The food is pretty good, Well from what I've had thus far. The service was great and I think they have a nice ambiance for dining in.
Great ambiance, great food, great service! I was slightly apprehensive given the mixed reviews, but my experience last night was great. Fair warning, try to get your name on the waitlist if you're going for a popular time (dinner) as the wait was about 25 mins though that wasn't a problem for us I know some like to get in and get seated and this place is fairly popular based on the crowd. The decor is extremely beautiful, and I was surpassed at the layout as I expected it to be super cramped, but there's more than enough space between tables and parties which is nice. Our server, Kylie, was amazing! Her recommendations were top tier and she checked in on us frequently to ensure we were well taken care of. We ordered spicy guacamole, amazing! Usually guacamole is kinda flavorless but having the spicy element really made it taste amazing--and they didn't skimp out on the serving size you get a HUGE bowl! We also ordered the queso fundido, this wasn't as good and I probably wouldn't order again as it was pretty tasteless. As my entree I ordered the Mucho Gusto fajita (includes shrimp, steak and chicken), the dish came STEAMIN hot which I really appreciated. I will say though the fajita mix itself was amazing the Mexican rice and refried beans were cold and didn't taste good at all so I didn't end of eating those. However, the fajita mix itself was great and I had a lot of leftovers! For drinks we ordered the Blueberry Pina Margarita, very good! They were not shy with the patron either, so that was a plus. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely be back to try their other menu items!
I wish I'd known when they'd opened, so I could have tried them sooner! We visited in December 2025 and, despite how long they've been here, they were jam-packed! There wasn't a long wait, though, which was nice, maybe 10 minutes ultimately. I have two complaints. One, the noise. MAN is it LOUD in here! Even the server apologized for it when she greeted us. I'm guessing that means they field a lot of complaints about it. But, it was the holiday season and everyone was having a good time, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Two, prices. It's not exorbitantly expensive, but for a cuisine that's known for being a bit more budget-friendly, it was a little more than you'd expect to spend. This applies to both the drinks and the food. I will say, though, that you absolutely get what you pay for! The portions are pretty generous and the quality is exceptional! We started with the chips, which were not included for free, but they are well worth the 5 bucks! The chips themselves are thick and well-seasoned. The salsa was fresh and tasted fantastic! I had the birria quesadilla as my entrée. Despite the fact that it came with nothing on the said (except the consommé of course), it was plenty of food for me. If you generally run hungrier (I've been eating less lately), then you might want a side. But, I didn't need one. The drinks are great! I had the Bourbon Slap, and I would get that again 10/10! I also had the Flor de Jamaica (apologies on spelling), and it was quite good! Per the server, they make most everything in house, including this beverage. You can tell, too! Highly recommend! Overall, it's a great new place in Waugh Chapel with some stellar food and beautiful beverages. Just don't plan on it being a quiet meal or an inexpensive one. But, well worth the experience!
As a non-meat eater, this review is a reflection of the service rendered and the food and drinks I ordered Here's the positive, the flight mimosa was reasonably priced at $12 and you get four options. Additionally, Mucho Gusto offers a wide variety of mimosa options. And, the freshly made guacamole is a nice portion size and shareable, Unfortunately, the wait staff lacked personality and it took more than 20 minutes before I received my drink {and it wasn't crowded}. But my brunch buddies enjoyed their food {not pictured}.
I've been wanting to try this place for some time. So we decided to just stop by. Upon arrival we had approximately a 10 minute wait for 2 which wasn't bad. Once seated, it was a little busy and felt like a fast casual restaurant. Reviewing the menu I realized it wasn't as authentic as I was expecting. We ordered the chips & salsa, the barría quesadilla with a side salad, blackened grouper tacos, the empanadas and the chicken burrito. Everything came out pretty fast and the flavors were just ok. Definitely not bad but again not what I was expecting. It may have been an off night, or maybe it was me. I'd definitely try them again and would recommend you give them a try too if you're looking to try somewhere new.
We arrived at approximately 8:45 and were seated promptly. I ordered the blood orange margarita, which was delicious. The chips and salsa were good, but fried just a little too hard. I ordered the shrimp, chicken and steak fajitas. Everything was really good. Service was great and the environment was comfortable. I would definitely return.
We visited Mucho Gusto in Gambrills, MD and overall had a really good experience with both the food and drinks. The ambience was nice--clean, modern, and relaxed--and it wasn't crowded at all for a weekday during their happy hour, which made the experience even better. We started with the Nachos, which come with tortilla chips, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and salsa ranchera, topped with Cotija cheese, avocado sauce, and crema. We added ground beef, and while the nachos were tasty, we definitely could have used more meat. There was plenty of everything else, but the ground beef portion was light compared to the rest of the toppings. We also tried the Birria Sliders--two sliders brushed with birria consommé, packed with Birria meat and melted Mexican cheeses, served with an extra side of consommé. These were delicious and full of flavor. The Boom Boom Shrimp was another standout: beer-battered shrimp tossed in MG Boom Boom sauce, served over Mexican slaw with pineapple pico, and topped with Thai chili aioli. You can also make it vegetarian, which is a great option. Both dishes were great! For drinks, we ordered The Ocho Gusto Margarita (Tequila Ocho Reposado, Grand Marnier floater, agave, mandarin & lime juice), which was strong and well-balanced, and a Strawberry Lemonade, which was refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. Overall, the food was flavorful and creatively put together. With a little more generosity on the nacho meat, the meal would have been perfect. We'd definitely return to try more of their menu!
Taco Tuesday! Everything was delicious! Served hot and fresh. Plus Alfredo, he will take good care of you. His service and drinks are on point!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is always attentive, nice, and quick. The food is also always top notch. I tried the chilaquiles with half the plate with red sauce and the other half green sauce. I enjoyed both saucees. Chips were fresh and absorbed just the right amount of sauce. The vibe is always great, open feeling, not overly loud even when busy.
I had been looking forward to coming here since they opened and I finally made it. The food was okay but our server, Noelia was great. She was friendly, enthusiastic and really knew the menu. There's no free chips and salsa here. Chips and salsa are a $5 menu item. It did take awhile for our drinks to be ready. Our meals were good. But the dessert I ordered to go was not "allowed" as a "to go" item which makes no sense to me because I could have just ordered it, taken a bite and then asked for a to go box.
I met up with my BFF for a little dinner and A LOT of laughs! Mucho Gusto aesthetics are EVERYTHING! Cute lounge area that you apparently must book to be seated in that space, cute and vibrant bar scene and a welcoming environment! Much Gusto is located behind the Dick's Sporting Goods in Gambrills and has plenty of parking. We were seated at one of the high table tops near the bar. We ordered the guacamole for an appetizer, a few drinks and entrees. The guacamole is probably the best I've had in a long time. Seasoned perfectly! They even had homemade chips for dipping! I had the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce as an entree and they were absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Razzle Dazzle as a bevie and it did not disappoint! We had to give the desserts a try, so I ordered the churro ice cream sundae. Excellent choice on my part because it was a 10 out of 10! The only complaint I have is the noise volume. With the restaurant being a big open room, the acoustics are extremely loud. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time here. I think that's actually an understatement, since we were seated at 5:30 and didn't leave until 9:30! If you're ever in the mood for some awesome drinks and delicious Mexican food, I'd give Mucho Gusto a try! You can thank me later. PS arrive early because they fill up quick!
We were excited to try a new place. However, this was a huge let down in many ways. Party of 2, arrived around 6:30 or so. The place was mostly empty. The font size on the menu is extremely small, even with 20/20 vision it was difficult to read. Bring your readers! Got seated quickly. Took roughly 10 mins for a server to arrive, they brought water. Asked if we'd been there, we said no. He basically read the table tent about how everything is prepared fresh to serve from drinks to food. Unlike other Mexican restaurants, no chips and salsa served, unless you purchased it for $5, and extra chips/salsa cost even more. One beer was $6 One high ball class basic marg was $15! The taquito app was $11. We assumed it would prob be 4-6 taquitos for the price, it was 3 chicken ones, luke warm in the center. Nothing mentioned on menu about it being 3 taquitos. So we each had 1 and a half. Odd number for an app/starter. Long wait till the Server eventually came back to take our dinner order. Server appeared to be bothered by our presence and/or to be working. We ordered: Fajita quesadilla $19 -it was good, but not worth the price to the size 3 mix/match tacos $16- mediocre to poor. No sides included with the tacos. Chicken taco, tasted like a mixed salad thrown onto a corn tortilla. Carnitas tacos were dry, cut cubed like, not pulled, not much flavor. Could only choose either flour or corn tortilla for all 3 tacos; couldn't mix and match tortillas for some reason. Do not recommend either chicken or carnitas. Server never returned to check on meal/food. Ambience was good. The establishment appears to be wanting to be more upscale, however the food and drinks is not matching the prices and quality of the items. Most importantly an 18% gratuity is added!! We were a party of 2 and the gratuity was added because it was "after 3 pm". We read about the gratuity in a previous review and looked for it to be posted. On the bottom of the menu it states 18% gratuity added to parties of 6 or more, $150 or more and all day Tuesdays. Nothing mentioned about after 3pm. We were told when our bill was handed to us. Not impressed! The prices are outrageous for what you get. Sides aren't even included in most of not all options. I won't return, better and less expensive Mexican food elsewhere.
Went for a quick date night bite with my husband. We stopped in around a little before 6 on a Saturday night and were told there was a 30 minute wait. Our table was ready in about 15 minutes. The guacamole was the BEST I've ever had. The chips were hot and fresh and not loaded with a lot of salt, which I loved. Our server, Javier was phenomenal! He was polite, attentive and hospitable. I had the crab enchiladas which were filled with lump crab meat and dressed in a slightly spicy sauce, such was delicious. My husband had the mahi blackened tacos with a side of black beans and rice. We enjoyed our food. It was hot and fresh. I had the Gusto margarita cocktail; it was tasty and strong. We will definitely recommend this place. The only thing we did not care for was the seating. There isn't really a dignified waiting area. Upon being seated, we were east behind a couple waiting for their food which was separated by a long rectangular-shaped planter with a cactus and two other plants. There isn't really much privacy in that but we made the best out of it. Overall, we'd return and probably sit at the bar.

