My wife and I wanted to find a new breakfast spot and based on the favorable reviews we tried it out. The place was somewhat busy, so we thought we should try breakfast. We ordered the special drink a "chai fog" and a brioche breakfast sandwich. Around $45 with tip. The drinks and food were delivered with a friendly attitude and the outside seating was pleasant. So ambience and service are both good at this point. Where the stars dropped off was the drink quality and food portions. The drink tasted like nothing. Well, more accurately like hot, watered down milk. The sandwich was small. Tasty, but so small that we were still hungry and went to get a coffee and pastry at another local coffee place down the street. The female employee did not seem to have any intention of apologizing from the beginning, and when asked to be more careful next time, instead of saying sorry, she said "I know," and left. Manager - The manager did not want to listen to the story from the beginning. At least a manager should listen to the customer's voice and try to resolve the situation, but when I tried to talk about the female employee, he didn't want to listen to me and left the scene during conversation. It's a shame that you give the role of manager and have him handle your store to someone who doesn't know how to solve even basic problems. Perhaps he will be anxious to avoid this type of problem if it arises again. From the beginning I said I didn't want a refund. I respect your business. Charge me back again if you need. This is a brand-new coffee shop in South Redondo, on the corner of PCH & Ave D, and it's just what the neighborhood needed! Because sometimes you just don't want to deal with the village and La Terraza fits the bill. It's located in a renovated store front and they did such a great job of creating a modern space while keeping with the vibe of the area. It's clean and open without that cold sterile felling you get from some coffee shops. There are plenty of seating options inside; a bar counter, tables & a comfy conversation area in the front. Plus, some welcome outdoor seating on a front patio. I was there yesterday for the first day and you wouldn't know it, the service was great and everything seemed to be running smoothly! They were busy and when the owner noticed we were waiting for our order he gave us free Pellegrino's! We spoke to him briefly and he is engaged and seems really excited to bring a unique coffee experience to the area. Of course, the big question is how was the coffee? Well it was great! We both had Cappuccinos, one with oat milk, that tasted so yummy, you could really taste the quality of the beans. They also have a nice menu of breakfast and lunch items. We didn't have any this time but I saw it coming out everything looked fantastic and the happy faces of the people eating confirmed it! They used almond breeze milk instead of barista milk and it really made a difference. If they had the barista milk the latte would've been bomb! Because it had everything going for it except the creamy taste of the drink. The barista was super friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. So bonus points for friendly service! Their food is AMAZING. I love love love their avocado toast and challah french toast. I swear I find myself daydreaming about their avocado toast. It's just incredibly fresh tasting. The dressing they use on their side salads is my favorite. Coffee wise--it's not my favorite, but I think I just haven't found the right drink yet. I like stronger coffee, and whenever I get their lattes, they taste a bit too milky/sugary for my personal taste. But again, I'm still making my way through their drink menu to see if I can find a drink that I do like. I'm sure I'll find it! The baristas are awesome--always helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a great spot enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend, look no further! They have an exceptional amount of seating on their patio just down the street from the ocean! Highly recommend taking a walk to see the beautiful views after enjoying a quick bite to eat. The black coffee and cold brew were delicious and you can tell they use quality beans. However, they were a little on the bitter side so maybe ask for some creamer depending on your preferences. Next time I want to try the lavender latte! Plenty of street parking. This was the worst experience and on Mother's Day to boot. I left in tears from the REDONDO LOCATION having been made to feel like a schmuck when asking for a simple request. And not just by the unaccommodating manager but also by some cook in the back who had no business getting involved in further humiliating me. I will never return here and will blast this on every social media platform until they properly train their staff on customer service. Having been the creator and owner of Umami Burger way back when, if I saw my staff speak to or heard they had treated a customer as less then, there would be action taken or they would no longer be affiliated with my restaurant. In the current climate where every penny counts, to lose 2 potential customers on their first time there, should be taken seriously. Job NOT well done. I want to like this place but customer service is not as friendly as other coffee shops. I didn't feel as welcomed, maybe because it was my first time and I wasn't a regular? The coffee is strong and delicious. They have different kinds of milk options, which is great since I order non-dairy milk. I like their selection of pastries since they have unique things to offer, such as pistachio raspberry muffin. It was really good, and I'd love to try other things on the menu. We stopped by for breakfast right when the shop opened, while on our way to Palos Verdes. We ordered the French Toast and Avocado Toast. I don't usually enjoy French Toast (especially when the bread gets soggy), but La Terraza's French Toast was an exception. They use Challah Bread, which had a satisfyingly fluffy text, coated with just the right amount of egg. The French Toast wasn't overbearingly sweet, either. The Avocado Toast was pretty typical -- it was simply topped with avocado and tomatos. Nothing too special, but the savory flavor of the Avocado Toast complimented the sweetness of the French Toast well. I'd recommend ordering both dishes to share. I'd also highly recommend coming early in the morning; the food and atmosphere gave me the perfect start to my day. The neighborhood and store front are both very inviting. It's not often that I stay awake thinking about French Toast... but La Terraza's got me going at this ungodly hour! FOOD: 5/5 I chose to order their french toast, avocado toast, and matcha oat milk lattes. I dug into the toast first to find a very surprisingly crunchy bread base under all the cut up avos. It also had a wonderful lemon sauce upon it which I found pleasing! There was a side of arugula as well which my friend and I used to top over the toast. Then I moved on to the pillowy toasts. My goodness- when I tell you I experienced all 5 senses in one bite of this, I mean it! The challah bread was perfectly coated in perfect amounts of egg, and the sweetness of the sugar and syrup was a combo I'm never going to forget about.
