I wish I could give this salon more stars. Reading through the bad reviews on this page are comical, because the women (and men!) that work at Lacquer are professional and dedicated to customer service. I am a regular for gel manis at the Clintonville location with Haley, and I really can't give her enough credit. She always does an amazing job and I have never left unhappy. Even though I live right around the corner from Harrison West, she makes it worth the drive over to Clintonville. Additionally, I have needed haircuts a couple times, and booked randomly with different individuals who had openings. Again, both times they did an amazing job. I feel comfortable booking a haircut with anyone at Lacquer because I'm confident that all the stylists provide quality service. There was one issue I had with gel polish that had gone bad, it was one color when I got the mani and changed over the weekend. Haley happened to be out of town when I needed to get it corrected, so they placed me with another nail tech to fix it. I was only looking for a free gel removal and was willing to pay for a whole new polish, but they ended up comping the whole thing. It is important to speak up if you are unhappy with your results, because Lacquer shows obvious dedication to keeping all their clients satisfied. Finally, whenever I walk into the salon, I am greeted by their friendly receptionists. I always look forward to appointments at Lacquer and always feel welcome when I'm there. In my few years of experience as a regular client, they have always been punctual. My friend and I did the February special. We both got facial. My friend also got a manicure, and I chose to do a pedicure. The prices were overpriced. We paid $100 or more for such a mediocre services. My friend's nails looked horrible after they did her nail. For some reasons, her nails looked bumpy. It shouldn't look like that, especially if you paid $40 for the service. For the facial, I feel like they just put a ton of products in your face and wash it. No message or anything although the facial lady did extraction. My pedicure wasn't bad but I wish they did like a full normal pedicure service. Both my friend and I feel like there were a lot of parts they skipped in this February special deal. But we pay a decent amount of money, it shouldn't be that way. Recently had my legs done for my wedding & honeymoon (sugaring). I'm not a regular for waxing but wasn't my first wax. Staff was really friendly and the facility is nice. I was disappointed with the wax though. I had to shave my legs for wedding bc of the amount of hair left and they weren't smooth. I understand some get left behind that you can't get but this was more than normal and there were a few patches with lots of hair in places. My hair was the same length it was for my last wax (not done at lacquer gallery) and that one was smooth without hair left behind so I'm not sure where it went wrong, but I was bummed since it was for such a special occasion and an expensive service. :/ read more

I have been coming to Lacquer Gallery on and off for two-ish years. Each time, it has grown and changed slightly. The interior is modern and trendy. The receptionist staff are pleasant & friendly. The aesthetic of the salon is top notch; it is very artsy and creative. Overall, the salon is great. I would personally recommend Maricela, who can do all nail types (gel, natural, and acrylic). I have seen other nail techs there and haven't been disappointed with any. As someone who likes acrylics and natural nails, I've stuck with Maricela. I appreciate her professionalism, creativity, and work product. I recommend her to everyone. Be warned, she books up quickly, so plan in advance. I've been to this lacquer location for lip and chin wax, manicure, hair cut, and color. Most recently a wax from Kanoa and buzz touch up from Zooey. I have received 5 star services from every stylist, esthetician, manicurist... I always look great and have great conversations. Honestly, I do feel the front desk staff can be a little cold and stand offish and don't seem to fit in with the vibe of the rest of the staff but I'm not receiving service from them so I care less. You can see the costs for all the different services. You also get 10% off when you check-in on Yelp and they give you a coupon for a return visit too! Their services are fairly priced. I parked easily on W. 3rd. Ave. The salon is THE cutest place I've ever ever seen. They have great decorations (like a lot that I want to take home and put in my own space) and it's warm and inviting with the brick walls and lots of furry rugs/throws. The salon is split up into two parts - there's a hair side and the other side is for manis/pedis. They have tons of snacks and drinks for you to enjoy! The girl helping me was not very talkative, which was fine with me. I watched Parks and Rec and she took good care of me. I was very pleased with my pedicure in terms of the duration, shape, and quality of the overall experience. Ashten seemed to be wishing she was someplace other than working on my nails. All the other women around me were happily having conversations with their "girl gang" members while I sat in silence because she just didn't seem to want to talk even when I tried to engage with her. I had wanted nail art and a few gems added but was told there wasn't enough time for both so I just went with the nail art. I scheduled an appointment online and as I read over the reviews I became familiar with their strict attendance policy so I called in to make sure I scheduled the right type of appointment. