I noticed the bag of beans on the counter was roasted on 6/30 and marked down on clearance. Anyway, it's probably a perfectly fine place if you're not obsessed with excellent black coffee or high-quality espresso drinks. The space is large, there's lots of outdoor seating, and the staff is nice. I just wish I'd known going in that the coffee wasn't very good, so I'm writing this review for the other people out there who are equally insufferable about their coffee.

Tucked on a brick corner building in Pasadena, their simple signage is easy to miss (I've driven by so many times and never noticed!), but stepping inside, you find a spacious and inviting interior with ample table options and even a cozy fireplace in the back. Parking is street only, so you might have to walk a bit during peak times, but it's worth it for the atmosphere alone. There are a couple of outdoor tables too, if you want some fresh air. Jameson Brown is an artisan roaster sourcing beans from around the globe, barrels of beautiful coffee beans are on display and you can watch the baristas access them as they craft each drink to order. The menu is displayed on a giant blackboard, with special and seasonal offerings up front by the counter. New pastry selections include treats like calamansi cheesecake pandesal and sticky buns (with vegan options as well).
