I've been coming to this nail salon for about 5 years now. At first the lady that's in charge black hair with glasses asked me to write a review for her so I could get a "discount". I don't think much of it since I was a new customer. At the time they didn't have good reviews but since this salon was near my job I found it convenient to get my nails done here. Moving forward, it felt like they always had problems, short staffed, rushing and they had an attitude. Couple times they didn't do a great job with my nails. Particularly a younger lady with dark brown hair she speaks some English. When I was coming for fill ins I could tell my nail LIFTED but she continued to apply acrylic on top. When she was done I could see the previous nail on top of the clear coat. It looked cloudy and dirty (BLACK TIP picture). I asked her kindly why the clear part on the nail looks cloudy and she replied with an attitude "that's the way your real nail looks underneath". Mind you I don't cook or clean much and I don't work with my hands so no MY NAILS DONT LOOK LIKE THAT. Months had passed and I got a FRENCH TIP. Everything was okay until the next morning. Again, I don't really do heavy cleaning at home since it's just me and my husband and I'm a college student. I came to their salon to see if they could fix it and their reply was " I can add a clear glitter coat on top. Girl even with a clear glitter coat you can see a mile away that my white nails aren't white. So her solution was to try to hide the damage. My best guess is my white French tip WASN'T FULLY DRIED and they stained. I asked her kindly if we could re do them. I asked for a white tip and she said she WASNT GOING TO DO WHITE ANYMORE. I found that funny because I usually have WHITE TOES and I get regular FRENCH TIP AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE. She suggested red with an attitude and acted like she was in a hurry. I had no choice but to agree. As the lady in charge was doing my nails she was very ROUGH with my nails and my hands. She had an attitude and was talking in another language to her coworkers. Not trying to jump to conclusions but it seemed like she was talking crap and complaining. I felt humiliated and disrespected. Nonetheless the whole experience through the YEARS weren't great. I NO LONGER get my nails done with them. And I haven't had an issue with the current place I go. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

In the past year I've been here twice - not because the service was bad but because there's currently a pandemic. Last June I got the Deluxe pedicure with the Marine Salt Glow fragrance. My friend and I were seated together and were able to chat while our pedicures were done. Nothing bad but nothing outstanding either. My most recent visit was about 2 weeks ago. My friend made the appointment for us and was late in picking me up so I called and let them know we'd be 15 minutes late. I gave them about 30 minutes notice. They were very accommodating and said they would rebook us for the later time. Franklin county doesn't have a mask mandate now but we wore masks and our technicians wore masks. Not all technicians were wearing them. I got the Nutrient Manicure and Pedicure. My friend got the same services but with gel polish and I was asked if I didn't want to reconsider using gel polish because it would last longer. But I'm not hard on my nails so I declined. I went with a pale lavender color which was Easter holiday/spring appropriate and received many compliments on my manicure. They do accept payments and tips via credit card. my nails came out so beautifully, V did an amazing job!! all of the staff was very friendly and amendable, my friend and i came in on a saturday as walk-ins and didn't have to wait at all! it was a very relaxed vibe, i could've taken a nap. you could tell V knew what she was doing, she worked very efficiently and took time making sure the shape was perfect. i only removed a star because with a 20% tip, this set (acrylic with gel polish and no design) ended up being ~$82, which is definitely expensive. according to their website, this set should've cost "$58+"...i'm not sure what about my design accounted for the $10 upcharge before tip, but i wasn't about to complain after how great the service was! read more

Not to mention all the staff is wonderful, especially the owner Andy. They are always willing to fix a broken nail or change something you don't like. There is a huge selection of color options including dip, gel and regular polish, I always find a new color to love. This past week I got a new dip manicure and had two nails break in the span of 4 days and came in twice for repairs...not only did Andy fix both nails but the second time I came he made sure to reinforce all my nails. I typically don't do this but the workers have not made it easy for me to be understanding. I got my nails on Sunday with a friend. Not necessarily the shape I asked for but I didn't say anything. When we were checking out, one of the workers accidentally messed up the pricing; no big deal, until another lady started yelling at us because we