I really used to love this place. The first few times I decided to try it this year, the crawfish was really good! Then, I went twice this month and my crawfish was mushy, one bag was completely inedible, maybe 6 edible crawfish in the whole 2 pounds that I ordered. Come on, guys! It's crawfish season! I am not sure if they are trying to keep up with high demand and are leaving the crawfish in the water boiling for too long or what, but it's unappetizing. Also, many of my crawfish were green inside. Yikes. read more

Great customer service. Crawfish are large. Definitely worth the drive over here. FYI they are located inside Ranch Market

The crawfish was succulent and the head was meaty and yummy. Don't forget to wear the bib because u will get dirty. I recommend this place if u want to satisfy that crawfish craving. read more

I went to this place on a Sunday around noon. Yes its inside Ranch 99 store. So what? You go in there grab a six pack of your favorite beer. Walk around and you will see LA Crawfish right there. it was about seven of us and a 5 year old. We ordered 2lbs of spicy crawfish, 2lbs not very spicy crawfish and got couple pounds of shrimp. Yea crawfish was small, but its not a LA Crawfish fault. Its the end of January, Give them a break. Come back there in 2 months and they will be huge. Its BYOB, cheap, and they have specials every day. I will be back. read more

The best place to order crawfish online ever :-))) happy to know this place.

This place got 1 star because I had to put something. This place ruined my crawfish eating experience and was a waste of our $50. The crawfish were frozen and anyone that eats crawfish can tell frozen from fresh a mile away. After eating some we asked if they were frozen and were told no which was a blatant lie. I would have appreciated an honest answer but since they lied it tells me they know they are wrong. Also, the crab legs were extremely small. This place will never see us or our money again. We only went here in the first place because LA Fisherman didn't open until 3 read more

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! I mean seriously what is this place?! Nasty little hut in a store? Lines were ridiculous and there was no seating. Super dirty and the crawfish isn't Cajun! Hate this place! Won't be going back! read more

Ordered 8lbs today togo and they are all DEAD crawfish! Tasted disgusting, small as hell, worst crawfish I ever had in my life. How do they even sell this? I've given this LA crawfish so many chance but I think this is the last time I ever eat here. read more

Great food, decent prices. BYOB is a plus of course.

This place rocks we go here all the time! Service is fast and the food is delicious! Prices ain't too bad either recommend everyone to at least try it out once. read more

LA Crawfish - Lunch break at none other than La Crawfish! - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Houston, Texas

The staff were friendly and the crawfish flavors were AWESOME!!!! The crawfish were a tad smaller than when it was crawfish peak season but they were still an okay size considering it being off season. One of the staff said that they will be bigger sometime soon because they'll get their crawfish from california. I had their pho and it was pho' sho the bomb. The broth was so good I kinda drank most of the broth in the bowl and this is coming from a guy who is picky when it comes to pho. My gf ordered lemon pepper wings and those were so hot and crispy. Be sure and ask them for ranch dip bc those went great together. I'll be back for the pho and their blue crabs for lunch tomorrow. read more

I use to ate craw on Los Angeles , Orange County. Its been awhile i am kind of forgetting to eat great crawfish beside buffets in houston ( because houston seems the heaven for buffet, didnt seen much on los angeles). So after 5 years i reside in houston , i decided to try out LA craw fish, i was assuming this will be good place to get crawfish ...and it hitted the jackpot. Even i only ordered two pounds for to go , i realized it that They made amazing flavor ....... since i was ordering extra extra spicy. I can felt the spicy hit to my throat and nose as i demanded. Texture , and the amount of spice they put in perfectly blend. Highly recommended ! THey have great parking spot , not yet try dine in but will definitely recommended in future. read more

I used to love this place, but haven't been here for a while. So I was around the area and decided to stop by for lunch. Knowing that it's not crawfish season now, I asked the clerk if these were fresh crawfish or frozen. He said they are fresh and that they are shipped from California and that the prices of the crawfish has been up'ed due to shipping and handling. I've had california crawfish at other places in Houston and they do not look like the ones that were served to me at La Crawfish. The ones I had were Louisiana crawfish and frozen. Some people might not notice its frozen becuase it's being masked in thier seasoning. Other places serve "California" and they are fresh. The claws and color of Cali crawfish look different to. Big distinguishment between frozen and fresh crawfish. The taste and texture are different. Tails are dried and left a funny taste in my mouth. My advice to this business is that please do not give customers false advertisment and also insult my intelligence by lying just to make a sale. This has drawn me away from ever coming back. Who knows what else that can be false advertising. read more

