Gloria and crew have a solid line up of excellent dishes on the regular menu including, of course, the famous wedding chicken served both in a burrito or naked if you want. Their specials are typically outstanding too, as well as creative, using fresh, in-season local ingredients most of the time. They also serve a mean carafe of red sangria to start with. Solid proof of their dedication to serve and please is their motto "Por que no?" on the wall. When you go to the effort to craft a metal sign saying "Why not?" your customers are in for a special meal. Do yourself a big favor and take a doggie bag home if you are filling up before dessert. You have to leave room for their excellent coffee served in stylish mugs to wash down the choco-flan or tres leches cake. Both are legendary... First time visit for breakfast. Went based on Yelp reviews. Pros: nice ambiance, staff very friendly. Cons: Seems a little overated. My husband ordered the "chuleta" ham steak. The waitress heard chilaquiles. It was a bit noisy in there. Potatoes on his plate were cold and underseasoned. I had the cornmeal pancakes with yogurt and fresh fruit. They were pretty tasty. Once the waitress picked up our dishes it took about 15 mins of waiting around to get our tab. Would not come again. Even ihop seems better to me. And believe me. Im a foodie. read more

The best chille rellanos! I have been trying this dish at every mexican restraunt in Turlock and Merced. Everywhere else uses canned chilles but La Mo uses fresh! My husband had the sliders which he liked very much. His complaint was they only serve healthy food. Whatever! It taste awesome and I didn't feel like I ate a rock when I was done. Have continued to be a loyal "lunch" customer since their opening and have ALWAYS enjoyed everything that I've been served. Finally made it to breakfast a couple of times and WOW! Absolutely delicious! I have had a sampling of their breakfast fare - I had a chorizo, nopales and egg scramble served with potatoes (so good!), the sourdough french toast topped with fresh fruit and cream (amazing!) and the corneal pancakes topped with 100% pure maple syrup and fresh fruit - they were so light and fluffy... definitely one of my favorite items on the menu. And the coffee serve at La Mo is the best... rich and flavorful. The food here is always fresh & I appreciate that they use local produce. My wife and I went to have lunch. The servers were friendly. The food was ok. My wife's plate looked good and she was pleased. I was not impressed. I heard good thing about this place so I figured to give it a shot. I had the Latin Angus Burger. The flavor was good but the size of the patty was way too small. Excellent food and atmosphere. They make great sangria and posole, and any dish with chorizo in it turns out heavenly. I have never been a fan of flan or tres leches cake, but I had both here and not only enjoyed them for the first time, but LOVED them! Patio seating is the best. read more

I have known the owners for a very long time (my whole life) and they truly put their heart and soul into their food!! The food is family recipes that they would be proud to serve at their own table! The pulled pork sandwhich with sweet potato fries is AMAZING!!! And the guacamole is so fresh! I expected so much more since the reviews are so great but the menu didn't have many options. The place is super cute I'll give them that but the food was gross. The service was also not great. My complaint is that it took forever to get food. No apology just a bunch of excuses about how they never expected such a crowd. Here's a tip...Apologize and then give me something to snack on or drink and then tell me it's on you. It could have been some 5 cent tortillas and a small container of salsa. Just quit avoiding my table and come and apologize! Last tip if I have to wait nearly 45 minutes to get my food please ensure that it is hot. La Mo is hands down the best place to eat in Turlock. From the very first time my husband and I ate here (I got the wedding chicken & he got the wedding chicken burrito) we were blown away. The food and atmosphere can't be beat. We highly recommend anything with their amazing wedding sauce (the chicken, the burrito, and the Latin Benedict are all fantastic). Always love eating here, and I honestly come here at least once a week. The food is delicious, and I love that there's so many healthy options. Seriously, some of the best coffee I've ever had. The café is open Monday-Saturday, they do half-off pastries sometimes in the evenings, but back to the coffee. The chocolate for mochas is rich. All syrups are made in house and as close to or completely all-natural. They use locally farmed milk and other locally sourced ingredients. The coffee does not taste burned like some major chains. They take their time, do it right and it leads to a very loyal customer base. Every time I come back to Turlock, I have to get an iced coffee. Yes the coffee is expensive. But, it's worth it - the quality of ingredients and the expertise of those making it... You can't find this anywhere else. The actual restaurant... Their food is also the same. They partner up with local farms- truly a local farmers to table experience. You can taste the quality. This is our special brunch/lunch destination and the mimosas and sangria's are hard to say no to. Everything you get here is delicious. read more

Some of the most original South American style food in Turlock. After a rather mixed first visit our second trip was far better. The pricing is definitely still on the high side but you get what you pay for. The chips, salsa and gauc was great and our entrees were tasty as well. The Dos Amigos I had with carnitas and steak was fresh unique and hot. Definitely a staple of Turlock if you're looking for a date location or are looking for something upscale but not white-table-cloth formal. read more
