Food was average. It was noticeable that the ingredients were really not fresh and low quality. I believe it was not the way it was cooked just the best they could do with the ingredients they have. Service on the other hand was really bad, place was busy since we were there for lunch during the weekend. It took 15 minutes before anyone came to our table to ask if we wanted drinks. It didn't get better after that. ***be on the lookout, if you pay with card, you get charged a 3.9% of your bill*** when i asked the server she had no idea why. Unfortunately i do not recommend this place.

Punto Peru is the definition of a hole in the wall restaurant alongside South Dixie Highway near Cutler Bay. Not much of a parking lot, limited seating inside and the aesthetics are seriously lacking. The menu is comprised of real authentic Peruvian food with "seafood and ceviche made fresh daily" apparently. At least that's what I heard another man say as we sat down at our table. I don't really believe that was the case on this day tho.. Anyway, I've always been a fan of the Jalea Mixta and the Lomo Saltado whenever I eat at a Peruvian restaurant, but in this case, the Jalea Mixta didn't taste fresh at all, no matter how much lemon juice you drenched it in (incredibly disappointing) and the Lomo Saltado didn't look very appealing in the photo. The Saltado de Pollo I ordered instead was the highlight of my experience. Perfect portion and the taste was savory and delicious. As a Hispanic woman, you know that white rice is cooked well when you can eat it alone and feel satisfied, but in this case the savory sauce and the juicy chicken, paired with the fresh veggies was the perfect combination. Yum. The service was probably the worst part of my experience tho. I was dining in with my Mother and this one female server didn't speak a word of English. Which was fine, because as I mentioned before I'm Hispanic so we could communicate. But what if I had been with someone who didn't speak any Spanish or what if I didn't speak any Spanish myself? Anyway, there were other occupied tables, mostly male laborers who work in the area it looked like and for whatever reason, they all got way more attention than my Mother and I did. It was insulting. I don't know how many times my Mother asked for a refill of soda and then just water because the server kept forgetting it. But she didn't hesitate to refill the cups of the other male diners. Even after asking for water, it took the server 20 minutes to bring it out. Very unprofessional. All in all, I rate Punto Peru with 3 stars because the Saltado de Pollo was that good.

A Peruvian gem en route to the Florida Keys. This place was recommended to me & didn't disappoint. I tried the lomo saltado & was taken aback by how great it was. I'm not big on French fries, but they too were amazing drenched in the gravy from the meat.

Located on the narrow step of land between US1 and the busway you will find this small restaurant with delicious Peruvian dishes and friendly bilingual waitresses. The menu has pictures. So, if you are unsure of what you want to try, just point.

Ordene un Ceviche MIXTO y parece que solo tenian 2 camarones y y pedacito de pulpo que ni se nota en la foto.. el sabor nada que ver, sabe a AGUA... los maíces tostados están mojados.... Bueno no me gusto

Waited over 30 min to get my meal then it came warm. Food did have good flavor but not worth the wait for a fried dish. My wife had chicken soup and it was nice and hot but took an additional 5 min after my meal to come out.

