Our group of four had a great experience at Mucho Gusto. Bella provided friendly, patient service and took the time to explain the menu and answer our questions. We enjoyed the fresh guacamole and appreciated the variety of freshly prepared dishes. The enchiladas, tacos, and sizzling fajitas were all well received, and the margarita, Mexican Old Fashioned, and other cocktails were excellent. I ordered the specialty birria tacos, which were tasty and came with a flavorful consommé, but they lacked the richness I was expecting due to the light amount of cheese and felt a bit small for $18 considering they came with no sides. Food wise this was a 4-star visit Service wise this was a 2-3 star visit as my server was always absent; I had to ask another server for drink refills. Usually guacamole is kinda flavorless but having the spicy element really made it taste amazing--and they didn't skimp out on the serving size you get a HUGE bowl! We also ordered the queso fundido, this wasn't as good and I probably wouldn't order again as it was pretty tasteless. As my entree I ordered the Mucho Gusto fajita (includes shrimp, steak and chicken), the dish came STEAMIN hot which I really appreciated. I will say though the fajita mix itself was amazing the Mexican rice and refried beans were cold and didn't taste good at all so I didn't end of eating those. However, the fajita mix itself was great and I had a lot of leftovers! For drinks we ordered the Blueberry Pina Margarita, very good! They were not shy with the patron either, so that was a plus. Two crab enchiladas is a small portion. Most Mexican dishes give you at least three. Tortilla Soup- Not your traditional tortilla soup. The soup is super thick and was very tomato based. I did not eat much of it because the texture was off. Soup is supposed to be a broth, this one reminded me of chili. I did not like this at all. Chef if you're reading this add more chick stock and broth. That would make this more appealing and edible. Drinks- Now I'll give them this, they make a beautiful cocktail. It's not exorbitantly expensive, but for a cuisine that's known for being a bit more budget-friendly, it was a little more than you'd expect to spend. This applies to both the drinks and the food. I will say, though, that you absolutely get what you pay for! The portions are pretty generous and the quality is exceptional! We started with the chips, which were not included for free, but they are well worth the 5 bucks! The chips themselves are thick and well-seasoned. The salsa was fresh and tasted fantastic! I had the birria quesadilla as my entrée. Despite the fact that it came with nothing on the said (except the consommé of course), it was plenty of food for me. If you generally run hungrier (I've been eating less lately), then you might want a side. But, I didn't need one. The drinks are great! I had the Bourbon Slap, and I would get that again 10/10! I also had the Flor de Jamaica (apologies on spelling), and it was quite good! Per the server, they make most everything in house, including this beverage. You can tell, too! Highly recommend! Additionally, Mucho Gusto offers a wide variety of mimosa options. And, the freshly made guacamole is a nice portion size and shareable, Unfortunately, the wait staff lacked personality and it took more than 20 minutes before I received my drink {and it wasn't crowded}. I've been wanting to try this place for some time. So we decided to just stop by. Upon arrival we had approximately a 10 minute wait for 2 which wasn't bad. We visited Mucho Gusto in Gambrills, MD and overall had a really good experience with both the food and drinks. The ambience was nice--clean, modern, and relaxed--and it wasn't crowded at all for a weekday during their happy hour, which made the experience even better. We started with the Nachos, which come with tortilla chips, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and salsa ranchera, topped with Cotija cheese, avocado sauce, and crema. We added ground beef, and while the nachos were tasty, we definitely could have used more meat. There was plenty of everything else, but the ground beef portion was light compared to the rest of the toppings. We also tried the Birria Sliders--two sliders brushed with birria consommé, packed with Birria meat and melted Mexican cheeses, served with an extra side of consommé. These were delicious and full of flavor. The Boom Boom Shrimp was another standout: beer-battered shrimp tossed in MG Boom Boom sauce, served over Mexican slaw with pineapple pico, and topped with Thai chili aioli. You can also make it vegetarian, which is a great option. Both dishes were great! For drinks, we ordered The Ocho Gusto Margarita (Tequila Ocho Reposado, Grand Marnier floater, agave, mandarin & lime juice), which was strong and well-balanced, and a Strawberry Lemonade, which was refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. Overall, the food was flavorful and creatively put together. With a little more generosity on the nacho meat, the meal would have been perfect. We were excited to try a new place. However, this was a huge let down in many ways. Party of 2, arrived around 6:30 or so. The place was mostly empty. The font size on the menu is extremely small, even with 20/20 vision it was difficult to read. Bring your readers! Got seated quickly. Took roughly 10 mins for a server to arrive, they brought water. Asked if we'd been there, we said no. He basically read the table tent about how everything is prepared fresh to serve from drinks to food. Unlike other Mexican restaurants, no