Our group of four had a great experience at Mucho Gusto. Bella provided friendly, patient service and took the time to explain the menu and answer our questions. We enjoyed the fresh guacamole and appreciated the variety of freshly prepared dishes. The enchiladas, tacos, and sizzling fajitas were all well received, and the margarita, Mexican Old Fashioned, and other cocktails were excellent. I ordered the specialty birria tacos, which were tasty and came with a flavorful consommé, but they lacked the richness I was expecting due to the light amount of cheese and felt a bit small for $18 considering they came with no sides. Overall, a very enjoyable meal with great service, drinks, and a menu we'd gladly come back to explore further. read more

Was craving empanadas this day and Mucho Gusto came to mind, so off I went. The beef empanadas were really good and the dipping sauce has a nice depth of flavor. Food wise this was a 4-star visit Service wise this was a 2-3 star visit as my server was always absent; I had to ask another server for drink refills. He didn't tell me about specials but he pointed them out to other tables. He didn't ask me about dessert but he did with other tables. read more

"A Very Festive Afternoon" Mucho Gusto definitely brings the vibes and their atmosphere is lively in a quaint and quiet way.... The bartender's were on point and made a really good margarita ( something I always value when I'm enjoying any happy hour ) I ordered the Carne Asada and boom boom shrimps. And I was very pleased with the portions, price and taste ( made my own soft shell tacos ) for me it was the right amount of cheese ( I'm a cheese lover ) and their season game was on point ! I was a little shocked they didn't have the hard shell tortillas available, but that didn't take away from my experience at all !! Definitely a spot I plan to sit down at a few times over the spring and summer. read more

Great ambiance, great food, great service! I was slightly apprehensive given the mixed reviews, but my experience last night was great. Fair warning, try to get your name on the waitlist if you're going for a popular time (dinner) as the wait was about 25 mins though that wasn't a problem for us I know some like to get in and get seated and this place is fairly popular based on the crowd. The decor is extremely beautiful, and I was surpassed at the layout as I expected it to be super cramped, but there's more than enough space between tables and parties which is nice. Our server, Kylie, was amazing! Her recommendations were top tier and she checked in on us frequently to ensure we were well taken care of. We ordered spicy guacamole, amazing! Usually guacamole is kinda flavorless but having the spicy element really made it taste amazing--and they didn't skimp out on the serving size you get a HUGE bowl! We also ordered the queso fundido, this wasn't as good and I probably wouldn't order again as it was pretty tasteless. As my entree I ordered the Mucho Gusto fajita (includes shrimp, steak and chicken), the dish came STEAMIN hot which I really appreciated. I will say though the fajita mix itself was amazing the Mexican rice and refried beans were cold and didn't taste good at all so I didn't end of eating those. However, the fajita mix itself was great and I had a lot of leftovers! For drinks we ordered the Blueberry Pina Margarita, very good! They were not shy with the patron either, so that was a plus. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely be back to try their other menu items! read more

Being Latina I take my Mexican Restaurants seriously. I'm not easily impressed. To be fair the website says their food is Mexican influenced and Latin inspired. Noted. Basic Mexican dishes can't miss. Service: I'd say they were okay as far as service. Our waitress was great, host wasn't memorable and there was no manager presence. No hello, hola, how ya doing, how's your food? Ambiance: Casual setting with Latin theme, all the flags from Latin America are aligned throughout the restaurant. Let's get into it! Appetizer: Guacamole with Crab - Good! Would definitely order again. Entrees: Crab Enchiladas- The dish is very small, the rice and black beans overpower the plate. Two crab enchiladas is a small portion. Most Mexican dishes give you at least three. Tortilla Soup- Not your traditional tortilla soup. The soup is super thick and was very tomato based. I did not eat much of it because the texture was off. Soup is supposed to be a broth, this one reminded me of chili. I did not like this at all. Chef if you're reading this add more chick stock and broth. That would make this more appealing and edible. Drinks- Now I'll give them this, they make a beautiful cocktail. In summation I would never come back, it's decent but not good to me. One and done here. Should you try? Yup, to each their own palate. read more