Peruvian food is very varied and overall delicious. For years I have been a fan of Peruvian food and luckily Miami is filled with amazing Peruvian restaurants. Tonight I am writing a review about a particular Peruvian restaurant. Although I have driven by this place many many times, I never thought about going there, no particular reason, it just didn't catch my attention. A couple of weeks ago my next door neighbor told me about this place, he ordered take out for a group of ten, and was very satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. Earlier tonight I decided to go and check the place out, I was in the mood for some Peruvian food. At first glance, the place did not seem like much, nothing fancy, which is fine, I have been really surprised by hole-in-the-wall type of places so I went in, table for one. I noticed that for a weeknight the place was fairly busy. Most of the tables were occupied. I also noticed that there were only two waitresses, but since I was not in a hurry I stayed. 5 minutes after I sat down the waitress brought the menu. I pretty much knew what I wanted, so about 10 minutes after getting the menu the waitress came to take my order. I wanted some sort of beef soup and a Jalea mixta ( breaded and deep fried mixture of seafood). Another 10 to 15 minutes passed before the waitress brought the silverware, a glass of water and 1 dinner roll, 1. I have to say that the dinner roll was delicious, crispy on the outside soft and warm on the inside, but it was 1. I was hungry, so the waiting game began. I asked the waitress to bring the soup first. ALMOST 45 MINUTES PASSED before my soup arrived. I have to say it was delicious, the portion was enormous and the price was $13.99 just for the soup, which I though was a bit steep. I asked for the Jalea to go, because I was pretty stuffed with the huge bowl of soup. I asked for the bill, paid and left. When I got home, I opened the container with the seafood mix and I have to say that the portion was quite small compared to most other Peruvian restaurants I have previously visited, it reaLLY WAS NOT WORTH $16.99. Overall the bill came out to about $40 which it is not bad but again compared to other Peruvian restaurants, this was a bit pricey. Do I recommend this place? It is hard to say, I have only tried two dishes there, but tonight first impressions are as follows: 1. Service was mediocre at best 2. food was not bad 3. 1 dinner roll, that was a killer 4. Length of time waiting to be served was ludicrous 5. The price too high for this particular restaurant. If you are craving Peruvian food and you live near this place, definitely ORDER OUT and go pick it up, do not eat there unless you have time to waste and are ok with mediocre to bad service. If you are willing to drive there are tons of amazing Peruvian restaurants in Miami, with excellent service, higher quality food and better ambiance. Will I eat there again? maybe if I am really craving Peruvian, and not in the mood to drive far, but I will definitely order take-out. Cheers!!!!

This place is not bad except the presentation should be updated along with the tables and chairs. The price of the dishes are affordable and their plates have A LOT of food. They taste homemade which is what most Peruvian dishes taste like and it's not gourmet at all. Their menu has a lot of selection. The service was not bad except the waiter looked like she didn't want to be there. The food came out at different times and lucky me I was last after my family had eaten for 10 minutes. They almost forgo the order of fries but needless to say it arrived before the plate was finished. I ordered the seco de res and the Chicha. I would recommend it to anyone who is driving to or from Key West. Just don't expect a 5 star restaurant but more like a family chill place with soap operas on the TV sets.

I love to come here and actually come pretty regularly with my family (about 1-2 times a month). Great tasting food...the ones I have tried lomo saltado, chaufa, jalea mixta, or the rotisserie chicken. I've eaten plenty of Peruvian food including in the fancier restaurants and this one in my opinion is very good with reasonable prices and good portions. The place itself is nothing fancy and parking is pretty limited, but it's not dirty or run down from what I have seen. Service is OK. Food comes out pretty quick but sometimes getting refills or something extra after you get your food takes a bit. To their defense, I usually get there late or when it's busy so it can be due to that. Overall this place is great and our go to place for good home cooked food at a great price (we are a big family).

This place is pretty small with a homie feel. Upon sitting down you receive a bread basket with warm bread and butter. The bread tastes absolutely amazing!! My favorite dish is the ceviche. The prices are fairly reasonable as well! The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is because of how long the food takes to leave the kitchen. If you have time to spare and want to grab some great Peruvian food, this is definitely a great spot to check out.

I had a fish ceviche. The fish wasn't fresh and the seasoning not too good. I want to try the soup though so I'll give them another try.

We really had never tried Ceviche before, but the online menu really looked spectacular. Our waitress was Angie, and she was fantastic. Such a great personality, and she went out of her way to explain all the details before we ordered. It's actually disappointing that we are just passing through and may never go back, because I would seriously like to try every last item. Rather than bore you with the list of everything we ordered, I'll share what we considered to be the best of the best. CALAMARI... we both love calamari, and we have eaten this dish at many different places. This was the best ever. Perfect. CEVICHE DE SALMON EN CANASTA DE TOSTON... seriously one of the most delicious things I have ever put in my mouth. While we did order both the ceviche camaron and the ceviche trio mixto, the hands-down winner, no questions asked, was the CEVICHE DIVINO. We finished with the TORTA DE CHOCOLATE and the smoothest, creamiest cup of coffee ever. My wife is a chocolate cake expert, and while I was finishing all the ceviche, she was having an out of body experience with the cake. I have to say that while we are borderline foodies and love cooking and eating, we probably are not the most adventurous. So glad today was different, and so thrilled with our decision to eat here. 10/10
