Always love a women owned restaurant! There was a long queue but the wait was still reasonable. You ordered your food and paid then they will assign you the available table. Love the workers there. Very hard working people Tres Leche French Toast - 3/5 Three slices of Macrina Cinnamon Brioche, topped with vanilla ice cream, strawberry puree, fresh sliced strawberries and blueberries. Drizzled with condensed milk, whipped cream and powdered sugar. Served with a side of 3 leches. I really didn't like the strawberry puree that much, I'd suggest you to have it on the side instead. And this is really a normal french toast and the it's not soaked in leche. The leche is on the side. Steak a la Mexicana - 4/5 Grilled skirt steak with potatoes sautéed in ranchera salsa, side of rice and beans garnished with avocado and queso panela, and corn tortillas. The portion size was a bit smaller than i anticipated but the taste was amazing! The mimosas was such a great deal and tasty! Especially the guava flavors! Street parking was rough on the weekend so do come early. They do have a parking lot but it's extremely small.

La Chingona is THE spot for fish tacos. The fish portions are huge and the breading is crispy and perfectly holds the fish together. The texture is light, but the flavor is so tasty - everything you want a fish taco to be! I'm stuffed after 2 fish tacos. On the other hand, the tacos and burritos are just okay. I don't like that they include chunks of potatoes in both. The potatoes just overwhelm the flavor of anything else, and make the the tacos/burritos too heavy and filling. Their parking lot is on a huge hill with angled one way in parking. We have never tried parking in the lot, because street parking is way easier and there always seems to be street parking available. Service is always friendly and the decor is fun. The volume tends to be on the louder side with their music and being generally busy. They have plenty of options for both indoor, outdoor, and bar seating.

What a spot! This restaurant has been on my list for the longest time and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint at all! Highly recommend: - Mexican coffee - wet breakfast burrito The service was amazing. We were a pretty big group and they were so kind and helpful because we didn't had a reservation. So welcoming. Will definitely come back!

great place, fun decor, lots of menu options for meat eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians. as a vegetarian, i especially appreciated being told that the rice has chicken stock. we had a table of four, ordered different kinds of margaritas, chips and salsas and main dishes. quantity per order was reasonable for the price. the food was good but it didn't WOW me; i cook a lot of latin american foods and have lived in south america and traveled extensively throughout the spanish speaking world (including different parts of mexico) so i'm particularly picky. this is not to say the food was bad...it wasn't! the service was good and the people working obviously care a lot about the customer experience and the overall quality of the food. this is a solid choice for mexican food in west seattle.

Came here for the first time and love the decor, so much color! I got the special which was one taco with beans and rice- the rice was a little dry. The beans were very good though. The taco was very filling but I don't think it was worth what I paid. I will say the mango aqua was delicious!! We did get dessert and was very good!! Churro ice cream!! The service was ok. They were all very nice. Just wish that there was salsas, salt and seasonings were all at the table and not have to ask for them since it's an order first and then sit.

I went to my friend BD brunch last Sunday. I got tamale. We shared Mexican corn on the cobs and pandulce (sweet bread). The pork tamale was good and moist. The salsa added spicy flavor. I really enjoyed corn on the cobs. The sweet bread was okay, little dry for me. My friends like their foods. Everything tastes good. The burrito was big. The service was good. The inside restaurant was full of painting and art works. They even have art for sales in the bathroom. There is small parking lot and street parking.

Pro-tip: Arrive when they open, otherwise you may have a wait. Such a fun spot! Traveling from Texas, Mexican cuisine was far from the mind when looking for a spot to eat in Seattle. We were swayed by our Airbnb host who claimed La Chingona is "out of this world". He was right! The experience, and food, did not disappoint! Cafe en Olla to start, or if you order horchata instead it comes in a large mason jar, followed by a freshly squeezed juice. I tried the orange and carrot! So good. While dishes are expensive (we spent $75 for two adults), they are filling dishes. The steak and eggs had everything you needed (I could've done without the added cost of mole, but I wanted to try it), and the burrito was enjoyed with the different sauces. I will certainly want to try their baked goods during our next visit.

