I was really excited to come here bc last seasons crawfish was great in size and taste. I love their spicy garlic butter sauce. Needless to say, our visit was very disappointing this time around. Our crawfish was very soft and mushy and the meat tasted like it has been sitting in the pot for awhile. It seems like they were trying to prepare for the crowd since they were pretty busy and made a huge batch earlier. read more

It seriously breaks my heart to have to give a scathing review to one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. I've been coming here since they first opened and have always spent the majority of crawfish season enjoying their garlic butter deliciousness. Even during the off season, I was here on a regular basis for their amazing pho and their flavorful chicken wings. This year, I've given LA Crawfish multiple chances and each time it's been a huge disappointment. The crawfish comes out immediately upon placing the order and they are small, mushy, and cold. They in no way resemble the crawfish that I'd come to know and love. LA Crawfish is clearly choosing quantity and timeliness over quality and it's a real shame. I'd gladly wait as long as necessary if meant receiving the piping hot, juicy crawfish of the past. I hope they're able to learn from this season and make the appropriate changes, but until they do I will be taking my business elsewhere. Get it together LA Crawfish, we miss you!! read more

We were regulars here last crawfish season and so excited to come back this year but sadly disappointed. We got 1lb of each flavor of the crawfish...they were fishy (could not suck the heads), cold, no flavor, rubbery and dry...horrible. My husband got the boiled shrimp and they were so over cooked that he couldn't even peel them b/c they just turned to mush. It was an expensive meal (for crawfish when you're from La) and I couldn't be more disappointed. I think they have expanded and obviously the quality has really suffered. It's so close to our home and we love crawfish but won't be coming back to this place. read more

Three strikes and you are out....This was the third time I ordered take out from LA Crawfish and each time I ordered Cajun spice with NO BUTTER SAUCE. When I order last week I specifically said, "NO BUTTER SAUCE"! When I picked up my order last week and got home what did I have? Crawfish swimming in BUTTER SAUCE. Ay $6.99 per pound there are many better alternatives. Keep your butter sauce and you are out! read more

I'm late, I know, but I finally got around to stopping by! This is a small crawfish joint located inside Ranch 99. It was my first time being in the supermarket, and it really felt like I was in Asia. Too bad I didn't know about the check-in to receive 10% off. The crawfish was $6/lb when I came. They were small, but it's near the end of the season so I can't really complain. The seasoning was great. Yes, there's A LOT of garlic, but it's so good. I could not stop sucking on the shells of the crawfish. The sausage was so flavorful from the seasoning! I wish I could saw the same about the corn, but it was sweet. The real winner here are their spicy garlic chicken wings. These are some of the best wings I've ever had, and I love me some fried chicken. Since it's located in the grocery store, it's BYOB. Walk yourself over to the beer aisle or any other drink aisle and grab yourself something refreshing. read more

First off if your trying to locate this place for the first time, its inside the 99 Ranch Market. Love it here!! Definitely one of my favorite places for crawfish. My only complaint is that the crawfish was a little gamy , but yet again it`s not crawfish season so i`m not complaining too much. The cajun style crawfish was the best, the garlic butter style was a little too buttery but still good in my opinion. My boyfriend's dad got the seafood pho, OMG it was super good. It`s BYOB and the customer service was awesome. The cashier really helped us out a lot, she was really sweet and told us how they run the show. Lol. Unfortunately they ran out of blue crab, but maybe next time I can try it. After we got done eating we ordered some beignets, those have to be the best beignets i`ve ever eaten. I typically go to Chez Beignets, but LA Crawfish beignets knocks the socks off of them. Overall it was a hell of an experience and I would definitely become a regular customer. read more

The Luna's love this place! Our favorite place for Pho. The service is awesome, we love the michelada mix and you can never go wrong with wings or shrimp. Thank you LA C staff for always making sure we are well taken care of. read more

