A fantastic brewery that is doing a superb job in the post-covid era. We felt immediately welcomed and safe throughout our visit. The beer is excellent as always. I find the dream pop to be my typical favorite and a great oat-y variation on the standard hoppy New England style. Food from Bow Market can be ordered and delivered through an online interface. All told, their courtyard is a welcome oasis away from the covid stress and I could not recommend a visit more highly. read more

Really unpleasant customer service. We made a reservation for a table, but when we got there they tried to seat us at the bench/railing with a little metal stool in front of it. I thought it was a joke. Everyone else was seated at normal tables. When we asked about it, they claimed that was their "table" of day-of reservations. I don't know what nonsense they're trying to pull, but it was misleading, uncomfortable, and their response was borderline rude. Needless to say, we left immediately. read more

Wonderful having this new microbrewery within walking distance to where I live. My husband and I came on a hot sunny Saturday afternoon, and sat at a breezy spot, which was quite comfortable. There are two bars that are both next to an open patio, and there's a "bar" in between that is in front of the tanks (see photo). The bar where we sat was smaller and less busy, but was cooler due to the shade on that side. I started out with the Bow Street Session, which is a very light and tropical ale that is a 4.9% abv. I also got an iced coffee, and they surprisingly didn't interfere with each other. My husband started with the Dream Pop -- a super tasty pale (6%) that he liked a lot. They were served in really cool aluminum can-type cups (see other photo). These keep your beer nice and cold in the heat! Other beers we had: Beginner's Mind, a dark ale that's drier than you'd expect but still rich in flavor (6.5%); Space Junk, a subtle sour that has a nice mango twang (6%); and the Clip Art Citra, a brilliant IPA with mosaic and city hops (7.2%). We had nice conversations with the staff here, and can't wait to go back again soon! Next time we'll come hungry and get some of the food for sale nearby. I was jealous of the Saus fries I saw other people having. There was also a lovely pop-up set up that had amazing looking pastries. I hear that they will be there every Saturday. read more

It's Sommerville, so parking will give you nightmares, but this place is definitely worth it! Great setup inside this hidden shopping district! Unique space tucked into the building that leads to their own back dog-friendly patio. The kicker is their beers are EXCELLENT. I tried a couple and loved them both. Their porter drinks very cleanly and has a nice smoky coffee thing going on. They don't do flights, but they will let you try stuff. I loved the beer and really isn't that the only reason to give a brewery 5 stars!? read more

Checked out this new brewery with a buddy. Tucked away around a corner in Union Square in a new courtyard area. Brewery was much bigger than anticipated as it opens up in the back with a back patio. Looks like a nice spot for the warm summer nights. Beer list was small but all sounded great. Had the Tangerine Kush and thought it was really solid. Would definitely come back here again to try the rest of their rotating line. Feel this place will be a great new addition to the Union Square area. read more

We got to visit on our trip up to visit my grandma. I was super excited this place was so close and couldn't wait to try it. Coffee in the am and beer is the way to go! The brewery was super cozy and I thought it was cool how open it was. There's literally a bar to sit at right by the tanks. You could smell the beer and I don't mean like old bar smell, lol. If we lived there we would def be regulars. The beers were fantastic. My husband even like an IPA and he's typically not an IPA drinker. They look like they have a lot of potential and from what I could see a staff that cares and wants to be there. Great service and great beer! Go!! read more

Not the biggest of breweries, but larger than you would expect from the outside. Set in the corner of the very charming Bow Market at Union Square, this place offers great hoppy beer as well as a solid selection of saisons, sours and stouts. Plenty of food nearby, like Saus, if needed. They do have a patio, which I will have to return for when it gets warmer. read more

Not a bad brewery place, but idk if they make their actual beer. Came here before a comedy show to chill and have some beers. They have about 10 beers on tap and I liked that they offered two sizes, a 13 oz and an 8 oz. I decided to get the 8oz to be able to try some different ones. I didn't like that they didn't have flights since most "breweries" have them but since they offer 8oz I settled for that since it's bigger than your typical flight size which is 5oz, for about the same price. I got the Clip Art, Candy Mountain and Dream Pop. Clip Art was an IPA which I love and found very delicious. Candy Mountain was a double IPA, which wasn't too bad but I wasn't a fan of the after taste. Dream Pop was a pale ale which might have been my fave. read more

This review is solely for those looking to enjoy beer while at Bow Market. We bought a four pack of beer here and my husband misunderstood the register worker as saying that you could have a can of beer you purchased as long as it's on their patio but when I asked about getting a seat at the patio they proceeded to tell us no, you can't have these particular beers anywhere here, they are only for home but you can buy the same beer on tap to have on the patio. only difference is it's in a glass....Seems a little like they take advantage of people since the 4 pack is cheaper per beer and one glass of draft is so much higher in price per oz. Seems like they want to make more money off you because why would you restrict the same exact beer from being enjoyed on premises just cuz it's in a can... probably cuz it's cheaper. Just something to keep in mind if you come here. read more

