I love Mambo seafood, I have been to this locations several times over the years and it is - always consistent in quality of food & oysters - always consistent with customer service - always a good experience What I order : - Mambo Special fried rice - michelada regular - oysters - Vuelve a la vida soup This combination is the best I know it may sound weird but it is so good and always hits the spot when I am craving oysters! I recommend ordering these items if you haven't tried them out yet! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love sitting in the patio when sun is setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is very spacious especially for hot summer time and humidity in Houston.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Wow, what a great experience! We found parking very easily and our party of 6 was seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Other waitstaff also checked in on us too. We ordered the fried shrimp plate, shrimp tacos, and mambo combo. We ate our hearts out and especially loved the shrimp fried rice! Great place to have a casual, delicious Friday night dinner with family. We'll be back!

As always prompt and good service! Had our micheladas, started with the Salmon bites that were absolutely delicious! We ordered the Crawfish bundle with shrimp but the size of the crawfish were disappointing! Overall great taste & experience!

Ordered the snapper via UberEats from this location. I took a few bites and as I dig in noticed the entire fish was black on the inside. Immediately I vomited everything I had eaten. Contacted UberEats and was only a refunded a portion of my order. Contacted the restaurant and they did not assist. I had to throw out everything that I ordered because who in their right mind would continue to eat from a place ghat clearly is too lazy to conduct QA on the foods being served. This is disgusting. Quite puzzle as to how this occurred but I do know that they just lost a customer.

    Mambo Fried Fiesta Fish Taco

We've eaten here several times and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. The coconut shrimp appetizer and grilled fish tacos is my go to order. I usually get a topo chico chelada that I definitely recommend. Last visit, I tried the pepinada margarita and it was amazing. Not overly sweet and tastes fresh. The tamarindo stick and cucumber and jicama with chamoy was a fun surprise and of course were all fresh and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff is always great and I've never noticed it being too loud even when packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love this place!

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16. They were tasty. I like Rouxpour and would return. My only negative is that their prices are a little on the high side in my opinion.

YEAH, they understood the assignment. The gumbo is finger‑licking good -- argue with somebody else about it. I get the seafood version minus the sausage, and I clear that bowl every time. The Chargrilled Rockefeller? That's the one you call your mama about. Big, flavorful, perfect. And the deviled eggs... listen. I don't even like deviled eggs, but these? My mouth is literally watering thinking about them. Smooth, creamy yolk, perfectly seasoned shrimp on top -- a combo I didn't know I needed. The crab cakes? Chef's kiss. Packed with fresh crab, and that aioli is doing exactly what it needs to do. The only miss for me was the crab and asparagus -- it just wasn't giving. No flavor, no cohesion... just no. The crème brûlée is delicious, but I'm still wishing they made beignets. Now the drinks? Top 2 and not number 2, do you hear me? The Mexican Martini and the Texas Blueberry Martini -- TEA. (Yes, the little tea‑finger gesture is happening.) And the staff? Amazing. I actually found out I was laid off while I was sitting at happy hour, and the way they comforted me... You would've thought they'd known me for years. They turned one of my hardest moments into something warm and memorable. I'll never forget that. Rouxpour has my whole heart.

At your own risk, I guess. Food was overall average- went with seafood options which were well cooked but nothing to write home about. The grouper has too many sweet elements which I was concerned about when ordering- would have liked some savoury bite in there. Also was disappointed they didn't pack up my leftovers (got lost in communication I guess). The crab cake entree- to me the reads appetizer, which is what we did. But honestly one of the best crab cakes I've had. Sturdy breading but so much flavour and balanced well with the veg/salad it sits on. The 7 layer chocolate cake was perfectly balanced dessert as well. Not too sweet and loved the crispy/crunchy bits.

Credence -- Where Live Fire Becomes Language and Houston Becomes Art…read more Credence isn't just a restaurant; it's a declaration written in flame. The moment you step inside, the room opens like a long exhale -- wide, airy, and confident, anchored by an open kitchen that glows with the kind of live fire that doesn't simply cook food but tells stories. This is Houston hospitality raised to its highest register, the kind that once earned a Michelin Star for service and still moves with the quiet pride of a place that knows exactly what it's doing. Chef Levi Goode's first brick‑and‑mortar feels like a culmination -- a fifth‑generation Texan with classical training finally building a home where both halves of his identity can stretch their legs. You taste the lineage in the smoke, the discipline in the technique, and the ambition in the menu, which reads like a love letter to Gulf waters, ranch land, and the elemental power of fire. Start with the seafood tower if you want to understand Credence's worldview: fresh, cold, towering abundance arranged with the precision of someone who respects the ocean as much as the plate. The smoked tuna dip is a quiet masterpiece -- silky, savory, and carrying a whisper of smoke that feels like a signature. But the deviled crab? That's where the kitchen shows off. The crab arrives tossed in a smoky tomato butter that clings to every fold, every shred, every hidden corner. Then comes the monkey bread -- warm, soft, pull‑apart temptation -- the kind of bread that makes you forget your manners and commit fully to the moment. But the flame is the true narrator here. It guides the entrées, sets the rhythm, and crowns the showpieces. The whole duck is a spectacle, a celebration, a feast meant for people who appreciate craft and aren't afraid of abundance. It arrives whole (no head), lacquered and glistening, with two legs transformed into confit jewels -- tender, rich, and decadent enough to make you pause mid‑bite. This is not a solo mission; bring a friend or two unless you plan to make a memory out of leftovers. If beef is your compass, the prime dry‑aged New York strip is a study in restraint and precision. Charred edges, deep flavor, and that unmistakable live‑fire signature that makes you wonder why you ever settled for anything cooked on a quiet grill. Dessert at Credence is not an afterthought -- it's a finale. The brown butter Bundt cake arrives warm and fragrant, crowned with chantilly cream that melts into every ridge. It's sized for a crowd, but sharing becomes a philosophical dilemma. Credence is not cheap, but it is honest. Every dollar is accounted for in intention, detail, and execution. This is Houston -- bold, generous, and unafraid -- translated into food, flame, and service. A restaurant that honors the land, the lineage, and the craft, all at once.