asked for clarification since the math was not adding up. I ended up just allowing her to charge me another 20 dollars to save everyone the headache. But by Tuesday, two of my nails had already broke or chipped. I called to make an appointment to get them fixed. I show up to my appointment and had to wait 20 + minutes. I made an appointment for a reason. They continued to serve everyone else in the lobby. I recently started a new, full time job after college and wanted to start getting my nails done regularly with a monthly pedicure. This place is near my apartment and had decent reviews, so I decided to make an appointment for a gel manicure and a deluxe pedicure. I didn't really care what colors they gave me and I'm bad at decisions, so I asked him to surprise me, but he kept wanting me to pick. I picked a blue color for my toes and a sparkly pink for my hands. We started with the pedicure. The water was extremely hot but I got used to it quick. All of the tools used on me were extremely clean and the pedicure was really enjoyable! I was probably one of the best pedicures I've had. Now, it was time for the manicure. I asked him if he could surprise me with a little design of his choice, because I wanted him to do what he knew how to do and could do well. He once again had me pick a color, but they were different this time, so I went with a hot pink. Instead of getting a gel manicure like I had booked and written down when I checked in, I got a dip manicure without a design. I have never had dip nails before and he acted like he had never done a dip manicure before, but I felt too bad to speak up. I was holding back tears when he cut my finger with the drill, it was a pretty deep cut, too. I was paying extra for a service I didn't ask for, and I was injured in the process. After the manicure was done and I was covered in nail dust, he proceeded to get a little bit of lotion and give me a quick hand and arm massage, even though I was covered in nail crust. I felt disgusting, why didn't he have me wash my hands first? I wanted an affordable salon near my apartment to become a regular at, and this was not the place. This is the second time I have visited Mint Nail Salon. My first visit, I had an appointment, but had to wait for an hour. The next time, I didn't bother making an appointment and I still had to wait for an hour. It was the weekend, so I understand they are busy and everyone is short-staffed. Just be prepared to wait whether you have an appointment or not. They do not greet you when you walk in and put your name on the list, but they will ask you to stay if you start to walk out. If they tell you it's going to be 5 more minutes, rest assured this actually means 20 minutes. Also, they do not check the sign-in list; they just ask who is next. My assumption is this is due to the language barrier. I do not like that they use a drill-like buffing machine for standard, non-gel pedicures. Also, for my most recent appointment, I had three different technicians working on me with no notice that they were passing me off to another person. Normally, if I go to a Nail Salon, I have one dedicated technician working with me for the entire appointment. My nails do look nice, though, and I think their pricing is ok. The workers here are so nice, so I feel a little bad writing a not-so-great review, but when you've been cut/scraped to the point of bleeding both times you've gone to get a pedicure, it needs to be said. The first time I visited, we had just moved to the area and I needed to find a new nail salon. This one happened to be close to the house, so we gave it a try. When my nail technician filed down my toenails at the beginning of the pedicure, I felt a little twinge of pain. He didn't say anything and kept going. It was a little strange though, that he asked me if he was hurting me, like, 10 times during the rest of my pedicure. I was like...what's the problem? (I've had someone nick me before and they immediately apologized and tried to remedy the situation, so at this point I was just confused.) My pedicure looked great, went home, did my thing the rest of the day, and slept. The next day, my toe was KILLING me. I put on my shoes and finally looked down, and my pinky toe had been bleeding where he had scraped the skin with the nail file. Ouch! I didn't want to write this place off completely, so I tried it one more time about a month later. (Like I said, I have been nicked before by apologetic technicians.) This time, a different nail tech used both the "cheese grater" on my feet as well as the rough sponge/talcum thing, which isn't unusual. She scrubbed really hard, even on my arches--the softest parts of my feet! Rest of the pedicure went great, whatever. Woke up again this morning (the day after) and my foot is hurting. I check it over, and my toe has been bleeding where it was scrubbed/grated. UGH!! Like I said, the workers here are so nice and my feet have looked good--minus the bleeding--but I'm not willing to come back here if I'm going to get cut every time. read more

