The French toast! The one with the caramel is the dish to get at this place! I also loved my croissant with cheese on it. The coffee was delicious as well. The dishes are unique and everyone liked theirs. The servers were very kind with our large group. The place was very cute

Intimate, romantic attractive brunch place for those that 'lunch' . Came for Saturday brunch, packed room. Had pulled pork with English muffins+french fries cooked duck confit, salmon tartare, oysters from New Brunswick with vinaigrette sauce. Also had Bloody Caesar drink with gin. Delish! Complex but satisfying meal, while it was right portions it still knocked us out. Would recommend to those looking for foodie brunch experience in Montreal.

Excellent! My GF and I ordered from the sort of three-course menu. I got a wonderful cold soup with leek, some salmon tartare with fries, and a piece of the most decadent French toast I've ever had. Everything was unreal, and our waiter was great. Love it, I'll be back!!

Stopped by this restaurant while in Montreal. We were seated outside, which was not our preference but proved to be a good experience. The service was timely and the staff offered us recommendations because everything on the menu seemed intriguing. My recommendation is the French toast. What a delightful dish. Everything dish we tried was delicious. One point to be aware of is they change their menu every two weeks. We sat outside and it was comfortable and allowed us to enjoy the sights of the area. Definitely will be back when visiting Montreal in the future.

Excellent French Canadian foodie spot. Creative and tasty dishes with a beautiful presentation. So busy, it's super loud in the restaurant. Our waiter and serve staff were all warm and friendly too. Definitely worth coming back.

I'm giving a VERY begrudging 4 stars but it wasn't the best experience overall. We had a reservation for 8PM and decided to sit at the bar. Nice vibe, nice guy doing drinks for the restaurant and serving us. Everyone there was nice in fact. Got our drinks and shortly after we each order one of the 3 course menus they were offering. We sit and sip our drinks for prob 30 min and here comes some bread and dip. Why did that come 40 min after we sat down? I assumed this was a no bread place. Then it was prob another 30 for the app. It was a raclette type dish and tasty but this was getting ridiculous and no updates from anyone. My friend asked if the mains would be coming at the 90 min mark and we were finally told that things were screwed up cuz they weren't used to this menu. Or something like that. My quail dish was good but now I'm just pissed that we've been there almost 2 hrs so I asked for dessert to be packed up. They should have given us our wines for free rather than offering a little after dinner drink which I wasn't in the mood for. It also made me late for my next destination so I just bagged it cuz of this excruciatingly long experience. So I think I normally would have liked La Fabrique but it left a sour taste on our last nite in Montreal.

Walked in on a Sunday morning around 10:30am and it was already busy and had some tables reserved. We did not have a reservation but they were able to squeeze us in for an hour time slot if we ordered right away. The food took a little longer than expected but we were able to finish within the hour. The food was creative and delicious. I had the pancakes which were fluffy but a little dry even with the sauce and perfectly runny egg. They probably just needed syrup. The bacon was really just a chunk of ham (I should have expected this being in Canada) but it was flavorful and added the much needed salty bite. The duck fat fries, tartare, pulled pork, desserts were good as well. Did not try the salmon but my friend cleaned his plate. The desserts were larger than expected. My grapefruit cider mimosa was delicious.

Today is the last day in Montreal, we tried La Fabrique for the famous pancake with boiled egg and pork belly, and homemade cranberry muffin with pulled pork and cheese. The muffin is very good, it is even than better than I expected. For the signature apple syrup pancake with pork belly, it is a very delicious. I cannot imagine how the fatty pork belly mix with pancake until I put it together in my mouth. It has definitely a WOW factor! I must say to anyone who visit Montreal must try this brunch!

We came with a large group with reservations for a weekend brunch. We got the pancakes with apple purée for the table and we personally tried the grilled pork shoulder with eggs, beans, squash and lentils, and the Cajun chicken toast. The pancake was fluffy and the apple was lovely but wish they used a more sharp cheese to add complexity and greater salty contrast to the apple and maple syrup. The grilled pork shoulder was excellent with a thick tender slab of pork, a sweet and nutty acorn squash gratin with a well cooked egg. The Cajun chicken toast wasn't exactly what I expected--its a chicken salad on toast. I found this to be the most mediocre. It lacked Cajun seasoning and was mixed with a spicy mayonnaise but I didn't get any spice at all. I'm personally not a big fan of wedge cut lettuce since it makes for a strange eating experience, especially when served on a small plate. The apple vinegarette was otherwise well balanced. Service was really friendly and knowledgeable. Our other friends really loved the beef tartare which I had a taste of and enjoyed. But everyone at the table had to ask for an extra piece of bread (and was charged for it). I would suggest that should be an indication to the kitchen that their portion is not balanced and should provide 2 pieces of bread at a minimum.