I've been to Mucho Gusto Gambrills location a few times, and I've loved my experience every time. Crazy that this is my first Yelp review on it, but I've yet to have a bad experience here! This new Winter Menu featured a couple of new food and drink items to try, yet the only thing new for me was the Mexican Meatball Soup. The flavors mesh so well together and it's not salty at all. All the ingredients taste so fresh and well balanced! The Coquito drink is a favorite every winter time. The service was pretty quick as always, and I always sit at the bar for great hospitality and a pretty ambiance. It's such a gorgeous view and the colors along with the tequila wall draws you in! 10/10 will always be a returning customer. read more
I tried this spot, this past weekend randomly. Mainly because I was hungry and couldn't decide what I actually wanted to eat. Just FYI, it's hidden in the back of the "Waugh Chapel Shopping Center". The ambiance was cute and there is a guacamole station right in the corner. The place was jumping and we didn't even have to wait long to be seated which was a plus. We saw so many people with the burrito so we decided to give them a try along with the Birria Sliders and Guacamole. The sliders were meh, they lacked flavor. The meat needed to be marinated a little bit longer. The burrito was huge and tasty, I'm so glad I got It with the beans on the side though. And if you are a sour cream lover, you might as well ask for more when placing your order. Now the guacamole was my favorite item and It seemed like everyone else's as well. I like the fact that you can get It to whatever heat level you prefer (mild/medium/spicy). We got mild, but I'll come back and give the spicy a try. However the chips that were served with It, was overcooked and hard. Since it's actual tortillas, they have to find the right time to get the perfect chip. Our server was great, however I didn't like the fact that our food came before the guacamole. I wanted to try that first before actually eating my meal, but other than that, everything was cool. read more