My go to and most visited restaurant in Houston. We love this place, and have always received excellent customer service here despite how busy it gets! read more

Their crawfish is okay. I ordered garlic and butter flavor so they brought out 10lbs for us. First of all, they were kinda small and dead ones in there too. I could not taste any garlic or butter, seemed like no flavor at all. Either they overcooked the crawfish or they were not live ones, if you are crawfish lover, you can tell the different between the live ones and dead ones, my 10lbs tasted like all dead ones in there, so super disappointed. they put a lot of boiling soup in my bags, wonder if they weight before they put the soup in cuz it might weight like 4lbs, but that soup had muddy black color which was kinda gross when i looked at it. There are more places that much better than this one. So this place is not that great read more

Horrible horrible, dead sewer water tasting crawfish. You could tell the crawfish were dead when they were cooked. And the pound of shrimp we got with the crawfish was thrown in the same bag with the crawfish even though they were supposed to be two different levels of spice. Worst experience ever eating crawfish anywhere. Would never go back read more

This place doesn't deserve even 1 star. Expensive and nasty crawfish. I can tell they are cooked from frozen crawfish. Seasoning is terrible. Never come back, read more

I've eaten here many times but never again. Ate 1 crawfish and knew they were frozen, even my 6 year old daughter knew they were frozen. We can eat crawfish for days and didn't even come close to finishing half a pound tonight. I brought it back to the cashier (which honestly I have never done anywhere) and she insisted they're fresh and "they have a chef picking out the freshest ones". Needless to say, while I didnt bother arguing, left the rest on the counter and said you might as well toss em because we won't be eating them. I used to love this place, our regular grocery spot is Ranch 99, but now we cant trust it. I don't mind spending the money, but be up front and honest if it's frozen. Pho was decent as usual, jalapeno pepper wings were the exact same as lemon pepper but with a couple of jalapenos on top. "Magic" fried rice was weak and old. First time I've ever yelped, btw, but it needed to be said. read more

I use to eat here at least once a week with my family. I once stood up for an employee when i saw a person trying to do the $100 scam......Well this past Sunday we decided to place to go order, I was told that i cannot place a to go order because they were "too busy", I reiterated on the phone with the employee that i eat here all the time and that i have a decent order to place. Still i was denied service. I'll never eat here again because of this reason. Are they close by my house? Yes. Do they have decent crawfish? Yes. Will i just make an extra 5 minute drive to Alief to pick up my $150-200 TO GO order from now on? YES! Trust me Cajun Kitchens line was out the door when i arrived. Sucks that the owners will lose out on my easy to go orders because his employees aren't willing to go an extra mile for their customers. NOT ONCE HAVE I EVER BEEN DENIED SERVICE ANYWHERE BECAUSE THEY WERE "TOO BUSY". Get over yourselves your crawfish isn't the best in Houston and your employees are lazy. read more

I am very disappointed in this place. We ordered 30 lbs of crawfish here for our superbowl party because of the highly raved reviews. What we got instead was the most bland crawfish I have ever had. Very disappointed to have spent so much money on this crawfish to only have most of it thrown away. read more

All the bad reviews are BS or outdated. I have been coming here for years and the place never disappoints. They even have better soups than the Saigon shops inside and right outside the market. I rarely assign 4 stars but they deserve it because everything is consistently delicious. The other Asian market restaraunts seem cheap and gross so LA Crawfish is killing it. GREAT CRAWFISH DELICIOUS SPICY SOUPS and I am about to go try that MAGIC FRIED RICE! read more

The flavors here are hands down the best for year round crawfish eating. Lip smacking and finger licking good.