Being from Louisiana it was interesting to try asian garlic style crawfish. This place is inside an asian grocery store called 99 ranch market which also has a mini-mall of about 10 restaurants and shops inside. For about 5-6 bucks you get a bag with 1lb of boiled crawfish in garlic sauce. Sides such as sausage, potatoes, and corn are 50 cents to a dollar each. I would recommend the sausage, and if you need to fill up the potatoes will do the job. They served good big crawfish and the garlic sauce was definitely a different take. In Louisiana we sometimes boil garlic cloves with the crawfish and they melt like butter in your mouth, but I could not quite talk them into trying this, it would be pretty awesome though, garlic cloves covered with garlic sauce. Anyway this is definitely a cool place to try for a different cultural experience, but don't wear a white t-shirt (my mistake) because crawfish can get messy. Oh, and don't forget the 10% off for checkins, as I did not notice until I had paid. read more

We have been trying a lot of crawfish places around town and so far this place have beaten out what we thought was the best crawfish place in town (Boiling Crab). It's the sauce, it's the extremely spicy #3, and of course the BYOB. Either way, I think this place will prove itself and it will get super popular before you know it! read more

The crawfish pho was mediocre. I was expecting a lot more than just pho broth and crawfish. And there were only two crawfish tails in the soup. read more

Need your crawfish or seafood fix... look no further. Yeah, you've driven by this place (99 Ranch Market) a million times and who knew there was a crawfish joint inside!?!?!? Went with a friend on Friday night to check out LA Crawfish and our taste buds and belly's were happy we did! I had a pound of crawfish and a pound of scrimps... they hand you a roll of paper towels and a plastic tablecloth. Grab yourself a table and wait to hear your name called. They handed me plastic bags with my seafood cooked to perfection. The only thing was that I don't think they are very consistent with the spice level or cajun vs. garlic cooking style. I say that cause my friend and I ordered different things and the flare wasn't consistent with what we ordered - - but it was delish anyway. Vampires beware... they put tons of minced garlic in their sauces - be warned and bring lots of gum!! We finished our gorge fest with the beignet fries - perfect sweet to cool off the heat. Only thing I wish I would have known is that if you check in on Yelp at LA Crawfish you get a coupon for 10% off!!! Dang!! Bottom line... if you love crawfish or boiled seafood and like it hot - - this is your place. I will most def be going back!!! read more

Great Price with great taste! And they are big and fresh. I went some different crawfish restaurant but I would highly recommend this~!

I would give this place 7 stars if I could!!!! Simply the most amazing burst of flavor you could dream of in crawfish. Ever! They even made a special mix of garlic and Cajun for us. The price is simply unbeatable. Please please open up a branch in Dallas! read more

My family is from Louisiana, so crawfish on Good Friday is natural to us. The crawfish was seasoned perfectly. The only problem was that they were small, but my cousin said that this season (2014) sucked for crawfish. The andouille sausage was pretty good too. But I definatley want to come back to taste the other flavors. read more

Wow this place is awesome. It has BYOB, which is my pet peeve, and the best flavor crawfish I have tasted so far!

Messy, but tasty and delicious. Especially the shrimp in mild spicy garlic sauce... Make sure you go in your workout get up. No fancy clothes, not the right place for a first date, or second or... maybe at the 10th... read more

I had a pound of Cajun style. This place meets my formula for the ultimate trifecta; Great price, great service, and most importantly great food! The crawfish tasted super fresh and had just the perfect amount of seasoning, spicy but not uncomfortable. The counter staff was super friendly even through a rush of people. Don't forget to grab a cold beer from the grocery store the Sapporo was perfect. Will visit again! read more

I'm not a huge crawfish fan due to the lack of meat but the seasoning was spicy and good.

Awesome crawfish. BYOB! What more can u ask for? Ah did u say u wanted to watch the game? Done

Surprisingly good crawfish even though it isn't crawfish season. A girl named Lexi took my order and was very polite, and even sold me on an extra side. The best flavor I have had so far is the spicy Garlic. read more

Decided to visit this place after hearing and seeing all the super reviews on it and they were right. This place has excellent customer service and very fast service. Ordered our food and got it within 5 minutes. Ordered 7 lbs of crawfish for my family and I and wings. Food was excellent, crawfish were large, everything was perfect. Because this place is a hot commodity, we had to stand in line about 10 minutes before ordering due but it was well worth the wait! I will definitely visit LA Crawfish again. read more

The best I have had yet to date!!!!! Oh and they were very big at 6.99 a lb they were well worth it! I will come back soon.