chips and salsa served, unless you purchased it for $5, and extra chips/salsa cost even more. One beer was $6 One high ball class basic marg was $15! The taquito app was $11. We assumed it would prob be 4-6 taquitos for the price, it was 3 chicken ones, luke warm in the center. Nothing mentioned on menu about it being 3 taquitos. So we each had 1 and a half. Odd number for an app/starter. Long wait till the Server eventually came back to take our dinner order. Server appeared to be bothered by our presence and/or to be working. We ordered: Fajita quesadilla $19 -it was good, but not worth the price to the size 3 mix/match tacos $16- mediocre to poor. No sides included with the tacos. Chicken taco, tasted like a mixed salad thrown onto a corn tortilla. Carnitas tacos were dry, cut cubed like, not pulled, not much flavor. Could only choose either flour or corn tortilla for all 3 tacos; couldn't mix and match tortillas for some reason. Do not recommend either chicken or carnitas. Server never returned to check on meal/food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience was good. The establishment appears to be wanting to be more upscale, however the food and drinks is not matching the prices and quality of the items.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most importantly an 18% gratuity is added!! We were a party of 2 and the gratuity was added because it was "after 3 pm". We read about the gratuity in a previous review and looked for it to be posted. On the bottom of the menu it states 18% gratuity added to parties of 6 or more, $150 or more and all day Tuesdays. Nothing mentioned about after 3pm. We were told when our bill was handed to us. Not impressed! The prices are outrageous for what you get. Sides aren't even included in most of not all options. I won't return, better and less expensive Mexican food elsewhere. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is always attentive, nice, and quick. The food is also always top notch. I tried the chilaquiles with half the plate with red sauce and the other half green sauce. I enjoyed both saucees. Chips were fresh and absorbed just the right amount of sauce. I met up with my BFF for a little dinner and A LOT of laughs! Mucho Gusto aesthetics are EVERYTHING! Cute lounge area that you apparently must book to be seated in that space, cute and vibrant bar scene and a welcoming environment! Much Gusto is located behind the Dick's Sporting Goods in Gambrills and has plenty of parking. We were seated at one of the high table tops near the bar. We ordered the guacamole for an appetizer, a few drinks and entrees. The guacamole is probably the best I've had in a long time. Seasoned perfectly! They even had homemade chips for dipping! I had the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce as an entree and they were absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Razzle Dazzle as a bevie and it did not disappoint! We had to give the desserts a try, so I ordered the churro ice cream sundae. Excellent choice on my part because it was a 10 out of 10! The only complaint I have is the noise volume. With the restaurant being a big open room, the acoustics are extremely loud. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time here. I think that's actually an understatement, since we were seated at 5:30 and didn't leave until 9:30! there is a host stand when you first enter the main entrance. there was no one there and I waited there for an extremely long time, the bartender saw me waiting at the host stand until I just sat at the bar. it wasn't busy when I came. when I finally sat, my waitress was helpful with letting me know about the restaurant and food information. she was very polite. she brought over a glass of water and water jug without me having to ask for water. Went for a quick date night bite with my husband. We stopped in around a little before 6 on a Saturday night and were told there was a 30 minute wait. Our table was ready in about 15 minutes. The guacamole was the BEST I've ever had. The chips were hot and fresh and not loaded with a lot of salt, which I loved. Our server, Javier was phenomenal! He was polite, attentive and hospitable. I had the crab enchiladas which were filled with lump crab meat and dressed in a slightly spicy sauce, such was delicious. My husband had the mahi blackened tacos with a side of black beans and rice. We enjoyed our food. It was hot and fresh. I had the Gusto margarita cocktail; it was tasty and strong. We will definitely recommend this place. The only thing we did not care for was the seating. There isn't really a dignified waiting area. Upon being seated, we were east behind a couple waiting for their food which was separated by a long rectangular-shaped planter with a cactus and two other plants. Took my parents & aunt here over the weekend, it was their first time and Afterwards they raved about it. Mucho Gusto service, ambiance, quality and portion of the food will never disappoint. I tried one of their mocktails on this visit. It was called a wannabe. The watermelon puree in the drink was not artificial. It was fresh & tasty. For an appetizer, I ordered guacamole for the table. We all agreed this was the best guacamole we ever had!! All the flavors shined bright! My aunt and I don't even like guacamole. We both throughly enjoyed it and had 3 or 4 scoops of it. I'm actually craving more right now. I also ordered some Elote to start. Mucho Gusto has a really good one. I love me some Elote. For my entree, I ordered Crab Enchiladas with Mexican rice. It was very good& the