I never would write a bad review but I came in for a hot dog and the lady didn't offer me any condiments for my hot dog. And then when I asked for sauerkraut / ketchup and mustard .. she said I DONT KNOW ASK THE CHEF . She's the waitress , Tita with an amnesty rainbow letter shirt was black , straight across bangs with a bad attitude .. After reading through most of the reviews of this restaurant, my interest was peaked! A few friends and myself decided to stop by and see what the buzz was all about.. Oh boy. I'd like to start on a positive note and say our server(s) was lovely, and very diligent at keeping the coffee hot and the water full; but... the food is another story, I think it is ridiculously priced for the quality that is served. We tried a variety of breakfast dishes and all came to the same unsatisfactory conclusion. Most of our food was cold or stale, which I wouldn't care for if I wasn't spending so much money! Please read all the reviews saying this place is not good. I'm sorry, I usually wouldn't review like this as I know a business is someone's livelihood BUT there is obviously an ongoing issue. Our server was amazing. She was quick, attentive and really sweet. But the food is awful. My pancakes had a rubbery texture and I can guarantee the link sausages cannot be any type of real meat. PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS PLACE. I know you might be in the area and trying to find a restaurant that has a patio and wanting to enjoy this beautiful summer at this beautiful lake. This only good thing about this place is that it's got an outdoor seating so you can eat while enjoying the weather. But the food and the service over here are tremendously terrible. You could go to some other restaurants like the German bar beside this. Ordered their fish & chips, bacon burger, onion rings and nachos. They all taste like frozen food. On top of that, the server kept on forgetting our orders when he actually wrote the orders down. We ordered onion rings and coca cola. We waited for a long time. We asked the same server and he told us we did not order that. We told him we confirmed with him and he started to remember but never apologized. This place gets a well deserved 4/5. Pretty close to getting a 5. Seated quickly, coffee arrived fast and no shortage of refills. Food also arrived timely and was really good. Eggs were poached perfectly and farmer sausage was great. Only down side is the price. However, there are limited options for breakfast this time of year and you are in a "resort" town. So I suppose it makes sense. We paid $55 with tip for 2 coffees, 1 regular eggs benny and 1 famers eggs benny. Alright, mix reviews for me about this place. The first time I went to this place food was terrible, I didn't like it all, it tasted very mediocre and something just thrown together without care. I went for a second time and ordered fish and chips, cheese and chicken quesadillas and I might say, not to bad. I enjoyed my lunch, I'm from the city and usually I would have expected the bill to run up to 70$ for three people but I paid 50$ for 3 meals and drinks. Big mistake. $3.95 for a dollop of sour cream, odd tasting bacon and a few sprinkles of gren onion. Ham was my meat choice which was utterly inedible. I think it was a piece of sandwich meat warmed up on the grill. Sunny side eggs were too runny. Toast was not greased up with real butter. My partner tried the omlette king. This and a juice landed us at $34. Grossly overpriced for the breakfast quality. Ambiance was not my cup of tea. The burger we ordered that was like $13 dollars was like a Mc Donalds happy meal burger with some onion rings on it, why nothing was horrible about it. I'm sorry I wasted one of my weekend getaway meals here. We stopped in because it looked like a cute diner-style place to grab lunch. I ordered the Caesar salad, which was watery with bottled dressing and dry croutons. My bf actually liked his club sandwich a lot, but the fries tasted like they'd been triple fried in old oil and left to harden. The service was just strange. It was a young girl so maybe she was new or nervous - it wasn't a language barrier as she spoke perfect English. This is how it went when she tried to take our order. Her: Audibly sighs and takes out her notepad. "What can I get you?" Me: "Can we have a few more minutes?" Her: Stands there silently, pen poised over notepad. "Yes?" I used to come here with my family as a teenager for fish and chips, because it was an absolutely great little diner with delicious food, but I guess it has changed owners, or management, or something critical. It's nowhere near the same now. The food was edible. Not awful. The SERVICE, however, was probably the worst I've ever had. It was grand in size but a little bland on its own - no vanilla or cinnamon here. Although they use and re-use plastic syrup bottles, I believe they are filled with an actually good *real* maple syrup, which caught me off guard. Avoid if at all possible -- this place has gone downhill since I was there last