Came here with my sissy and her bf. She recommended the London fog. It was great! I was stunned by this exquisite mural of the Virgin Guadalupe! I really do enjoy this place, but the prices make it a rare treat. We ordered three London Fogs, an iced americano and a veggie breakfast bagel, and it was over $40. Like... Also, I'd like the baristas to pay more attention--I requested dine-in and specifically asked for drinks in glass cups. We were given all take away.

Cute spot for sure. I'll give my food rating a 3.5/5 . The only thing that made me feel uncomfortable was the service . Idk if it was early and they're not morning people ,but the vibes was not it. Maybe they shy idk. I'm trying my best not to overthink. But did noticed white people got friendlier vibes.

This one very cool place. A very laid back atmosphere. We sat outside in the middle of their courtyard. The food was very fresh and amazing. The wait staff were very polite and very attentive. Will be back.

This was our first time visiting La Mo, and we initially ended up at the coffee shop next door by mistake. The employees there were very kind and welcoming, and they helpfully redirected us to the restaurant. When we arrived at La Mo, we were greeted and seated quickly. However, it seemed like our presence wasn't entirely welcome, possibly because we had unknowingly arrived about 20 minutes before closing. While we completely understand that arriving close to closing time can be inconvenient for staff, it would have been appreciated if the server had kindly let us know that the restaurant was about to close, rather than seating us and appearing frustrated throughout the interaction. We made an effort to be polite and appreciative throughout the visit, so it was a bit disappointing to feel that our courtesy wasn't reciprocated. That said, we're still open to giving La Mo another try at a better time, as we've heard great things and would love to experience the restaurant at its best. Celeste

La Mo is a must try!! If you are a coffee snob like me you will be in heaven. All of their syrups are house made including their chocolate ganache syrup! The staff is SO friendly. The inside is beautifully decorated and full of life. Their pastry counter was hard to refuse with housemade scones. I will be coming back here all week while in town. They are doing it right!!

If you're looking for a place for cute aesthetic pictures this is the spot! Taste wise... not so much. Food was mid. Not good, not much to choose from, coffee mid, super bitter. But cute pics for sure. And they use the same house salsa for every thing which is also mid. Wouldn't come back

I came here for brunch midweek. While there was no wait, every table was full. I can only imagine what it must be like on weekends! Everything on the menu looked amazing and creative, so choosing was tough. I settled on the Latin Benedict, which was phenomenal. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, even through a shift change. This place is definitely worth trying! read more

I went here for my birthday and was told a table for 2 would be a 15 minute wait, the hostess told us to go get some coffee while we waited from THEIR cafe, we were back within 10 minutes and she had seated 2 groups before us, and then told us she didn't know how long the wait would be, she is the one that told us to go get coffee and we were back before the time she told us to be. I will never go here again because of the poor customer service read more

The atmosphere/ambiance was great and lively. There's outdoor and indoor seating. We had made a reservation about 2 weeks ago and when we arrived there was no record of us having a reservation. However, they were great and accommodated us. We ordered drinks and there was a bug in my drink, I ended up not ordering a replacement drink. Then when I placed my order I specifically told the waitress no tomatoes on my nachos... so I got my food and what do you know? Yup, that's right there are tomatoes. OK no biggie I picked them off, but then I realized they forgot to add the jalapeños( which I hadn't asked be removed). Kind of disappointed with my first visit. read more

Some of the most original South American style food in Turlock. After a rather mixed first visit our second trip was far better. The pricing is definitely still on the high side but you get what you pay for. The chips, salsa and gauc was great and our entrees were tasty as well. The Dos Amigos I had with carnitas and steak was fresh unique and hot. Definitely a staple of Turlock if you're looking for a date location or are looking for something upscale but not white-table-cloth formal. read more

My first impression of La Mo was a warm friendly greeting from the hostess, relaxing entry way seating and a nice outdoor/indoor atmosphere. We went for breakfast before embarking on our babymoon to pacific grove. I'm a big critic of coffee and i have to say, the brew was excellent. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it tasted great. We love this place! Service could be slightly better but the food was fun and delicious. Bottomless Mimosas are an epic plus. Coffees are perfect and almost too pretty to drink. The patio is a perfect opportunity to eat or drink alfresco and it being mostly enclosed allows for a longer season to do such. A bit crowded due to the smallness and closeness even to the bathroom, but tolerable. read more