This was a good spot for a large group. The guacamole and queso were truly stellar, and the guava mezcalita was superb, if a bit pricey. The rest of the food was very good, if a bit standard, and the fajitas tasted even better the next day. Our waitress was friendly and very responsive, even for a busy Saturday night. It gets very loud - the space is basically a concrete box and sound carries. It was not possible to speak with anyone not directly beside you. There is also an entire wall of windows that faces the setting sun, so half the table had to wear sunglasses for about a half hour. read more
I came across this while specifically searching for birria tacos nearby. Thank you, yelp for leading us here. So good. As someone mentioned, it's a little loud but that's to be expected with a big, open room for everything. At least, with wooden chairs instead of metal, the noise on the concrete floor wasn't horrible. We were seated right away and water and menus followed quickly. Ashley was so pleasant and nice, with a genuine smile and warm demeanor. She brought our drinks quickly and we received our food within probably 5 minutes of ordering. DD liked her mojo loco (I think) which is a non-alcoholic, "refresher". My margarita was fine - I know some complained about cocktails being weak but I felt mine was just right. different bartender, maybe. DGD didn't like the horchata at all, and when I tasted it I had to agree. Something about it was sort of chalky. It was as if some part of it was made with powdered mix and not blended well. Weird. We got an order of guacamole and I watched it being prepared fresh, as the station for making it was right behind DD. They use all fresh ingredients and hand grind it in a (very) heavy molcajete with matching tejolote (here's your Spanish lesson for the day, lol: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molcajete). Then they bring the molcajete to the table with a large, wooden spoon to dip it out onto your appy plate. Delicious! Their house made tortilla chips were so good, too. DD also got the patatas bravo and those were quite yummy. Some might not care for them because there was a lot of oil in the dish. So for mains, I chose 3 carnitas tacos in corn tortillas; DD got crab enchiladas which came with rice; DGD got her birria tacos. We all shared bites and everything was perfectly spiced and hot from the kitchen. My carnitas were truly awesome; I like them prepared traditionally, so they are both soft and tender, but with crispy edges. DD got her enchiladas with an Old Bay sauce, which isn't my favorite flavor (in fact, I avoid Old Bay if possible) but there were good sized chunks of crab. DGD's birria was excellent and not too spicy for her; I could have enjoyed a touch more heat but she was happy. I forgot the mention, but my tacos came with a little cup of salsa verde and it was on the very edge of too spicy for me. Still yum. DGD prevailed and was able to get the churro sundae and DD read out that it "sparkles" so here's a spoiler alert: Ashley brought it and lit an actual sparkler cancle that was on top! So if you want to surprise someone, don't let them read the menu or my review, lol. I didn't try to ice cream but the churros were in bite sized pieces and I did eat two of those. Very tasty, lots of cinnamon goodness. Parking is ample and free. DD paid, so I don't know for sure but I'm guessing it had to be at least $100 for the three of us. Here's a tip about an additional tip: the molcajete station had its own tip jar so we tossed a $5 into it. You may want to do this, too. read more

