Worst Mexican restaurant that I've ever eaten at. Over 50 numbered meals like we are at McDonald's eating a happy meal. It's like they tried to create 50 versions of the same meal. Additionally the manager was the rudest person in charge that I've ever met. The rest of the staff was nice but he was a total jerk that should be retired immediately. STAY AWAY YOU CAN GET BETTER FOOD AT TACO BELL. read more

They charge extra for salsa...really unbelievable, specially considering I ordered 7 seven dishes. Most of the food was bland, portion s a good size but if the food is not good then it does not matter read more

The food was absolutely delicious! I meant to take pics but it was too good to stop and take one. I had the Gordo Burrito, and usually, I'm hesitant about ordering burritos bc I usually find the chicken too dry and or bland. This was not an issue at all here. Everything was well seasoned (not salty) and moist. I had a side of beans, too, bc I love beans, and it was heaven. No salsa, sour cream, or other condiments were needed to enjoy this meal. The burrito was also my lunch the next day as this was a huge burrito. read more

This is a local spot for my girlfriend and I. We have been here several times to eat in and order out. The customer service is amazing. They make sure you never have to wait on anything. You will be in and out. The drinks are a nice size and are blended well. The food is a great quantity for the price you pay. The only recommendation I have is to add a tad more seasoning to the food. read more

Update: I have recently been messaged by someone named Alfonso M. telling me I should figure out the cost of shipping before calling the furniture cheap.. Seriously?!!! Yelp is a place that people should be free to give honest and raw opinions and that is what I did.. and I believe I rated it very fairly. I really hope this is not a business owner or anyone associated. I will keep my stars at 3 and not fault the restaurant for this. Had high hopes for this place but I'm not impressed. Food- Its fine, not crazy good by any means. They give you large portions which is good. I typically get the shrimp quesadilla. The margarita was huge which is nice, but just okay tasting for me. I will say the tableside guac is cool and good! I wish they didn't have that tip jar because I don't often have cash on me so it makes things difficult. Atmosphere- Disappointing. This restaurant replaced Friendly's..not a thing changed with the layout the only difference is a black ceiling and Mexican style booths that are cheaper looking (in my opinion). It's not well lit inside. I was hoping for a new fresh look but can't see any way they'll do better than Friendly's. No outdoor seating is a bummer. read more

Went during happy hour for margaritas. Strawberry sucked. the server never asked us what size. They of course charged us double. When we asked the manager about he said it is what it is, should I call the police. This place is a complete joke! Management sucks and so does the staff. Food not that impressive. Will never go again, doesn matter the location. read more

Food was hit or miss but the place was not busy and somehow managed to be 40 minutes behind on my take out order. Guac was brown, iceberg lettuce does not belong in takeout containers, dessert was half raw, chips were over done with a strong after-flavor of old oil. read more

I ordered lunch special #3 and it was great! It was a to go order- I was very impressed that they served me such good food so quickly, my order was out in less than 5 minutes. The folks working there are also very nice and seem genuinely happy to see you in their restaurant. Nice hospitality like this in a restaurant is rare in this area, so I will definitely look forward to coming back to La Tolteca again. The decor inside was colorful but tastefully done. Also, prices are very reasonable-another rarity for this area. I highly recommend La Toltecs for those looking for authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

La Tolteca - Always a good experience when choosing street tacos! This place is a great go to. - Mexican Near Me - Crofton, Maryland

Great food and service. I have never had a bad experience. Great family dinner place. Not too loud.

I loved the queso, chips and salsa. Chicken and cheese quesadilla was cooked perfectly. My new favorite Mexican restaurant

It's the most authentic Mexican cooking I've had in the Crofton area. Delicious and lots to choose from on the menu. Love the Taquitos de la Calle; it's a great combo of flavors and a great way to try different options on one plate. Carnitas are to die for. Friendly and fast service. Love this place! read more

My boyfriend and I go here atleast once every 2 months. Most recently, we went here 06/30/2021. I got a tequila sunrise and street tacos as shown (shrimp). The customer service is amazing! The servers want to get you in and out, but with still an enjoyable experience. I willl definitely be going back. My only suggestion is to add a tiny bit more seasoning to the shrimp, other then that no complaints at all!!!!! read more

This place is great! The food and service are excellent. I typically get takeout from here and I love how smoothly receiving my order is. The chips and salsa are a must, the burritos are delish, and the menu has options for everyone! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. It's a little loud, but nothing overbearing read more