I always say California [Bay Area] has the best Mexican food, so it's hard to compare -- but this place hits the mark in every way. Seattle, your shrimp is amazing! Everything here is made fresh, and every bite was incredible. I highly recommend the shrimp and fish tacos, and the Michelada was hands-down the best I've ever had. We stayed in Seattle for four days and came here three times -- we even had to come back for brunch! This place is an absolute MUST. As for the service, it couldn't have been better -- everyone was welcoming, had great recommendations, and made us feel like part of yet another unforgettable experience with incredible food.

You for sure get what you pay for. At first I thought it was a little on the spendy side but the portions are large. I was very happy with the food and the service. The food was super delicious and my favorite part was the chips. They had the perfect amount of crispiness and not oily. The tacos were huge and extremely delicious. They also provide hot sauces which were mild and hot. They both had the perfect amount of heat to it. Also the decor in the place makes it feel that much more special. So glad we made a stop in and tried this newer place in west Seattle. For sure will be going back.

First time here for brunch and it did not disappoint. We came on a Sunday around 12pm. Street parking. The lot parking is tight. There's outdoor and indoor seating. I think it'll be really nice to sit outside once the weather is warmer. We ordered and picked our seat. I loved the ambiance. Festive, colorful, bright, and the staff was great and attentive to go with all of this. I got the pozole. Best I've ever eaten. So good. So filling. My partner got the French toast breakfast and it was so good. The French toast was amazing. Coffee was also good.

Tacos! Fish, shrimp, lengua, and campechano. Fish and shrimp were AMAZING.

The flavors of the food here are amazing! The interior is so nice, inviting, and fun. Hubby and I got here at about 5pm on a Saturday and we got a seat in the bar right away. But I will say by 5:30 we noticed people standing outside and waiting for seats. So there's that. Parking. Parking is tight. They do have a parking lot, but if you're not used to Seattle hills and tight ass parking, then the parking lot might be intimidating. Getting in is easy. But think "getting out". I suck at driving so my husband got in and out with no issues...but yeah. If you're weird about parking like me...you might want to scope it out first via google maps or something. Cool cool, back to food. The drinks here are SO good! We got the Spicy Cucumber and the Mezcal Watermelita. Both were good, but wow the mezcal watermelon one was AWESOME. I typically think Mezcal tastes like burnt rubber...but this drink was done SO well! Very good. But make sure you like Mezcal before ordering. Because yes, there's still that burnt rubber taste to it. For food-I got 4 tacos. My tacos were BOMBBBB. Hands down. So good. Hubby got the Carne Asada. And like any protein hungry male ordering Carne Asada would probably say...I need more meat. So the Care Asada was good...just always wish there were/was more protein to it. But that's all places, not just here. We finished with the churros and ice cream and these were the best churros I've ever had. Even compared to the churros you get off the streets of Cozumel. I also got a big horchata. Oh man. This is the first horchata I've ever had (I've had Rumchata-yum) and this was GREAT! Very happy I was able to try authentic horchata. 10/10 we would come back AND this is a place I would take my in-lawns (who retired in Cozumel) here. We had such a great time!

We've been many times since my first review almost a year ago, and this place has stolen my heart. The food is good whether it's the brunch or dinner, so morning, noon, or night. This place is also a fiesta. The ambiance is enchanting, and they add additional decoration for times like Valentine's or other holidays. Dia De Los Muertos is such a party, that we went in the morning for brunch and and the evening for dinner. You might encounter singers at brunch or Mariachi or event Aztecan dancers were there with a performance outside. The staff is very nice, but it's more than that. They are dedicated to the experience and making it right and making it nice. This place is alive with corazon and alma.

