I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi for my 40th birthday - I'm going on a trip with friends and wanted to have pretty nails (I barely have time to do them on a regular basis, so this is a very special indulgence! You only turn 40 once!) I made an appointment on Vagaro, which was accepted and confirmed by the salon - 6:30 mani and 7:05 pedi. When I arrived, I was "greeted" by a tech working on someone's nails who looked and sounded less than thrilled to see me. Then, it was a little chaotic checking in as another annoyed tech searched for me in the computer. I showed the email confirming the services and times and she said 'Vagaro just lets you book whatever - our owner just accepted it. We close at 7' She said we could do one or the other, so I chose my toes. I should have just chose neither and left, but this was the only time I have to do this before I leave on my trip. I was able to book another appointment (at another salon) for tomorrow but will have to leave work to make it happen. I will do anything to never come back here. The problem is - this was a simple misunderstanding. But what's important here is it was on their part, not mine. I was completely understanding and didn't complain, blame, etc., but in return there was no apology, no solution/ideas to make it better, no basic human kindness. Just the coldest, most uncomfortable service I have ever had in my life. I love supporting local neighborhood businesses but I will never be returning here. In the end, my toes look good and I accidentally tipped her for the full mani/pedi in my haste to run out (so hopefully that made staying open an extra 5-10 minutes 'worth' it) I don't expect much, really, but a little kindness (and understanding) would have went a long way. read more

Horrible nails!!! I asked for an overlay to strengthen my long natural nails and got short nails that broke off within a week!!!! Needless to say, my natural nails are now cut down to the knob and are very painful. I will never go back! It's a horrible place to get your nails done! read more

Love this place! I have short nails and I pick at my cuticles and my gel came out looking fabulous on top of the tech being very gentle.

We called ahead for a pedicure, gel manicure, and a full set with gel polish. The staff was efficient and nice, and we all really liked our nails after! My only complaint was that, for the price (reasonable/normal), I would have liked a little more pampering to the manicure. But all in all, I would definitely be back! I have read complaints about the wait time, so I'm definitely glad we called ahead. read more

My review is mixed. My nails looked very nice BUT when I went in, I said I wanted a basic manicure ($9). I was distracted that day and I only get a manicure once or twice a year. So I did not realize that he gave me a gel manicure ($32). In addition to the unanticipated expense, I then had a polish that I needed to get pried off later and more fragile nails for many weeks until they grow out since some of the nail was filed off. Since I have nails that break off easily, this was definitely not appreciated (and why I asked for a basic manicure). So if you want just a basic manicure, make sure you communicate this clearly so you won't be surprised or have problems with your nails for weeks. read more

Great little nail shop in Upper Arlington! I stopped in between meetings and only waited for about 10 minutes to get a gel mani. My nail tech was uber friendly and I love the lotion with the heated mitts. Definitely a nice touch! She took her time with my nails and made sure they were just perfect! I've been here 5 or 6 times. The second time and the last 2 times they have been way overzealous trimming the cuticles and have torn mine to pieces. Who wants a pretty new manicure with bloody cuticles!? Polish is uneven across the nail and not all nails are shaped the same or the same length (even after specifically asking). Best mani/pedi I've ever had, and I'm a mani/pedi snob. I lived in Chicago for a long time and got them there all the time - this is hands down the best I've been to. Each of the techs is meticulous and takes their time, no matter how busy they are, which I always appreciate. I used to hate in Chi-town when the person doing your nails would look up and see 10 people waiting, and then rush through and mess up your mani so they could turn over customers faster. These guys are awesome, and it doesn't matter which nail tech you get either. They're all money. My nails always look super clean / gorgeous / flawless, and they always last for a long time. The only downside to this place is that you can wait awhile during peak times, but it's worth it. Also, I believe it's all OPI polish there and I love Essie, so I always bring my favorite color just to make sure they'll have what I want. read more

This review is only for CJ at Attractive Nails. The best mani-pedi I've ever had. He is meticulous, and spends a lot of time massaging your feet and hands. My nails look beautiful, and it has been two weeks since I had them done. My daughter and I went together, we had the exact same service, she had a different manicurist and her spa nail treatment was over 20 minutes before mine with CJ. One of the reviews on Yelp said they don't accept "expired" gift certificates. This happened to a friend of mine as well, which is the fault of the owner. I would never buy a gift certificate from Attractive Nails, which is too bad as that is a great way to advertise one's business. I will definitely go back, but beware of person that does your nails. The reason the reviews are inconsistent is because the experience is dependent on the person doing your nails. That is why I am giving it a 2. I have had 3 pedicures there. I had 1 pedicure that was a 5 . Spent lots of time transforming my feet after no pedicure for 4 months. Polish stayed on for almost a month, regular polish not a gel. Got rid of callouses, cuticles, and perfect job with polish. Another pedicure was a 4 star. Last time, was a 1 star. The woman rushed through so fast it would have been funny, if I wasn't paying for it. The pedicure includes 4 or 5 different solutions or applications, that should include being left on nails or feet while person massages, pushes back cuticles, or has time to absorb. She rushed so fast that she immediately applied each solution right after the next. At the beginning of the manicure, she kept turning to watch the show on the TV., completely stopping in between each nail to watch the show. More time watching TV, than the nails. And to make it worse, later on, when I asked a question, I realized she was talking to someone on her Bluetooth. She had 2 long conversations on her Bluetooth during the pedicure, making me wait to get an answer until she could listen, yet continued to talk on blue tooth. On majority of the nails, the cuticles were painted. I asked her to clean it up. She cleaned off a few, then when I pointed out the others, she said they were fine, it was the light. Result, paint peels off easier when cuticles are painted. I wanted to buy polish the same color, it was discontinued. They refused to sell me the partial bottle, so I could have a matching touch-up color. So check first, if you want to purchase your choice of color. read more

Their price for a full-set is $32. I got a basic full-set with gel polish (fully prepared to pay an extra $5-$10 for the gel) Imagine my surprise when the girl said $56 with tax. I normally try not to complain but I had to ask why the total was so much. The girl that did my nails said that gel polish is an extra $21! I've been to many different nail salons and never been charged that much. I didn't even get a manicure! As for the nail tech, her name was Lindsey I believe, I have never been so uncomfortable while getting my nails done. She didn't talk at all. She would stop and check her phone or take a drink from her Starbucks cup frequently. She got up once and just walked away to the back without saying "I'll be right back" or anything. Awful experience. Over charged me by $5 for a pedicure.. Not a big deal except I tipped on top of that not knowing they over charged me. Clearly showed the price on the board. When I asked about it they said that it included tip.. Had to wait 30 minutes for a pedicure which only lasted 15. He massaged my legs for a totally of 3 minutes for both ( I clocked it). I would not recommend getting acrylic nails from here. I bought a full set of acrylics plus a tip and paid $40 on Thursday, March 9th. Two days later on Saturday one of the acrylic nails came off and i had to use fake nail glue to reapply it. On Sunday a different nail came off. Today, (Tuesday, March 14th, 5 days post application) all of my nails had "lifted" and they all popped off. The staff there is quite nice but the tools and furniture seemed to be quite old and raggedy... Once again, I would not recommend getting acrylic nails done at Attractive nails. read more

My pedicure with OPI is chipping after two weeks. When I do them at home they last two months with a top coat once. I wasn't paying attention - make sure they do all steps. They didn't offer me nail file and foot file like they do at Kenneth's. I'm pretty sure they are reusing them. I had a $35 gift certificate from Christmas that had expired I had used $10 on and they wouldn't honor the $25 and threw it out. It wasn't like an expired coupon. Someone gave them money for it.
