Mamie Clafoutis is probably my favourite bakery in all of Montreal! I love how every location is unique and different inside. Seeing the stark contrast between the cosy and rustic 'attic-type' Outremont location to the sleek and modern Nuns Island branch, I was eager to see how what the St. Henri bakery would be like. The layout is more deeper than it is wide, with mismatched tables and chairs, neon green banquette seating and comfy armchairs by the fireplace. Despite being there at an odd time on a weekday, most the spots had already been taken. As usual, the amount of choice and variety at Mamie Clafoutis is wonderful. I had my usual Oh Mon Dieu (the out-of-this-world chocolate explosion pastry - a definite must!), olive baguette and a cappuccino. Yes it is a little on the pricier side but it is worth it as the goods are quality. I highly recommend their olive baguette which is so soft and moist. Service was great and everyone was super friendly! Great place to catch up with friends or for sweet tooths such as myself

Good pastry, middling coffee, medium to high prices, free but sketchy WiFi, lots of outlets, quick service. This local patisserie chain is worth a stop for a snack, but I've found cafes with better drinks and stronger wifi to linger for more than a minute. 3.5 overall. If the drinks get better, it would be a 4. The pastry is solid.

Mamie Clafoutis had been in my bookmarks for a while when I finally decided to give it a try, one fine Wednesday morning walking in St-Henri. It held a promise of delicious sweets, coffee and fresh bread; and it delivered! After glancing at the menu, my husband and I went for the morning combo: A sourdough baguette with cheese, coffee and a small cake, all for $6.95 each. The bread was on par with Première Moisson, the best bread in town if you ask me, fresh, soft yet sturdy, with a crispy crust; perfect! I find that it is hard to find good bread nowadays in a world where processed goods are becoming the norm, but thankfully there are still some bakeries like this one that produces succulent handmade breads. The coffee was great and the cakes (we picked a lemon and a caramel cake) were fantastic. The decor was homey and welcoming, the wall behind the counter topped with a cuckoo clock, chirping every hour, creating a fun ambiance in the place. If I had one suggestion to make dear Mamie, I would please ask you to add more cheese to your baguette! You spread it so thinly that I feel like you are attempting to ration goods like in the great depression. The 30s are over, Mamie, let us celebrate! In all seriousness, I recommend Mamie Clafoutis for all amateurs of viennoiseries, coffee and fresh breads. They have what it takes to please the palate - or at least my picky palate!

Delicious and fresh desserts and pastries. The staff was so nice and made excellent recommandations. Would definitely come again.

Nice place right beside the corona theatre I went at closing so I had no deserts to chose from which was the only sucky part. I bought enough stuff and when I got home I realized the only dessert they had that I bought wasn't given to me which sucked but other then that try the blue cheese bread heated up of course.

I was visiting from NYC but soon found out after my visit here that NYC has been doing pastry wrong. I tried the pistachio croissant and had one or was it two or three or it may have been five chouquettes. I've since been trying to find a place in NYC that has chouquettes!!! It was all so fresh and delicious.

St-Henri is seriously a hot spot for sweets. Thanks to the many good places like Patrice Patissier, Leche, Rustique and now Mamie Clafoutis I feel my pants get a little tighter every time I enter that part of Montreal. Mamie Clafoutis has long been on my list of places to try but since I rarely find myself by their St-Denis location I had yet to give it a go. Imagine my delight when I found out they had one next to the Atwater Market. It was late afternoon so I thought best to only get a snack. They do have a variety of sandwiches and salads though so I will definitely be trying them out for lunch in the future. Anyways a chocolatine and small latte came to only slightly more than $5 which wasn't too bad at all and the quality was topnotch. The chocolatine was crispy on the outside but buttery and flaky on the inside and it had just the right amount of chocolate in it. The latte was also pretty good and puts Starbucks to shame. Needless to say there will be more trips back here to test out their other products.

Came here for a quick cappuccino, it was very good. Service was quick and efficient. Price-tag was a bit steep as per all these trendy coffee shops ($4). The bakery is very enticing and I speak beyond the good behind and on the counters. It's modern and comfortable. The design is well thought out. I liked the open kitchen concept where you can see what's going on. I'd definitely would come by again and test out the goods in the future, they looked very appealing.

Nice bakery with okay coffee and pastries. I found the chai tea to be very watery and not foamy. The only pastry that I would really recommend and would other again it's the Mamie Kouign. I've tried the croissant, almond croissant, and roule de mamie. Ham and cheese croissant was ok.

chocolatine aux pistaches and canele from Mamie Clafoutis

passed by this place on my way to Patrice Patissier and said to my self, why not try both? Did not grab a number cuz there weren't many people. The chocolatine aux pistaches had a very crispy outside and the combination of chocolate and pistachio was tasty. Canele was moderate.