As far as the food, for the price point, I do feel we could have gone somewhere else and received better quality. The food wasn't terrible, but it didn't quite meet our expectations for what we paid. The biggest disappointment was our interaction with the bartender on 9/4 around 8:30 PM. Our group approached the bar simply trying to order a round of shots. From the beginning, her attitude came across as unnecessarily rude when she asked whether we had a table. She then looked at our group and said, "First of all, we can't have you up here." We genuinely did not know that guests seated at tables were supposed to order through their server. Had she simply explained that to us politely, we would have apologized, returned to our table, and ordered from there. The policy itself wasn't the issue. It was the way it was communicated. Aside from that interaction, we enjoyed our time and really appreciated Jadin for making our experience a positive one.

It was sweet, as expected, but not overly sweet. We got pan dulce with the coffee and both the concha and puerquito were fantastic. The food is authentic and if you are looking for authentic Mexican food, D'La Santa is the spot. We ordered the queso and the rajitas. Both appetizers are really good, came out super hot. Highly recommend. I got the carne asada plate and added an extra mini quesadilla. The carne is very seasoned so you have to eat it with the tortilla to balance out the saltiness. The service was fast and our waiter was very attentive.

This place isn't easy to get to. If you were to walk from the nearest light rail station, it takes…read moreabout 35 minutes - so the only other option is taking a bus from there. Despite the trek, I'm pretty happy to say that this was absolutely worth it as maybe the highest quality Mexican food in the Seattle area. The dishes here are not what you find at your typical Mexican restaurant. There's no chips and salsa, and the menu is small - only around 4 entrees and 4 small plates, along with a few appetizers. It's best to come here with someone else and find things to share - which is what I did with the small plates, since some of them come with two per order. We ended up ordering the maiz sourdough, the albacore tostadas, the brisket tacos, and tetela - finishing with the pan de elote for dessert. I'll start with what is absolutely their signature dish - the albacore tuna tostadas. I'm willing to say that this is the best dish I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. It comes in two tostadas - each with raw albacore tuna, mayo, avocado, and fried leeks - and oh my goodness is it spectacular. Everything starts from the base of it all - the tostada itself, which is so far and away the best tostada I've ever had it's not even a debate. Years of having tostadas shatter, or even crack on each bite left me fully unprepared for what was to come; a tostada that behaves like an architecturally sound disc. Seriously, you take a bite of this and the entire rest of it remains wholly intact. It's like a miracle. The texture reminds me of a Frito, it's got those slightly raised bumps and a similar thickness. And I haven't even gotten to the toppings yet. The raw tuna on top is perfect sashimi - it's soft, just fatty enough, and absolutely slides through your mouth at the lightest chew. There's also a lot more of it on the tostada than I expected. The kewpie mayo has a surprising spice to it - like the best version of spicy mayo that you've had; except it has a bit of a smoky flavor to it as well. The avocado adds earthiness, chill-ness, and a good level of fat. Lastly, the fried leeks on top provide that extra crunchy layer just to cap it all off. It's simply one of the best constructed dishes I've seen. It took a lot of willpower not to order another set of these. The other two small plates were good, but don't quite match up. The brisket tacos are small, but filled with toppings, including a ton of the dry-aged suadero. This beef was very good, containing a lot of fat and being quite juicy in each bite. I also loved the tortillas, which were some of the best corn tortillas I've had. It's clear they nixtamalize the corn used for these in-house. Still, this didn't feel that much more than a good taco. The tetela was also fine, but nothing too special as mostly just eggplant on the inside. Something else that was amazing though, was the maiz sourdough we ordered. It's easily one of the best bread appetizers I've had. The outside is so crispy without being too chewy, while the inside is hot, fluffy, and so easy to tear apart. I simply can't get over how amazing the crust is on this bread - it wraps all the way around, and is baked to absolute perfection. The included honey butter is also really well salted and sweet, but I do wish there was more of it. For dessert, we had the pan de elote - which is a sweet corn cake with blackberry jam and a whipped cream. I found the whipped cream fascinating; rather than being too sweat, it instead had a lighter flavor that focused more on the soft and creamy texture than traditional whipped cream. The combination of the super-fresh blackberry jam and texture of the whipped cream added a ton of moisture to the corn cake - which otherwise resembled kind of a sweet cornbread. Also, the portions on the cake were crazy good. All that said, this is quite an expensive place. For what we had, per person it ended up being over $60 without any drinks. For the tostada and tacos especially, you're paying 10+ dollars/person for a single tostada or taco. I would say it's worth the price for the tostada, but not for the taco. Overall, it is certainly high-end, but the quality of food here is so high it's an absolute recommend from me. 9.25/10

