Visited restaurant on Saturday evening nice crowd. Clean atmosphere well light and spacious. Waitresses were quick knowledgeable and polite. Engaging with menu specials and food options. The food was hot, seasoned, and enough for two people. Highly recommend this restaurant make sure to order the frozen margarita the have several different flavors.

Delisheoso this place is. Hot, flavorful food served fast. Drinks and Sangria are excellent as well. A great place to visit.

Really good mexican food with LARGE portions. Free salsa and a queso dip with chips are complementary. The staff is really nice and the inside is decorated with hand painted mexican imagery. Leftovers were even better the next day

I came here with some friends for dinner and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It wasn't crowded during our visit. Everyone on the staff was very friendly. The food was ok. It wasn't really anything to rave about, but I see why this is a local staple for many. The prices and portions are a good value. We enjoyed their margarita offerings. None of us were fans of the creamy salsa/white sauce that comes with the chips - it tasted sour and the seasoning didn't mesh well. When we asked for a regular salsa as a replacement, our server was kind about it and said that she knows that many people don't like it. The wings were good. I felt like my food (Yolanda's special) was a little bland. The seafood burrito was huge and my friend enjoyed it. The nachos were enjoyed too. I would come back if I was in the area.

stopped by this spot on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We ordered a lime pitcher on the rocks and some fresh guacamole for the table--both were solid choices. The quesadillas and street tacos had an authentic flavor that's often missing in local Mexican-style restaurants, which tend to be more Americanized. This place truly delivered. I'd definitely recommend it. It's conveniently located just down the road from the shopping center. If you're looking to enjoy quality food without the hassle of large crowds, this is the place to go. Plenty of parking was available, and there was no wait time.

La Tolteca is a good option for Mexican in the Crofton, MD area. They offer your traditional Mexican fare and some American-influenced dishes for those who don't yet appreciate authentic Mexican flavors. I've only purchased tacos here. Served on corn tortillas, the tacos are good. However, I wasn't a fan of the al pastor tacos; the pineapple was too prominent, sweet, and the meat was so runny it was borderline messy. The carne asada was delicious. There is an efficient takeout ordering operation which is separate from the dining room. There is also ample seating in the dining room and adequate parking as this place is a stand-alone brick and mortar with its own parking lot. Overall a good experience.

La Tolteca was 10/10 for us! The chips and salsa were delicious. Chips were warm, and salsa was flavourful. We got the chicken fajitas and the Carne asada special. Both were well seasoned. For drinks we got Cadillac margaritas and they were strong and made perfectly. Service was quick and staff was friendly. They had Mexican music playing, which set the mood. Plenty of parking around the building which is always a plus!

No matter how much I try out Mexican food in the NCR, it just disappoints. Living in San Antonio, I'm terribly biased about Mexi-food. The service here was great, our waiter checked on us regularly and was friend. When we asked for salsa, we got more salsa. When we asked for a box, they got us a box... honestly, you get a lot of food here... portion sizes are generous. The ambiance is like any other Mexican place that overdoes the taco. What I mean is pinatas hanging from the ceiling, lots of festive colors, and thematic benches and table tops. The staff will place the standard chips and salsa on the table. The salsa is fresh and chunky. My carne asada especial plate came with to pieces of steak, avocado salad, spanish rice, and refried beans. What did the plate under was what tasted like store bought tortillas. Unimpressive, would I try the same plate again... probably not. Would I try something else? Hmmm. The Modelo Negra was cold and the steak wasn't overdone. Remember the NCR is lacking in Mexican food flavors... the Toltec is about par for the area.

I feel like they have a lot of potential. We were able to make it in a few minutes before happy hour was over with and took advantage of their house Margarita and crunchy tacos. When I saw the sign outside that authentic Mexican I got so excited. When you walk in you're greeted by so many different Mexican decorations it takes you back. The next time I come back perhaps I'll try their actual street tacos and get a sense of the authenticity because the crunchy tacos with cheese and lettuce just didn't do it for me. That Margarita was definitely strong and I love the fact that to him they used was different. I feel like it had flaky salt and I'm unsure if they make it in house themselves. I wish I could have snatched some up for my purse to use for my next Margarita version. They did have a lot of TV so it would be good place to watch games or any sporting event.

Quick service and food was well seasoned, good portion, and very reasonable. Great midweek date night.

Have to turn down the lights for a little more intimate feel. Harsh lighting for a place that is well decorated.

Good food, reminds me of tex-mex. Food has been hot and fresh every time. It's a little out of the way, but worth the trip.

Authentic Mexican food, delicious and full of flavor!! One thing that really irks me, is Mexican food, with no flavor!!! LIKE HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE... Anyhoo this place, hidden in a shopping center... I would've never thought to check this place out, but thanks to good ol Yelp & this baddie foodie I've come to know......Here we go!! The chips were served warm with delicious tomato salsa. The guacamole was served fresh and very tasty!! My shrimp enchiladas were yummy! Rice and beans were seasoned perfectly...my company opt for a little bit of everything...chicken tacos, a chicken quesadilla and chicken enchilada. This combo option came with rice and she added a side of beans. And how can I forget the best part! Margaritas. I decided to keep it simple...regular margarita on the rocks with a sugar rim. All in all, 10/10 experience for me...I would definitely come back here to try some other things... It was a slow Wednesday evening. Our server was attentive and helpful... The restaurant was clean... Thanks Nessa for putting me on!!! Where we going next!!!! ;))) Happy Yelping!

Chicken Enchilada - I had to get one to taste, the honey liked it more than his fajitas. Fajitas - You can't really mess this up. Margaritas - SOOOOO GOOD! We should have gotten the small ones. You will risk your life for these Tacos. EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME. Lol…read more $2.50 or 3 with cilantro and onions/ each Large portions and you only really need 3 or 4 tacos to filler up. 5 if you are starving and you didnt eat breakfast like me and your eyes are bigger than your belly. Hehehe I love the al pastor which is a pineapple and pork mixture, carne asada grilled steak, chorizo spicy sausage and sometimes barbacoa which is more a pot roast. I avoid carnitas and barbacoa because they are wetter and the juices make everything soggy so by the time you get home, youre gonna need a fork. What can ya do? Ive told so many people about this taco truck but it has alluded many. Whats the problem you say? Location location location. This food truck is located on a dirt patch between Wendy's and the 7-11on rt3 in Crofton. You cannot access it from 3 south but you can SEE it from rt3 south. This is important cause if you cant see it, no use of you risking your life. Wait till the next day and try again. You have to go up to the light and bust a U turn (least risky), turn by Royal Farms (moderately risky depending on the time of day) or my personal fave : turn by the Wendy's and clutch your pearls and butt cheeks together trying to merge into traffic quickly but not so fast that you miss the turn and have to turn into 7-11 and try again. You'd think when they built the new potbelly you could access their parking lot and walk to the food truck, but on closer inspection, theres a black fence there that you cannot clumb over, under or around. Ask me how i know lol. ALSO this taco truck is normally there in the afternoon til 6, except when they dont, and you can see them packing it up around 5pm.
