Chocolate fondue with fresh fruits and sweets.
    Winema P.

Very fun experience. It was our family's first time dining at a fondue restaurant. We were very pleased with our experience and the service was great! The price for the cheese fondue was more pricy than we would've expected. The melted cheese raclette was 20$ and the sampling chinoise was 23$ (only a 3$ difference for an entree compared to a cheese appetizer). If you're looking to save a few bucks, then it would be best to skip the cheese fondue and go straight for the entree options. The gimlet cocktail was very nice and refreshing. The chocolate fondue with fresh fruits was very tasty and a perfect way to end our meal.

Second, the food was very very good: onion soup, filet mignon (was cooked to perfection for me), crème brulée... it was all great. Others had mussles (they have many many types), beef cheek. On top, they had a Table d'hôte and a 5 à 7 menus that made it not as expensive as if you order everything à la carte. I will return, for sure!

I should preface this review by pointing out that I come here every January 1st for a big family…read moregathering. Thus, I have given this 3 stars because while I like the place, I'm not sure if they might potentially merit more than three stars. Since the restaurant is closed for our private gathering, we have a fixed menu - it's possible that their regular a la carte menu deserves a higher rating. Location: On the North Shore, about 10-minutes from Laval and 20-25 minutes from downtown. Service: Considering that we are always a very large group, the service is pretty good. I think they could potentially have 1-2 more waiters on hand, however the restaurant runs two private functions - one upstairs and one downstairs, so I'm guessing they split their limited staff to cater to both parties. Food: The last few years have seen the exact same menu items on the list, and I had grown so incredibly bored of these that I wasn't really looking forward to this year's event. Well the laugh was on me because they revamped our menu entirely. Here's what I had: Salad: This was your average, run-of-the-mill salad. Leaves but no veggies besides some shredded carrot. Very low on the vinaigrette. That said, the salad was fresh. It just could've used a little sprucing up. Escargots: I chose this as my 2nd course and despite the cream-based sauce, the snails were surprisingly good. They were fat and tender - not at all dry or shriveled up. Had I been paying attention when the wait staff explained the menu items, I would be able to tell you what kind of cream the escargots were bathing in - but sadly, I was not. The dish was very good, though there was more sauce than snails. A few more would have been good. Main: I opted for chicken stuffed with prosciutto in a basil sauce, accompanied by veggies and potatoes. Here's the thing: the chicken was AMAZING. It was tender and no knife was needed - I just used my fork and that was that. The prosciutto wasn't overpowering so the combination of bird and pork was perfect. The potatoes were a bit dry, so the solution to that would be to add a bit more sauce. The veggies were good. I skipped dessert - I hate white cake with caramel sauce. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and would definitely be interested in checking them out on a regular night to see how they fare. The decor is kind of country-style and rather dark. I like a little more light.

This restaurant could have been a great place to hold a big group party, if it wasn't of the poor…read moreservice we had. INSIDE: The place is spatious and is divided in 2 main sections; the dining room and the bar section. There's also a stage where groups and artists can perform and it turns out into a dance floor. THE FOOD: Very average. They don't have menus for drinks, so if you ask the waiter, he'll tell you they've got everything. But in the end, they just have a limited selection of alcohol. And for the food, i was very disapointed about the variety and quality of the dishes. Our waiter was boasting about the deliciousness of their salmon teriyaki and after we followed his recommandation, he came back and told us they were out of fish! Like, seriously??? How can you hard sell something and not make sure if it's available or if there's enough for to sell??? Instead for 22$, i had very ordinary cannelloni pastas that tasted like Michelina's frozen dinners... Total rip off for something i could have done better. My other friends ordered steaks with veggies (around 30$). For that price range, I would have expected something comparable to Kegs Steakhouse, but I quickly realised I should lower my expectations. :/ SERVICE: Again, very disapointing and even frustrating. The only moment we were offered quick service was when the waiter was taking our drinks order. Other than that, it took more than an hour after we ordered to get our plates. When I got mine, the waiter was almost throwing my dish at me because it was too hot to hold, but when I touched it, it was barely warm. There was no water refill, and the waiter's attitude was rude and very unprofessional. He never apologized for all the mistakes. I can understand a restaurant can get really busy and that managing many big groups isn't easy. But that was the worst service I ever got so far in town. I wouldn't recommand that place at all. Never ever. NOOO.

