This was a fun place to finally visit. We have driven by it many times and today we finally went in for breakfast. The food was a good portion for size and the sever was super friendly. We enjoyed reading about some of the people who were on the wall, especially James Dean. There's lots of parking behind the diner and the music was a classic selection of 50s classics. read more

Hands down the BEST DINNER in Maple Ridge.. had their meatloaf blue plate special, Salisbury steak, and smash burger. All three were spectacular! All three visits were a perfect hit! Great service. Quick service. Clean surroundings Affordable prices. Great atmosphere. And... amazing milkshakes A must to try if you are in Maple Ridge read more

Bobby Sox is an excellent 50s nostalgia diner, more so than Rocko's Diner in my opinion. Inside and out, the restaurant looks appropriately old-fashioned with its antiquated props, playlist of oldies music and a selection of food. I had the Roast Beef Dinner with their Shirley Temple. The beverage was vibrant with flavours and enjoyed every sip of it. The roast beef, on its own, was great and so were the mashed potatoes. The gravy that was topped withthe beef and potatoes was magnificent. Coming here from Mission was worth the extra mile and I cannot wait to come here again. read more

Driving through Maple Ridge BC today and stopped for a bite. Cute diner with indoor and outdoor seating. We had the grilled cheese and fries and the meatloaf dinner which came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Both were good. We drove by the last time we went to Jimmy's Lunch Box and was captivated by the old school diner style so we decided to come for a weekend lunch. We arrived and stood by the door for some time. The server by the bar seating area was taking an order for another customer, but there was another employee who saw us standing there. We thought she would acknowledge and seat us, but she proceeded to filling her ketchup bottles and left us standing until the other server was done taking the order. We thought she wasn't a server, but we noticed her seating waiting customers who came in after us so we're not sure why she didn't seat us despite seeing us standing and waiting. Prices are reasonable but the menu is quite basic - your typical diner food. My bf' got this tatter tots bowl and it was quite flavourful. My omelette was decent. It wasn't spectacular but the egg was fluffy. The hash brown was more like diced potatoes which could've benefitted from some seasoning, but it was crunchy. The toasted bread was a nice touch, but we found it over-buttered. We enjoyed the decor and vibes, but the food is average and service was substandard. read more

A recent breakfast stop for us on the way to a stay in Hope. 'Bobby Sox' was on our chosen route of travel, was open, and seemed an appropriate location to stop and try. A "retro-decorated" style of restaurant, with various posters, car plates, and memorabilia on the walls, and black & white tiles on the floors. We each chose their -- 'Early Bird Breakfast Special' - a typical eggs, bacon, sausages or ham, home fries, and toast breakfast plate, It was priced at $6.99. but purchasing a separate beverage was required to get that price for the breakfast food. The restaurant, service provided, and food and drink were fine -- rating an 'ok' on my ratings meter. Coffee was good, food servings large, but for me, looking considerably better than the actuall preparations tasted. I would not consider a return visit. read more

Love the retro diner look and feel. Comfort food at its best up and down the menu. Gotta get a milkshake, best I've had maybe ever!

From the get go I must mention that it is so nostalgic and movie like to eat inside the diner. I almost felt like I was an extra in some kind of a movie shoot . However, the restaurant could use some serious cleaning (especially the seating booths and the washroom). The wait time to get our food was excruciatingly long (56mins to be exact!) The food was almost cold when arrived and the waitress said that someone must have forgotten the food at the pick up window ( well...that someone was our waitress since it is not a self serve restaurant). All in all, not going back there to wait that long for a mediocre food. read more

The Burgers Are not that great but everything else I would recommend the stake and eggs and the milk shakes and also there mozzarella sticks

This 1950's diner is an interesting place. Family owned and operated for many years at this location. I had breakfast with coffee and I enjoyed the flexibility of the kitchen. The food was very good, reasonable prices, nice staff, retro feel, and I believe this place truly represents the era and will definitely return for another meal. read more

Bobby Sox 50's Diner - Bobby Sox 50's Diner, great place, great breakfast. - Diners Near Me - Maple Ridge, British Columbia

