The portions here are very large! I ordered the lobster and crab bisque and it was the biggest bowl of soup ever! However, the crab was imitation and I didn't taste much lobster. My friend had the baked ziti which was delicious! I ordered the fillet of sole franchaise and while the fish and coating was tasty, the lemon sauce not so much. It kind of reminded me of the texture of egg drop soup. Also my husband didn't care for the meatballs. He said they didn't taste homemade. The service was good, very nice waitress. Prices were a little high, but portions are large. The tip is added automatically 20 percent. No splitting checks and you have to bag your own leftovers which isn't easy with giant plates and small tables. The ambiance was okay with cute valentine decorations, but it actually looked more like a pizzeria trying to be a restaurant. Btw the pizza was really yummy! Found this place just the other day. Very nice ambience inside and you can tell it's definitely owned by an old school Brooklyn Italian American family. I only had the pizza and while it is definitely a step above the rest of the pizza places that are in Brooklyn, and definitely had a little nostalgic taste from the old days of how Pizza used to be in brooklyn, I wasn't overly thrilled with it but it definitely wasn't bad either. I had their Sicilian vodka slice which I've never seen before and that was just okay. I also had their fresh mozzarella slice which was again, okay. I also had their regular slice which definitely reminded me of the old days a bit more. The lady helping me, seems like she had a very long day and I know if that's like being in retail but a smile on your face would definitely make a difference. Been going there for years weekly on my way to work. The food no matter what I order is always great. They just repainted the entire place looks bright and bigger. Very decent Italian restaurant around the neighborhood. We do takeouts and have dine in before. We waited a good 30 mins for dinner. If you do decide on going go earlier to svoid resting late. There always a wait for both. When we dined in we were really disappointed on their services. We had to wait a good 20 minutes for the check! We should've walked out. If they care about customer paying than y should should we? It was crazy. Their pizzas were awesome. They also sale Them by the slices. Our favorite is the Margarita thin pizza. I've never been this angry writing a review about a place 5 mins walk away from my house. Three times I ordered delivery from this place during the past two years , they could not find my house . That might be the most ridiculous thing on the planet . However I did enjoy the food 50% of the time , so I would walk out of my way to go get the food as take out most of the time . Yet today I didn't want to get out , so I ordered " non contact delivery" due to Covid-19 . Nearly one hour later I called casa Bella , the guy immediately asked " what's your address ?? The delivery guy said there were no houses . Your address must be wrong ." That literally pissed me off so much especially this is the forth time they did this to me . Just because your delivery guy can't read the map within 5 mins walking distance doesn't mean I don't know how to type my address . Finally when I saw the delivery guy , if he said sorry for the wait and inconvenience , I would not complain about anything . Instead, he said" oh you didn't pick up my call . I didn't want to leave the food outside . This is a four story apartment building . So many people . You know !" That angered me to the next level . I live in a HOUSE! Two stories high . The store called me stated he could not find my house . And yet he was lying to my face saying he didn't just want to put the food outside . Mind you this was meant to be a " non contact " delivery . As a middle aged man , he could not own up to his mistake that he could not read the house number , nor could he read the map . He chose to lie to his supposedly non contact customer . Nice ! All I got was room temperature pizza . The hot food was warm enough , not going to lie .I wish I didn't pay the food , delivery and tips with my card up front . That guy didn't deserve a 18% tip. La Casa Bella has always been a regular place for me and my parents. Their food never disappoints and the portions are always generous. They have casual dinner options like pizza and calzones as well as fancier meat and pasta dishes. Last night we ordered delivery and the food arrived within 45 minutes (this is the usual time it takes, it's worth it for the quality). I ordered the Cappellini in pink sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and capers. The flavor of this sauce is seriously one of my favorites, very similar to vodka but less tangy and a bit sweeter. My friend introduced me to this place that we often drive by without thinking twice about because there's so many pizzerias around. He said that they have the best vodka slice. He's pretty right. We