I wish I'd known when they'd opened, so I could have tried them sooner! We visited in December 2025 and, despite how long they've been here, they were jam-packed! There wasn't a long wait, though, which was nice, maybe 10 minutes ultimately. I have two complaints. One, the noise. MAN is it LOUD in here! Even the server apologized for it when she greeted us. I'm guessing that means they field a lot of complaints about it. But, it was the holiday season and everyone was having a good time, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Two, prices. It's not exorbitantly expensive, but for a cuisine that's known for being a bit more budget-friendly, it was a little more than you'd expect to spend. This applies to both the drinks and the food. I will say, though, that you absolutely get what you pay for! The portions are pretty generous and the quality is exceptional! We started with the chips, which were not included for free, but they are well worth the 5 bucks! The chips themselves are thick and well-seasoned. The salsa was fresh and tasted fantastic! I had the birria quesadilla as my entrée. Despite the fact that it came with nothing on the said (except the consommé of course), it was plenty of food for me. If you generally run hungrier (I've been eating less lately), then you might want a side. But, I didn't need one. The drinks are great! I had the Bourbon Slap, and I would get that again 10/10! I also had the Flor de Jamaica (apologies on spelling), and it was quite good! Per the server, they make most everything in house, including this beverage. You can tell, too! Highly recommend! Overall, it's a great new place in Waugh Chapel with some stellar food and beautiful beverages. Just don't plan on it being a quiet meal or an inexpensive one. But, well worth the experience! read more

As a non-meat eater, this review is a reflection of the service rendered and the food and drinks I ordered Here's the positive, the flight mimosa was reasonably priced at $12 and you get four options. Additionally, Mucho Gusto offers a wide variety of mimosa options. And, the freshly made guacamole is a nice portion size and shareable, Unfortunately, the wait staff lacked personality and it took more than 20 minutes before I received my drink {and it wasn't crowded}. But my brunch buddies enjoyed their food {not pictured}. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for some time. So we decided to just stop by. Upon arrival we had approximately a 10 minute wait for 2 which wasn't bad. Once seated, it was a little busy and felt like a fast casual restaurant. Reviewing the menu I realized it wasn't as authentic as I was expecting. We ordered the chips & salsa, the barría quesadilla with a side salad, blackened grouper tacos, the empanadas and the chicken burrito. Everything came out pretty fast and the flavors were just ok. Definitely not bad but again not what I was expecting. It may have been an off night, or maybe it was me. I'd definitely try them again and would recommend you give them a try too if you're looking to try somewhere new. read more

We visited Mucho Gusto in Gambrills, MD and overall had a really good experience with both the food and drinks. The ambience was nice--clean, modern, and relaxed--and it wasn't crowded at all for a weekday during their happy hour, which made the experience even better. We started with the Nachos, which come with tortilla chips, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and salsa ranchera, topped with Cotija cheese, avocado sauce, and crema. We added ground beef, and while the nachos were tasty, we definitely could have used more meat. There was plenty of everything else, but the ground beef portion was light compared to the rest of the toppings. We also tried the Birria Sliders--two sliders brushed with birria consommé, packed with Birria meat and melted Mexican cheeses, served with an extra side of consommé. These were delicious and full of flavor. The Boom Boom Shrimp was another standout: beer-battered shrimp tossed in MG Boom Boom sauce, served over Mexican slaw with pineapple pico, and topped with Thai chili aioli. You can also make it vegetarian, which is a great option. Both dishes were great! For drinks, we ordered The Ocho Gusto Margarita (Tequila Ocho Reposado, Grand Marnier floater, agave, mandarin & lime juice), which was strong and well-balanced, and a Strawberry Lemonade, which was refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. Overall, the food was flavorful and creatively put together. With a little more generosity on the nacho meat, the meal would have been perfect. We'd definitely return to try more of their menu! read more

We were excited to try a new place. However, this was a huge let down in many ways. Party of 2, arrived around 6:30 or so. The place was mostly empty. The font size on the menu is extremely small, even with 20/20 vision it was difficult to read. Bring your readers! Got seated quickly. Took roughly 10 mins for a server to arrive, they brought water. Asked if we'd been there, we said no. He basically read the table tent about how everything is prepared fresh to serve from drinks to food. Unlike other Mexican restaurants, no chips and salsa served, unless you purchased it for $5, and extra chips/salsa cost even more. One beer was $6 One high ball class basic marg was $15! The taquito app was $11. We assumed it would prob be 4-6 taquitos for the price, it was 3 chicken ones, luke warm in the center. Nothing mentioned on menu about it being 3 taquitos. So we each had 1 and a half. Odd number for an app/starter. Long wait till the Server eventually came back to take our dinner order. Server appeared to be bothered by our presence and/or to be working. We ordered: Fajita quesadilla $19 -it was good, but not worth the price to the size 3 mix/match tacos $16- mediocre to poor. No sides included with the tacos. Chicken taco, tasted like a mixed salad thrown onto a corn tortilla. Carnitas tacos were dry, cut cubed like, not pulled, not much flavor. Could only choose either flour or corn tortilla for all 3 tacos; couldn't mix and match tortillas for some reason. Do not recommend either chicken or carnitas. Server never returned to check on meal/food. Ambience was good. The establishment appears to be wanting to be more upscale, however the food and drinks is not matching the prices and quality of the items. Most importantly an 18% gratuity is added!! We were a party of 2 and the gratuity was added because it was "after 3 pm". We read about the gratuity in a previous review and looked for it to be posted. On the bottom of the menu it states 18% gratuity added to parties of 6 or more, $150 or more and all day Tuesdays. Nothing mentioned about after 3pm. We were told when our bill was handed to us. Not impressed! The prices are outrageous for what you get. Sides aren't even included in most of not all options. I won't return, better and less expensive Mexican food elsewhere. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is always attentive, nice, and quick. The food is also always top notch. I've been here before and have never had an experience like this, which made tonight especially disappointing. We sat at the bar and our bartender never made our drinks, so we eventually had to ask another bartender for service. My drink still didn't come, and I had to ask again while I was already eating. To make matters worse, I found a piece of blue rubber in my burrito that looked like it could have been part of a glove. I brought it to the manager's attention, but when the check came, nothing had been removed. It wasn't until I made eye contact with him that he came over and said he had taken the $10 drink off the bill. I understand things happen, but between the poor service and finding a foreign object in my food, I expected the situation to be handled with much more concern. Very disappointing, especially because my previous experiences here have been good. read more

