Great food and service. Very welcoming and homey. They even provide free wifi. I would come back to try their fondues but their escargot was very good and the soups delish! A great stop for a break from walking in old Montreal along the old port area. The waiter even let my daughter practice her French which was so nice.

Chez Suzette came highly recommended as a best in breed creperie. We met friends there to try their crepes. Our crepe selections included - bacon and egg, shrimp, vegetable and sugar maple. Alll the crepes were soft in texture and flavorful. They had both savory and sweet crepes. Our server was genteel and super sweet. She was also a crepe expert. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. It was chill environment. Very much like Europe, it was no rush for us to leave. We had to ask for our bill. Nice to try authentic crepes...

Solid place to stay for some standard French cuisine, it's right on a busy corner in Vieux Montreal which brings in a lot of business. We stopped in here on a cold afternoon to warm up and everything was good. I got the french onion soup which was loaded with onions and cheese and my friend got the lobster bisque. Prices are a little higher due to the location but nothing that will break the bank.

Walked by on a very cold day and fondue and crepes sounded amazing. We were seated promptly upstairs looking over the street and the service was great and quick. We ordered the regular fondue and a Nutella crepe with strawberries and banana to split. The fondue was served with apples and two types of bread and the crepe came with whipped cream and ice cream. Both were amazing - I'd go back in a second to try something else. Highly recommend!!

"She was Wall Street, I was pawn shop, She was French champagne, I was beer, She was Boston, I was Vegas, She was crepe suzette, I was pie" (Frank Sinatra) If you ever have a hankering for crepes or fondue while in Old Montreal, head on over to Rue de Saint Paul Est and enjoy a fun meal at Chez Suzette. It's a very popular destination and by the time we finished our lunch at around 2:00 it looked like every table in the dining room was occupied. Their menu lists fourteen savory crepes with assorted combinations and permutations of ham, chicken, cheese, asparagus, eggs, salmon and shrimp. If you have a sweet tooth, they'll tempt you with their sweet crepes with maple syrup, ice cream, fudge sauce, Nutella, chocolate, whipped cream, fresh fruits, and more. We ordered a Western Vegetarian crepe (C$17.99) with scrambled eggs, Swiss cheese, mushrooms and diced orange peppers. My wife went for a sweet crepe and decided on the S'more Crepe (also C$17.99) with Nutella, marshmallows, fudge sauce, and crushed graham crackers. We finished every last micro-morsel of our crepes, so you can rest assure they were fantastic. A regular coffee was {C$4.50), and I also had an iced cappuccino smoothie (C$9.99) that was ridiculously delicious and full of flavor. Service was attentive, with food check-backs and a freshly brewed coffee refill. The dining room is stylish with plenty of paintings and artwork on the walls. This was a solid stop for a very enjoyable lunch.

Lovely crepe restaurant. We had the ham, spinach and brie crepes which came with two crepes - definitely enough to share, followed by strawberry, sliced banana, and Nutella crepes with whipped cream. It was our last meal in Montreal, and we were delighted to get some perfect crepes. The waiter was especially nice and accommodating. Not only did he speak fluent English but he allowed us to pay part of our bill with our remaining Canadian money and to charge the rest. The bathroom was down several stairs, so it is not handicap accessible.

Chez Suzette is the perfect cozy casual fare on a winter day. Service is laid back and nice and the food came out quickly. My friend and I shared a French Onion Soup and each ordered a crepe for ourselves. The french onion soup was classic and tasted great with the crepes. My Laurentienne crepe was nice and warm with gooey bechamel sauce and melted swiss on a soft crepe of ham and asparagus. The Parisienne crepe was also good with a lot of apples and brie. It seems like this place gets packed because there are multiple floors but when my friend and I came on a January afternoon, it wasn't too packed. Regardless, Chez Suzette is a great casual place to get your crepe fix if you're in the area.

Great location. This restaurant is situated at the heart of old Montreal and we enjoyed the scenery sitting at the patio to see tourist walking by. We ordered French onion soup, beef fondue and crepe Suzette for dessert. Crepe Suzette was one of my favourite desserts and they made it exactly how I liked it with a hint of alcohol taste. To our surprise the fondue comes with several plates of sliced beef so it could be quite filling. Good place to sit down and enjoy old Montreal for a relaxing lunch.

If you're in the mood for fondue, this is the place in Montreal. The food, including sandwiches and crepe, is also very good. The cheese fondue was very tasty and served with bread and you can add vegetables as well. The chocolate fondue is always a big hit. There are three seating levels, but they do take reservations in case you want to make sure that you're seated quickly. Service can be hit or miss.

Located in the heart of Old Montreal on Rue Saint Paul jus a 3 minute walk from Notre Dame Basilica, Chez Suzette features well known French crepes. quiches and French onion soup, as well, other French favorites. I stopped by in the late afternoon for a sweet crepe dish and a cup of coffee. The restaurant has a 130 seating capacity which is distributed in an upstairs and main floor multiple dining room areas. I got a window seating area overlooking Rue Saint Paul. There is also an outside patio seating area during warmer weather. Overall, the restaurant seems dated and reminiscent of days gone by which I think is a plus. It was about 3pm and the crowds were light. Seating was prompt and the wait staff was efficient. The menu was expansive and there were options from Italian to Swiss fondue but I was interested in French crepes. They offer both sweet and savory crepes. I choose the La Rougement ($17.99). Prices are on the upper end here but the quality is apparent. When I cut my crepe with the side of my fork, it should cut easily and it did. I also like my crepes to be hot when presented. La Rougement consists of apple, cinnamon, ice cream and a sprinkling of almonds. I also got a latte ($6.50) which I thought was overpriced. I got what I came for, a delicious crepe and atmosphere.

