    Milk Chocolate Hot Chocolate

Some friends and I stopped in to Cacao 70 one December evening for some hot chocolate. I had the Milk Hot Chocolate, which was pretty standard. It wasn't thick like drinking chocolate, and it wasn't too thin or watery like chain-made hot chocolate drinks. The flavor was nice, and I liked how the marshmallows on top were slightly toasted (how every marshmallow should be.) My friends each enjoyed their beverages as well. Cacao 70 was a perfect after-dinner stop for us on our walk back to our hotel. We all noted that it seems like a perfect place to get "chocolate wasted" in a sensible manner.

Got here right when it opened, only a couple other people. I walked in and was promptly greeted and sat down. I was in the mood for brunch food so of course I got a crazy decorated waffle (After Party Waffle) and a side of bacon to make things a bit savory. I also decided to order a black sesame hot chocolate. You can order the mix of this to make at home, by the way. The food came out quickly and everything was really presentable (seeing as how Instagrammable all this food is) and pretty much lived up to aesthetic expectations. In terms of taste, the waffle was now a bit soggy from the mound of whipped cream on top. The extra toppings on the side were nice but I didn't even finish it all because it got too sweet after a while. The bacon was a little smaller and thinner than I would've expected for the price. I think if you're expecting a meal, this could be a place but this restaurant is really good for dessert. The waffles are meant to be for dessert, not necessarily for a meal. The sides might break your wallet and not be as filling. Overall, I'd come back whenever I'm in a city in Canada that has one!

The fondue and chocolate was delicious! However, the actual waffle left something to be desired. It felt like a frozen waffle and was quite doughy... the presentation was great and I would definitely recommend getting a side of their fondue if you're a chocolate lover! My friend got the black and white waffle and had a similar experience.

Ordered Uber Eats from here, more specifically, I ordered their Nutella & Fruits Crepe (when in Montreal ;)), which has strawberries and bananas in it. It was VERY delicious. It even had chocolate on top of it - oh man, did that ever help make the crepe tastier! I was in the mood for a crepe, so I did a Google search for "best crepes in town", and this place came up. It seems like there is a great variety of stuff to eat and drink on their menu here. The next time I'm in Montreal, I'll definitely eat at this place again, and maybe try one of the other meals/drinks the other Yelpers are recommending here.

My sister and I wanted to get an afternoon snack and we were lucky to find a Cacao 70 near our hotel. The menu is full of chocolate decadence, but also has a few options for people like myself who are not so much into chocolate. There were plenty of tables available at 3PM and we were seated promptly. My sister ordered a triple chocolate pizza and I ordered the Crepe Suzette. My sister was sooo happy eating up the chocolate pizza and my one bite of it was quite good. Now the Crepe Suzette. The menu said that it was alcoholic but I figured that the alcohol was going to be reduced away during the cooking of it. When it arrived to the table, I was a bit confused. It was a square crepe with a side of vanilla ice cream and a side of the sauce (or so I assumed). I kind of shrugged and poured the sauce over the crepe. I took a bite and my eyes popped wide open. It was straight up Grand Marnier! I probably had the same look on my face as that one time my dad had accidentally taken a shot of Grand Marnier when he thought he was finishing up a taste of Port. Ultimately really liked the crepe Suzette. I cut out strips of the crepe, added some ice cream and Grand Marnier and rolled the crepe over before eating, which gave me a really great bite of everything. 4/5.

I came here for brunch with some friends, and it was a great experience! The menu is full of chocolatey-goodness, and their brunch menu is quite extensive as well. As I had already eaten something before I met up with my friends (OOPS), I ordered a strawberry white chocolate milkshake. It was served cold, and it was VERY creamy in a good way. The strawberry flavour really came out and I was a little sad when it was finished. After my milkshake, I couldn't help myself and I ordered a parfait as well. DELICIOUS. The service was great and I look forward to coming here again!

the food was so so so good! it came quickly, and the service was amazing. I came with a large group of 14 people too! Minimal mistakes, and outstanding service

I had a bad experience in the flagship location but decided to give them a second try at their location on Parc avenue and oh my, what a difference!! I think I just had the best-cook waffle ever! Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside! Love it! The ambiance was great, on a Sunday night, not too crowded, a great place to spend the last moment of a weekend with the love one! Next time I'll go back there to try their salty menu!

The savory breakfast options pale in comparison to the sweets. This wasn't too great.

I've been here twice, once for brunch and once for desserts. I think desserts are much better here. Food: the dessert options are great. I recommend the sets for two that they offer, I think they're a great sampling set. The brunch I thought was less impressive and would recommend instead having the sweets menu rather than the savory if here for brunch. Service/Price: not much to be said here, pretty timely service and reasonable prices. Ambiance: dead in the morning it seems, but I had a good time when it was fairly busy around the afternoon. I enjoy the music and energy here around those hours.

Cacao 70 is perfect when you're craving a sweet treat. Their menu is pretty standard and you'll be pleased with most of it. I wouldn't say it's the type of dessert you dream of indulging into but it hits the spot. My warning is go in wanting to spend some quality time with someone because the service is so slow. They usually have 2 people waiting their big restaurant on busy nights and they really struggle to keep up. My favourites are their strawberry shortcake and their banana split!

Landed there for brunch randomly and was really pleased. Very cute spot away from the downtown madness. Service was great and food was delicious. Menu is filled with delicious sweets and some savoury ones too.

It's a beautiful restaurant, they cover a wide area within the hotel, including a lounge area, a more cocktail bar area, and a full restaurant set up. The beauty? They cover anything you might want. The downside? They're busy and usually severely behind schedule. I've been with great, consistent staff and I've been and left after 20 minutes of no check in. It can be hit or miss, but when it hits? It hits. They also provide the food that you order up to your room, which is probably my favorite part. Hotels rarely offer the same great menu to your room and so I always know when I've had a long workday that I can just get the same great dinner and lounge in bed after and avoid people. They also are great at getting breakfast to your door early, which makes trips to Montreal so much easier, especially if you're going for work. They always have a great selection of drinks, full bar so they offer everything, and the bartenders has been the same for at least a couple years. They're really nice. They do a good job. Ask for the food, it is always good, and the part I love is that they're very good about allergies when you mention it to them. They offer gluten-free bread and they change out ingredients. I've never had a bad meal or snack. So even when sometimes the weight is too long I know I'll be back another day and I'll have something great.

There is a bar in front with lounge style seating. It was eclectic and the music had a French twist. I ate lamb the first night and steak the night after. Both delicious but I liked the lamb better and the nioch was a nice touch. The thinly sliced fries with the steak was difficult to eat. The octopus was amazing and soft. Overall great and attentive staff and good food.

Not only does it come with matcha ice cream, it has red beans, chunks of matcha cake, matcha jelly, and some rice crispies inside. It's texture heaven for people who like a little bit of everything. Though the rice crispies do get a bit soggy because they are on the bottom, so if I suggest trying to get to the rice crispies sooner rather than later! It's a pretty small store so it's not a hangout spot, but more of a place to pop in to grab a treat and go walk around the city. I miss this spot and wish they had a location in the US.

Asian desserts are usually not sweet so this is expected and well executed. Parking is street only, and it gets busy, so expect a line. Overall, a great spot for high‑quality Asian matcha desserts and well worth the wait.