Best of bests! First time I went to Saint-Denis, but today I could try this one on Notre-Dame. It doesn't matter what you choose you're gonna be satisfied. Thanks for the super yummy strawberry cake for today. We brought to a BBQ party and everybody loved it.

This place was hands down a highlight of my Montréal food scene experience. The shop itself is very cute and cozy, with just two small tables by the window and a few chairs. The décor is simple, and so are your choices, which honestly works in their favor. When you step inside, you get a direct view of the bakers working their magic, which makes the experience even better. We ordered a hot chocolate, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and a slice of the Kouign‑Amann. If you like a dark, rich hot chocolate that's not overly sweet, look no further, this is the place. As for the croissants, both the plain and chocolate versions were good but fairly standard. However, the real star was the Kouign‑Amann. It was served warm, perfectly crispy, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was so good that when I finished my slice, I went back to the counter hoping for more but they were sold out. To be fair, I arrived around 2pm and they close at 3pm. Despite that, the line moved quickly, and the staff were some of the sweetest people ever. My only regret? I only bought one slice. I'd highly recommend this place, but make sure you get there early if you want to snag a slice of Kouign‑Amann before they sell out.

We both had a "tranche" /slice /portion of the flaky pastry originating from Brittany. While it does not look like the Kouign Amanns I've had before, it definitely tasted fabulous. We were not the only ones who thought so. While we ate our bounty at one of the two open tables, we saw person after person purchase whole galettes, possibly for an upcoming family gathering. The pastry had a sweet and crunchy crust and a buttery interior. Here, it does not resemble a croissant. Instead, the layers of dough were softer than the typical honeycomb structure of a croissant. Speaking of which, my sister also recommends the croissants here, which she used to have regularly when the shop was open more frequently.

I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.

The restaurant didn't provide a high chair for our baby, which was a bit disappointing. The service was good with our waitress checking with us to order and being prompt and attentive. Here is what we ordered: Grilled Cheese O+G (8/10) - the bread with the grilled cheese and caramelized onions were cooked well. The homemade ketchup had a sweet taste to it and was brought out a little colder than room temperature. I probably would have preferred the ketchup/tomato sauce to be a bit warmer. The Chicken Melt (8/10) - this sandwich was pretty big. It had grilled chicken in a creamy sauce, some Cole slaw (actually a lot of Cole slaw) and some dill pickles. The sandwich was a bit messy to eat and I think it had a little too much Cole slaw, but it was a good sandwich, nonetheless. Overall, I good experience with a few suggestions in my review that I think would have made it really great.

The Long Version: So I had never heard of Rossetti before. They didn't exist when I was living in Montreal (the 2000s) and after I left, my husband (who was still my boyfriend at the beginning) and I would return often (at least a few times a year until 2019) and I'm pretty sure they weren't around then. We took a few years hiatus from visiting Montreal and then when we returned in 2024, boom, Rossetti had 4 different locations in the downtown core! What's their origin story? I have no idea. Their website has no "About Us" section. All I know is they opened sometime between 2020 and 2024, lol. I tried their caramel eclair ($5.50). The caramel icing was really tasty, but I found the choux pastry and the custard filling a bit dry. They have cannoli, amaretti, financiers, croissants and tarts. They also have sandwiches and pizza. I was disappointed that they didn't have sfogliatella, my favourite Italian pastry. Oh, they also have coffees and teas. The interior is nice with seating to dine in. Service was neutral. I may return to try another item. Maybe at one of their other locations. Review #16 (2025)

While in Miami last year, my husband, mother-in-law and I became big fans of the Rosetta on lower Collins Ave and then once they opened the one by Lincoln Center in NYC, we began to visit that one often since it's walking distance. After climbing to the Kondiaronk Belvedere on Mont Royal, we decided we needed sustenance on our way back down and we spied Rosetti as we were walking back to our hotel. Since it looked very similar to Rosetta, we decided to stop in and grab a bite. The sandwiches and pastries were on full display and we knew we made a good choice. I had a Pizza Margherita which was huge...I could have shared it. I also had a caramel tart for a sweet treat afterwards. Others in the group had sandwiches and other sweets which they all enjoyed. There are some stools at a counter downstairs and a little more seating upstairs with a few low tables along with some high tops and counters. The ladies who worked there were very nice. We enjoyed our food and think it's a great place for a quick bite that's a bit elevated from traditional fast food.