Wow! Might be one of the best restaurants I've been to. Everything was strong from start to finish from the food to service. We started with 1/2 dozen oysters and the beef tartare. Beef tartare was one of the best I've ever had. Very well balanced and flavourful and not overpowered by one specific flavour. In between starters and mains, we got toasted bread with some whipped butter spread with chives and shallots (?) and it was amazing. Mains we got the beef shoulder and the pulled pork burger. The beef shoulder was so tender it was like biting into a cloud. The pulled pork burger was so juicy and flavourful. The worst part of the meal was the duck fat fries that came with the burger, which I could have gone without.

Came here for the famous pancakes that comes with soft boiled egg, and Canadian bacon. And we were not disappointed . it tasted very good and very filling. Definitely on the sweet side We also ordered latte and beef tartare. Really liked the way they made the beef tartare. The beef tasted very smooth with the perfect balance of fruit chunks inside. Truly enjoyed the atmospheres of this restaurant . From the lighting to setting and decorations, I felt very warm and comfortable. Service was great very attentive. definitely recommend .

As a carnivore, La Fabrique was a good place to bring your herbivore friends and everybody is happy. Food preparation was the strongest point with amazing flavors and good presentation at this price point. Wine list was good, if not relatively expensive. Service was friendly, but pace was slow. We were very politely informed we had an 1:30 minutes to eat it and beat it. However, we had just received our mains at 1:30, so you should just ignore it. Soup de jour was amazing and our best dish was the salmon tartare. This place would be ideal for all omnivores. Can't wait to go back and try the spreads. Might even just skip mains and get numerous appetizers so I can save room for dessert.

We had a reservation for 2:15 when's he restaurant was listed to close 2:30. Called ahead to make sure it wouldn't be a problem, and they said it's fine. When we got there, they did not rush us in the slightest and even offered us desert once we finished entrees around 3:00. The service, from host to waitress, is excellent. I love mayo and our waitress suggested it added to our fries without even my suggesting of it. I came for the pancakes but enjoyed the steak tartare, naan bread, thick cut bacon, and the sous vide egg the most. The pancakes were not as soft as I would have wanted, and wish the cheese was sharper / saltier. But presentation for this and the other dishes is A+. The swordfish was very tender. The ambiance and vibe feel cozy. Sit outside if the weather is right.

BEST "BYOB" FRENCH BISTRO DURING RECENT TRIP…read more This is the best dining experience in our recent Montreal trip. I'm glad we made reservation since the place was quite packed when we arrived. To be honest, our first impression wasn't too great. We were seated in their main indoor dining area which was a bit too warm. We asked if we can be moved to their fully covered / heated patio area, but unfortunately the restaurant was full. Fast forward 15 minutes, we have placed our order and were enjoying our bottle of wine and a basket of bread. Our server came over and offered to move us to the patio area since a table had opened up. We were pleasantly surprised because (1) we didn't ask again and (2) most restaurants wouldn't change tables once customers started eating/drinking. The restaurant setting is unpretentious with a casual and cozy vibes. The staff are so friendly that we feel like having a family dinner! They offer a pre-fixe menu in which we thoroughly enjoyed! For appetizers, the escargot dish gave us a pleasant surprise. They wrapped the escargots and blue cheese sauce in a thin crispy crust! It's hard to describe, but it's sort of like having an escargot "crepe"! The few main courses we chose were excellent, and the rack of lamb was probably our favorite - tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. As for dessert, their creme brulee was one of the best I've had - creamy custard topped with a perfect, crisp caramel top. I'd highly recommend this place, and will certainly visit again when I'm in town next time!

The only thing I did not like about this dish was how quickly we ate it! Dessert (not pictured): 5/5. We had a chocolate pyramid with hazelnuts and chocolate mousse. Delicious. Be sure to put Modavie on your Montreal dining list!

It's a pretty good restaurant in the middle of Old Montreal. Decor is nice and services is…read moreattentive. I can't speak French so I appreciate the Englishmen menu. I do recommend making a reservation on open table prior to coming. Here is what I think of the food: Seasoning is generally saltier but not too overly. Escargot or the snails is yummy. It comes with the option of cheese on top. Dressed heavy with olive oil and garlic. They remove the shell so it makes it approachable if you were nervous about trying. Cheese & Charcuterie board is as what you imagined. It can't go wrong. Rack of Lamb was good. I do recommend highly. It comes with our 4-5 bones worth of protein with potatoes & veggies. Lost track of how many bones because it was eaten so fast. Duck confit was average. Let me explain, duck was average but the amount of spinach I gotten and how potatoes on the plate was good. Sides out shine the protein here. Side of Foie Gras was perfect because I was worried about having too much food. It did come on a small plate because it's a side dish and it was fatty and salty. Intermission was the best cocktail of the night. Fruity with a star anise on top so you smell it while drinking it because it was so close to your nose. Jazz District was okay. Overall, I do think this restaurant site fairly between 4&5 stars. Do try it. I would come back for special occasions and it's not an every night meal.
