Always good food & service! The owner is very friendly & accommodating! I especially love their scallops!

La Fleur's was a no frills restaurant. The menu was a single page, the waitress was outgoing and present and the food was deliciously edible. The breakfast options at t this place were directly and to the point. The food was served hot, and the coffee was caffeinated. If you're looking for a gourmet breakfast... this isn't the place for you. You want eggs to order, some of those eggs him pancakes and some delicious bacon.... Make a trip to this restaurant!! read more

Well every review i read was positive.. I must of went on off night because my experience was not good.. went for 1st time.. took 10 to 15 minutes for anyone to come over once seated.. never been to a buffet besides a wedding where they serve you.. slow service . Quarter of what was said to be available was not there. Warmest thing all night was the soda.. smallest tasteless clams ever had. Lobster ravioli was cold lacking the lobster drown in sauce. Baked stuff haddock was stuffed with air.. seafood chowder had a good taste but cold... what was supposed to be ribeye tasted like tv dinner meat and also cold. Took forever to get our soda and never came back for refill.. guess a local yoko place where they are use to below average service and cold food.. 60 dollars for honestly 10 dollars worth of quantity and quality.. locals can have it... we will stick to longhorns texas roadhouse or olive garden. Totally disappointed . . read more

Food and Service is great. Wednesday Hamburger special night is a favorite for many. One of few restaurants that is open on Mondays when most are closed. I've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner there quite a few times and I've always been pleased and left with a full tummy. read more

Went for breakfast. Small town feel, kind down to earth staff. We ordered an omelet, kielbasa and eggs, blueberry pancake. Everything was delicious! Lots of yummy fresh veggies in the omelet cooked to perfection. Not typically a home fries fan, but these were fantastic. No skins cooked to a perfect crispiness. Highly recommend!! Thank you for a wonderful breakfast! read more

First off, we are new to Maine via kalifornia. We haven't quite gotten used to everything closing at 8-9 pm. We spent the last month here working on our home and after a late night of working decided to get some food. We missed out on the closer one and drove down the road looking for anything open. Walked in La Fleur's at about 2 till 8. We were starving and were met by Brenda, Kathryn, and the owner who welcomed us in. A++ for even seating us at the end of the night. They treated us like we were at the beginning of their shift. No rush-rush or attitude. We ordered what we wanted. No end of shift restrictions. Food was fresh, hot and delicious! Everyone made small talk while finishing their end of night chores. By the way, the place is clean and nice. We made sure we tipped well for their OUTSTANDING service. You would never get that where we came from. I didn't catch the owners name but thanks to him for waving us in as the last customers were leaving. That kind of friendliness puts this place as our new number one place to eat out here. Thanks to all of you. read more

I heard many good things from residents of Livermore, Livermore Falls and Jay. I decided to try Lafleur's the day the whole hostage situation occurred in Livermore Falls and I was asked to leave my home till it was resolved. Before I review their menu and food quality I do have to give big praise to their staff. The waitresses are extremely friendly and a few of them have been working their for one or more decades. If you prefer staff over food, definitely stop here. I don't know if it is because I went at lunch time, but I was not impressed with the food. They don't run your typical local restaurant style menu with multiple selections. They change the menu multiple times and only offer a select number of options between appetizers, entrees and desserts. The decor has a country home town feel to it and they have a wood stove that makes for some nice heat in the winter time. I had the BLT sandwich with a side of fries. The fries you could tell were the frozen kind tossed in the fryer, but cooked to a nice golden crisp. I like a nice crunch on my fries with a soft interior. The BLT had all the flavors of a good sandwich, but I was very underwhelmed with the amount of the ingredients used. I had maybe 1.5 full slices of small pieces of bacon, one large folded over piece of lettuce and a couple tomatoes that were small in size. If you are going to make a BLT, give me more bacon and tomatoes to make it feel like a BLT and not a sandwich I could go make at home. I want a restaurant to put the effort into their food that is beyond the effort I would put into a home cooked meal, otherwise I will go buy the ingredients myself and make it at home. The coleslaw that came with it tasted store bought. At least the cabbage seemed like it was from a bag and then they poured a bottled sauced onto it. Had little flavor and required salt and pepper to bring the flavors out. Again, it may have been the chef that day or maybe its because most go for the dinner menu, but I was not impressed with the quantity or quality of the food offered this day especially for the price they ask for. If you are going use a custom menu and keep to a certain number of options, you best use the freshest of ingredients and the higher quality ones that provide flavor and the uniqueness to the menu. I'll give this place one more shot with the Dinner menu, but first impression, I was not impressed. read more