I enjoyed mucho gusto! Our waiter was nice. The food was good however it could have been much better if the food came out hot! The empanadas and quesadilla were Luke warm at best. I wished I could throw them in the microwave. They have plenty of seating and it was busy at all. I went on Saturday morning around noon ish. I plan on giving them another try during the evening hours but please make sure the food comes out hot. read more

Newer spot in the back of the Crofton town center. I heard good things so i decided to try them for lunch. Bare with me with this revi First, it took awhile for our waiter to greet us and take our drink orders. However once she did, it was smooth sailing after that. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, it comes with rice and refried beans. My son order a kids chicken quesadilla which also comes with rice and beans (or fries or tater tots) and my friend got the beef nachos. Food was decent Chips and salsa is NOT free, it does cost a small amount (less than $10). I don't think it was worth it but i wanted to try it Parking is shared with other businesses so it can be difficult depending on the time of day Inside doesn't look like a "typical" Mexican restaurant. No booth seating Ultimately I probably won't return due to other restaurants being better read more

Amazing food! Perfect Service! Welcoming and comfortable ambiance! I've been to so many Mexican and Tex-mex places around the DC Metro area but this one is the best by far. The nachos were amazing; get the ground beef). The Birria quesadilla was recommended over the tacos and I loved it. Even the Arnold Palmer was perfect. Get it unsweetened! Can't wait to go back and try even more amazing things. I just wish this restaurant was closer to me in Virginia. read more

Another amazing (WED) date night at one of our favorite spots! The bar service is consistently outstanding, and Laila, our bartender, truly outdid herself--she's the best! The food, as always, was absolutely on point. This place never disappoints! read more