I love crawfish and Vietnamese noodles... So they got the combination of both Vietnamese type, as well as Louisiana food...I've been there several times and still love it, especially the crawfish pho!! Not to mention the location inside the supermarket, convenient when doing grocery shopping there as well!!! read more

Good flavor but way too many squishy, and way too many tiny crawfish. I only ate half the bag. We ended up going to another restaurant because we were still hungry. Ordered 5 spice wings and I could tell cinnamon was one of ingredients. It's was okay, cinnamon chicken wings...? read more

We took 6 pound of crawfish today, they were all dead, very bad experience, will not recommend this place to any one

Price was $5.99 a pound which wasn't too bad. We ordered 4 lbs. (Half with the garlic sauce and the other half cajun style). Tasty but the crawfish were pretty small still. Occasionally a decent medium sized one would be found in the bag. The Cajun fries taste like curly fries from Jack-in-the-box (which I love) so yes, the fries were delicious imo. Lastly, the gumbo is decent here. I was pleasantly surprised to find a whole blue crab leg in my gumbo! Yummy! Will be back. Just make sure you get here before the long line starts to form! Service will still be very quick. read more

I've been reading reviews about this place for awhile now and yesterday I decided to try. I went in about 2:30 for a 1lb sample to make sure they were up to par for the wifey & friends because they wanted crawfish for dinner, or should I say good crawfish for dinner. This place is a food stall inside Ranch 99 supermarket and it's really nice and quaint and it reminds me of a crawfish shack you'd find tucked away in the swamps of Louisiana. The menu is simple and not extensive at all which makes ordering easier especially when you have friends with you that don't know what to order. The crawfish are a lil small because of the season but man they were really good and I was impressed. Havn't tried the pho yet but it looked awesome, so I suggest you swing by and grab some mudbugs you'll know what I'm talking bout. Sit down eat and chase them with some beers cus it's BYOB, don't forget to grab a sixer inside the grocery store before you sit down. read more

This is the place to go to if you can avoid the crowd. I went at lunch time on a week day. It was surprisingly packed. Their crawfish does not disappoint. The wings are pretty good too. read more

I was excited to go to this place, they were quick to take the order (6 lbs of crawfish, corn, and potatoes, along with 4 beers) we sat and eagerly waited for our order. As soon as it got there, all seemed fine, UNTIL WE ACTUALLY OPENED THE CRAWFISH! The bags were steaming hot, and we started peeling our crawfish...NO WAY JOSE!!! This was not right, the crawfish were dirty, seemed like they did not take the time to purge the lil creatures, and when I looked more closely they were dark colored on the bottom. The taste was horrible, seemed like they used all of the spices to cover up the bad crawfish. I have eaten at alot of places and this was just not right. So my better half sent them back and they were nice enough to say they would get a new batch for us. Yup they sure did get us a "new batch" of the same dirty crawfish. The reason I think it was the same batch was because they were no different than the first order we received. After peeling about 4 of them I honestly just could not eat them, we decided to take them to the front and walk out. No food, no refund, we just were very upset and decided to just leave, we left them with our money, and a bad taste in our mouth. We decided to go to another place close by, and let me tell you, we told them of the experience we had just gotten and they were kind enough to show us the actual process of cleaning and picking the crawfish that they serve. We were NOT disappointed and we ordered and ate alot and were very happy with the new place we went to. I hope LA Crawfish changes the process and does a better job with this. Good luck to all who do go here and eat. read more

Nice Restaurant. Los Angeles crawfish is the best crawfish in town. The best thing on the menu is this swoll asian cashier that has a really nice ass. Yum!! Very LGBT Friendly. read more

