Great place to stop in Morro Bay for an afternoon bite. We ordered the pastrami sandwich and the garden salad. The salad was $5.75 & the hot sandwich $8.95. I forgot to get a picture of the sandwich before we tore in. The pastrami sandwich was flavorful & a nice portion for the price. We would have preferred a little more lettuce and the bread slightly less toasted. The salad was a great value for the price & the Cesar dressing was delicious! My friend is obsessed with the strawberry croissant so she took us and it lived up to the hype. It's not displayed so you have to ask for them to make it but it's very fast. The outside seating has a great view of Morro Rock. Also the outside of the shop just has a sign that says Bakery in red letters so it's a little confusing to find. This is a MUST stop bakery when I visit Morro Bay for work. First, so this is what it's called? lol the outside just has the sign "bakery" and doesn't look like anything exciting but there will be people outside eating and once you walk inside deciding what to get without buying the whole bakery is a challenge. I always get the peanut butter cookies. I love that they have peanuts on top. Also, the go to is the cream Neapolitan. They wee upfront at the register today! I usually don't chat too much about ambience but everyone I visit I meet the nicest and chatty people - it's a nice change from people staring at their phones. update 2022: holy cow oh my goodness this is really the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Haven't been here in a couple-3 years and am so happy to see that it's still here, the croissants are still ridiculously flakey and the egg:cheese:ham:potato ratio is still on point. Why didn't we find this place the first day?! OMG... it's so good! Prices are amazing! Staff is friendly and sweet.. just like their baked treats! Even the local customers are friendly! Chatted with one local gentleman who talked up this place and i can see why. We had a cheese Danish, raspberry cheese filled Danish, meringue ball, variety of cookies and some coffee. This was kind of a disappointment from seeing their photos online compared to the actual bakery. I did go there a bit late in the day (around 2-3pm) but there was not a lot of baked goods out and the cookies we bought were a little dry. Maybe their food would have been better earlier in the day but otherwise, it is an underwhelming bakery. read more

We came in on a Sunday around 2pm. They were limited on what they had available. Plenty of cookies, some macaroons, tarts, quiche, etc. I asked if the pastry with almonds had filling. The young lady said it had almond filling. I decide to try that and a regular macaroon. The tables looked clean, but their trashcan should have been emptied, same with the can in the bathroom. I walked in, checked the sign twice to see if this was the place that I had saw on Yelp (same name..yep..) and peered through the cases. The place looked kind of neglected but I was not to be deterred.... I asked for recommendations and the girl recommended an almond croissant which I was looking forward to since I have never met a croissant I didn't like. Well that was about to change. Loved this little cafe. Went a few times during our stay in Morro Bay as it was right next to our rental. The only downfall is they have so much you might not know what to try. Even with multiple visits we didn't get close to sampling Everything. They have a nice little area inside to sit and enjoy your order. Clean tables and floors. Staff was always nice and helpful. Updated review! My breakfast croissant this time around was perfect. Toasted just right with a balanced amount of Swiss cheese, thinly sliced ham, and creamy scrambled eggs. So perfect for a quick morning treat before hitting the beach. You also cannot beat their location as it overlooks Morro Rock. You can cross the street if you'd like and enjoy your meal outside right on the dock. A beautiful pastry shop right on the ocean! I have been here multiple times from Colorado and I will always keep coming back. There is a nice display of pastries, cookies and lots more when you walk in! It's heavenly. I always go away with a big box of pastries and cookies. It's such a nice start to my morning. This was such a find. We haven't had such good pastries in ages. We had woken up early and sauntered down to it when they opened. There were so many choices. My husband had a chocolate croissant and I got something that was filled with custard and raisins. My husband loved the chocolate croissant so much that he ordered 2 more!