My burrito hit the spot. I was craving Mexican and didn't want to drive the extra 25 minutes to my favorite Mexican restaurant. Our visit was on June 07, 2020 during COVID so we couldn't go inside. The to go orders are packaged well and our food was hot.The one negative about ordering a to go order is that they charge you a $1. I thought that was strange considering it was my only option. If we are in the area we will definitely stop by when we are able to dine in.The staff was very appreciative for the business which was great to see. read more

July 2, 2020 The manager at the La Tolteca Restaurant location in Crofton, Maryland, would not honor its own daily specials that were mailed out to residents in the Valu Pak coupon mailer specifically designating this particular restaurant location for redeeming these coupon offers. According to the manager, the coupon offers contained in the Valu Pak mailer should not have been mailed out Even the banner hanging outside the restaurant mentions that "daily specials all day." This is an obvious "bait and switch" tactic, and it is a ploy to attract and lure customers who received the coupons, but will be unable to redeem them and use them when they come to the restaurant. Unfortunately, I was unable to post this review without adding at least 1 star; otherwise, I would have left the stars ranking for this particular restaurant location completely blank. Shame on you, La Tolteca Restaurant, in Crofton, Maryland!!! read more

I got the chori pollo and really enjoyed it. However my dining partners meals were no where near as good. They got the beef tacos and the chicken enchiladas. Overall it's a decent spot for Mexican in an area that is lacking in options. If this was just based on my meal, I would've been tempted to give it five stars. read more

Food was average-ish, no corn tortillas. Service was so bad I'm kind of in awe. I would strongly avoid. There are so many better places to eat that wont treat you poorly and overcharge read more

My family and I love the service here and the food is fantastic. The Pollo Encremado is sooo tasty. We also love the fajitas, the margaritas (especially the jalapeño one) and more. I think they could improve their guacamole, though. That's really my only complaint. We enjoy the ambiance, too. La Tolteca has become our family's Friday evening tradition! read more

I went here for lunch with my husband and small child. We absolutely enjoyed everything. I got the four carnitas tacos, which was apart of the lunch menu, and they were so delicious! My husband got the shrimp burrito and couldn't stop talking about it. My daughter got the chicken tenders, which were just okay ( I think she got full on the chips and salsa). It's a chill spot, very family oriented. I also recommend the Cassamigos margarita! read more

We stopped in late one weekday night for dinner. Great food and service. Will definitely go back.

My wife and I went for a lunch here. I ordered shrimp tacos for lunch, which came with shrimp, lettuce, etc. It was very bland. I have had much better tacos before. My wife ordered spinach quesadilla and they were pretty good. 5/5 for quesadillas. Quesadilla seemed to be pan fried with good amount of oil...that added to the taste. Service is good and fast. Pretty good place for once a while lunch date for us during week days. read more

A craving for Mexican led us to try this restaurant. We both ordered from the lunch specials menu. I've been meaning to try this place since it opened, but for whatever reason did not get there until 2/1/2020. My family was out of town, so I went by myself to give it a shot. While the restaurant was busy, it was not completely full. However, service was poor to fair. While someone brought chips and salsa right away, I needed to flag someone down to take my order. I first asked an obvious question about their draft beer prices. A single 16 ounce draft of Modelo is $3.99. A 32 ounce draft of the same thing is $8.50. Why is one that is exactly twice as big more than twice the cost? One would expect it to be a bit less. They had no explanation for me other than that is the way it is. So, if you plan to drink 2, buy them one at a time. You'll save 52 cents, and the 2nd 16 ounces will be colder and fresher. I ordered the queso as an appetizer and the Grande Burrito as my entree. After what seemed like a long time to get my appetizer, the entree appeared. I asked what happened to my queso, and then they ran off to get it. The queso is rather bland and watery. The Grande Burrito was decent, nothing to complain about there. I did have to flag someone down to get a beer refill, and again in order to get a box for leftovers and the check. Summary is be careful of menu prices, the food is okay, and the service is spotty. I much prefer Los Portales or Plaza Garibaldi. I wish Pachanga Grill was still in business. read more

This place is amazing! Great service and great food! Will be coming back as soon as possible!

This used to be one of our "Go To" places for Mexican but this last trip was very poor. Service was EXCELLENT! but food was ridiculous. We spent $60 for 7 tacos ( 2 seperate orders-3 flour shell 4 hard shells) and they barely put any meat in the tacos (SEE BELOW PICTURE) and no sour cream or tomatoes or ANYTHING else other than lettuce and cheese on them. And the beans were no better than canned refried beans and the rice was no better than boxed mexician rice. And to add, everything was over the top Salty. I wouldn't have minded spending $20 for everything but $60 for 4 drinks and some tacos?? Next time it's Mighty Taco! read more
