Mushroom pasta with ham
Bryan C.

I do not give 1 star lightly as usually can find something redeeming so gets a 2 star. They overcooked hard boiled egg so turned green. Onion soup had cheese at bottom of bowl. Veal was shoe leather. Ham was just a salty piece of ham thrown on top. Burratta was cold which did not help the very Al dente pasta cook more. You could tell server was frustrated when told about green egg yolk.

Alex was a great server, the ambiance is warm & welcoming & the location was top notch! The food was good, though we'd have preferred more flavor in the steak. The chicken & pasta with mushroom sauce was satisfying & the creamy potatoes with cheese were delicious! We ended with a mojito, white wine & pear pie with rich rum raisin ice cream. The bill was about 90$ and worth it!

Rump steak with fries and salad. Mushroom sauce was delicious

The food here was tasty and not badly priced. I appreciated the English written on the menus since my French is very limited. The waiter was able to have our steaks cooked exactly how we liked, one pink and one bloody. The wait staff was cheerful. We were striking out on a good steak since the cuts were different from our usual in the US but the rump steak had no fat at all which was great! I enjoyed having a choice of 3 sauces for the steak and how they served it on the side. I recommend the mushroom sauce

Cute little cafe/restaurant in a great location (near the Louvre and shopping etc.)! We came in for dinner and were not disappointed. I tried escargot here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it! Overall a great experience with friendly staff so I would recommend!

Crepe menu

We wanted to have authentic French crepes in Paris so we stopped by La Cooperative as we saw their big crepe menu in English. I had Mont-Blanc and my husband had Iceberg. The crepes were big portioned but nothing special actually. I have had much better ones in Japan. We also had a glass of orange juice and a cup of tea. Unlike a lot of places in Europe, their orange juice was not fresh squeezed to my disappointment. The atmosphere of the cafe was good, especially the outside seating. They have heated lamps and blankets, so it is not too cold even in winter. Their bathroom is very weird because there is no cover for the toilet so I guess you have to squat?? They also have no wifi. For these two reasons, I think foreign visitors should go somewhere else.

Our friendly waiter!!!

Good food and good prices. Service is slow (like anywhere else) but waiters are friendly. Only complaint is that they don't have AC...so if you don't find a table outside, then get ready to sweat!!!

Absolutely loved this cafe! Staff was super friendly and entertained my French even though it's not as well as theirs. Food was delicious and portion was huge but wasn't a huge fan of the salad that came with it. Also got a glass of wine which was recommended by the server. Great choice!

I love this cafe!! This was the best creme brûlée I have ever had! And the coffee was perfect. My trip would not have been complete without my last minute stop to this cafe. The service was great as well.

We stumbled on this darling restaurant and are so happy we did! The staff was really nice and helpful. The escargot was *delicious* as was the rest of our dinner!!

Worst club sandwich - the bread was not toasted and chicken was stale

Waiters attitude and food were both terrible. Please don't waste your time coming here. Puts Paris cafe's to shame

Eh, the food here was okay. The server seemed more interested in getting us out of our seats than real service which is pretty standard to an American tourist in France, but still. My friend and I came here for lunch and got pasta and an appetizer which were pretty bland and boring compared to other meals we had on the trip. By the time we finished eating, we realized that the French speakers in the cafe got way better service than us, were pushed to buy more, and had more attentive care. Not really a great experience, but it was just a place to fill up before exploring the city some more.

Chicken club sandwich...12.3€ The sandwiches are already half eaten because it was so good we forgot to take a picture XD

I wish I could tell everyone how wonderful this restaurant really is. Delicious food, not too pricy and fantastic service! To top all of that, it is clean, and they happen to have menus in several languages. Great choice for lunch or dinner. :) My mother and I were so impressed with this place. Two thumbs up!!

Had for scale of the stale piece of bread

French Breakfast is a scam. 7.5 Euros for a tiny orange juice, not fresh squeezed. Old stale bread and a coffee. No croissants or any other viennoiseries even though they opened just 30 min ago and there's only a few people here. We're out of everything else...

I started with the free-range eggs with mayo, and my wife started with the leeks with vinaigrette. The eggs were delicious, but the leeks may have been the best preparation I've ever had in my life. For our main courses, she had the egg muffin, and I had the sausage and mash. Our meal was superb. Whoever is in the kitchen has clearly learned the art of French cuisine well. Service was fantastic, the people-watching (we ate al fresco) was fantastic, and I simply couldn't think of a way to make this a better meal.

Luca Recommended a meal with a mashed potatoes and sausage with French bread and salad and it sounded tasty so I gave it a go! All the flavors went well together; mashed potatoes were well seasoned the sausage had a good flavor, and the salad with the vinaigrette added a crunch in an extra flavor as well. I drank a French hard cider while I gobbled up my meal, which also was new for me and tasted great after I was done my meal. Luke brought me a shot with rum and some other ingredients, including lemon that definitely hit the spot after a good meal.I recommend Brasserie Belanger for anyone near GDN Train Station that enjoys great food and patio dining. Cheers!

We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

Just finished a long bike ride to the Eiffel Tower and worked up an appetite. Decided to go straight to the main course. They are known for Au Gratins. My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Friday lunch was an absolute beauty…read more The food? Fantastic. The wait times? Let's just say we're in Paris, not a Formula 1 pit lane. We'll leave it at that. We headed to Chez Janou, a Paris institution. I hadn't been in years, but my son insisted we go back because, according to him, they have the best chocolate mousse in Paris. Judging by the lineup, half the city; and every tourist with an Instagram account showed up. Thankfully we had a 2pm reso. Here's the thing, though. Everyone talks about the mousse, but the food deserves just as much attention. I'd also forgotten how much I love the 3rd arrondissement. Wander a few minutes from the restaurant and you'll find beautiful art galleries, a gorgeous little park, and some of the best boutique shopping in Paris. It's one of those neighbourhoods where you accidentally walk 15,000 steps without realizing it. Now, here's your game plan. Start with the escargots or the gambas to share. For your main, order the farci provençal or the foie de veau. The farci is like a French version of a stuffed pepper: yummy comfort food with a southern coast twist. As for the foie de veau... I actually ordered it by mistake. I thought I was getting regular veal. Out came veal liver. Best mistake of the day. I love liver. My mom makes an incredible liver and onions, so I'm a tough judge. This was outstanding. Rich, buttery, perfectly cooked and perfectly salted. It was so good I immediately texted my mom and told her she's coming here the next time she's in Paris. Drum roll, please... The chocolate mousse. Was it worth all the hype? Yep. There are no fancy swirls or little artistic desserts here. A server simply walks over carrying what looks like a white industrial-sized bowl of chocolate mousse and casually drops a mountain of it onto your plate. Everyone grabs a spoon and starts digging in. It's wonderfully French. Simple. Unpretentious. Ridiculously good. So yes, Chez Janou lives up to the hype. But don't just come for the mousse. Come for the lunch, stay for the neighbourhood, and spend the afternoon getting happily lost in one of the best corners of Paris. That's a Friday well spent.
