TLDR: Popular crepe place in downtown Montreal. Crepes were good. I was disappointed that the salad was pre-dressed with no option for dressing on the side. My husband and I went to Cafe et Crepe for breakfast on our latest trip to Montreal. I got the roast beef crepe ($15.95) which comes with roast beef, bell peppers, cheese, spinach and usually onions, but I asked them to omit it. My husband got the turkey, cheese and egg crepe ($15.95). All savoury crepes come with a side salad. I asked for the dressing on the side and was told that's not possible because the salads are pre-dressed. Bummer because I find pre-dressed salads over-dressed for my tastes and double bummer because the dressing contained poppy seeds, which I can't eat :( Food was not wasted though, my husband ate my salad, lol. The crepes are regular wheat crepes not the buckwheat Breton-style crepes. They were tasty though and I liked that they were not stingy with the fillings. The peppers in my crepe were nicely al dente and were plentiful. The roast beef was deli meat, but there was a good amount. I had a taste of my husband's crepe and it was good too. The turkey was also deli meat. The salad had kale, carrots, red cabbage and corn kernels. My husband thought it was ok. It was drenched in dressing. Service was satisfactory. The ambiance is very casual. There's a television streaming sports. It's in an aged building that it shared with other businesses such as a spinning or was it Pilates (?) studio. The washrooms are up a flight of creepy stairs in the building (you have to exit the back of the restaurant). The place seemed to be popular with tourists. We sat at the front away from the crowds, but the back was full. They also have outdoor seating if you prefer to dine Al fresco. Street parking only, which I imagine would be a pain to find. I absolutely love crepes. I love how versatile they are and how creative you can get with making them. It's really hard to mess up a crepe because usually the stars are the ingredients inside of the crepe. The cafe in itself doesn't look like much, but it was full of people, and they make a very good crepe here. I ordered something you don't normally see in menus, and that's a mochaccino. Whatever chocolate they use it is fantastic, really good quality. I'm thinking about it in lamentation because I know that unless I make it myself, I probably wont stumble across one as good as that was. Then came the crepe. It had goat cheese, mozzarella, spinach, and egg. So massive that I was already full by the time I ate half of it. It came with this sauce or Dijon dressing that knocked my socks off good. Also tried the sweet crepe and that was amazing as well. What a delightful breakfast before a full day of activities in old Montreal! I'd highly recommend it. read more

I visited Montreal for my sightseeing. I was hungry. I was standing and staring at their menu in front of cafe et crepe. Then, a lady who passed by told me that cafe et crepe is really good. So I entered the restaurant and I ordered cinnamon butter crepe and my partner ordered tuna cheese crepe and Ice latte. All of them are very good. The texture of the crepes are awesome. I am totally baffled. How do you take a fresh, thin pancake and add cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter and have it come out bland? Seems like you are disobeying some law of physics there. The crepe itself was just blah. They used some very coarse brown sugar and were pretty skimpy with the butter. My wife and I split one and didn't finish it. Didn't finish half a crepe. Didn't think it possible. How does this happen in a city so French. I could see it in a small town in Wyoming or something but Montreal? Yeesh. read more

I love crepes, both sweet as well as savory for a late morning brunch. Or, actually anytime. I am no crepe connoisseur but I've eaten both crepes in the U.S as well as in Belgium. This morning we ordered a large mug of cafe au lait which hit the spot. It came to the table, steaming hot and creamy. Just the way I like it. Next we ordered a salmon bagel and side of pasta salad, a brown sugar cinnamon butter crepe, a strawberry banana nutella crepe as well as a savory crepe with spinach, brie cheese and apples with side salad. After placing your order, you can watch your crepes being made as they have a cooking station right by the front window. It's almost like a fine art, to see them cooked and folded with whatever toppings you are craving. The eatery is cozy and it has a relaxed vibe. Servers are friendly and check in with you, so no need to try and flag a person down. All our dishes were good and it was a great way to start our day in Montreal. I would go here again! read more

We came here for crepes, which were totally fine. I had a spinach and cheese crepe and my bf has spinach, egg and cheese. No issues whatsoever with the taste or quality of the crepes. The problem here was the wait. There was hardly anyone ahead of me in line when we ordered so I expected this would be a quick stop for breakfast. Absolutely not. We waited over half an hour for them to make our crepes. Really did not understand why it took so long as there did not appear to be many people in line. This is a cool crêpe café located relatively close to Complexe Desjardins. The crêpe was very delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. Service is quite friendly here too which is always important. The crêpe, despite being excellent, was also made very quickly too. Impressive, if you ask me. FYI, I ordered the Strawberry-Banana Nutella Crêpe when here which was really delicious. The overall café ambiance is quite peaceful, or at least that's what it was like when I was here on a Thursday in mid-May at noon. My only complaint is that finding a washroom in this building is quite tough. I had a hard time finding one and ended up having to use another restaurant's washroom that was also attached to the building this place was in. Other than that, I'll definitely be back here when in the Montreal area and I need a crêpe. read more

Stopped here on a recent trip to Montreal. We were seated right near the front which was great because the crepes are made right there in the front window. It was fun to watch and I think it says something good when an establishment is so confident about their food preparation that they let customers watch. We had a ham and cheese crepe and a goat cheese, pesto, spinach and tomato crepe. They were hot, delicious, light as a feather and full of flavour. They are served with a side of fresh green salad. The dressing on my salad was an onion poppyseed dressing that was tangy and crunchy. I found it so good I asked if there was somewhere I could buy it. Service is fast and friendly. The coffee is hot and good and served in big bowl cups. The location is on a busy street with lots to see and do. read more

I had bad luck finding creperies that were open near our hotel as some just seem to be closed on random weekdays or open way too late for breakfast, so I was happy to find this one near the Complexe Desjardins mall when we were ready to end our day of walking around. The strawberry-banana-nutella crepe came out pretty and yummy and was big enough for us two to share. It certainly did the trick! read more

I absolutely loved this place! While it looks like and is an ordinary cafe, the crepes are out of this world! Before leaving Canada, I wanted to try the crepes to see how they differed from the ones I eat in the US. For starters, there is a person making the crepes by the window of the cafe so you can watch as it gets made. The prices were very reasonable and the taste was incredible!
