Great spot for homestyle peruvian food, low key spot nothing super fancy but the food and service are good. Definitely a mom and pop restaurant and I appreciate that about it. I have had the aji de gallina and it had a great flavor but I would ask for it spicy next time. The traditional fish ceviche is good as well. I also recommend the pollo a la brasa! Overall pretty good. Ordered the pollo saltado which includes fries and veggies and it had a good taste plus the rice was cooked very well. We went there for lunch on SUNDAY. I love Peruvian food and was honestly very disappointed the meat quality. The service was great and the place was a nice little hole in the wall place. Honestly if they just updated the food quality this would be a great little hole in the wall Peruvian place. It is priced fair for normal Peruvian food. Your looking about $15-$20 a meal. This review is based on the service, not the food. This old lady straight finessed me when I ordered a whole chicken. She raised the cost of the whole chicken to over $30. Menu said $26. She also added some strange "non-cash adjustment" to the Apple Pay when I tapped it and said something about it being a bank fee. She was just hoping I wouldn't notice the change from my receipt to what she actually charged on the machine when I tapped. Then she actually showed me the line to add a tip on a takeout meal. Usually I tip a little just cause, you know, times are hard for everyone. However, don't manhandle me into getting extra cash. If she does this for every transaction, she is making much more than what people think they are paying. Also, I saw her taste a sauce on her finger, licked it, and used that same finger to push my potato side back in the box when she was trying to pack my meal. Great option for lunch for anyone in the area! The 1/4 chicken with fries and a salad was delicious. The chicken is very tender with explosive flavors. Came with my wife for an early lunch. The place was empty. The waitress greeted us immediately and brought us some bread rolls. We ordered the half chicken with plantains. While waiting for the food we saw the not so stellar reviews and were kinda scared. Once the food came, we were pleasantly suprised how good the food was. Chicken was moist and well seasoned and the plantains were perfectly ripe and soft. The two sauces that come with the chicken were also delicious. Tried this place today for the first time. Its located in a ghetto part of cutler bay. The restaurant itself is crappy looking. It's not designed like a typical professional restaurant, and can certainly be considered a "hole in the wall". However I dont mind this because sometimes thats where you get the best food. I came here with my hubby for lunch, and the place was dead. There were only 2 other tables there, and one was already eating. We ordered churrasco and lomo saltado. The waitress took 10 minutes before greeting us and taking our order. After we stated what we wanted, we waited another 35-40minutes before being served. I was quite shocked, the place was not busy at all! Thankfully we had some complimentary bread to keep us going. The food was good when it came out. Can I say it was amazing? No. It was good, but I have had better peruvian food before. Once we were done eating, we asked for the check. The total came to $31.82. We told the waitress to take $15 in cash first, and put the remainder on the card. She gave the bill to the man working the register. When I went to collect the receipt to sign, i saw that he charged the entire bill to my card. I asked him if he had only charged the remainder on my card. He said yes, but the receipt said the entire bill. I asked him again, and explained that I wanted $15 charged with the cash I gave, and the rest on my card. Its not difficult! He continued to argue, and then stated that "its too late, it already went through on the card, I thought that was the tip"! I told him that I explained this very clearly to the waitress, and that her tip was already left on the table. Why on earth would i leave a tip worth more than my dish, when service sucked to begin with! Never coming back here again. I know 5 more places with better peruvian food. This place is almost like a hole in the wall. The prices are very reasonable especially during lunch hours. I ordered lomo saltado and it came out within 15-20 min while I snack on some garlic bread with the spicy green sauce. I think the lomo here is very decent and can be rated 8-10. I think everyone should give this place a try just because the price is right and the food here is decent meaning good but not over the top. The only reason for the minus one star is because the waitress doesn't know English and know one here is there to help , at least the times I go. But definitely give it a try please ! read more
