    Gazpacho appetizer.

Friendly, small restaurant in walking distance from the Marais and Louvre. Only 24 seats...reservations required w credit card guarantee. I started w a fresh gazpacho that hat just a touch of heat...was so yummy. Someone else at our table had the ceviche. For main courses, one person had the scallops and vegetables, another had the special of the day, which was beef bourguignon and I had the duck confit. The duck was perfectly cooked, crispy and came with some delicious small roasted potatoes. The other dishes looked equally delicious. Very limited wine menu with fairly reasonable prices. Service was a bit slow to start, but the food came out punctually and was hot and delicious. Mix of French and tourists.

This place is small and seemingly in the middle of nowhere but they serve amazing food for very reasonable prices. The decour inside is nice as well. For the starters: The foie gras is amazing and for the price it definetly seems like a steal. The salmon tartar was also top notch. For the main courses: The steak dishes here were definetly the best. The pork was great too. The duck was definetly the weakest but not bad at all. The only con for me was the roasted potatoes were drenched in vinegar so it was sour, not my cup of tea. If you enjoy that taste, you'll love the potatoes too. For the desserts: The Cheesecake and the Molten Lava Cake were both very good!

    Friendly joyful ambiance galore.

I'm in love! The food, the ambiance, the owner who serves all of his guests hearty portions of beautifully crafted, delicious French food leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. We were the only non-French there but it was packed so this small, unassuming restaurant in a more remote area is definitely a hidden gem! I cannot recommend this place strongly enough as it was one of the highlights of our entire trip! We had lots of food and everything was amazing. You absolutely cannot go wrong by dining here!!!

Located on a small, seemingly deserted side street, this restaurant has the largest portion of French food I have ever eaten for the cheapest prices. For only €28, you get the three course menu that would have cost double the amount or half the size of the dishes in America. My order Gambas en Cadaif (king prawn) is decent and they make the tomatoes taste amazing. Onglet de Boeuf Black Angus d'Irlande (steak) has three small pieces of steak that are pretty good, but I'd recommend trying something more french. Moelleux au chocolat, coeur de Caramel Sale (lava cake) is extremely chocolaty so if you like chocolate, I'd recommend it. My friend's order Ravioles de romons, sauce cremeuse au parmesan (parmesan raviole) has the tiniest ravioli I have ever seen and the dish is a little cheesy. Tartare de boeuf (tartare beef) comes with ALOT of raw meat. Don't expect those bite size pieces of tartar on bread because this entree packs in a lot of meat. cCoupe de sorbeto miason (apricot, strawberry, rasberry sorbet) is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. I've never heard of apricot sorbet, but its really good and the strawberry and rasberry sorbet are equally amazing. My other friend's order The Foie Gras is enormous in size. The largest, tastiest I've ever seen and definitely worth spending the extra €3. The duck is a little dry and all the potato fills you up too quickly. Enorme frofiterolle (ice cream sandwich) is true to its name. A long doughnut with three scoops of vanilla ice cream will fill you up if you were not full already. The owner was very nice and translates the menu into English if you don't know how to read French. One thing I learned here is that you don't have to tip 10% like you do in America. You tip the amount that you think they deserve.

Service is very nice. Ambiance is very nice. Away from the usual crowded places. Serves awesome traditional french dishes (French comfort food). Will not leave you hungry.

Tiny hole in the wall that serves a delicious steak tartare! My friend and I were the only non-French people in the restaurant so that says a lot for me about the authenticity and quality of the food. We both were still pretty full from eating earlier so we opted to share the steak tartare entree. Steak tartare was excellent! Probably one of the best I had and my friend said that this was her favorite meal in Paris! If we were hungrier, we would have definitely given the duck confit a try but maybe next time!

Totally disappointed. We came in at 11pm and the place was empty. We walked here from our Airbnb and passed a handful of crowded eateries on the way so timing wasn't the issue. Empty restaurant should have been a flag for us but we were exhausted from our full day so decided to give them a try. We ordered foie gras marinated in red port and cognac for hors d'oeuvres. The only decent dish but still nothing exceptional €15 For nos plats, we got the magret de canard and filet de Boeuf. The duck was rubbery and way over cooked along with petit légumes. It was mushy and bland. I soaked the duck in the sauce that it sat on to give it some moisture and make it more palatable but it didn't help. Too bad. €24 Filet de Boeuf was blah. It had an absorbing taste that may need some getting used to. To me it tasted very gamey in a bad way that sent warning signals of bad meat? I couldn't eat more then two bites. Potatoes that accompanied it was soft. From the looks of it's browning color you'd expect a nice crisp outside, soft buttery inside. The sauce it also sat in was not helpful €25 We were going to order dessert but we gave up hope that this meal was going to end well. Also, two buck Chuck is better than their house red.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

When I arrived, there was a rustic table in the entry room where I was seated. I ordered an entrée of mini mushroom raviolis in truffle sauce, a plat of scallops over orzo which had chorizo chunks and a dessert of frozen Grand Marnier soufflé. The portions were generous. I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.
