For our twentieth wedding anniversary my husband and I tried axe throwing and we ended the night by walking across to Bronwyn for a traditional German dinner to celebrate all the bullseyes . We were in luck because it was so quiet. The bar was full but the tables were not and we were able to sit outside on the side patio. It was great weather and not too loud. The service was very attentive and I was able to try three draught beers in tiny boot shaped shot glasses including an interesting Smokey one before settling on the house lager which is my comfort zone. When we were leaving the party at the bar was taking group shots off a SKI . The service was great, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was fun. I'd definitely go back and I recommend highly!

Went for the special Oktoberfest menu. Seating was outside under heaters, which made for a brisk but comfortable meal. Great German beers on tap and the food was all excellent. My husband got the king's feast and was stuffed on about half of it. I got the shnitzel with warm potato salad. Dessert was a German chocolate custard. Service was festive,in dirndls and lederhosen, and also very attentive, even outside. Recommend!

Cute little place in Somerville with fun Oktoberfest vibes and decor. The schnitzel was good and it was large enough for two people. The portions were big and could be shared with a full table.

German style bar foods, plated very aesthetically. We got pretzel, wieners, potato pancakes, mushroom flatbread. Everything came out very quickly and tasted great. We sat at the outdoor picnic tables and it was such a cute secluded seating area. Cocktails were great and decently strong!

Love a fun decorated restaurant and this was exactly that! It was a whole woodsy German pub feel that my friends and I were so craving one particular weekday! From their ambiance to food and drinks, everything was spectacular! I felt like I was transported out of Mass! I got their spitzle, a thick flour like pasta that's pan friend which was such an interesting and fun texture and so good! My friend got the schnitzel which was giving jollibees mushroom patty if you've ever been there, and I relished every second of chewing that thing! I wish I could've seen this place decked out for Oktoberfest, I'm sure they go crazy with it!

Overall: what a vibe! Never been to Germany but this spot has some classics! Obviously can't pronounce half the dishes, but the beers and grub are can't miss. Food: start off with a classic pretzel and dip in the mustard or cheese. It ain't your normal Auntie Anne's as it has that chewiness typical of pretzel that's been freshly made. The Spaetzle is incredibly interesting as it's basically poutine disguised as potato pasta noodles. It's still pretty delicious as it has that gooey cheesy bacon mix with a mix of some curds? The Schnitzel is a whopping pork cutlet that has a really flavorful mushroom bechamel like sauce. The pork itself isn't too dry and it's done pretty thinly so the fry is incredibly crisp. It also comes with two huge scoops of potatoes. Dijon mustard really brings out the best in the potato. Drinks: huge range of beers and their Weihenstaphen comes in three different boot sizes! The cocktails were also pretty tasteful as well. Ambience/Service/Decor: I'm surprised there were no Munich or Dortmund banners hanging as it had the sort of vibe. The service was incredibly quick and nice giving our large party space to finish the food and enjoying the time.

We walked in later in the evening and got seats outside. The server was nice. I got the Stiegl, a refreshing grapefruit radler, and we shared the Langos. The Langos was delicious.

Stopped by here after axe-throwing across the street and am so glad I finally got around to trying this spot! It's a cute German bar/biergarten and restaurant with a fun atmosphere and great food. I definitely won't claim to be an expert on German food, but we were all super happy with our experience, and I would definitely visit again. We started with the pretzel and haus sausage appetizers. The best part of the pretzel was the sauces, but the sausage was sooo tasty. The spicy mustard served with both was spot on - I would buy this stuff by the jar if they were selling it. For entrees, everyone opted for either the Brondog, Bronburger, or the Schnitzel. The schnitzel was my personal favorite, it was cooked perfectly with the creamiest mushroom sauce. (I later learned that Bronwyn's chef won an episode of Beat Bobby Flay with this dish a while back, pretty cool!) The Brondog is another famous dish, it was featured on the Travel Channel as one of America's best hot dogs, and it certainly didn't disappoint. As you can guess, everything here is pretty heavy and the entrees are served with a mountain of potatoes--definitely come hungry. The prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for. There's a nice beer and wine selection, and all the fun European decor and outdoor seating are the icing on the cake.