The staff is Always! friendly and helpful. The Pho is excellent! The Spicy Beef Pho is the best in town! The wings are a great size and always served hot. The wings also hold their crunchiness when taken to go. The crawfish, during season are a nice size and nicely priced. This is a b.y.o.beer place. Keep in mind that this is a 'seat yourself' place and it can be crowded (especially during crawfish season) due to the fact that the food and service is so good. Parking can be frustrating but worth the frustration for the great food! read more

Sunday was my 3rd time at la crawfish, this time i brought along my mom and sisters. Unlike the last two times i went, la crawfish is super packed. The food qualities was still excellent. Loved the crawfish, wanted to try the dessert fries but it was too crazy to get back in line again. I hope this isnt one of those places when business gets better service went out the window. The usual friendly cashier amy wasnt there... instead it was a girl that didnt smile and when asked for paper towels she gave me the look like " im busy stop bothering me". Next, onto the paper towels... usually there is always a roll on each table but not this time! I had to get up for 5 pieces each time which was very inconvenient. Paper towel is a cost incurred with running a crawfish shop, please be generous with it! Over all, i will be back just not on a weekend. read more

My boyfriend and I come eat here when we need a cheap and quick crawfish fix. It's $5.99 per pound of crawfish, which is a dollar cheaper than most crawfish restaurants. It's the best crawfish you can get for the price, but there are better places. The garlic butter is finger lickin' good! It's my favorite flavor to get. The only disappointment that makes it fall short of stars is the fact that they skimp you out on your crawfish by giving you a bunch of dead ones or a pile of broken crawfish legs. read more

The moment I got back to Houston, I was excited to get some spicy/garlicy/buttery crawfish that I remembered eating at LA crawfish but was so extremely disappointed. When we came (3/9), it was $5.99 per lb, cheapest in Houston I think. We ordered 6lbs of crawfish, 6 lemon pepper wings, 6 spicy cajun wings, and fries. We got our crawfish immediately which was awesome. While we waited patiently for our wings, we started on the crawfish. Maybe we came on a bad day, but the crawfish had NO flavor to it, cold, it was not fresh at all. I couldn't even finish my 3 lbs because I was so sick of it. I also did not like their system of picking up food, the guy at the cashier would yell out the names of the people who ordered but no one could hear him. It is very inefficient. When the wings came, we devoured them, they are SO good, flavorful, spicy and juicy! When the wings are better than the crawfish at a crawfish joint, there is something wrong here. read more

I'm not a huge fan of the crawfish, but I like the wings, especially the jalapeno onion and cajun rub. In addition, the pho is alright too. I honestly just go for the wings. read more

This place has everything you want from the creek to the ocean to the bay. Crawfish, king crab, and oysters are just the start. They also have wings and pho!! It's no hidden gem because you can easily tell the difference between the people coming just to eat here as opposed to the people coming to shop. Their offerings may seem spread across the board, but they deliver on every single one. With a choice of flavors on almost everything they serve, you are sure to find what you like. It's cool too how you can buy beer or other beverages in the supermarket and drink them within the posted area. The only downside to this place is that it's food court style and the word is out. It's tough to get a spot at peak times if you are with more than 2 people. You spread a plastic sheet over your place to dump your shells on and this takes up a bit of space so you might find yourself standing around until a spot opens up. I suggest if there is a wait then just tough it out. It's worth it in the end because this place has some solid offerings. read more

love the crawfish here, they have a range of 1-4 on how spicy you like...i like to ask for extra spice on the 4, and it's ok because the restroom is right around the corner if you can't handle the heat. this is definitely the number one place i would choose to go and eat crawfish. the spicy garlic wings are also one of my favorites, great flavor. after a few pounds of crawfish in my tummy, i like to get a bowl of pho to finish off my meal. small and cozy place to go after or before you go shopping in Ranch 99 read more

Loved it so much, I have been back for my 3rd time in a week :) Parking and finding a spot to sit is a pain on the wknd but it was still worth the trouble! My husband said the crawfish was definitely some good stuff! read more

The crawfish are small and pathetic. The flavors are seriously lacking, I agree with other yelpers that when they first opened, their crawfish was legit but over the years it is obvious that there has been a decline in quality. I will not be coming back here. Don't waste your time and money coming here. Go to crawfish cafe, jolynns, or jenivis seafood shoppe instead! read more

Lemon pepper wings are really good and Pho are always very good! My favorite pho is the sweet and sour spicy.