Ordered drinks with a few friends at Remnant Brewing on Saturday night. Very good beers in a cool space that found the groove of safe, but still enjoyable. Quality: While hanging out at Remnant Brewing I tried Crispr Malfunction, Lunar Glow, Remnants From The Ashes, and Ego Death 2020. The two sour beers were solid, but Remnants From The Ashes, a juicy New England IPA was the consensus pick of our group. Even our non-IPA drinker found something special about it. Ego Death 2020, a barrel aged sour is also a gem if you are a little more adventurous in your selections. For food, you are encouraged to order from the multitude of places in the market, we opted for charcuterie, but plenty of great options existed. Quantity: Beer served in actual glassware was a wonderful surprise. There is just something special of beer from the tap served in the proper container. Value: $7-$10 for a Draft of Beer, depending on beer choice. Ambiance: Remnant Brewing is located within Bow Market in Somerville, Massachusetts. And currently, it is providing support for all the smaller businesses struggling around it. Located in a corner of the outdoor shopping area, you need to walk through the indoor space to reach the brewery's outdoor patio. I did see two tables inside in use, so they appear to be easing in that direction. Plenty of tables with umbrellas were spaced out in the outdoor area and pop music played over the speakers. And as you enjoy your beer, you can order food from a dozen surrounding locations to snack on. Crowd: Busy, but not filled. A few tables sat empty and even though tables were reserved for specific time periods, people were encouraged to stick around longer. Service: Other than a small hiccup with their new outside food ordering system, the COVID changes put into place by Remnant seemed perfect. Add in a fantastic bartender who made sure our drinks were always filled, including one last round after technically closing, and it is about as good service as you can hope for. Every time I've been to Remnant I've been impressed with the service, ambiance (brewery & Bow Market itself), and the beer & coffee. Now that more of the food vendors have been opening & operating on a consistent basis it makes it even more appealing to stop by, enjoy a beer, pierogi, and good company. They have taps/beer in two places in the establishment, plenty of room (provided it's not an event night or weekend evening), outlets & WiFi available as well. Their beer selection is still growing, but I've enjoyed almost everything I've had there. Definitely a bit more focused on IPAs and ales at the moment, but they have a great selection of easy drinking craft brews! read more

It's a small place and very limited inside seating. If you aren't in the beer mood they also sell coffee and other non alcoholic drinks. Great community vibe at this brewery in Bow Market! Remnant is located in Bow Market in Somerville with an indoor space and outside patio (dog friendly!). Though the space is not huge, there is ample seating with bar tables, a few larger tables, and outside seating. Remnant offers a smaller beer list featuring a few IPAs, a wheat beer, and a sour. I bought the Groupon for $40 worth and we visited on a rainy Sunday. You can choose from either a 8oz or 16oz pour from any of the beers as well as growlers to take home. I chose the farmhouse ale and then the mango sour. Both were easy to drink and had good flavor. My husband tried an IPA and a bourbon barrel ale that was full of bourbon flavor (this would be hard to drink in the 16oz!). We also took home two of their glasses! The service was very friendly and they encourage you to bring in your own food. They do have a few pastry options and serve Barrington coffee. This is a great addition to Bow Market! read more

I think this place has potential, once they expand their beer menu and the market gets up and running. When we were there, they only had 3 of their beers (didn't update their menu to indicate what they were out of), but the beers we did try seem decent- my favorite was the sour, which I thought was well-balanced. The space is comfortable, with lots of space to spread out including a dog-friendly back patio, and the staff is friendly. And for those who don't imbibe, they have a full coffee menu (and the coffee smelled amazing). Once Bow Market gets more tenants, it'll be great to be able to grab some food from another vendor and sit with a beer on the patio- I always appreciate being able to eat and drink at my leisure without being bothered by waitstaff or being pushed out by others eying your table. read more

My wife, sister, and close friend went to Remnant this Saturday, 8/4. The place was pretty busy - especially the outside patio. I enjoyed the beers, and the atmosphere. We played some games inside, and also took advantage of Jaju pierogies being available in the Bow St market. Saus was also on-site at Remnant itself, serving up some delicious poutine. I have two minor complaints: A) The acoustics inside are very loud, when you consider the number of people and the level of actual speaking volume. We were in the front room near the coffee bar with only one other group (that were not loud), but it sounded like a packed bar. B) They need to make better use of the outside space for seating. They have 5 or 6 tables that can seat 4 people, but 4 out of the 5 were occupied by twosomes. This leads to many wasted seats. They should replace these with a more communal set-up, such as picnic tables. That said, we had a great time and will add Remnant to our stable of breweries. They also allow dogs outside which is great. read more

When I'm in Union this is usually my go-to spot. I like Remnant Brewery. Good location to grab a local beer and chow down on some of the nearby eateries. Place always has plenty of seating and is immaculate for a bar. There beer is pretty good too and reasonably priced. Service is pretty good. Will definitely be back. read more

This review is only 3 stars really for the lack of ambiance. There are so many breweries that look stripped down and industrial. The look here is similar, and while the patio is a nice option, it is surrounded on all sides by the (mostly not yet open) storefronts of Bow Market, which gives it a bit of a prison yard feel. Some flowers or art would be a nice addition to the space. The staff are nice and the beer is decent. read more

We went to remnant brewery for the yelp event! It was very cozy and the beer was on point. The price point was just as good as the usual Boston brewery. The location was really cute. Good beer but the staff and atmosphere are lacking. I love the industrial look but this place needs something more...like art work or something to look at....it's just bland and boring. The same goes for the staff. I'm sure they know about the beers but they don't seem like any beer drinkers I know...at least the two who were working this past Friday afternoon (a young Asian man and a young mixed race woman). Between the two of them they almost put me to sleep. If you want a good beer in a boring environment with boring bartenders then come on down to Remnant for a mediocre time. Unfortunately as we were leaving it looked like some decent staff were coming on so maybe I missed the good crew. I'll give it another shot some other time and update my review if things have changed. read more

I would not come here again. The staff doesn't communicate with each other, so, not exaggerating, someone came to our table every 3-5 minutes to tell us how many minutes we had left at the table. First time I went here I loved there beers but no food as Bow Market had not really opened up. Now with the Market open and we brought some food over to Remnant this place is out of this world. Great beer and great food next door. Great Combo. Cannot go wrong on the IPA's. read more