ordered a vodka pie to go one night, and while it's a pretty creamy and heavy slice loaded with cheese, it totally hits the spot. We got spaghetti and meatballs, mild buffalo wings, and a rice all special. More than enough food for two people! Their portion s are big and pretty worth the price. The spaghetti was cooked al dente and comes with two large meatballs. The rice ball special is the rice ball split open, their rice ball doesn't have any meat filling like some other pizzerias. They bake it with loads of ricotta, mozzarella and marinara. Super filling! Their buffalo wing sauce had a slight taste of sweet bbq to it, which I enjoyed, not the usually orangey buffalo wings I'm used to though, maybe their hot ones are a bit different. I enjoyed these none the less, pretty juicy and not soggy. A pretty solid place in the neighborhood if you want good pizza and some solid pasta. portions are big! My go to is the Chicken Parm with the side upgraded to Penne Vodka. They LOAD the plate with fork tender Chicken parm and heavy sauce and cheese and give a side plate of penne vodka that is to die for. I hadn't been here in a while and was looking forward to going back. The food is still very good, that's not an issue. If my review was just for the food there would be more stars. Servers are lovely, though the food did take a long time and the place was not even half full. However, in addition to passing on the credit card fees to the customer, as is the unfortunate norm these days, the restaurant also charges a 4% "Operating Fee" that you don't find out about until the bill comes. An "operating fee"? for a restaurant? You want the customer to pay for you to do business and then sneakily put that info on the bill jacket?! This is the way to lose customers. I have never heard of this. Customers should not be paying a fee on top of the cost of service, food, a tip and maybe the credit card fee. Everything is already priced to earn the business a profit. Took 40 minutes to make a Caesar salad for take out and I ordered ahead. When I arrived they told me 15 minutes than i watched them do everything but start making my food. By the time they finally started to make the grilled chicken for the salad I was standing there for 20+ minutes. The food took another 10 minutes to be done witch is normal but by then my lunch break for work was over. No one was in the restaurant when I first walked in I don't understand what took so long to start making my food and to top it off they didn't give me any napkins or plastic fork and knife. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! I ordered on Seamless. After 1 hour and 45 min of waiting, the food came and it was disgusting. (See photos) The vodka slice tasted like cardboard and the cheese peeled right off while eating it. It was not even melted onto the pizza (see pic). The chicken roll was burnt on both sides and soggy on the bottom on top of being reheated multiple times. The chicken roll wasn't even full inside. The rice ball was cracked, burnt as well, as hard as a rock and tasted disgusting. The girls that work there are awful at customer service. The first time I called (after waiting 1 hour and 15 min), they couldn't even find my online order. Then she said "the driver is on his way". She couldn't even tell me where he was or how much longer. After waiting another 30 min, I called back and "another girl" (sounded like the same one) said that there are other orders besides mine to deliver. Although the food may still be good we will never eat there again. We walked in to loud rap music and told the waitress to please lower the music. There was only one other table seated and we could not hear ourselves think let alone speak. Sheus that she could not lower the music nor change the channel to more dinner friendly music. She also said that she has to listen to this music all day when she is serving and it is unpleasant for her as well. One of the guys lowered the music for about 3minutes while we ordered food and then it was raised again to a loud decibel and horrible music. When you have great food and awesome customer service, what else can you really ask for? I discovered this place 2 years ago. I love their vodka Sicilian slice, their meatballs, their pizzas etc... (I haven't tried anything that I wasn't happy with) The service is also so wonderful. I've been lucky enough to come on days that Lisa works. She always has a friendly welcoming vibe. I've lived here my whole life. We have plenty of great Italian restaurants in south Brooklyn. I can say undoubtedly that there is no better than La Casa Bella. Some comparable, but no better. Their capellini pasta special is the best pasta dish I've EVER had. Their Caesar salad can only be rivaled by Brooklyn Roots in Bay Ridge, and it's a draw. Their chicken Francese amazing. Orrechette with sausage and Broccolirabe, also amazing. Even their pizza is spot on. This place is a true gem, slightly off the beaten path, but worth the trip.