I am pretty sure this is NOT what 50's food tasted like when it was a thing. While the decor is as authentic as one can imagine, transporting you into the 50's era, the food kills the whole experience tasting like it was put together by someone who wishes they could cook but has no talent for it. I like good, tasty well prepared food (even if it is fast food on occasion) but there are plenty of people who don't care what they shove into their mouths and I guess that is why this place is still able to pay the bills. I will never go again. I do not need the brick in my stomach feeling. I was really hoping the milkshakes would redeem this restaurant but it just tasted like sugar so, blah! Service was not so good either making us stand there, knowing we are there but not acknowledging us. They were not that busy. I meant to do this review the same week I ate there. It is now October 23 and the experience still haunts me. This is bag em and tag em restaurant and not meant for those who appreciate good food. read more

This installment of "Cheap Eats for Big Appetites" is brought to you by Bobbie Sox 50s Diner 226th and Lougheed Oh Lordy, I am stucking fuffed!!! Ever since we saw the recent post about the 2 for 1 burger special here the Missus has been bugging me to go, and what the Missus wants, the Missus gets, so we done went and got ourselves into the minivan and scurried down the road to satiate our cravings. I have to admit, I am so totally in love with this joint, from this classic 50s decor and music playing in the background to the quintessential american diner fare offered it is like stepping into a different time and place and I really dig it Daddy-o..... This was the kinda place that 1970s me would hang out eating a giant platter of fries in gravy when I was skipping school and hanging around with my hooligan friends, just don't tell my parents, they still have no idea. We opted for the aforementioned special because you have to remember that besides my many other endearing qualities I am above all....really freaking cheap! And all that grub (waaay too much for the two of us) for only $13.99 is an incredible deal. I had a hankering for one of their legendary milkshakes so I had one in chocolate, oh god it was so absofreakinglutely delicious and thick! It's a good thing that it comes with a spoon because if you tried to finish it with the straw your head would implode and that would make it infinitely more difficult to drive home. Although we both enjoyed our meals after putting forth our best efforts we were forced to raise the white flag and surrender, I am pretty sure that 1985 me could have put most if not all of it away but 2019 me could not, not even close... So 2 burgers (added cheddar to mine), 2 massive piles of fries, a milkshake, and a bottle of lemonade with tax came to under 25 bucks....way bueno dude. So if you are old and in the mood for a blast from the past, or young and want to see how we lived before smartphones and sushi took over the world then give them a try. +2 because no, I don't think that I could eat like this every day but we had a really good time. read more

It was a Sunday night and I was in the mood for a dessert so I stopped by and shared a banana split with my spouse. Not only is the split more than worth the $6.99, the service was superb! The atmosphere of the restaurant is a throwback 50s diner with a variety of favourites like burgers, deep fried pickles, shakes, onion rings, and baskets of fries. The decor is like stepping back into a soda shop from the golden age complete with checkered flooring, vinyl booths and a step-up wrap around bar. The restaurant attracts a variety of clientele due to its tasty and affordable menu. The banana split was more than enough for two to share. It featured enormous scoops of ice cream with chocolate, strawberry and butterscotch sauces. The dessert was topped with adorable dollops of whip cream and sprinkles. It definitely satisfied this sweet tooth! It would be good to note that since teaming up with with SkipTheDishes, the diner is busy but that isn't necessarily a good thing. It seems like the place is understaffed to handle the constant orders that were coming in and taking away from the overall experience. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to step back into another era and enjoy some cheap and delicious diner classics. read more

Solid 3.5 stars, in fact, terrific. A 4 star would be in the works once I try their food. Real chocolatey, thick as requested. A cozy spot, smaller than it looks but definitely retro as per pics. Friendly service. Note: wished that guy flushed the toilet properly! read more

We didn't have a very good experience here. Had head great things about the place so thought we would take my son here for his birthday lunch to try it out. The table we sat at was filthy and sticky. While looking at the sticky menu, my gut said let's just leave and I regret that decision. A large picture actually fell onto my son and then hit the table from the wall to the right of us. The waitress never even came over or acknowledged the picture falling onto my son or the table. We never even got an apology. My husband just put the picture to the side and nobody even noticed. The poutine I had was the most expensive poutine I've ever had and the worst I've ever had. This place is in dire need of a tear down. Our bill was over $50 for crap food. Will never ever go back again. read more

