    Dining at a Michelin Star restaurant was at the top of my To-Do List during my visit to Paris, only rivaled by climbing the Eiffel Tower. I had high expectations from a restaurant that boasted a star and I am happy that I chose this establishment for my first Michelin Star experience. I decided on the 3 course lunch, and was pleasantly surprised when 2 additional courses were added on at no charge (one before our appetizer and the other after our dessert). The lunch menu changes frequently so although my pictures might look tasty I suggest looking at the lunch menu before hand to see what the offering might be. Was the food phenomenal, no but it was delicious and I genuinely enjoyed all the courses. Just for fun though the Shrimp Risotto was my favorite course and I was visibly saddened when my spoon hit the bottom of my bowl. The only negative experience for me was the hovering by the waiters. Our conversation was frequently interrupted by someone refilling our barely empty waters or checking in to make sure we were fine. Also, since we were seated next to the entryway into the dining room they were in our line of sight just standing there waiting to spring into action. For me that kind of took away from the experience and overall enjoyment of the meal, but honestly I was so excited to be there it only registered as a mild annoyance. Would I come back to La Truffière? I probably would for sentimental reasons since it was my first Michelin Star restaurant, but beyond that I'm excited to try the many other restaurants Paris has to offer.

    There are houses whose constancy and perseverance in adversity must be commended. La Truffière had suffered a fire in 2002, which forced it to abandon its elegant fireplace (when you are kept by safety standards). It had waited years for a Michelin star, which has been significantly faster for other establishments. At the departure of Jean-Christophe Rizet, the same guide removed this same star with a celerity rarely seen. It has been known to be much slower for other establishments... The parenthesis Poard being closed, we begin today on new bases with Aurélien Braguier. If I tell you that his last job was with Jean-Luc Rabanel, you know immediately what to expect: the sublimation of the vegetable in all its forms. It starts with an amuse-bouche of peas with a confit tomato sauce, sesame-mounted cream and shizo young shoots. A preparation that clears the mouth at the beginning of a meal. Pretty worked product that sets the mood. The ceviche de dorade alternates the variety of tastes by mixing avocado, lemon, Espelette pepper, red peppers and mango. The leaves of nasturtium and cucumber flowers complete the whole. There will be a slight imbalance on the lemon, a hint too present. Small concern recognized by the chef and attributed, we agree, the settings inseparable from his recent arrival. The mackerel is more Provençal since it is smoked with thyme and rosemary and accompanied by beans. The flower and especially the nasturtium leaf, which was already on the ceviche, gives an original peppery edge. It is accompanied by an infusion of kaffir lime and fish bones stock. Infusion which is in fact an aroma but completely defatted. The appellation is more light! It is always this nasturtium found on shrimp turmeric snack with an emulsion with seaweed. Finally a little meat with the oysters meat of the crunchy tartlet of yellow carrots, parsnip, shizo and borage flower for this time. Then the Iberian pork presa, fennel, beetroot, carrot tops and nasturtium young shoots. And a reduced poultry juice. What does not change at La Truffière is the impressive cheese platter that honors the French tradition. They are more and more rare the restaurants that dare to exceed the banal assortment of three / four pasta preserved without respect in the refrigerator. As for desserts, the recent arrival of the chef has not yet given him the time to organize the menu as he pleases. So we remain for the moment on good achievements but remain fairly traditional, without the originality deployed in salty. We can not finish a meal at La Truffière without being tempted by a digestive that Eric Pelchat will find you by plunging greedily into the cellar! Armagnac being my sin, it will be a Domaine de Mader 1974. For the wines, Christian Sainsard is a passionate who accumulates the most prestigious flasks. It does not have 1 but 17 vintages of Petrus, 27 of Ausone and 28 of Cheval Blanc. But also 2 pages of Romanée-Conti and 13 pages of Champagne! So you will find something to please. But will I unnecessarily lengthen this article with the photos of the bottles that I had the pleasure (and the honor) to taste? I make you a simple gallery which, if you read the legends, will enrich without any problem your oenological culture. And you will of course salivate!

    I wanted to make my first meal in Paris big, so I came to La Truffiere and was not disappointed. I got the 7 course Aroma menu and a glass of wine. Service - Best service I think I've received... ever! I've never had a more polite waiter in my life. He made sure every aspect of my experience was to my liking. He would do a great job explaining the dishes and also tell me about his favourite dishes in the set as well. They really make you feel like royalty! Food - Where do I begin. Attention to detail was top notch. The dishes were all plated elegantly; you couldn't even find a messy spot or smudge if you tried! My favourite dishes in the set were: Fish in coconut cream and King crab ravioli. The other dishes were good as well, however I wasn't really a big fan of the pistachio mousse and brie dish. It was very heavy and could use either less brie, or something to cut the fattiness. At the end they serve a few of their house treats, the standouts were: of course their famous Truffle Macaron (SO good!), and their truffle caramel. I would definitely recommend this place. How it doesn't have a Michelin star yet is beyond me, but if they keep it up I have no doubt they'll get it soon!

    The food was definitely not good. Salty in general. Main course l had was lamb shoulder was hard and cannot chew at all, even said it was 7hrs cooked. though the service was good, everyone was very nice and helpful. Great service!

    Had a 7 course tasting dinner at this restaurant that specialises in truffles. The meal was excellent and the service was GREAT! Overall the experience is memorable.

However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. This was also a spot that didn't cater too much to tourists by having English on the menu. I don't fault them for that though, it's their country. I would recommend having a translator app at the ready though with French downloaded. As for the food it was a bit of a letdown for me. We had a number of items to share with each other. Without having reliable signal in Paris, it was hard to use the translator app so I'll do my best with the foods. We ordered a ratatouille (don't think it was a traditional one though), a shrimp dish, white sauce pasta, escargot, duck breast and the chocolate mousse. The ratatouille was OK but was just like a roughly chopped cooked vegetable dish. The shrimp dish was fine as well but nothing standoutish. Our favorite dish was my friend's white sauce pasta; it was flavorful, rich and decadent but somehow not overpowering. The escargot, as expected was not good for me, but "When in Rome" (or Paris haha). It was just a weird chewy Thing that just tasted like oil and garlic with whatever herbs they used. I especially was off put by the little grains of sand or broken shell that was a part of each bite. The duck breast was a little bland if not for the sauce and it was also a tad tough as well. I will say the chocolate mousse was super rich and sweet; I couldn't eat that whole order by myself but it's nice to share for a little end of meal treat.

I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.

The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

The sauce of the day on the day we went was a blackberry sauce which was crazy good. With a bottle of wine at 24 euros and both entrees under 20 euros, you couldn't really beat a meal of that quality in many places around Paris for that price. It was only after I ate at Le Potager did I see it had a bunch of great reviews on Yelp. It's definitely earned all those stars.
