    Big macarons

This is a COVID-19 take out review of Dessert Cafe Momo. It is a very cute cafe in Monkland that specializes in Korean desserts and nice, light Asian type cakes. They have a variety of coffees and drinks to choose from apart from desserts. We ordered an americano and a matcha latte, with 6 big macarons to go. The americano was AMAZING and I don't even like coffee - it tasted very chocolatey and delicious. The matcha cafe was also perfect, it was mixed well and was very comforting for matcha. It was also the perfect amount of sweetness. We ordered 6 big macarons to go and because we ordered six, there was no taxes. It was reasonably priced because they are MASSIVE and you can easily share between two people and have quite a bit of it. The shapes are so cute (including an earl gray latte Charlie Brown shape). I know how hard macarons are to make so I was thoroughly impressed. The macarons weren't too sweet either! Service is great and fast, the person helping us was very sweet and talkative. I really hope this cafe stays open for a very long time! I will be sure to order one of their cakes for next time.

    Brownie bingsoo

Bingsoo is similar to ice cream, but it's made with frozen milk that's grated and you have the option to choose your topping from the various selections that they have available on the menu. First time trying bingsoo and I went with 2 flavors. Tiramisu and brownie, both equally delicious and sweet, perfect to enjoy in the summer. Service was really helpful & friendly. There is limited seating inside and it was pretty full when I went, but there is seating available outside.

This little gem on Monkland offers a wide variety of desserts and drinks with some of the best Korean desserts you can get. From macaron to bingsu with a wide selection of cake, anyone with a sweet tooth will find something there. I recently had to have a cake made for a friends birthday and with the opening hours being messed up because of the pandemic, I sent them a message on instagram and got a very quick response. The cake tasted great, the prices were reasonable for a custom cake and services was friendly and professional. I will definitely go back there once restaurants are allowed to reopen. Highly recommended.

Super cute cafe on Monkland also available on Uber eats. During the summer and before any lockdown measures, you would be able to sit outside to enjoy some shaved ice cream or a coffee. If you are lucky enough you will see Momo, the owners friendly dog. They are still open during COVID and have a very clear process for ordering and make sure customers are properly distanced. I ordered the cutest macaroons that are made in house. You can order as many of any flavour as you would like. Since it was before the holidays they had themed decorations of Rudolph. All the flavours I tried were amazing, you can really tell they use real, good quality ingredients. My favourite were the chocolate ones, they were very rich and full of flavour! I went specifically for these but there are tons of other desserts and cakes to try. Great idea to pick up and share with the family!

As much as I used to like this place, it has gone downhill..... their latte tasted so- so and was cold, the barista was really rude, they no longer accept credit card, they don't give receipts, you have to ask them multiple times to stamp their loyalty card and give attitude and don't stamp for the number of coffees you pay for- why? I brought them many new customers and lots of business but sadly this experience did not do it for me even though I want to support local businesses.

Delicious Bingsoo, cute decor and friendly staff, this explains the perfect 5 star rating here on Yelp and also on Google. My husband and I came here for some dessert before heading out for dinner, lol. You know what they say, "Life is uncertain, eat dessert first!" I had a small Mango Bingsoo $5.99 and my husband had the Oreo Bomb $3.99. Bingsoo, for those who aren't familiar with this Korean dessert, is a shaved ice dessert, similar to the Malaysian Ais Kacang, the Filipino Halo-Halo and the Taiwanese shaved snow. The "ice" is actually sweetened milk, frozen and then shaved into delicate pieces that resemble finely shredded coconut. It literally melts in your mouth. It's sweet and creamy and tasted heavenly. You can get different toppings and the mango one I ordered came with chunks of mango, mango puree, and mochi (rice cake pieces). It was so incredibly delicious. I think that I will have to go back to Dessert Cafe Momo everytime I go back to Montreal. My husband enjoyed his Oreo Bomb. I was going to ask for a taste but by the time I finished taking my pictures he literally finished the whole thing, lol. It was an Oreo flavoured mousse enrobed in chocolate with a tiny Oreo on top. The cafe is super cute, although there is not that much seating. Staff are really friendly and nice. The cafe is in the trendy Monkland Village. It's within walking distance from Villa Maria Metro Station.

Matcha frog, crème brûlée, vanilla Bonobono, strawberry cheesecake heart, chocolate bear.

