On this particular day, the community gathered for one of the World Cup games. It was very fun to witness. I've never thought to watch a game at a coffee shop EVER, but why not? Even passers by had to stop from across the street to try and catch a glimpse of the game. I made a very long journey for what some Yelpers claimed to be the best cannoli but it was the smallest thing I've ever seen! I guess that's a thing in MTL. Small or large. There was no option here, but another MTL bakery had that option. As opposed America where one size fits all --- XL always. Anyway, quite disappointing but tasted alright. I suppose it's hard to beat a cannoli from Boston's North End. The coffee was well made but wasn't worth the journey. Perhaps I just had such high hopes. Otherwise, a great coffee shop and would definitely stop by if I was in the area.

The coffee is good (they have non dairy milk). The pastry variety is limited and it changes throughout the year; but everything is always fresh. I've bought the most delicious chocolate+coffee cake from him once. The owner is one of the kindest bakers I've met in Montreal and what i love about his baking style is how he keeps it simple and well balanced with a small touch of the east here and there :) never too sweet, never too shiny or bright, never too crunchy and sometimes, if you taste it carefully, with a little touch of rosewater :)

The filling didn't have the same texture and taste as the typical French pastry shops and the croissant shell was so so. I have had their almond cake and it was a bigger success than their almond croissants. The plus side is it's the one of the few places on Queen-Mary that sells pastries so it can come in handy in case of an emergency if you live in the area.