which was about 6 yrs ago. Where to start... the only positive is that we were promptly seated. Otherwise: SEVERELY over-priced for such a memorable experience (sarcastic roll of the eyes). Definitely worse dining experience! There were two flies in the restaurant that keep buzzing around our table when we were having our meal. The server came once to refill our terrible, bland, stale coffee given to you in a mini cup. Despite the fact me shoeing the flies away from our table in front of the server, he was totally oblivious and didn't acknowledge our plight. To top that off, the coffee cream/milk came warm. Fortunately, we were able to use the honey. The service was non existent! There were two servers for a diner that was 1/2 empty at dinner time. The experience was as follows: 1) seated 2) took our order 3) brought us our coffee and water 4) brought our food 5) came by to refill the coffee once 6) we promptly paid our bill and left 7) questionable 10% tip (I don't think they even deserved that) Food: Fish and Chips and their specialty burger. Cod is average -- very hard to screw up deep fried cod and fries, but they managed to do it. The fries were very hard like its been reheated or re-fried to many times, but I could not figure out why. The coleslaw was bland and I couldn't taste anything except raw cabbage. Green peas was bland, didn't think those could be screwed up, but they managed to do it. Specialty burger was small and very bland. My wife said she couldn't even taste the beef. I didn't try it myself, but I didn't think a burger could go so wrong... they managed to f'it up too! Last time I will ever dine there unless there is new management and there are some great Yelp reviews. That was my fatal mistake, I should have used Yelp instead of relying on my previous experience. This is not meant to be an insult to McDonald's since I am using them as a comparison, but for a rating to give you a better idea: McDs: 4/10, this diner 1/10!! In conculsion, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!! I've been coming to Harrison for over 20 years and the Lakeview Restaurant used to be the only restaurant reasonably priced in this area. Yes, it was always a bit of a dive, but the food was adequate and it had a nice view of the lake. This year my wife and I returned to Harrison and thought we'd eat here one night. Checking the hard-to-read, sun-bleached menu on the window (which probably works in their favour) we noticed they jacked up their prices... almost double. Even though it has a lake view, for a dive restaurant it was far too expensive. Fifteen dollars for a bacon cheeseburger? No thanks. We ended up driving 10 minutes to Agassiz and getting food there. read more

I didn't check the reviews from Yelp until we had already ordered so I was a little scared of what we'd end up getting. I shouldn't have worried. The food was fine. I ordered a normal breakfast with bacon, 2 eggs and toast. My sister had the omelette, shared with my nephew. I don't remember why my brother-in-law had but I remember that it looked really good too. The service was fine, the meal was good, the price was fine. For 3 adults, it was around $40 and we all walked out of the restaurant full and happy. They brought us 4 waters which made my nephew quite happy (20 month old babies can be demanding) and re-filled my coffee. Much cheaper than the hotel breakfast buffet. The only real criticism I have is the lighting. Their lighting is a string of lights through the restaurant and it changes colours. It's oddly distracting and kind of hurt my eyes in the beginning. I think if light changes adversely affect you, you might not want to come here or send someone in to grab take-out. But otherwise, it's a fine option for breakfast. read more

Simply the worst breakfast ever, I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs, my wife ordered two poached eggs and toast and my daughter the pancakes. My corned beef hash consisted of raw shredded bag potatoes with a slice of cut up luncheon meat mixed in with cold eggs. My wifes poached eggs came covered in a package yellow sauce, while the pancakes where thin as paper napkins and everything was cold. Whats worse is the high prices, freezing cold restaurant, even the server wore her north face fleece. Great location wasted on total lack of food care our knowledge. I would give it less than one star if I could. I've had better food at a concession stand. Was there today and my fiancé ordered the corned beef sandwich. The picture on the menu did not even remotely resemble what he got. Sad, limp pieces of bread and one thin piece of corned beef. He immediately went up to the server to ask for what was advertised. They brought over another slab of the meat on a plate and that was it. By the time he could finally start eating, his side of gravy was cold and congealed. He completely lost his appetite and just sent it back. I got the lake view burger which had decent flavour at first but then shortly came to realize it was a cheap frozen patty and it totally turned me off.
