My wife and I were in Maine for a funeral in West Gardiner so we decided to stop by for lunch. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan who was very down to earth and approachable. Knowing he was from West Gardiner we told him about out 100 year old aunt who hailed from there. He was very sympathetic. Lunch was very good, Rusty Ryan and the Ashley effect are recommended. Only let down was that my wife was hoping to find a shirt or hoodie with Ashley's saying "Call the Guys" on it. read more

Not very impressed at all. The food was MEH and way overpriced for what you get. I ordered a burger that was supposed to have bacon that did not have any on there at all.They serve some strange variation of fried potatoes too. We are big fans of the TV show Maine Cabin masters and I feel like they have this just because. You order at the bar and the service was good. We got a variety of food (which is very limited menu). I live local & I've been there a few times. Food, service, ambiance & facility are not anything to brag about. People are obviously drawn to them by their TV show popularity. Foodservice is definitely not their forte. I'll stop in for a beer but I'll never eat there again. read more

My husband and I really enjoy their show and had heard about the Woodshed but we had stopped eating out due to too many people this spring/summer not understanding state and federal laws regarding service dogs (which I have for medical alert and PTSD) and the endless negative experiences (which can be incredibly triggering causing medical issues). We figured we'd stop by, if anyone started yelling - we'd just leave.... The experience is the best I've ever had. I also bring a water dish with us if we are eating outside and order an extra water for my hard worker. As we picked out a shady table to keep her cool when she tucks under, we noticed someone behind us with a dog bowl full of water I teared up a little when I noticed it was for us! We enjoyed our food, yes it is a touch pricey but it was worth it. We are already planning another trip and will be taking our in-laws when they visit. We have to see when they have music playing because they have a nice looking stage! read more

We planned a trip to Maine so we could see a few of the places that were featured on the show. The food was not good, service was good and the ambiance was excellent. We loved the music and the outdoor setup was great for our dog. I think if you want to say thank you to your fans you shouldn't overprice the food and drink. You should have episodes playing on a tv in the bar area. read more

You know, my friends warned me... I didn't listen. I spent $93 on two drinks, overly cooked/dry/cold nachos, and one small lobster roll. My husband thought the lobster roll was very good, so that's something. But I would never eat here again. One positive note - the staff really busts their asses keeping things clean and serving people. Go for the drinks, not the food. read more

I guess this place is connected to the show Maine Cabin Masters, which I have never seen, but my companion was a HUGE fan. The TV show connected gift shop had some pretty nice stuff, but my friend wanted to stay and grab some lunch outside at the Woodshed. On the day we were there, you could only eat outside and had to order at the bar. My friend wanted to treat. I ordered a bowl of chowder and a diet coke and it was $17!!! The bowl was in a smallish paper cup and was not even fully heated through. Ugh! I am assuming that people are willing to put up with a lot here due to being fans of the show and on some level, I understand that, but for me, The Woodshed is a no-go. read more

The worst food we tried it in our life. the beer is ok but do not order any food!! I think we got food poisoning just only trying a few bites of this food. We stopped by this place, because my husband is a fan of the cabin masters show. I ordered for our four family members the food was uncooked (the wings the quesadillas and the tacos with the chicken ) and the loaded nachos were overcooked. I noticed how the food was prepared very unsanitary, the guy was not using any gloves and when he was preparing the food, he was cleaning his hands on his shirt.. We stopped in here one evening on a cold Friday night the end of October while on vacation. There weren't many folks there when we visited - I'm guessing because it was pretty cold out - as I recall - it was below 32 out. There were maybe a dozen total folks in the outdoor bar area - some of them gathered around the fire cans trying to stay warm. We hung out at the bar and had a couple of Ales - I really enjoyed the Sebago Red Ale - a hoppy red ale! There was a musician up on the stage performing some Irish folk songs on an acoustic guitar. The people at Maine Cabin Masters (MCM) are local icons, and deservedly so. They are really good at what they do and the quality is amazing. Awesome show, and great for Maine. I have been to The Woodshed a few times with friends... That said, The Woodshed is (still) disappointing. Everyone eats outside on picnic tables so it isn't meant to be a fancy eatery, which is fine.. The food is just okay, actually, though being a vegetarian I have only had a few entrees. The friends I was with had mixed reviews. However. The service is really, really disappointing. My veggie wrap came out 20 minutes after the burgers my buddies had (which came a half hour after we ordered), and I never got my ordered side of fries. Total wait time for the meal was 50 minutes and that wasn't even on a busy afternoon. The response to our inquiries about the food was that the sandwiches are made inside and the fries outside next to the bar, and that it was coming soon. Nope.. not so. Honestly guys, I don't think anyone really cares why it is late. Nor where it comes from. Just as long as it is served in a reasonable amount of time and not piecemeal. Bottom line: The experience was expensive for what you get, so I guess I would not suggest going there for your meal unless you don't mind INCREDIBLY SLOW service with a side of excuses for it, and okay food. I don't know what's going on there, but they need to do some work before I will go back. I would have really liked to write a different review..but honestly can't. Went for a late lunch and there was no pulled pork, pastrami or turkey. We settled for pretzels, hot dogs, fries and tacos. The chicken tacos were soggy and the pretzel was good. You can't get tap water with ice. Bottled water is the only option. It would have been nice if the kitchen prepped better before opening in order to have a few more options. read more