So cute!! Excellent retro feel and the best milkshakes with a wide variety of flavors. This place is great for a date or for a meal out with the kids. All day breakfast and meal happy hour Mon to Thursday. There is a lot of parking around and they have different pies. I had the chicken wrap with lettuce instead of tortilla due to my diet restrictions at the moment. But, my friend had a Monte Cristo with fresh turkey pictures below. They use Texas toast and have sour dough!! The portions are large and the BBQ sauce is tasty!!! For sure pop in for a shake, burger, wrap, taco salad, breakfast, they have a great selection for reasonable prices. There are funny little signs around on the walls but it can be a little busy at peak hours. read more

Bobby Sox 50's Diner - Delicious little diner - Diners Near Me - Maple Ridge, British Columbia

The place is done up like a cute classic 50's diner but if you're even a bit slightly bit overweight you're not going to fit in the booths. I'm skinny and I barely fit. The place wasn't that busy yet the waitress took her sweet time coming over to take her order and the chefs took almost 45 min to cook a veggie burger and fries and make my friend perogies. It was typical 50's diner food. No wow factor. No disappointment except the wait. The bill was $44 for a burger, fries and perogies with coffee. read more

I've now been to Bobby Sox twice, and both times have been a pleasant experience. The menu is HUGE for a diner like this, and the food, by my standards, is pretty darn good. I had a meatloaf sandwich the first time, and your typical big 'ol burger the second time around (with a caesar salad). Everything was good! Prices were a tad high, but I didn't feel they were as bad as some other reviewers have mentioned. It's also a neat place to stare at the walls while you avoid talking with your mouth full. There is all sorts of memorabilia all over the place to add to that 50's diner experience. If I had to gripe about anything, and it isn't much, I'd have to say I was expecting more from the milkshake. I was told they were amazing and feel like it fell short of that. I've had better, but I've certainly had worse as well! I'd recommend anyone to check it out if you like diner food. read more

Not a bad place but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. It's worth a stop if you're in the neighbourhood like we were, and craving some classic diner food. We came for lunch but looks like they have a good extensive breakfast available as well. Service is friendly, but a bit slow. It wasn't busy when we arrived, either. We were seated and given waters, but after a while, no one came to take our orders. We were patient and waited but one of my friends had to go find the waitress. Food was decent, not anything special but good value and portions for the money! read more

Oh how I love Bobby Sox. Being a 50's diner freak, this place is one of my favourites. First off, it's basic diner fare, but the menu is huge and there's definitely something for everyone. Even a veggie burger for me! The servers are friendly, and I've always received speedy service here. Atmosphere wise, the place is decked out full on 50's kitsch, with era appropriate music. Everywhere you look there's so many little retro details, it's pretty awesome. LOVE this place. read more

This place has decent diner food: a full selection of yummy stuff for breakfast, including some hearty but creative things you don't see too often, and then the usual selection of burgers and sandwiches for dinner. Service is very friendly and the place is clean. All in all, good but not great food and excellent service. The only downside of the place is its unfortunate choice of mishmashed decor from the 40s (Betty Boop) and 50s (Elvis and milkshakes). Yawn. It doesn't get more stale than this, but I guess they're stuck with it given the name. Go for the food and pleasant service, leave for the interior decorating. read more

This diner is one of kind. You don't find them this authentic anymore. It was full of people, but we didn't have to wait for a table. The menu offers an arrangement of diner-ish items. We were there for breakfast on our way home from camping. So Spanish Omelette for me! It was nothing that special, but it wasn't that bad either. My omlette was full of fresh veggies and cheese. Hashbrowns were run of the mill deep fried varierty, and same with toast. My friend had a benedict and felt the same about his meal. Coffee was fresh, and service was great. Price was ok. Would i go back? Maybe. I like diner's that put effort into there items, like home made jam, toast, and great coffee. But i understand how going cheap makes it easier to make money.. but it's cute and has history so it's worth a quick bite. read more

The decor is a 50s themed retro style diner. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs with a pancake. Portions are generous but it isn't anything spectacular. It's fair to midland. The pancake didn't come till much later into my meal but it was huge and not bad. I'll call this experience an average one. My friend ordered the fried chicken and fries. He said it was just ok. They serve breakfast all day. Maybe I'll be back or not. read more