I got a small mango bingsu and one of each of their macarons. The crème brûlée was my favorite among the macarons I got, the others I could take or leave as far as flavor and texture - though they are all adorable. I was hoping they would have the earl grey Charlie Brown macaron that day, but they did not. I would come back to try that one and get more of the crème brûlée macarons. The bingsoo was a good size and had nice mild flavors, not too sweet. The texture of the ice is unlike any shaved ice I've had before...at first glance I thought it came with shaved coconut on top, but when I took a spoonful I realized that was the ice! Very finely shaved ice slivers. Any more than a size small would have been overwhelming for me.

Visited this place during my vacation in Montreal, and loved it! This was our last stop on the trip before we drove back to New York. We came just before they were closing in 10 minutes. I believe it was the owner, who helped us out (early 30's gentlemen). There were no macaroons on display, but he pulled everything from the back for us to see what he had. He was so patient with us, and did not rush us out. He let us order anything we wanted. We got a couple of macaroons and a mango bingsoo. The macaroons were so cute and detailed, but they were even yummier! I would highly recommend the macaroons! I would definitely return if I come back to Montreal. It's a little cute cafe that is very cozy and a perfect place to get some work done, grab some pastries, or just have coffee with friends.

Matcha strawberry shortcake with two macarons (special order)

I found them on Instagram to order a BD cake for my sister. They were very responsive and nice. The cake was ready on the agreed date and time - no hiccups there. The cake was well made - it was fresh and delicious. Everything was good except for the BD sign - I wish I was told beforehand that I am being charged extra for a small piece of paper because I was expecting a chocolate sign (like they post on their page). If Yelp had half point rating system, I would give them a 4.5 and not 4 star. I still strongly recommend this place for their desserts tho and the people here are really nice. Note: they don't charge tax if you pay cash

Beautiful little Korean mom and pop cafe located on Monkland street with super friendly and welcoming owners. I've been here many times for their cakes, but recently I've been going for the macarons. My favorites so far are the Oreo and the Matcha macarons, but they are coming out with new flavors almost every day, so there are a bunch I haven't tried yet. Many people have also told me that their bingsoo is one of the best in Montreal so I definitely need to go back to try it.

Went here twice this week with some really good friends and had a great time on both occasions. The second time was on a Saturday and wound up being really busy so we ordered to go, and the always friendly owner had no problem switching our order to eat-in when a table opened up! I ordered the mango bingsu which has been a favourite over the many times I've come here in the past few years. The combo of shaved ice milk and mango syrup is a great combo with small mochi pieces mixed throughout, it's a great combo of flavours and textures . The ambiance makes this spot one of my favourite locations-- including an overall dog theme, warm lighting, and cute details like earthenware dishes and cute spoons that smile back The staff is also always friendly and happy to see you, even on the busiest of days Overall I've exclusively had a good time at Cafe Momo and is a favourite spot to bring friends.

Mango bingsoo for the win! This cute little shop does not disappoint. Very friendly service, and such a delightful dessert treat. Will be coming back again and again.

Wow wow wow! I have tried countless bingsoo cafes and this is the second time I give a 5-stars to one, the first being in Vancouver, the Asian food paradise of Canada. Everything about this place is perfect. The interior is pretty small and cozy, fitting maybe 12-15 people max. It is nicely decorated with cute lights and pictures. The relaxing Korean music (eg. Bolbbalgan4) fit the atmosphere perfectly. I tried 4 flavours of bingsoo: tiramisu, matcha, Oreo and injeolmi. The ice equally fluffy and milky but all four were amazing in their own way! The tiramisu bingsoo comes with a piece of tiramisu cake and a pipette of espresso xD. The powder was chocolate flavoured which was perfect for me. The matcha is imported from Japan and has that authentic bitterness. The Oreo cookie chunks were uniform and had the perfect crunchy texture. Finally, the injeolmi actually had corn flakes incorporated in the dessert which made the texture super interesting! The owners of the shop (named after their extremely cute dog) were suuuper nice as well! I loved my experience and would definitely come back. This cafe definitely makes Montreal proud!

I've ordered sandwiches, tried their pizzas, devoured their biscottis, gorged myself with their dessert pastries, etc. But the cheese Danish I got this morning was beyond amazing. The light pastry was filled with a cheese mixture that probably had some ricotta in it. Superb! The store has a variety of pastas, coffees, and other imported Italian goodies. Best of all, the counter folks are courteous, helpful. and friendly. Easy to get to from other parts of the city. The 104 and 90 bus both stop at Upper Lachine and Melrose.