Got a lb. of Shrimp, corn, and a potato in the Cajun sauce. Great flavor. Only issue with the shrimp was there were a few of them that were mushy. being inside the 99 ranch kind of threw me off when I was looking for this place but I'll be back. read more

After all the buzz about LA crawfish I decided to stop by today to see if it was all hype. No one told me it was located inside of a Chinese market- this made parking similar to any ordinary grocery store. It was kinda cool seeing that you could buy a beer or wine cooler within the market and enjoy it with your meal. The line was longer than expected but moved fairly quickly. Our order was ready before we were able to prepare the condiments and find seats. I found that was too good to be true...but okay keep it coming.... OMG.. everything smelled so good and was hot to the touch. I chose to rate my overall experience 3/5 stars mostly because there were a handful of decent size crawfish and the rest were tiny and pitiful. We ordered 2 lbs of Garlic and 2lbs Cajun style crawfish and 1 pound of Cajun shrimp +4 sodas, which came out to around $50. The sauces were good, but I don't believe its worth $50 considering I didn't leave full. I would try this place again, however there has to be somewhere better. read more

I and giving this place 3 stars for the beignets because they were really good. But the noodles I had were simply okay. I think it was their house noodle with seafood and sausage. It was a big portion but.....it was just okay. read more

Don't get the BBQ crab. It's not BBQ at all but deep fried so the meat is all dried up and tasted like plastic. It 's $9.99 for fried hard crab shell. Crawfish was decent- seasoning was good but crawfish wasn't fresh. read more

This place serves the largest crawfish I've ever seen. The flavor is good but not my cup of tea. I can see why there is so much hype about this place. The best part about this place is that it is BYOB. I will definitely give it a second try soon. read more

Absolute best extra spicy crawfish I've ever had!! This is definitely my new crawfish place!

Awesome seasoning and LOVE the garlic bits! I think one of the best seasonings I have had in a very long time - though spicy and tasty, NOT salty. Will need to try the blue crab next time! read more

I have eaten here a few times and for the most part, got pretty tasty crawfish. I have had all of the flavors. I like the Spicy the best..I think the Very Spicy was a little much for me and my wife, and we really like spicy foods. That said, I have one gripe about the crawfish and I think its major. The crawfish there are just small! I get some medium size every now and then, but its in the month of May. They should be serving medium to large. I have eaten here 3 times this year, and I think they were larger in late February. I also tried the Cajun Curry a couple of months back an it was ok. Tonight it tasted too sweet with coconut milk. Couldn't eat it. They were out of beignets, but did not tell us. My little girl waited around forever before we had to find out where our order was. We ordered non-spicy shrimp in its place and it was very mushy. Can't say I am excited to rush back. Customer service is normally really good and fast. Very friendly! 3 stars. read more

i kept hearing about this place from friends and was shopping at ranch 99 so i decided to give it a try. not bad! not bad at all! lots of flavor but there were alot of dead ones and some were a tad overcooked but that can be overlooked bc its cheaper than most places and comes out faster than most places. ill def work this place into my crawfish rotation! read more

I went Saturday night super excited from reading all the reviews and thought they had a very nice website, even waited in the 45 minute line to order and expected to really eat something great. Unfortunately idk if it was because of how busy it was but the crawfish were small and didn't live up to the rest of the reviews which sucks when we paid $70 waited in line for a long time mind you IM PREGNANT so my back was aching and sitting there bummed because I've had better that was wayyy closer to my house and no line. It didn't taste bad but I wouldn't wait in line to go again :/ if I'm in the area I'll give it another shot as long as the line is not wrapped around the stores. Maybe it was a off night. Food did come out fast ill give them that and the BYOB was pretty cool if I could drink lol. Also I forgot to mention the shrimp was over cooked I had a hard time eating it because the shell was glued on making it very difficult to peel and ended up having to spit out pieces of shell that just wouldn't come off. The garlic butter sauce was awesome and corn and potatoes I enjoyed as well. read more