While in Maine, we had to make a pilgrimage to the mecca of the Cabin Masters! They've expanded the Woodshed area which accommodates more friendly folks. Good selection of cold beers as well as burgers, sandwiches and now lobster rolls . Servers were friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming and food quality was good for the price. We didn't expect to see Chase or the gang knowing it's the height of the construction season but it would have put icing on our experience. However it was well worth the drive up from Portland. Definitely a place to return to some day. Will keep watching them too read more

I had stopped in after going to Longfellows . I went in the store as I had never been in . They had a menu posted by the restroom . A regular menu and daily specials . So after shopping I stopped in . It was dead. Maybe three people. I walked up to the counter where it took the unhappy looking woman a few mins to come over. I said I'd like to order todays special please. She said there is no specials . I said oh . The store has specials posted she says well we don't have them any more. After looking around I don't think I was missing much when I left. High prices for simple average offerings . Tourist trap . I like the Cabin Masters but they must just come here to drink and not eat lol stop by the store . They have some wicked cool stuff ! read more

Went for lunch today. Had not been there in a couple of years. The new indoor seating area is very blah. You would expect better considering who they are. Service was awful. The woman taking our order was rude and continued to be rude with delivery of our food. One meal came well after the rest of us were done eating....no apology. No salad dressing with our salads despite being asked at the time of order. Plastic utensils so cheap the fork broke in my food. I will not be going back! read more

My wife and I took our retired greyhound here today for a fundraiser to support the Maine Greyhound Placement Service in Augusta. There was great live music, beer and food! This joint needs an updated review! There is now a kitchen and bar, private sheds for safety/coziness, excellent outdoor music on weekends and an oyster shucking station coming soon. A warm friendly atmosphere greets the spring with local modest beer menu. However, my favorite feature is Dr. Dave's chili! He is a local smoker who has created a cloud of delicious meats, cheeses and olives. Didn't even know he made chili which has chunks of tender smoked brisket and a few beans in a tasty blend of spices. Ok, so in these trying times I am limiting posts to only five star reviews and a new place like this that puts so much effort into boosting the quality of life deserves it! read more

Great cabin masters store and food truck park. Great overall experience. Store has a bunch of cool made in Maine items, a bit pricey but worth it. Great dock stage for performances. Food truck area and their own sandwiches etc. We didn't eat there, but did visit the store. If you are a fan of the cabin masters I suggest you go here for sure. read more

Maybe we went on an off day but we were both disappointed. The lady behind the counter seemed impatient with me even though there wasn't a line. They were out of their vegetarian burger and hot dog options. The French fries were just warm, not hot. The grilled cheese was made on rye bread which was just ok. Everything tasted like bacon which was gross (I do not eat bacon). My friend said the pie was just ok. The online menu is not as accurate. There are less options listed currently. I stopped in here for a late lunch with my husband. It was worth the stop, the owners have done well with this place. Creative sandwiches, friendly staff and great beer menu. Both my husband and I were able to find a beer we liked, and we don't drink the same kinds. It's definitely worth a stop in if you're looking for a casual meal in a friendly atmosphere. We came on a very busy day and were told ahead of time it would probably be about 45 minutes for the food. We were okay with that because we were with good company. Well and over an hour later and we did not have our food. They had lost our ticket and it took another 30 minutes. They did bring out some nachos but really just wanted our food.