My friends and I came here for dinner around 7:00 on a Friday night. They told us it was going to be a 30 minute wait and we decided to go elsewhere. As we were walking out, the owner came up to us and told us she hated seeing disappointed customers and went to check again how long of a wait it was going to be. She told us it would only be 15 minutes so we decided to stay. We were so impressed with how she handled the situation. We all ordered margaritas and they were great! I ordered the crab enchiladas, one with the wedding sauce and the other with the roasted tomatillo sauce. Absolutely delicious!!! We all had such a great time. It was the first time I've eaten here and I will definitely be back! read more

Super friendly place . Good food . Keep in mind this is not where u go to get taco trucks size meals for 5$ . Lol. It's fancy down to earth Cosy hidden place with good environment and good clientele . They also have a coffee shop attached to their building with sweets if I am not mistaken . I think it belongs to Sams owners . The food was presentation was over delivered . Portion size was little small but I guess that's not what this place is about . It was more about healthy and good presentation goals . and the achieved it with how busy it was and the amount of reviews they have . Keep it up . Good job . read more

Whenever my sister comes to visit, her and her friends always go to La Mo. I live in town, but always busy so I had never visited La Mo until last month. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, I almost forgot that I was in Turlock and I brought my kids who loved eating outside. I have recommended La Mo to co workers and they have visited from Modesto, Riverbank & Manteca. If you want to get a taste of bigger city life, then La Mo is the place to go. By the way the Sangria was so yummy. read more

I was super excited to finally try this place. I love that their choices were healthier and fresh. The portion I received was perfect. Even my husband, who's not the biggest of fan of "healthy" foods really enjoyed his burrito. Now that they serve dinner on Friday and Saturday nights I will be going back. read more

I met a customer here as a half way point between Fresno and the Bay Area for lunch. The place was nice with an outside courtyard. I had the Persian Fish Soup and Jicama Salad with Salmon. The food was fresh, delicious and fit well with my whole foods diet. I ended with a latte and a container of Wedding Sauce (no idea what it was or tasted like but it was Gluten Free) to bring home. That stuff is magic! I would drive back to the Turlock just to eat there. Maybe next time they will give me the recipe for the Jicama Salad. read more

The best abondigas soup that I have ever had, delicious quinoa & mango salmon salad with a decadently rich piece of chocolate cake with creamy flan for dessert. Everything was very fresh and light. So I finally made it to La Mo with my fiancée. She's been several times and loves it. Although we were seated directly behind a huge partying table, the wait staff was awesome. In fact, the wait staff at La Mo is the best I've experienced in the Central Valley. Period. Super nice and very attentive. Anyway the food was good too. Black bean dip and salad greens to start -- excellent. Entrées were above average. My carnitas were under the heat lamp too long, but were tasty. Her Carne asada was the special that night - not bad but not special. Good portions. We'll be back. read more

We stopped here on way home due to reviews on Yelp. This place did not disappoint. The historic town in Turlock is a very charming place and this place fits right in. I ordered the wedding chicken and it was so yummy I almost licked my plate clean, but trying to have good table manners used the homemade corn tortillas to sop up every bit of this delicious sauce. My daughter had vegetarian stuffed poblano peppers that were also very good my granddaughter had a very delicious steak that I can't say or spell. We all were very impressed with this cafe. My granddaughter shared a la pueblito coffee with us also very good. I must say though that the flan was the best flan I have ever had in my life. Give this place a try you won't regret it. read more

I had heard many GREAT things about this place so I went on Yelp to see reviews and pics of the food. After reviewing yelp and seeing pics posted by friends on FB I finally had the pleasure to review this place myself and I LOOOVED it! I mentioned it was my first time time and they comped a free dessert...mmm! I went this Lenten Friday and had their "Wedding Shrimp" and the "Valencia" coffee! The shrimp was everything I thought they would be and a bit more. The coffee was unlike anything I have ever tasted and ever since I had it I can't stop thinking about it. As I sat and waited for my order to be prepared the person who took my order ('K' name) sat down just behind the register and was on her phone and sucking on her fingertips! She has just boxed my order, I took it and left but won't be eating it because who knows if she'd been nibbling on her hands prior to my order. 1 for my coffee which was good. 1 star for one of the employees who said "bye, have a nice day".