This used to be my favorite crawfish place 2 year ago. It seems to me as your business grows, you can't keep up with the quality. Yesterday I came back to give the crawfish another try and was very disappointed as 1/3 of the crawfish (my friend and I ordered 2lbs each) was dead :( Last year the same thing happened and I had to end up giving up on your crawfish but it was very nice of you guys to give me a refund. I have no complaint about the service since your staff are always super nice. I hope you guys will do better next time. read more

I was visiting from the DFW area with my family and after reading the reviews we decided to give this place a shot. SOOOO glad we did. Its located in a very cool Asian market, which we enjoyed because some of our party were non crawfish eaters and could get other types of Asian food while others feasted on crawfish. Let me first say that the other reviews mentioned that the area was pretty "Sketchy". I don't agree but on the other hand i was born and raised in Brooklyn NYC and my idea of sketchy maybe different than others. The market was light, airy , and CLEAN. Even the bathrooms were clean. The staff was soo friendly and let me know that they have a 2.99lb special on blue crabs on Tuesdays. OK to the food. We went for the CRAWFISH and man that's what we got and was NOT disappointed. They were seasoned well (Buttery Garlic- Medium Heat). The price was fair, but the only thing that makes this a 4 star and not a 5 star is that they were on the small side. We will be going back on Tuesday and will see if they are any bigger. For this style of Crawfish BOILING CRAB is my fave but i was not about the take my family there i know the wait is killer and not many non seafood eaters choices. So lets sum this up. The crawfish are YUMMY (similar to BOILING CRAB), the Location is friendly and clean, and our experience was fantastic. read more

LA Crawish is THE best in town! The pho is delicious and cooked perfectly. I devoured my shrimp Po Boy when I couldn't resist after the first bite! I ordered their beignets TWICE! read more

This place came highly recommended to me. One trip was enough to make me a fan of their delicious crawfish. Now there are plenty of reviews here that talk about the crawfish, so I won't beat the dead horse. Instead, let me tell you about a gem of a dessert that goes unnoticed. What I'm talking about are the beignet fries. But wait... I don't see any beignets on the menu. That's because it is cleverly disguised under the French fries portion of the menu. You'll see several options of french fries including dessert fries. What you get is a paper bowl full of perfectly fried beignet sticks that look like french fries with condensed milk drizzled on top of it. Eating these beignet fries can be addicting. This is not for the faint of heart. If you plan on eating one or two, forget it. You will instantly fall in love with these fries and devour the whole thing. Then you'll probably get two more orders of the dessert fries on top of the 4 lbs. of crawfish you just ate. Ummm... yea... I'm not speaking from experience or anything... what?! Don't judge me!!! read more

I went in September and I know crawfish was no longer in season. The plus is that they still had live crawfish. Considering it was no longer in season, the crawfish was decent. My complaint about it however, is the saltiness of the seasoning! It was too salty, too spicy (for mild), and overall the taste was just overwhelming. The beignets were pretty delicious. Although I did not get the best experience, I would come back and give it another try when I am in the area. read more

I went in March. Half the crawfish that they served was dead or bad. I brought them back up to the counter and they were kind enough to replace them. However, the new batch of crawfish was just as inedible. read more

Wow! So glad to have found this place. Best crawfish we have had in Houston. "Extra hot" is no joke!! Snowcrab in garlic butter so so SO good. Beignet fries are a don't miss!! BYOB is very cool, but beer selection at Ranch 99 sucks. Next time will bring some from home! read more

i like to think of myself as a crawfish connoisseur since i've been eating it all my 31 years of life. it's a family tradition, even. i'd never tried Asian style before, however, which is really surprising considering i'm a full fledged otaku. I tried LA Crawfish with my girls and fell in love at first taste! i was a bit apprehensive about the garlic, however it was amazingly perfect! i ordered the spicy (not everyone can handle this) but i loved the fact that you could order by varying degrees of spiciness. I'm hooked and the girls and I will be weekly regulars here! Also, try the beignet fries - fabulous! read more