I had been looking forward to coming here since they opened and I finally made it. The food was okay but our server, Noelia was great. She was friendly, enthusiastic and really knew the menu. There's no free chips and salsa here. Chips and salsa are a $5 menu item. It did take awhile for our drinks to be ready. Our meals were good. But the dessert I ordered to go was not "allowed" as a "to go" item which makes no sense to me because I could have just ordered it, taken a bite and then asked for a to go box. read more

I met up with my BFF for a little dinner and A LOT of laughs! Mucho Gusto aesthetics are EVERYTHING! Cute lounge area that you apparently must book to be seated in that space, cute and vibrant bar scene and a welcoming environment! Much Gusto is located behind the Dick's Sporting Goods in Gambrills and has plenty of parking. We were seated at one of the high table tops near the bar. We ordered the guacamole for an appetizer, a few drinks and entrees. The guacamole is probably the best I've had in a long time. Seasoned perfectly! They even had homemade chips for dipping! I had the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce as an entree and they were absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Razzle Dazzle as a bevie and it did not disappoint! We had to give the desserts a try, so I ordered the churro ice cream sundae. Excellent choice on my part because it was a 10 out of 10! The only complaint I have is the noise volume. With the restaurant being a big open room, the acoustics are extremely loud. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time here. I think that's actually an understatement, since we were seated at 5:30 and didn't leave until 9:30! If you're ever in the mood for some awesome drinks and delicious Mexican food, I'd give Mucho Gusto a try! You can thank me later. PS arrive early because they fill up quick! read more

We finally tried this restaurant. It is a nice open restaurant good to meet for happy hour. We got enchiladas which came with rice and beans. The dish was really good. Boom Boom shrimp which came on a bed of red cabbage. This dish was plentiful and flavorful. Nachos with ground beef was a good portion but lacked flavor. Chips and salsa which you have to purchase. The chips were made in house, they were thick and crispy, the salsa lacked flavor. The service was adequate. Overall it is missing the authentic mexican flavor. read more

Another comment about Mucho Gusto was "One and Done" and the same goes for our experience. The first thing you should know is this place is VERY LOUD, so much so that it is impossible to have a normal conversation at your table. The service was mediocre and I should have known that when I had to tell the server I wanted a Patron Margarita 5 times before he managed to log it in to his little hand held computer. It was at least 10 minutes before our drinks arrived and then he brought me the wrong drink! He barely checked on us and didn't even seem to be out on the floor that much. The food was just ok. We ordered queso but it was a very small, thin portion and not very tasty, I make better at home-I love queso-and while the chips were hot and house made, some were very greasy and they cracked apart very easily. I ordered fajitas, maybe 4 ounces of meat, if that, and a lot of peppers and onions, very little cheese. You got 4 tortillas but there wasn't enough meat and cheese to make 4. Companion had a burrito but it was overly salty. Over all, it was expensive for the amount and quality of the food and the ambience was like an upscale high school cafeteria. We won't be back. read more

Went for a quick date night bite with my husband. We stopped in around a little before 6 on a Saturday night and were told there was a 30 minute wait. Our table was ready in about 15 minutes. The guacamole was the BEST I've ever had. The chips were hot and fresh and not loaded with a lot of salt, which I loved. Our server, Javier was phenomenal! He was polite, attentive and hospitable. I had the crab enchiladas which were filled with lump crab meat and dressed in a slightly spicy sauce, such was delicious. My husband had the mahi blackened tacos with a side of black beans and rice. We enjoyed our food. It was hot and fresh. I had the Gusto margarita cocktail; it was tasty and strong. We will definitely recommend this place. The only thing we did not care for was the seating. There isn't really a dignified waiting area. Upon being seated, we were east behind a couple waiting for their food which was separated by a long rectangular-shaped planter with a cactus and two other plants. There isn't really much privacy in that but we made the best out of it. Overall, we'd return and probably sit at the bar. read more