If you enjoy decadent food, Credence is the spot! The interior is refined but still welcoming and…read morelively with Southern charm. Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

The banchan was another standout for me because you could tell everything was really high quality. Just be warned that some of the side dishes are VERY spicy haha. TL;DR: Get the kimchi pancake, marinated salmon, bulgogi jahpchae, and/or a soup…read more As a Korean American who grew up in Houston in the 90s, I must admit I tend not to venture much from the OG spots. The original Houston K-town, or K-street along Long Point between Gessner and Blalock (and not the new establishments in Katy off I-10 and 99) has gotten an infusion of new restaurants since the 2010s that have come and gone. K-tang is a newer player on the block that has managed to come onto my radar AND overcome the inertia of going to the same place. More notably, it's become one of my two favorite Korean restaurants overnight. Yeah. I came here 3 times in 5 days, and our parties ordered 12 items off the menu. I need to spotlight this menu that drew me in in the first place. The range is unprecedented. Their namesake highlights tang (pronounced tahng), or soups, but their standouts extend way beyond, and they straddle the hot and cold items better than any other place I've seen in town. Service could be more attentive but is friendly. Appreciated the owner going around and asking how things are. Enough prelude. Here we go, in ascending order to greatness. Ratings take price into consideration. What I didn't try but was enjoyed by others: - Bulgogi Bibimbap. My brother-in-law got this on our second consecutive day here. - Kimchi pork dohlsoht (stone pot). My SiL got this and loved it. Gets that nooroongji (rice that slightly sticks to the bottom) from the hot stone pot. Hard to go wrong with this. - Soondooboo (soft tofu) jjigae (stew) with kimchi and pork. I love that it comes out roaring boiling and stays piping hot - authentic. My BiL loved it so much that he lamented not living closer to K Tang. What I did try myself: - I can't believe they serve munggeh (sea squirt) here across various dishes. It's definitely an expert-level acquired taste, so both my non-Korean husband his brother found it disgusting, and I was not offended in the least. If you grew up eating this and miss it like me, this is a treasure trove. So while I don't recommend the sea squirt dishes to the general public, I so appreciate that this section of the menu caters to the more native Korean audience. Definitely a 5/5 in my book. - Dduhkbokki: I didn't really like the flavor or the rice rice cakes in this (as opp to "rice cakes" made of wheat, which have chewier texture), so I wouldn't get this again. 2/5. - Boodae jjigae, or army soup, originating during the Korean War where SPAM and sausage met kimchi. The broth is nicely done and doesn't taste like ramen soup like it does at some places. I liked it but my husband didn't, so 4/5. - Bibim (mixed) naengmyeon (cold noodles, pronounced nangmyun): Hard to mess up this sauce, but they must make the noodle in house. 4.5/5. Curious about their mool (water) naengmyeon esp in this heat, but it's made with beet juice and without the beef base that I like, so I haven't tried it yet. Edit: Went back for the third time and got the mulhoe (pronounced mool-hweh, meaning water sashimi) with salmon. It was ok (3/5), but had too sweet of a broth; I would stick to the bibim naengmyun. - Dogani (beef knee) tang (soup) feels like a misnomer given this dish has just the tendon and no knee cap served in it, but I do love the stickiness of that soup, which you get only when it's full of collagen. It's also hard to get the flavor and consistency this well, and I didn't taste anything synthetic. Yes, I had it in 90+ degree weather, and yes, I still enjoyed it; I sure as heck wouldn't make it myself in this weather. 4.5/5 - Bulgogi jahpchae: Copious in amount and delicious, especially with that hot plate singe with zero char. 5/5 - Kimchi pancake: Bar none the best I've had. I make a good one too, but this one's on another level. So chunky with potato bits or slices adding to the starch complexity, so that you get both the crispy edges and the comforting bites of pillowy potato. I don't know whether they included samgyeopsal (pork belly) fat into the batter or just cooked the pancake in it but it's a slam dunk with all those onion and kimchi slices on both flavor and texture. 5.5/5! - Marinated raw seafood: crab, abalone, salmon, and shrimp. This is what brought me to the restaurant, and it did not disappoint. They must have a high turnover because dashima (thick seaweed thus far bka by its Japanese name kombu, which is the ingredient of kombucha)-wrapped marinated salmon doesn't keep fresh for very long. But it's also unsurprising that they would have a high turnover, because it's delicious in all its slightly gelatinous texture and sweet soy marinade flavor. I tried the big platter that has it all AND the shrimp rice bowl on separate visits, and decided I would get the salmon on repeat. 6/5! Sang this ode like a canary, and a happy one. Please keep doing well so that I can come back for more and more, K-Tang. Love you already. Plenty of parking.