So I figured if I went out to place that specializes in cooking it it would be great but that wasn't the case. I went here on a Thursday which happened to be ladies night which meant that for 24$ there's was a fixed menu with a salad or soup starter a fondue and coffee or tea. The price was very reasonable and I liked that the fondu that came with it was a mix of chicken beef and shrimp. Where the problems first started for me were at the amount of time it took to order revive water and wait time between courses it took close to 3 hours from the time we walked in to the time we paid for the bill. I found myself starving between my salad and the actual fondu, and when I had to ask the waiter for more dipping sauce it didn't actually get to me until the meal was over. The actual proteins themselves for okay at best the broth itself lacked in flavour and I've had better stuff at home in my living room. The highlights of the meal were the starters and the side of potatoes that came with the meal For the price of the food and the wait time you have a lot of other better options :/

La Fonderie is compact resto, so space can be precious but it's pretty decor makes up for it... so ultimately they've managed to to create an intimate environment that are great for dates as well as group outings. At the end of the meal, I'd definitely lean more on the group thing. Their menu was a bit difficult to fully comprehend so we asked the waiter for our options, he expertly and very nicely given us some great options. He probably gets this A LOT. I ultimately went with their "Maitre-Boucher" "Feast meal" which consisted of a : 1. Entrée of Swiss Cheese Fondue 2. House or Caesar Salad with their Famous Toasted Garlic Bread (I went with Caesar!) 3. Chinese or Bourguignonne Fondue of your Choice (I went with Chinese! With Filet Mignon of Beef, Chicken Breast, Filet of Porc and Marinated Lamb!) 4. Choice of Dessert or Dessert-Coffee (I went with their Fruits!) 5. Regular Coffee or Tea or Herb Tea (I went with Regular Coffee!) The Swiss cheese fondue was very good, the bread that came it was addicting to say the least. I'm glad to report that no cheese remained and we had to push away those evil bread bites as far from us as possible. The Caesar salad was only OK, the salad was alright but the dressing was flavorless and watery. The Garlic Bread was ONCE AGAIN there to entice me. WHY MUST YOU TASTE SO GOOD BREAD? WHY?! SHOO! The meat was served in 2 beautiful platters with a nice variety of sauces that you can dip them in. I really liked this experience but as we ate it seemed to drag on. This might be more enjoyable with a group of people who can chat profusely while the meat cooks slowly in the bouillon/fondue. The meats were fresh, looked great and tasted amazing. The variety of sauces were good and refills were easy to get. My fondue dessert consisted of a few fruits like bananas, pineapples, strawberries and the such in a small pot of delicious chocolate. I believe I found a new love of bananas in hot chocolate. OH MAMA! The regular coffee was upgrade to a cappuccino and it was good. Our waiter was friendly and very attentive to us, I believe when we told him we were on a date night while our daughter was back home being babysat he went out of his way to be very accommodating. Nothing but praise here folks! The price-tag is pretty expensive, so this may not be something I'd do very often unless it's for a special event. I'd recommend to try this place at least once. A few bad notes. We waited 15 minutes when we came in, we had reservations but no one was manning the hostess desk. So our table sat unattended all this time. Oh and another note, the parking was difficult to find say the least. I had to make a spot with my SUV at the far end of the parking lot.

They also had a high chair for our baby! One of the only places in Montreal with a high chair!!! So thank you for that. Mains: Squid Ink risotto - 7/10 - this was a bit too salty for me. Was just ok. Duck in a can - 8/10 - one of their most popular dishes. The presentation is top notch. Great flavor and texture. Side: we got some fries for our baby 10/10 - nothing better than gourmet fries! Dessert: Pounding Chomeur- 10/10 - this was phenomenal. Chomeur is what they call a "poor man's pudding" it's like a cake batter with ice cream on top. Def recommend. Service - 12/10. I mean, they were remarkable! Our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. The whole staff made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly. Everyone was outstanding. Honorable mention - as a parent it's hard to dine with a baby, and there was no area to change him. The restrooms are not kid-friendly. The menu is limited, but I appreciate the focus. They know what they do well and aren't afraid of perfecting it. We ordered the fraisier cocktail (vodka with aperol and strawberry sorbet on top) and the Mexican mojito (got a kick in the bottom of your throat spicy). Both really good and didn't skimp on the alcohol. I was very giddy by the time they brought the foie gras nigiri. This is why I wanted to eat here and am so glad they keep it on the menu! One order comes with 4 spoon servings, by the way. Add the soy ginger sauce because it cuts the fattiness just right. Oh là là! Decadent, smooth and buttery. Why don't more places serve foie gras like this? Genius! We got the pork chop, paparadelle pork ragu and a side of the salt and maple sugar fries. All were good, but the foie gras still had them beat. The fries had nice flavor, but we were really disappointed that we got the tail end of the fry basket. The bottom and middle of our order was all the broken bits. I felt a bit deceived. We got the pudding chomeur that people said was a classic dessert with a scoop of ice cream. It honestly was too sickly sweet. It's basically cake doused in a pool of maple sugar. So, if you love sweet sweet desserts, then the pudding is for you. We really should have ordered another foie gras for dessert. Do it for me when you go. I would come back for the cocktails and foie gras.