Took my parents & aunt here over the weekend, it was their first time and Afterwards they raved about it. Mucho Gusto service, ambiance, quality and portion of the food will never disappoint. I tried one of their mocktails on this visit. It was called a wannabe. The watermelon puree in the drink was not artificial. It was fresh & tasty. For an appetizer, I ordered guacamole for the table. We all agreed this was the best guacamole we ever had!! All the flavors shined bright! My aunt and I don't even like guacamole. We both throughly enjoyed it and had 3 or 4 scoops of it. I'm actually craving more right now. I also ordered some Elote to start. Mucho Gusto has a really good one. I love me some Elote. For my entree, I ordered Crab Enchiladas with Mexican rice. It was very good& the crab meat was plentiful. We were all stuffed in the end but couldn't leave without dessert. We split an order of churros. Could have been a tad softer but still tasty. Naya was an amazing server. I love the team work from the staff making sure everything ran smooth and food was delivered timely. Mucho Gusto is a nice spot! Just a heads up they currently seat first come, unless your party is over a certain number. The decor is super cute and modern, and I loved how spacious it felt with a good amount of room between tables. Our server was really sweet and new, and she let us know everything is made in-house including the juices! We started with the queso fundido with ground beef, it was okay but lacked flavor for me. I got the birria quesadilla and it was delicious! super juicy, and I drank all of my consomé! My husband had the crab enchiladas. They were a little dry inside, but the sauce helped a lot. This restaurant opened its Gambrills location Summer 2024, and it's definitely a vibe! We stopped by to celebrate National Margarita Day 2025. It was packed as seating times were a 45 -55 min wait. We grabbed a seat at the bar to take it all in. The male bartenders One of the best parts? The margarita experience! We got to pick our flavor, our tequila, and even our rim, making each drink perfectly customized. For food, we started with empanadas--crispy, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. I also ordered the guacamole, which was prepared tableside. Major plus that you can add crab or shrimp! Plus, they customize the spice level to your preference, which made me a fan! Rumor has this place is "IT", Delicious food, Great atmosphere, Awesome Specials AND Live Music on Thursdays.... Well some rumors are just that..Rumors. So here is the skinny... The place looks bigger from the outside, and that's just a thought. The restaurant looks nice, the service was decent and professional. Now...if you are into Mexican food the fact is there is no good Mexican food in Crofton, Gambrills or Bowie. The food her is barely average. Now if you were raised on bland food that looks pretty and lacks taste, this is the place for you. The queso, was below average in taste and the portion was small, it was small and bland enough for a baby that just started eating solid foods. The chimichanga which I added chicken to was me basically eating fried bread and rice, I counted 8 pieces of chicken...okay nine but it was as large as a pea. I can't judge the music because I wasn't there on a music night. But I can tell you this: The wait time to get seated...slow, and there were only two groups sitting down...what's the hold up?!?! The waitress was nice enough but that without good food ruined the experience. Also the food is over priced for what they offer. Oh one above average thing..the drinks were a B- or C+. Depends. Would I recommend this? Hmm, NO. I need Mucho Gusto to do better, por favor. read more

We tried this place for my sisters birthday dinner. Her man invited us out and we met there. Service was slow at the bar. Our waitress did say a bartender was in training but that doesn't excuse our drinks coming out at different times. And my mans margarita didn't show up until after our entree was served. And his drink was served after someone asked if we needed anything and we explained that we were waiting for the last drink of the table. He did apologize for the delay. Cute place but a little small and snug. Too many tables but I get it. Our apps were bacon wrapped jalapeños stuffed with ground beef and cream cheese, elotes and taquitos. The guacamole said market price so for me when it says that then I'm most likely not willing to pay the price. So I didn't even ask. The faves were the jalapeños and elotes. Our entrees were carne asada, chicken fajitas, steak fajitas and shrimp with steak fajitas. My sister said her skirt steak was great, tender. Our fajitas were just ok. The flavor was not there. Maybe they don't want to over season and risk the food coming back to the kitchen. But for me if I'm eating Mexican food I want all of the flavors. I do like that they have small plates if you don't have a big appetite or just need a snack to go along with your cocktail. Oh the drinks - meh. Under delivered and overpriced. While there, we watched 2 people get the sparkly, flared happy birthday treat and a song sung to them. When it was my sisters turn the waitress informed us that they were out. Ok. So her man ordered her dessert. But when she brought it out no happy birthday, nothing special for her. And he did make reservations prior. Was the dessert at least comped? Of course not. But go, try them out. Maybe your experience will be better than ours. read more