    Pretzel and pickled eggs

I really wanted to like this place but was sorely disappointed by both the food and by the mandatory 20% applied to the bill. My husband and I ordered their German pretzel with mustard and cheese sauce (11$ including the cheese sauce) the pickled eggs (7$) and a white wine for me and a non-alcoholic pineapple drink for him. The pretzel came out looking and feeling like it was frozen and just heated up. The exterior was chewy and interior was not soft. Cheese sauce was bland. Germany is known for their amazing pretzels and is simple to make, so the fact it wasn't even homemade made me rethink of coming back. You get two Pickled eggs sliced in half. They tasted decent but could have tasted more pickled. Drinks were fine. I felt for the price it was expensive for the quality. And the mandatory 20% tip no matter the service or number of people in your group was a turn off. Will be back maybe for the German beers and cute decor but that's it

Came here for the first time and the restaurant was doing a special menu and the whole restaurant was decorated for Oktoberfest. Food was delicious and the food came out ultra fast!! Server was excellent as well. We will be back!

Came here for brunch with a couple adults and a baby. I had made reservations ahead of time for a Sunday morning at 11am (right when they open). They were very accommodating and gave us a seat that would accommodate the bassinet. The menu is unique with lots of German classics, including their cocktail menu. The service was fast and attentive. Everything we ordered tasted great and they were able to accommodate menu changes due to food restrictions. Definitely will be back.

It was hard to choose one, but I got the A Perfect Circle and it was quite tasty. I'm eager to try some of their other drinks, since the cocktails were definitely the highlight of the experience for me. The dim sum portions were larger than I expected, which meant we ordered way too much food. We had the fried chicken, the cucumber salad, the shrimp, the pork wontons, the soy sauce noodles, the daikon/enoki dish (I forget the name) and the charred broccoli. There wasn't anything I didn't like, but I did find that the flavor profile seemed very similar for many of the items--it seemed like most things were topped with a generous portion of chili oil, scallions, and sesame seeds. I found that this contributed to a fairly uniform flavor experience and was getting a little weary of chili oil after several dishes. The food was also spicier than I anticipated (though to be fair, I have a low spice tolerance, so others might disagree.) I would have enjoyed some less spicy options to balance out our meal. Overall, all the food was good, though, but I think if I come back I'd get fewer items (3-4 would have been plenty for 2 people) and that might also help with everything blurring together. The service was great and our waitstaff was helpful and attentive.

We ordered quickly after perusing the (rather short) menu, most of which was either small plates and cocktails . Our first plate was the hainan chicken arancini. I really liked the contrast in textures between the crispy exterior and the tender chicken and rice mix on the inside. Overall flavour was not bad, too, but I'm not sure that it was exactly good enough to merit the price point of $18. Next was the Xi'an street noodles, which was probably my favourite dish of the meal. The noodles were very well cooked - chewy but not too soft - and I loved the sauce, with the gentle peanut aroma on top of the various spices they used. One comment was that the chilli crisp, which was tasty, was very lacking (in amount) and as a consequence the dish was really not spicy at all. Finally we had the chilli crisp buffalo chicken. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chicken was boneless (I was expecting something more like chicken wings), which made for very clean eating :) The buffalo sauce was nice (and perhaps a bit spicier than the aforementioned chilli crisp) and the chicken itself was very rich and juicy. Portion size was quite large too and overall I was very happy with this plate. For drinks we ordered the Jaded, which was a fun matcha-themed cocktail (even the marshmallow was matcha-flavoured) and a (spirit-free) cranberry limeade, which was surprisingly refreshing and sweet. Overall a yummy meal, but definitely very expensive. I would be interested to try some more of their cocktails, which seem very creative, but I'm not sure if I would be keen to come again primarily for the food. I did love the home fries - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and very well seasoned. The toast tasted like grocery store bread, so that was a little disappointing for the price. So to sum up: on the positive side, ambiance and service were great. Home fries were delicious. Portions were generous. On the meh side, omelette and bread were bland (plus they were no longer hot by the time they came out, so that was strange).