If you want your time wasted go here. 5 people eating in the restaurant and we were 1 hour and 15 mins getting out take out. We checked it before we left and it was missing a meal that we had to wait for again while everything else got soggy. We were there an hour and 40 mins standing around. They are pretty overpriced for the tiny portions as well. We also witnessed an elderly couple get up and leave because they were tired of waiting. More staff then customers and they still don't have it together. read more

I've lived in Franklin county my entire life, and been visiting Lafleur's since I was a child. I could recall a million terrible experiences while dining here, including the one that has finally topped the cake for me. *I'll start with my experience this past summer of 2021. There are 4 of us at a table, and two other tables in the restaurant. The menu is still COVID small, mostly seafood. One in our party was pregnant, so it's either steak or chicken tenders with a side. We all decided we wanted a side of pasta salad, in which the waitress legitimately told us to "steer clear of the pasta salad" before we even mentioned we were considering it..... why would you tell your customers you have rancid food, or better yet, still be serving it if you wouldn't eat it. While we are deciding where else to go, the one woman in there for staff, is on the phone calling someone for help as more cars are pulling in. Absolute mess. We left for Chuck Wagon. *My most recent experience this past Monday: We make a reservation for 6 ahead of time, as this is one of the 3 restaurants within 30 miles open on a Monday. My friend and I show up as the last two in the party. Everyone else has their drinks. A host comes over to ask us for drinks. I ask if they have a drink menu, and without even getting and answer the host goes "I will absolutely need to see your ID". Okay, no problem. As I'm getting my wallet the host again goes "I'd love to know how old you actually are". I go "23 and a bartender", to which she FOR REAL REPLIES "I don't care what you do". Real classy, and really makes me want to tip you . SO, she's checking my ID and my friend's ID, and is legitimately asking me why mine looks different than hers (mine is brand new, not intended for federal purposes). As a bartender I know why my ID looks different, why is this woman clueless and not up to date on checking identification. After being harassed, we get our drinks, and continue to enjoy the inconsistent, condescending evening. *Last but not least, the best for last. I'll let the photo evidence show you how yummy my soup to go was: read more

Had a delightful breakfast here at Lafleur's. The service is friendly and efficien. We each had a specia:l mine was eggs benedict which was served very very nicely, a nice fresh omelette was delightful and the corned beef hash was very good. Been hearing how wonderful the seafood buffet is and hadn't had a chance to check it out. The opportunity to have dinner on new years came up and we jumped at the chance to try out the seafood buffet along with prime rib and a few other extras for the holiday. What an absolute disappointment. They had a wilted salad with an unidentifiable dressing, mini crab cakes, and wing dings to start. The mini crab cakes were tasty but small and the wings were good but anyone can drop a frozen wing in the fryer. Very basic stuff. We had a reservation for 730pm and we were too late for the prime rib- which come to find out wasn't prime rib but a roast. Either way- we, along with a bunch of tables, didn't get to try it. They also ran out of the pork roast. A few basic seafood and chicken options were available as well as sides. The service was friendly and there was an attempt to replace the missing beef option with a grisly, thinly cut rib eye that lacked flavor. Running out of anything on a buffet that you are charging $37 per plate is unacceptable. Especially when reservations were required and you know exactly how many people you are feeding. Always better to have too much than to run out. Anything leftover can easily be used in one format or another the next day or so. It saddens me to say that we will not likely go back- especially if the buffet is the only option. read more

