can i give this place more than 5 stars? ive had quite a few tacos, but dare i say this is the Best Taco ive had in seattle and maybe in My Life! they only have one thing on the menu (three ways, taco or crispy taco or quesadilla) and they do it so so well! the carne asada is so incredibly flavorful, smoky, not dry or tough! all the ingredients are chopped up finely in uniform pieces, it almost looks like fine dining. it comes with two salsas, a red and a green, both definitely pack a punch, the green one was my favorite. it came with a lime and cucumber, which i thought was kinda funny but turned out to be a wonderful palate cleanser. and let me emphasize, do NOT sleep on that nutella hazelnut cookie. oh my god. i thought it was such a weird addition to their menu but no, i was sorely mistaken. its just as good as their taco and the perfect finishing touch to the meal. the edges were crispy and caramelly, theres big pieces of whole hazelnut throughout, the center had a big dollop of nutella, and on top a sprinkle of maldon salt. just wow.

Just tried this spot the other day and it was amazing! I had never tried a vampire before but it was like the perfect combination of a taco and a sope, they absolutely loaded it with cheese and meat. The horchata was alright but THE COOKIE was amazing!! Definitely will be going back.

Came in the evening around 9pm on Friday night. I thought it was interesting that they omitted cilantro and tomato, instead opting for tomato sauce to top the tacos. They cut the onion real small, so the inside of the tacos were more integrated together. Their only meat option is carne asada. As a pork girlie, I was surprised but it was still good. I really liked the vampiro - the taco shell was hard and crunchy, and there was a good amount of melted cheese inside. The cookie was also good, and I was surprised to see whole almonds inside. They were cooked together though, so it wasn't too hard. The texture of the cookie was soft and moist. I would come back again - especially for late night eats since it's open till 2am!

We found this newly opened taco shop on Capitol Hill over the weekend, walking past it on the way to the light rail station. It's a really intriguing shop, with a tiny menu and only a single meat selection. That's a really great sign - it shows the owners really care about perfecting a particular dish, much like the hawker stands found throughout Asia. Unfortunately we had just eaten dinner and couldn't stomach another bite! I returned a couple of days later for lunch. Unlike the weekend evening, it wasn't too crowded with only 5 or 6 customers inside in a space with enough chairs to sit 40+ guests. I ordered on the kiosk and less than ten minutes later, my food was ready. All meals are served with a slice of raw cucumber, a lime wedge, and two types of salsa, packaged in sealed plastic bags. Taco ($5.95) - Two small corn tortillas lie underneath a massive mound of carne asada and vegetables. The asada, chopped fresh to order, arrives tender and full of beefy flavor. It's seasoned well, and is stripped of all fatty and gristly parts, making for an easy eating experience. The meat is not particularly charred, but it is somewhat smoky; plenty of mesquite bags on the side of the eating area show the amount of charcoal they go through regularly. The beef is first topped with an extremely finely chopped (perhaps done in a food processor?) mixture of cabbage and red onion. Apparently this, along with the watery tomato sauce on top, is one of the hallmarks of Sinaloan-style tacos. In other taco styles, veggies are diced rather than finely chopped to add some texture to the meal. In this case, everything included is the same tender texture with nothing to really delight the palette. There's then a red tomato salsa slathered on top. The salsa isn't a fresh one that I expected - instead it's cooked down, more like a tomato sauce than fresh pico de gallo, yet acidic enough that I originally thought the veggies were slightly pickled. They pack the taco with so much filling that simply trying to lift the taco up causes a mound of ingredients to drop out. I wish they had utensils around, as I found myself furiously picking up bits of leftover veggies and meat with my fingers after finishing the taco. The taco is served lukewarm and I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps they spend too much time chopping up the meat and assembling, which combined with the cold toppings makes a room temperature meal. (4/5) Vampiro ($7.95) - The vampiro, another Sinaloan specialty, is exactly the same as the taco, except they add tons of cheese in between the two corn tortillas, then griddle it on the flat top adding a somewhat baked crunch to the dish, compared to the taco which doesn't have any crunch at all. (4/5) After leaving, I did some more research. Tacos Cometa was originally a taco stand that got popular enough to warrant expansion to a full fledged restaurant. While I have never been to the original stand, I did look at some photos from other reviews. Tacos used to be $4 and Vampiros $5 just before they moved! Oomph that 50% increase in prices! Overalls Tacos Cometa serves some good grub. But man, I remember just a couple of years ago eating dollar tacos on Taco Tuesdays... Bathrooms - Larger ones with multiple stalls