They have wonderful little booths that were red couches I really wanted to sit there as it looked very cozzy but the hostess informed me it was for people who reserved ahead of time... ( I was there 2 hours nobody was seated in those booths not one person) they have a great huge outdoor space but since it was to cold still wasn't open. There was a bday party in the bar section, so many people that were blocking the way to the bathroom over 30 they did not care at all it was like pushing through a packed escalator. They should have been seated or out the way it was to much. Service wasn't the greatest I had about 6-7 different People coming To our table so it got a bit confusing as to who was our waitress. The drink specials didn't include the peachtini which sucked because that was the first drink we ordered. Then after hearing that rum, gin, vodka all rail booze was on sale I decided to get jack and coke only to realize it wasn't part of the deal... I had to ask and she knew I thought it was part of the deal so a bit sneaky but I switched to rum after. Always nice to have that happen when you're out spending with your friends. Also noticed out waitress was drinking with a table with two men not sure if that was the owner but not cool if I'm trying to get your attention to switch an order or ask for a glass of water! Food was good, my fondue wasn't anything out of this world because the bread was way to fresh and soft, usually with fondue you would use harder bread or even cracker like toast chips so it would Go well together. I added pepper to bring it all together. My chicken salad was interesting... the chicken I thought was gonna be a breast with skin and crispy but it was a breast just a regular breast no spices. The salad was good it's self. I tried the bavette it was great the sauce they used and veggies were cooked well. Calamari was greasy a bit with barely any calamari. I would come back I loved the place it's self. Service needs to be worked on, staff needs to be better trained. Menu princes are a bit ridiculous for what it is, it's so far out of town, I thought it would be cheaper.I saved a big -17.90 off my bill of over 200 something. They need to put a drink menu with what's on sale that way you don't get tricked and have to spend more like we did. Other then that it's a great spot check it out.

When we arrived there (around 7pm) there was a pretty long line of people waiting to be seated both inside and on the patio. We were told by a waitress that our wait time would be approximately 50 minutes, to which we replied that we were fine with waiting. While waiting, we noticed that service was very slow- some groups were seated for 10-15 minutes before getting water and ordering. Some parties also waited a long time before getting their bill- I heard one group tell their waitress that they had been done eating for 25 minutes and were going to dine and dash if they didn't get their bill in the next 5! After waiting for about 45 minutes a very frantic waitress told the party that was waiting right behind us that they would no longer be able to get in- and basically turned them away, even though the restaurant was still open until 9PM! Another waitress kept coming to see us while we were in line to tell us that we should leave because they only had 4 waiters that night. However, I could count at least 10 waiters taking orders... very strange! We ended up waiting one hour before being seated and one seated service actually went pretty well. Our weather was very nice, he took our order very quickly, and the food came out within 10 minutes. Our desserts were very good. We were seated by 8pm, and most tables on the patio were vacant. Despite this, the waitresses told every person who showed up that they were already closed (one hour early!) Honestly, it was a mess! I would go back to a Juliette et Chocolat, but just not this location.

I've never heard of CF until Em. She, being the dessert lover that she is, told me I needed to try it. Seems like there's a soft serve chocolate dip battle going on between La Diperie and Chocolats Favoris. There's five sizes to choose from (baby, mini, small, medium and large) and four soft serve flavours (vanilla, chocolate, orange and strawberry). The chocolate one you can't dip but the other three are fine. There were a dozen chocolate dip flavours. Let the indecisiveness begin. It's nice that you can sample the dip flavours before you commit. There's also the éclatée option ($1.49 - $1.99 extra) where they add extra toppings. If soft serve doesn't tickle your fancy, they have gelato and sorbet as well as fancy artisanal chocolates. You can even buy their fondues to go in small tin cans. - Strawberry with melting hazelnut dip ($4.59 small) - nice that they have other flavours besides the typical vanilla. The melting hazelnut (milk chocolate) was just what I wanted. I found their chocolate dippy be much stronger and thicker than La Diperie's. No ice cream managed to squeeze through the chocolate dip fortress. - Orange with crunchy hazelnut ($4.59) - this was much darker and richer hazelnut flavour compared to mine. - Vanilla with cookie dough dip ($4.59 small) - I didn't try but A liked it. Although, he still prefers his go to combo of vanilla with cookies and cream. Solid dessert chain (that reminds me of Juliat & Chocolat).

Well known for their many different chocolate dippings. Great variety, however, way too sweet!read more