When did City prices come to Jay, Maine? Had a late Sunday lunch here and it left much to be desired. I was surprised by the prices on the menu first. Some of the selections were family sized, but my special steak tips were half sized. It came flooded with gravy and I sent it back and only half the meal came back out. We had arrived in Jay a bit later and we were eating in the 2 pm time frame and we felt rushed out of the restaurant. A slow eating elderly member of our party was, I guess, taking too long. We will be looking for another location for our next visit. read more

Disgusting. Super disappointed in the food. Got little neck slams and a big salad. Clams tasted very old and the lettuce was wilted and brown. There was also a giant black hair in my salad. Service was good. Friendly staff. read more

I do not normally write glowing reviews, but I have never been disappointed by Lafleur's. Food is great DownEast cooking expertly prepared. This is a place my grandparents would have loved. Very traditional food, no frills. It's a beef/fish/chicken type of place... with potatoes and a dinner salad on the side. Although well-prepared, the food is a bit too plain for me. I do love the french fries, however. The waitstaff is always super nice and the chef/owner usually comes out to greet the diners. Big selection of homemade pies for dessert! read more

I love this restaurant! The owners and waitstaff have always made me feel at home. One time, I came in for breakfast a few days in a row, and by the second day they knew how I liked my coffee and brought it right to me . The menu is familiar, yet inventive, with dishes ranging from Fish and Chips to Maple Seared Scallops. Whether you go with a classic or not, everything is cooked to perfection. They use fresh Maine seafood, Maine Maple Syrup, and seasonal produce. For the best meal there, I recommend the monthly all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. I like the family-friendly atmosphere, and how the owner will regularly take time to sit down with customers interested in catering for various events. Overall, 5 stars! read more

The waitress was rude to ALL of the five tables. I was aghast. People at the other tables were in disbelief and discussing her snarkiness and admonishments the entire time. She actually said things like "If you're not ready to order I have other tables I can go to" and when asked for a suggestion said "well I don't know what you like to eat it's up to you" I can't believe how she was speaking to people. What was funny and annoying at the same time was that the waitress snapped on a fake nice demeanor as soon as she delivered the check. It was like a light switch and so obvious that she realized it was tip time. The younger hostess was an absolute pleasure though. She was sweet and I wonder if she was trying to make up for the ridiculousness of the waitress. At least the food was great. Kudos to the cook. read more

Extremely dissapointed. It takes a lot for me to write a review or put down a restaurant, but i felt others should be warned of the high prices for super low quality food. The place has a look and feel of a diner/family restaurant with its paper placements with advertisements, paper napkins, and cheap silverware. Then you look at the menu and you are transformed into what looks like a menu from a high end restaurant with $18.00 FRIED seafood platters. My recommendation to you Lafleurs: Match your restuarant with your prices and TRAIN OR GET A NEW CHEF. (awful presentation and all 5 of us were dissapointed with the taste and quality.) read more

Warning! Do not book your function with Lefleurs Restaurant in Jay, Maine. My family booked Lefleurs banquet room including a buffet meal for 5pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018 following a burial ceremony. We had a group of 45 people ages 4 months through 105 years old. While some of our group is local, most travelled hundreds and even thousands of miles to attend this event. We arrived at the restaurant at 5pm to find that the room we had booked months in advance was occupied by another group. We were informed that the other group which had booked the room for earlier in the day had decided to change the time of their event, so our reservation was cancelled without notice. We were seated in the regular dining room with other patrons and our group was split up. We were unable to visit with one another or view the memorial photo presentation of our loved one as planned. The buffet menu we had planned was not available to us. We were eventually offered a limited menu and were not served dinner until 7pm. I ordered a steak and scallop meal that was offered. The salad that came with my meal was wilted and not suitable to be served. There were 3 breaded scallops, and a steak which was mediocre at best. I must add that the waitstaff did their best to accommodate our group and scrambled all evening to make sure that we were served something at least. The owner was unapologetic, leaving his staff to deal with the mess he created by intentionally not honoring our reservation which was done months in advance via multiple phone calls and an in person meeting with him in May to choose a menu for our event. As a local and long time patron of this restaurant, I am disappointed and disgusted by his behavior, poor customer service, and treatment of his staff and will no longer support this local restaurant. read more