After reading about this spot in the Seattle Times a couple of weeks ago (they rarely steer us wrong), we decided to check it out today - and were pleasantly surprised to find no line. We fully expected a wait! While ordering was quick, the food did take a bit of time to come out. The menu is simple: carne asada is the only meat option, and for vegetarians or vegans, they currently offer mushrooms. But honestly, that narrow focus seems to work in their favor :: they've clearly perfected what they do. The carne asada is thinly chopped, nicely grilled, and has an incredible smoky flavor that really sets it apart. It's topped with cabbage, onions, and a tomato-based sauce that brings everything together. We also tried the Vampiro version, which comes on a grilled, cheesy tortilla. It was tasty, but didn't travel especially well as part of our to-go order. For the extra couple of dollars, we didn't find it quite as worth it this time - but if we were dining in, we'd absolutely give it another shot. They offer two sauces: a red and a green. Both are packed with flavor. The red starts off mild, almost deceivingly so, before building into a definite kick. The green sauce leans more tomatillo-forward and is milder, but just as enjoyable. And of course, we couldn't skip dessert. The brown butter Nutella sea salt cookie completely wowed us on the first bite - crispy edges, rich buttery flavor, just so good. We decided to warm it up for about 30 seconds, and that took it to another level. The brown butter, melty Nutella, whole hazelnuts, and sea salt came together like a perfect little symphony an ideal way to end our meal. Looking forward to going back and trying more!

The flavor within these tacos are phenomenal! The two sauces that's accompany are amazing as well! I wish there were more protein options but nonetheless fully worth the experience. The team is friendly and service is speedy and easy.

Caught the light rail up to Capitol Hill and walked SB on Broadway. It was a busy place after work. They had kiosks but I walked past them and went straight to the counter. You just never know when you'll get to interact with the owner(s). It makes the dining experience more memorable. Friendly helpful service. I ordered a taco and a quesadilla. Both were really good. Effort and skill was put into food prep. I liked the cucumber slice as a palate cleanser. Good music. I like interior design. It's a good use of space. Front of house is bright and clean. They have booths and counter seating. I'm glad they're on Capitol Hill. Tacos Chukis has a worthy competitor. I'm sure students from Seattle U and Seattle Central will visit this taco shop. It's pretty easy to get here as it's near the light rail station, the First Hill Streetcar, and regional bus stops. Make sure you check their hours of operation before you visit.

The customer service here from the owner was nice. You don't really interact with staff much here because you order at a kiosk. The space is a decent size with plenty enough seating. The tacos and horchata drink here were super delicious! Overall, I'd recommend this fast food place for Mexican food if you're ever on Capitol Hill and I'd definitely come back here again!

One of the best tacos I've ever had -- period. This little hole-in-the-wall stand only runs Fridays and Saturdays from 6-11pm, but it's so worth planning around. The meat is made to order -- you literally watch them grill it fresh, throw it on a wooden block, and go at it with a cleaver. It adds a whole extra layer to the experience. The tacos are loaded, super flavorful, and they don't skimp on anything. High-quality meat, great seasoning, and every bite hits. It's still pretty under-the-radar, but word's starting to get out. I'm excited to bring my friends here. Definitely worth trying.

This restaurant just opened! It's on the corner of Broadway and Pine. The tacos are unbelievable and they serve just three things - either a taco, quesadilla, or a toastada with carne asada. Comes with a cucumber and two salsas. Can't recommend this new restaurant's enough. The only feedback I would give is have a salsa bar out instead of serving the salsas in premade baggies. Feels like a waste of plastic.

The tacos are good. They're flavorful, spicy, and the meat is finely chopped, almost like ground meat, and they pile it on. It's not a usual tacos but still good. However, there is no salsa bar. I like to drench my tacos in sauce and lime, so that was disappointing. It's also pretty expensive at almost 6 dollars each. I like the retro vibe of the place as well.

We appreciated all of the local businesses being able to get such heavy traffic because you don't see that too much in large cities. Our favorite food hands down was the gourmet deep fried PB & J. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The po boy was perfect to share, amongst all the other food we ordered. Can't remember the last time where I've had slaw done right, but WYAM coleslaw was perfect. The grits were so cheesy and the seasoning was on point.
