10 10 10s across the board I wished I would have gotten the chorizo torta but the turkey one is good too

    Torta de jamon (ham)

Tortas and juices are spectacular here!!! It's a small place so try to come just before or after lunch hour to avoid a big wait. Not too much seating. Just a couple booths. I love the torta de jamon with everything. No A.C. So it's stuffy inside during hot weather days. If you live Tortas, and are in north Oxnard, give this place a try!

I've been coming here for years and will continue to come! My order is a Asada Torta! They have other really good options! Their fresh pressed juices are great as well! Great place for a good lunch! Service is fast!

    OVERCHARGED!
Customers are not being aware about this extra Fee!

Unfortunately just noticed that they charge you for service 3.99% "service charge" , when I asked for the manager the lady said that the charge is for the use of your credit card, and as you spend more, more is the charged! Not ok to overcharged customers! and not even putting a sign so customers can see this EXTRA FEE! and be aware that the receipt will appears with a subtotal, total taxes and "service charge". Definitely a complaint to follow . CUSTOMERS PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR RECEIPTS AND SPEAK UP, since this abuse should STOP!

This place is disgusting and I will not support unsanitary restaurants. Not to mention it took them an entire year to post prices.

    The horchata.

The food was real authentic Mexican cuisine, the Torta was just phenomenal, I recommend to get that with all the meats inside of it. I also got the Quesotacos which hit the spot. I got the horchata which was the best tasting horchata that Iv ever had. The staff went overboard with great customer service. I also got to try the Nachos which were amazing, definitely would recommend it to anyone in the mood for Mexican food. I was stuffed at the end it. I wanna say that Greg made my day by going over board with the hospitality.

    Torta and Quesotaco

I got the quesotaco and an horchata, both were SO delicious! My boyfriend and I also tried their amazing nachos, and it left us stuffed! The food came out fairly quick and with the yummiest melted cheese! Definitely will be going again very soon, Greg was super hospitable and the overall energy of the place was very welcoming. 100% the place to go when looking for a place to eat in Oxnard!!!

    Vampire juice

Came for freshly made vegetable juice and loved the drink. I ordered a vampire juice containing beet, carrot, celery, cucumber and a bit of orange juice. Flavorful, fresh tasting and healthy. The place is clean. Customer service was very friendly and our drinks were made quickly. I recommend this hidden juice bar.

This place has yet to let me down, been coming here since I was a kid. Their Tortas have such a unique taste, they toast the bread with butter before making the torta. Then followed by a meat of your choosing, lettuce, tomatoes , queso fresco, and pickled jalapeños. Also, the licuados here are delicious. (Mexican style smoothies). They make the perfect combo together, another hidden gem in our community!

    Check these prices out!

This place just baffled me. I'm not even sure how to start. To put it bluntly, the prices are incredibly high, Yet the place looks like a hut and feels like it. These are Carlitos prices , or high-end Mexican food establishments with tons of ambiance and nice decor, this place has none of that. They're obviously not putting money back into the place-it could use a lot of detailing and a deep cleaning. This isn't even near any tourism, yet these are waterfront prices. $16 for two enchiladas? I honestly don't know.