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The building is very open and cute. I was disappointed to see that the pedicure bowls were not connected to any type of jets for massage purposes, and the chairs were very basic chairs with no massage capabilities either but Emilee made my visit so enjoyable it didn't even matter. I came in for a CBD Pedicure and Gel Manicure. I found out the morning of my appointment that the original nail artist that was supposed to do my pedicure wasn't able to make make it in. The scheduling receptionist made sure to call me in advance and worked to find someone else who could do my pedicure during my scheduled time, which I appreciated. Well today I arrived on time and the girl doing my pedicure was not. Who I booked with didn't do my pedicure because she was getting her nails done by the girl who ended up doing my service. Oh , how I love Lacquer! I've just recently had my second visit and I've definitely found my new place. The space is, for lack of a better word, just COOL--modern, kind of hippie chic. My first visit consisted of eyebrow waxing, gel manicure and a pedicure (don't remember which one), all performed by Toria. She is excellent! She's friendly and personable. My eyebrows never looked so good; in fact, I'm going to make it a more regular thing. This visit, I had the freshen up pedicure and a gel French mani that looks so good, my 11 year old can't stop grabbing my hand to look and marvel at how neat and pretty they are. Oh, and she loves going with me. She's sort of a budding photography hobbyist and Lacquer Gallery is wonderful inspiration. Kinda makes me wish I had an occasion to celebrate so I could reserve this place for an event; I'd love to host a girls' night or party here. I'm a girl who appreciates convenience so I love that you can book, reschedule and cancel online. I also love that they offer so many types of nail services, which makes it feasible for any budget to get a mani or pedi. They've recently increased service prices and the owner courteously sent an email to all the clients explaining the reason for the increase. Hit or miss depending on who you book with! The first few times I came I had a great experience. Elizabeth, Shantele, Joie & Carolyn did a great job! I had a bad experience when I went in for a Halloween manicure. I booked for level one nail art with a gel mani (which is what i booked for the previous nail art with a different tech) & when I showed her a reference picture, she said the design wasn't level one and I could only do art on one nail. I said no problem, just do the design on one nail then. She got out a sheet of stickers & put that on instead of doing actual nail art. So I paid an extra like $10 for a sticker, which was a bummer. I also asked for almond shape & as you can see, the shape was all over the place and the gel was way too thick. My manicures usually last 2-3 weeks but this one started peeling after 5 days. I also waited for about 20 minutes past my appointment time before she got me back & she said she was running behind. I forgot to book the removal part of my manicure so I asked if she wanted to reschedule if she didn't have time but she said it was fine. Normally it's whatever but she seemed rushed and I think that caused the poor job. Soo I wound up paying almost $100 for that with tip. I always tip at least 20% even if it's not a great job which, looking back, I now advise against lol. I decided to go back & try another girl for a basic gel mani and the work wasn't great. I haven't been back since. Overall, I'd recommend booking with Shantele or Elizabeth for the best results! I also decided to get a lash lift & tint... it was awful. The dye stayed stained under my eyes longer than my lashes stayed curled. I reached out to the lash tech asking how to reverse the perm if possible because it wound up so uneven and some of my lashes broke off but I never got a response. I don't think my message was ever opened tbh. I also waited 45 minutes past my appointment time before I was brought back, not sure why. It took my lashes about 6 months to go back to normal which was not a fun process. Their salons are super cute & normally the staff is great! Not every experience is going to be awesome, but you can definitely get the same/better quality work at smaller salons for better prices. read more

So I went to get a full set acrylic with gel and the most I'll say is I cried so hard. Some of it was my fault but really? I'm a shy person when it comes to talking to adults, I'm only 13. These nails we're supposed to be for my 14th birthday , I was sooo excited, the nails I got look not one bit like anime characters . The pink nail looks like off brand mega mind . I checked your other location and the nail artist in Italian village is amazing , I should've went there :( I paid $107 with $10 tip because Im dumb , my mom wasn't there with me when I paid either so had no clue what I was doing in terms of Tip .
