Hang Time. Not too hoppy. I came here with somewhat high expectations based on the Yelp rating (albeit with limited history), and I was thoroughly impressed. My favorite beers were the Exam Room 2 (6.8 ABV IPA with a mix of hops), Garage Rock (lighter lager), and the Dream Pop (pale ale). I also had the Bow St Session, which was a bit too sour for my liking. You'll notice similar tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and peach throughout their lineup. Inside there is ample space with adequate seating, and the middle corridor area has direct line of sight into the brew-making processes. The patio area in the middle of new, trendy Bow St is perfect. Remnant seems to have the friendliest bartenders out there compared to other local brewery offerings. Each time I've been there, I always get top notice service. The inside is a decent size, and when it's nice out, the outdoor space seems to double the capacity. I've been to Remnant during events and other peak times and have always found a place to sit. A LOT of strollers here - a very family-friendly location. The brew operation is pretty small, and as a result, they have about 5-6 beers on tap at a time. I have a broad taste for beer and have sometimes found it challenging to find something I like - beer gets two stars from me. Overall, a friendly team, suitable for families, and located in an awesome complex that is Bow Market, but the beer selection isn't my favorite. read more

I tried the Cafe Americana which was stronger and tasted better, then most espresso drinks that I had. The craft beers were good. The space junk was my favorite, but to be honest after a few to many the beers tasted the same. They were still good. Really unpleasant customer service. We made a reservation for a table, but when we got there they tried to seat us at the bench/railing with a little metal stool in front of it.