crab meat was plentiful. We were all stuffed in the end but couldn't leave without dessert. We split an order of churros. Could have been a tad softer but still tasty. Mucho Gusto is a nice spot! Just a heads up they currently seat first come, unless your party is over a certain number. The decor is super cute and modern, and I loved how spacious it felt with a good amount of room between tables. After about a 15-minute wait, we were seated at a high-top table, which I wasn't expecting (especially since I was in a dress), but it was fine. Our server was really sweet and new, and she let us know everything is made in-house including the juices! We started with the queso fundido with ground beef, it was okay but lacked flavor for me. I got the birria quesadilla and it was delicious! super juicy, and I drank all of my consomé! My husband had the crab enchiladas. They were a little dry inside, but the sauce helped a lot. Now if you were raised on bland food that looks pretty and lacks taste, this is the place for you. The queso, was below average in taste and the portion was small, it was small and bland enough for a baby that just started eating solid foods. The chimichanga which I added chicken to was me basically eating fried bread and rice, I counted 8 pieces of chicken...okay nine but it was as large as a pea. I can't judge the music because I wasn't there on a music night. But I can tell you this: The wait time to get seated...slow, and there were only two groups sitting down...what's the hold up?!?! We tried this place for my sisters birthday dinner. Her man invited us out and we met there. Service was slow at the bar. Our waitress did say a bartender was in training but that doesn't excuse our drinks coming out at different times. And my mans margarita didn't show up until after our entree was served. Maybe they don't want to over season and risk the food coming back to the kitchen. But for me if I'm eating Mexican food I want all of the flavors. I do like that they have small plates if you don't have a big appetite or just need a snack to go along with your cocktail. Oh the drinks - meh. Under delivered and overpriced. I frequented this establishment several times and never had an issue. Yesterday me and my bestie went to enjoy some good food. We arrived around 4:30pm. Upon receiving the bill we noticed an 18% gratuity. Usually gratuity is for 6 or more people. When i asked the mgr i was informed a gratuity is added anytime after 3pm and all day on Tuesday. We were not told prior to our meal. The mgr further stated he does this because his staff wasn't getting tips. He also said its posted in the restaurant. Look where its posted. They have a massive offering of tequilas and mezcals which can be overwhelming just to choose a flight but that could also make you a repeat customer since it's more than likely not recommended to sample all at one time lol. None of the food I've tried makes me say I must come back for although there are many choices. I really wanted them to be authentic and a new favorite spot. I ended up getting the quesadilla with crab which was good, but for the price the portion was really small. The service here from the bartender to the manager is horrible.... we had a disagreement regarding a food item that I didn't order and things went left where I feel like they don't cater to their customers. I've been to Mucho Gusto Gambrills location a few times, and I've loved my experience every time. Crazy that this is my first Yelp review on it, but I've yet to have a bad experience here! This new Winter Menu featured a couple of new food and drink items to try, yet the only thing new for me was the Mexican Meatball Soup. The flavors mesh so well together and it's not salty at all. All the ingredients taste so fresh and well balanced! The Coquito drink is a favorite every winter time. The service was pretty quick as always, and I always sit at the bar for great hospitality and a pretty ambiance. Mucho gusto is mucho yummy, albeit a little pricey for the food portions and their cocktails. I love that they are family friendly with high chairs for my baby girl and also super cute for happy hour in the bar area. This location was also clean with a stocked and tidy bathroom during my visits. You won't want to miss the boom boom shrimp or their nachos. I also love that the crab balls are very Maryland style and don't have too much filler in them. The waitstaff and bartenders are always friendly and helpful but they've been out of some of the mezcals and tequilas we've wanted to try for different drink flights on two recent visits so hopefully they will address the inventory/ stocking issues at the bar before the Spring / Summer. read more

My wife and I have been wanting to come here since it opened, but decided to wait until some of the rush died down. We popped in to see what it was looking like today and it wasn't packed so we dined in. I'm not an expert on interior design, but the set up here is nice. They staff is friendly, and the food was good. I ended up getting the Arrachera [skirt steak with oaxaca cheese and chimichurri served on patatas bravas] a lot of good flavor in this dish. The blackberry bourbon smash was on point also. We plan on coming back soon for happy hour. So good to see something come into the area thats not chicken and fries. read more

The food is very good. I am a little frustrated that they routinely get my online order take out order wrong. Tonight I was missing two side salads at $5 each. I think the people checking the bags need to be more detailed. read more