I had a gel polish manicure done 5 days ago which typically should last up to 2 weeks but on the 5th day my gel was lifting on all nails and both of my pinky gel polish has completely lifted off.. I called in and was asking what they could do for me and the lady told me they only guaranteed their gel nails for 2 maybe 3 days at most. She said she couldn't get me in until the next day and that would make it 6 days and I would have to pay to have them fixed. I've been to many other nail salons in town and they typically guarantee their gel nails at least 7-14 days. I'm aware that every nail salon has a different policy when it comes to their guarantees, I was just taken back by theirs so I will not be returning. Mint Nails is amazing, seriously one of the best I've been to. Everything is super-clean, the tools autoclaved, and the staff are friendly and efficient. I'm still in the process of choosing a specific tech to work with, because I haven't had anything other than a stellar experience. You are greeted immediately when you come in, and I've not waited more than 15 minutes as a walk-in. I've had a pedi here (they are quite proud of their sanitary bath system, if hygiene is important to you like it is with me), and it was great. I typically do gel polish every two weeks...and I could go longer if my nails didn't grow so darn fast. The polish application is that good, no peeling or wear. They do a great job cleaning up my cuticles and trimming - no deep cuts, nothing that grows out jagged later. Truly expert skills! So glad Mint is close to me - I can walk here - but I'd gladly drive across town to get such a great manicure. read more

This used to be my go to nail salon. I live very close and always had a great experience. Like another reviewer mentioned I notice during My previous visit I didn't recognized anyone. The dip mani was ok. I decided to go back to get a pedi and dip again. I again didn't recognized anyone and I felt completely rushed. (Pedi and dip with removal in just over a hour for both) the tech was filing so aggressively and quickly she took the top layer of skin off my finger tip. No apology. Then proceeded to file the nail again. the dip application was very sloppy and all over my fingers. No offer to clean it off. Can't believe they would let me walk out like this. I took my 6 year old to get mani/pedis for her birthday. Don did my pedi and Lana did our nails and her pedi. My daughter is a very energetic, inquisitive little girl and Lana was so incredibly patient with her. She explained everything and was great at giving her directions and was so kind the whole time. She was soooo meticulous for my gel manicure and made sure that my French tips were just how I wanted them. I don't hardly ever get my nails done back home (NC) because I always feel so rushed when they are shaping my nail, and I never feel like they get the tips the way I like them but this was NOT the case with Lana. This review is being posted about a week after my first trip to the salon. I've learned to wait at least that long before posting salon reviews, just to make sure the polish stands the test of time. So far, so good. As others have said, Mint Nails has a bit of a spa vibe. It's very clean. The employees are friendly. The color selection is comparable to what you'll find at the salon across the street. I opted for a regular pedicure and a basic gel polish manicure, and after tip, my bill was still around $10 cheaper than it usually is for the same services at the other place. Not only that, but the manicure included a hand massage, which is something I've never received at the other place. My only regret is that I didn't try this place soon. Update, 04/29/18: I had my second visit to Mint Nails yesterday and I want to bang my head against the wall. I went for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. Everything was almost done, when a lady approached the technician who was doing my nails. They were speaking in their native language. My technician got up and left, and the other lady sat down. She asked if I had time for her to correct something. Aside from the polish on my right thumb looking like it needed corrected, I didn't see a problem. The lady proceeded to use a nail file to buff the polish on every nail, just like they do when they're removing polish. She didn't completely remove it; she basically made it look matte and then repainted all of my nails. When she finished, I asked her why she did it and she explained that the other tech hadn't applied the polish all the way down to my cuticles. I left there appreciative of their attention to detail. By last evening, the polish on my right thumb was peeling, so I went back this morning. The tech who originally did my nails yesterday explained that the polish peeled because the light must not have hit the edges of my nail properly. She graciously fixed it and I paid close attention to how my hand laid under the drying light. It's now early evening and the polish is peeling, again. I'm incredibly frustrated, but I don't have the time or interest in going back for another repair. I'm not new to gel manicures and problems like these don't happen at every salon.