Legitimately that good. I honestly came by Pancita from an Eater article and Instagram post and jokingly suggested it to my friend when we already had dinner/drink plans. We both collectively lost our minds and decided, it was DOUBLE DINNER night and made 8:15 pm resys at Pancita. I do highly recommend reservations by the way, esp on weekend nights. We thankfully found street parking just outside and were seated promptly. Truly loved how simple and charming the interior was. I'll be honest, we were dying from 1st dinner even though we only ate a few bites but being gluttons, we got the tomato salad (my favorite bite of the entire evening), my friend got the suadero tacos for herself, and I ordered the enfrijoladas (mushroom) with a side of tortillas -- I couldn't resist! Everything I tasted was delicious and I am honestly planning my next trip back ASAP. We, of course, couldn't resist dessert cause WHEN I TELL YOU THAT CORN CAKE HAS MY ENTIRE HEART. If the capslock wasn't apparent, the dessert was incredible, giantly sized, and lives rent free in my head 5ever. Definitely not the cheapest Mexican restaurant around, but you're paying for the attention to detail and carefully sourced ingredients. My food was really tasty. The way their ordering works for most menu items is you pick your antojito and then your guisado (the "vessel" and "filling," I guess). I went with gorditas with chicken. All the antojitos are made with hand-made masa (nixtamal corn dough) that uses carefully sourced heirloom maize (corn), and the gorditas were no exception. The masa was really tasty and the texture was perfect. The chicken guisado was good, and I think I'll try another type depending on what they have available the next time stop in during lunch. I'm SO glad we stumbled into this place during our stay in Seattle. Frankly, our expectations are often pretty low the further we get from the border of Mexico. But this place blew us away! So authentic and well thought out, from the salsa bar, the freshly fried tortilla chips and my posole was absolutely incredible! Felt like I was eating at a relatives home, staff was friendly enough and the place is so clean and cutely decorated. 100% will be returning the next time we make a trip out to Seattle, thank you to the team for providing such a great experience for those of us who just miss home

First off I live in Texas so I am always a bit skeptical of Mexican Food outside of Texas, Arizona,…read moreNew Mexico and California. That being said the I had the carne asada wet burrito with both read and verde sauce on top. It had a really good flavor! The carne asada was chopped pretty small so it was not easy to get a whole bite. Overall it was delicious and hit the spot. I am not big on paying for chips and salsa which $5.00 especially when I have to get up and walk over to the salsa bar. I wish they would have labeled the salsa as well. The vibe was casual and they have outdoor covered patio. Now on to the service: first my burrito came out very quick and was hot. The big reason for two star is the lack of service by the wait staff. I ordered a soda water with Ice which I was not charged for. I hate when I have to pay for carbonated water. Sadly the your server did not pay attention to my drink or check on me for most of my meal. She finally came over and I asked for a refill she took the glass but did not return. When she walked back over I had to remind her of my soda water. When she brought the check I put my card down and again it took a while for her to return. I would be willing to extend some grace if the restaurant was packed but it was virtually empty. I base a lot of my review on service and food quality. But slow service or lack there of will generally mean I don't return even though the food was good and came out quick. Too bad because it was a good meal especially for the price $24.00 including the chips and salsa before tax. Maybe you will have a better experience.
