Good beer place but I was disappointed with decaf iced coffee. It was so diluted. It is not a coffee place. No decaf options for cappuccino or espresso, which was surprising in Mass. I had brunch menu burger and it was so greasy I wouldn't come back. I wanted to order regular menu stuff which I saw on Yelp before, but it was not available until 2 pm. Service was good. Beers are generally solid, staff is friendly. Food is (usually?) BBQ from a local vendor, and it's pretty good. I've also had their breakfast sandwich one weekend morning and it was lethal in the best way: hash browns, cheese, runny egg... drool. As a New Yorker visiting Boston I was delighted to stumble across this excellent local brewery that is open for breakfast - lattes and egg sandwiches and pastries -- and gives off Cobble Hill (Brooklyn, IYKYK) vibes -- super casual and actually of the neighborhood, politicians come once a month for open "office hours" to chat with constituents. Menu is blissfully limited and pastries are fresh and gorgeous (i had a cranberry orange muffin I'd call juicy and fluffy!) you order at a counter, pick up and go to one of the not-too-many seats. Came here for trivia (Thursdays at 7:30!), and it was pretty packed. Luckily we were able to snag a table and ordered some beers. The workers are all very nice and there's a real sense of community here! A very homey and welcoming spot. The latkes were also delicious- tangy, savory, and not too greasy. Great atmosphere! We sat at the bar and the staff was nice and joked around but also let us gab. The food was YUM. the burrito was so filling so i'd like to try the sandwiches next. The beer was also good. tl;dr great spot whether you're in the mood for an afternoon work session or drinks with your friends. Will be back! My partner and I went to Winter Hill Brewing Co on a rainy Saturday afternoon after spotting it on Google Maps. Once inside, we were warmly greeted by the bartender and provided a menu of both food and drink. We ended up opting for a flight of beers to try out the selection, and wow: every single one was a hit! Usually, in a flight of 4 beers, you don't get hits on all 4, but that's what happened. While their beers rotate, both the Sun Buzz IPA and Hot Garbage Passion Fruit Seltzer were part of the mix. Not to mention that the bartender was super informative and friendly. We got some food, specifically the Kimchi Latkes, which were tasty as well, though the beers were the highlight. They also serve coffee which we'll have to try at a later time. The ambiance was balanced for any occasion. Some other patrons were working on laptops when we arrived around 3pm, and by the time we'd left by 6pm, several tables were occupied with friends meeting up for drinks and/or families getting some food too. Come for Wednesday fried chicken!!! We had the best time! We had a group of 6 and ordered the chicken sandwich & chicken platters. All were delicious. It wasn't the best fried chicken I've had but it was very good. The mac and cheese was sooo cheesy. Loved it. Biscuits were also delicious. I had the sun buzz, lil hoppy, quite good. I used to live in this neighborhood. It was nice to visit my old stomping grounds and see this business thriving. It was a cold and snowy Saturday but people were still at the brewery! We walked in dressed like assholes for a concert we were going to that night. People barely flinched. Love how accepting Somerville folk are. Cozy interior. Friendly staff. Plenty of choices for beer. I didn't have any beer so no comment there but I did have the mac & cheese. Tasty, creamy and loaded with I believe panko on top. I loved the crunch element. After one dine-in experience and 2 takeout experiences, here's my rating, 3.7 out of 5 stars. Food: The biscuit was delicious. I was just disappointed that only half a biscuit is included with a full rack of ribs when it's included at all. Pork ribs are good, solid ribs! They're well cooked but not fall off the bone. There's a slight spice that builds as you eat. The pickles are sweet with some heat. The mac & cheese is ok, noodles were very over cooked, the cheese sauce was clumpy. One thing I was super taken aback by was the lack of kid friendly options, no fries. We asked for the hot dog plain for our 4 year old and were surprised to find that the sausage was spicy, it had what seemed like mustard seeds in it. Very surprised by this given the amount of children I see here all the time. Beer is good. I've tried the hot trash which despite the name is delicious and refreshing. Nice space and atmosphere, very low key and chill. A great neighborhood hangout spot. read more

Came here to check out some live music during a festival in Somerville and was really impressed by the overall vibes of the place. But apart from the spacious seating arrangements both inside and outside and the delicious selection of beers, this place really stood out to me for the following reasons: 1. They have their own espresso machine AND can make almond milk lattes until at least 2 PM. This was really a life savor for me as both the brunch place I went to earlier that day at an apple farm and the bakery across the street did not offer coffee! This was an exciting win in my book. 2. They offer booster seats, how kid friendly is that. This place really supports strong family values and helped us our in a bind with my friends 14 month old daughter. 3. If beer is not your thing, order a refreshing seltzer! And not just any seltzer, but the fancy kind including bubbly (love that brand!) 4. If you prefer biking as you main mode of transportation, rest assured you can leave it here unattended and at least the culture here supports that no one will steal it! I recently relocated to Somerville with my daughter, and we wandered into Winter Hill Brewing for lunch. The food was outstanding (that egg bahn mi is fantastic), and the beer was great. MOST importantly...they were playing literally all Guided By Voices song for the entire time I was there. I mean, DEEP CUTS FROM EPs. I love them to death, and almost told the waitress this but realized that would be creepy so I didn't. Anyway, you should go there and eat because the food is awesome and the soundtrack is great, and the wait staff is super nice. read more

Stopped in starving after a nearby doctor appointment at noon that I had to fast for. I ordered a cappuccino and chicken salad roll, not expecting much given it's primarily a brew pub. There were clearly some regulars around and the place was about half full. The coffee guy at the counter wasn't too friendly, didn't make eye contact, but man, that was a GOOD cappuccino: perfect temperature, perfect froth, excellent strong espresso with absolutely no bitterness. Better than some recent fancy coffeshop capps I've had. I forgive him but maybe he'll look up once I become a regular lol? Biked around Boston and stopped by this brewery in Somerville. Was really glad we stopped by! They have an outdoor standing patio that had live music performances that Saturday. They don't have an overwhelming tap list so getting a flight was easy -- they do require at least two people present to share a flight. Food was pretty standard, but all fresh and fast. Be ready to fight your way to the bar counter as it goes get crowded! Great brewery and I'd stop by again. read more

This place confused me and was just overall too small for its own good. It'd be better suited to be a pure pub/brewery format rather than trying to sell food too. The environment made it hard to get a table/seat and then get food. Waited about 30 min to get a counter spot and you could see people who were there ahead of us were confused about how to get a spot--you have to put your name up on the blackboard. The servers were really accommodating given the situation but it was not really staffed to serve food. Ordered the burger w/o a bun, the bf got a burger w/ fries, and we split mac n cheese. Food was tasty and fresh but nothing special. Fries were hand cut but not as crispy as I like them. Burger was well seasoned and cooked to specification. Overall I think I would have enjoyed coming here just to drink or coming to eat at a different time when it's less slammed. read more