But what you will get is coffee that you can smell from a mile away and a flavor that doesn't need any extra "stuff" to add complexity. Plus he sells coffee ground to your specifications (i.e. if you want coffee for a french press, a drip coffee machine or an expresso, or just want the beans). For a Saturday, we waited about 40 minutes for a table. They will text your phone when a table is ready. Their space is an indoor/outdoor courtyard area that I thought was super cute. Except for the flies that were bothersome during our meal. We ordered: Maple pecan latte - this had a nice autumn flavor, but I wished it wasn't so light/had more coffee flavor. Breakfast burrito with machaca - SO loved this and really enjoyed the flavor of the machaca. Also the burrito was hefty, the SO could only finish half. Chicken and waffles - this is only served on Saturdays I believe. Great texture to the cornmeal waffles and the chicken had a good crunchy exterior. I stole the SO's salsa to dip the chicken in. Service was fine - nothing too crazy. The black coffee we ordered had the same taste and consistency of the coffee leftover at the bottom of the carafe after a boring All-Hands meeting... it was definitely strong! Also I wasn't sure on the refill policy on the coffee since the one mug of it cost almost $5. Our total came to about $60, which in this economy is AIGHT I guess. I wouldn't mind coming back to try their other food options.

This place has terrible sit down service and decent to moderate food. I ordered food for my rehearsal dinner and was told the day of they were no longer going to complete my food order because another order had come in which would require all of their resources. Essentially, they met with my mother-in-law two weeks prior, promised food to be prepared for my event of 50+ people, and then the day of decided to skip out on our agreement because they wanted to make more money on another order. Instead, they could have allocated resources to accommodate both or multiple orders. However, I suppose that would have been too simple of a solution. I would not recommend this place to anyone and have not eaten here since. Also, one of the owners gave off an arrogant or rude vibe (I think her name was Hillary) and constantly interrupted everyone involved in our initial meeting. Maybe they changed owners, but I think it's still the two sisters and their mother. This place was a disappointment after reading such positive reviews in a local health magazine and on yelp only to find them not to be true in my case. So, thinking I had an isolated bad experience, I tried this place again as a sit down patron. This place was not impressive and was more than underwhelming yet again. Below are the reasons why: 1) I ate here with my friends and it took over 45 minutes to seat us without accurate warning of the wait or any obvious visible source for the wait. 2) Our food took over an hour to prepare for a group of three and it did not appear to be very busy. 3) There were flies everywhere inside of the establishment. We had to place napkins over our food in between bites. 4) It was noisy. Between the kitchen noise and some sort of background music we were unable to hold a conversation with one another. 5) Our waitress had the orders confused so when our food arrived we played musical plates. 6) Our food was cold, over seasoned, and/or bland. I ordered the wedding chicken and the sauce tasted as if it hadn't been mixed very well. It was also cold. When I asked if it could be mixed a bit more thoroughly and heated up a bit, I received a nasty look from the waitress. So, out of fear for my food being tainted with random bodily fluids, I ate my cold food. 7) The waitress never cleared our used plates and kept bringing us new cups of beverages without warning, but then failed to clear the old cups. So, by the end of our meal the table was cluttered with dishes and it looked comical for only three people to leave. 8) The decor was cheesy and the floor was sticky. On each of our last five visits, my significant other and I experienced a consistent issue with the staff's disregard for us. While the quality of the food and coffee at La Mo Cafe is decent, the staff's behavior has been quite disappointing. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a slow day or a busy one; our attempts to communicate with staff were often met with indifference. While waiting our order to be called, we inquired about the coffees on the counter, we received no response and were simply walked away from. To make matters worse, both of our drinks on our last visit lacked enough espresso and tasted so bad that we had to throw them out. The quality of the coffee has also been inconsistent. On top of that, we observed other customers at the coffee counter facing similar difficulties. One incident stood out when a staff member initially made a drink in a regular cup for a customer who wanted it to go. The staff then poured the drink from the cup into a to-go cup, assuming the customer would accept it as is. When the customer requested the drink to be remade to their specifications, it prompted the remaking of the drink by the staff, who were also overheard whispering among themselves. Unprofessional. Furthermore, the service was so poor that I didn't even feel comfortable requesting a refund for our poorly made drinks. Instead, I opted to file a dispute with my credit card company. We've given this location multiple opportunities, and each time, we have tipped generously in the hope of a better experience. However, our efforts to be courteous customers were met with disrespect, leaving us feeling ignored and undervalued. We believe in second chances, but after experiencing this for the fifth time, we've decided that this will be our last visit to La Mo Cafe. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