Situated in Waugh Chapel, this Mexican spot is a very good spot for a quick bite and drinks. Our server Laila (apologies if I spelled it wrong) was also one of the bartenders and was absolutely great. We ordered the gusto margarita with a Tajin rim and the bourbon slap. Both drinks were amazing! We started telling folks around us about the bourbon slap and they started ordering them too. It's a really good drink. The chips, salsa and spicy guacamole were all delicious. The shrimp tacos were really good. The chicken and shrimp fajitas were also flavorful. I do wish you got more food for the price of the fajitas but it wouldn't stop me from ordering them again. We did have one small hiccup in that the enchiladas we ordered came out cold twice. The manager apologized and took them off of the bill. I recommend you check this place out. read more

Busy, but quick service on a Saturday night. Nice atmosphere. We found 2 seats at the bar open around 8:15. Our bartender was great! The Mexican whiskey drink received rave reviews. I got the white sangria and it was light, sweet, fresh, and yummy. Our entries (ahi tuna tacos and carne asada tacos) were pretty good. Carne asada would've been better if the meat had more marinade time. The fresh guacamole and chips didn't stand a chance! Quite possibly the best I've EVER had! We got medium spice and it was just perfect! For dessert, we had the churros and they were a yummy end to the meal. We'll be back. Nice bar and restaurant to have close in the area. Great for date night! read more

Wow, I absolutely love this place. The host and the waitress was extremely friendly and offered great options for the menu. I love the personalized guacamole stand set off in the corner. The guac and chips were so fresh and I enjoyed the salsa so much I was full before my food even came, they offer a lot of different varieties and margaritas and the Mexican food is classic and tasty. The restaurant is an open concept with a modern twist. The only complaint I had was as the sunset the light shined in our eyes and we had to keep moving our seats. But can't wait to come back and try this place again. read more
It is very cute and modern in here! We went on a Friday evening once the hype of the new restaurant died down a bit. I had a house watermelon margarita, the thing I loved is that every mixer was fresh made and you could really tell the difference. I ended up having two and they don't skimp on the tequila either. Now on to the food: I had the shrimp burrito fresco and at every morsel off my plate. The portion was a good size for a $20 burrito. He had the shrimp chimichanga, no complaints from him either. We sat at the bar, the chairs weren't that comfortable, but overall went with the decor. Customer service was ok, even sitting at the bar once we ordered our drinks we had to flag someone down to take our food order, but overall everyone was very pleasant. Will definitely visit again. read more
This place has been open for only a month and they have a repeat customer for sure I couldn't have asked for a better taco Tuesday experience. The place had a very large dining area and a huge bar with plenty of seating . The bartenders were great. The service and the food was unmatched. The chef taco , by far my favorite. read more
My first time at this new spot. I sat at the bar with my friends and Leila as well as other bartenders were super attentive and upbeat. The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing. Honestly I had cut back on drinking margaritas because of acid reflux but I had two margaritas today and no issues, I suspect it has to do with the quality and fresh ingredients and that they make everything in house. Also, one of the other bartenders told us they have tequila flights, it's a whole other menu that we didn't get till the end. However, we decided to do one. The luminescent dreams flight was awesome, well except for the casamigos they had as part of it. Guac was delicious. Honestly, I was impressed and I will be back. There is plenty of parking and it's family friendly. read more

I visited Mucho Gusto today for their soft opening for lunch. I've anxiously been awaiting this spot and it does not disappoint! I was immediately greeted and decided to sit in the bar area as I was a party of 1. I'm really glad I chose the bar area where I was able to interact with both bartenders especially Layla who was great! I was able to ask a lot of questions about the menu items and drinks. I also found out about their happy hour, which is offered Monday through Friday. I'm excited to come back again soon and try all of the great menu items as well as unique cocktail offerings. I decided to take advantage of one of the $12 lunch combos which are an awesome value. I chose the enchilada / taco combo with green sauce. The green sauce was phenomenal! It has an acidic flavor which I enjoyed so much- I would buy this sauce to go if it was offered! The portions were generous and a perfect lunch size. No complimentary chips and salsa were offered, however I'm not sure if they do that here as I didn't ask. The taco was great with fresh toppings, perfect for the hot weather as the meal was not heavy. The restaurant is beautiful with lots of fun things to look at. There is a cool lounge area you can sit in with a really cool neon photo op spot and comfier chairs to sit in. It would be fun for a group of friends to hang out. I can't wait for my next visit, which I'm sure will be very soon as I saw a lot of items I'm excited to try! :) read more