Pretty much the only place that haven't tried in Oxnard city...until yesterday…read more Let's start with the chips and salsa...always a good indicator of things to come. Wasn't the best, but far from bad. The chips were in one of those steel machines to keep warm, they were thin, crispy, and light salt, the way ALL tortilla chips should be. But they were a bit oily only negative. The salsa was cantina style seemed homemade, was good, zero spice/mild. (B+) Combo fajitas (friend order) it was a good tasting with a terrific plate of guac, pico, refried beans, and shredded cheese. Heck, you couldve made a meal from just the side plate wrap em up call it a veggie fajita party. Very filing and good (A-) Other friends had carne asada burrito, and a steak plate, both happy so assuming they are good. Service was outstanding by several individuals; checking in on order, refilling drinks, cleaning table, all workers are terrific and polite. I was ready for the 5-star goldenrod Neptune-trident throwdown, but my order, the torta (D-) was a complete trainwreck. Al pastor and a torta; took a double-jeopardy style gamble and crapped out, snake eyes big time. The bread was abysmal/ not fresh, the al pastor was ice cold and not memorable, meat fused to a cold hardened melted gooey cheese; send it back, replaced with carne asada, still came back cold (just don't get it.) so that item alone dragged it down a star. I was so full from the chips and salsa, sampling friends' food, and the side order of clam chowder (yes, in a Mex restaurant a first for me, was smoky and quite good too! (A-) that I just picked off some of the cold beef and ate that without the bread. Would I come back? Well, when seaside, I usually crave seafood like a nice fish n chips or something, but if I am ever craving Mex, will bring wife and son. Just will not touch the torta with a diez-foot pole amigo. They also have a salsa bar upon entrance which I completely forgot to pound once food came, shame on me once.

With that being said, I wanted to try it out. This was about 2 years ago prior to this visit I had today at this location. I jotted the note down after overhearing him talking about it while watching Netflix. When arriving, the environment outside is run down, old fashioned and in the scary graffiti, homeless surrounding. Parking is difficult to find, but we got lucky me and a colleague. The place is on a road side where parking it located a few streets between about 100 feet away. The surrounding had graffiti and loitering which was unpleasant and I would imagine it is worse at night, be careful here! Inside, a wonderful aroma excites you as you enter the restaurant. Booths all around and hard uncomfortable seats. A lot of people came here today on Sunday afternoon. Customer service was excellent, the guy at the front was very chill, polite and acted as if I was his homie, buddy or good friend. This is what I like. I ordered the birria of course, a meat drenched in a bunch of flavors for days to keep the meat juicy, tender and moist. The variations ordered were three tacos plate with birria, onions cilantro and a consome that was massive. This meal was $17. The other order was a four piece birria quesadilla that was absolutely delightful, succulent and had a delicious hunger craving aroma and flavor that any starving or hungry person would die for! This plate was $14. The tacos did come with beans and rice. Between the two dishes the birria quesadilla was my favorite however, the tacos tasted better. The tortilla of the tacos was fresh and made with love. The value was regular, something I expected compared to taco trucks and side vendors of Mexican food. This place is extraordinary. I felt guilty after consumption because it was fatty, juicy and everything you would want in a pleasurable meal, but it was heavy on the calories and filling. It was a messy meal, I added salsas, more seasoning from the condiments bar. There were so many different sauces and fillings like lemon etc. to balance the flavors of the birria. The console incuded was an added kick that I loved. Definitely one of the best if not the best birria I ever had and I highly recommend this place if you like Mexican cuisine at its finest. An absolute hidden treasure that you need to try! I'll come back after a month of consistent cardio and strength training to burn enough fat and make room for another appetite that soothes my brain cells.

Place isn't too big inside and it was packed when we went on a Saturday afternoon. I was for sure going to get the nachos and tacos but wanted more. The horchata was creamy and you could tell it was made in house. This place is delish, no notes.

I went there for lunch on a weekday, and I was pretty pleased with the service and food. The woman at the counter did speak English so that's always feels more comfortable, especially if you have any special requests. They have an open kitchen where they assemble orders, and the cook was rather friendly. I ordered a roasted pork burrito (I can't remember the name, but it's not carnitas). The meat was tender and tasted like it was slow cooked. The tortilla is not anything special, but all the fillings (rice, beans) were good. There is larger rice than beans ratio, but they give plenty of meat protein. I have been here several times in the past. I remember totally ratchet seating areas, where there were large holes in the floor. There seems to be some updates and the seating area is cleaned up (but I've only done takeout). They now also accept credit cards. For a low cost burrito, this is satisfying. Most burritos are ~ 10.