This is the third time coming to the cafe part. Each time, I order the garden bagel. I have noticed that each person that has made my bagel 1) doesn't wash their hands before 2) doesn't wear gloves to make it. This is disgusting!!! The second time I came, it was a younger Hispanic woman that kept pushing her hair behind her ears!! Then would make my bagel. So, I threw it away. This third time (which I am still waiting for my bagel, after 13 minutes of waiting...I have my receipt), this younger woman (who made my bagel), came out from the back, made herself some coffee, the female barista asked her if she was going to make the bagel, and the younger woman said "ugh, no", then took her coffee and went back to the back. The younger white woman didn't wash her hands, came out from the back, rubbed her nose, and then grabbed the bagel with her bare hands and started to make it. They don't even have tongs to take the bagel out away from the other bagels. This is so disgusting! It took 16 minutes for them to make my garden bagel, which I threw away because of hygienic reasons. I know for a fact if you work with food, you have to have a food handlers card. This place knows that they're doing wrong. It is really sad because it is cute, and when I did eat the garden bagel the first time, it was really good. That is why I gave this establishment 2s, for the bagel the first time. I just noticed, their containers have "Eco Products" on them. Please care about how the food is handled, not not just disposed of please. read more

We had a really disappointing experience. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, it took about an hour for our food to arrive. From the start, service was disorganized--they forgot to bring us the drink and coffee menu, then the specials menu, and even our waters. When drinks finally came, it had been about 30 minutes, and they were served with a clear lack of care--straws were tossed onto the table, and we were met with rude looks, especially from one server who we later learned was the owner's daughter. What made the experience even worse was the apparent racism. The table next to us, who were white, ordered several rounds of drinks and had them delivered promptly each time, while we waited nearly half an hour just for water. It was hard not to notice the stark difference in how we were treated. When the food finally arrived, some of the sweet potato fries were still cold and even frozen in the middle. We considered leaving multiple times, but stuck it out because we felt bad. To make matters worse, as a group of over six, we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity, which felt undeserved given the lack of basic hospitality. No one ever checked on our table, and the attitude we received throughout made us feel like an inconvenience. Unfortunately, this was a zero out of ten experience. Would not recommend. read more

Didnt think such a place existed in the valley. The environment is fantastic, the service is great. Its a cute and popular place for turlockers. Has outdoor and indoor seating. The food during lunch has been on the bland side for my liking but I like things bursting with flavor. However it does feel and taste fresh even if they are stingy on the spices. Excellent! I would have to say I'm very critical when Hispanic food is switched around; this is the best of the best. The Girls were not afraid of switch up and make it more organic and using different textures of food product to make it one of a kind. They created their own original taste, I commend them for taking the initiative going their own way and create La Mo; its more than a Café, fine dining I say. read more

I went here last weekend with 2 of my friends, and was so impressed. The food came quick and was really good quality. I thought because the price was cheap, the food would be too. It was so good. I got corned beef hash, the fruit was fresh, orange juice fresh squeezed. My friend had pancakes and gave me a taste. They were so good. Blew Denny's away completely. Best breakfast place in town! It has a great atmosphere. I noticed reviews about the wait time- it does that a little bit longer to get your meal, but the wait is WELL worth it. This is such a great spot. I would highly recommend the wedding chicken. The only drawback to this place is they don't serve dinner and it's very popular so there is always a wait.
