Cute cafe with outdoor seating, indoor seating fills out fast but usually a seat opens up while waiting for your food. They have a special menu on top of their regular menu. We enjoyed their lemon lavender olive oil cake and had their popular egg cheese breakfast sandwich and the taste truly surprised us in a very delicious way, definitely worth it! read more

My favorite for EVERYTHING. Best espresso, most delicious sandwiches and the cutest sweets. Dinner is creative and comforting shareable plates, amazing beer, wine and mocktails and incredible desserts. I think the prices are reasonable because everything is clearly very high quality. Just love it there so much! read more

My favorite restaurant in Bushwick. Worth the wait. Sandwiches never miss. So so good.

Good food , good breakfast , amazing place everything is yummy even their cakes their coffee is so good 10 stars for cantine loved it

The food here is incredible. I love suggesting this place and coming here. The service is mid, but the vibes are great. Really cute area. Don't skip the desserts they are phenomenal. read more

Avoid this terrible place with overpriced sandwiches and really hostile servers. When I placed my order, they said there was a 25-minute wait to be served. When I opened my laptop to do some time-sensitive work while I was waiting for the establishment to serve me my food, they said they have a no-laptop policy, even if they are making you wait 25 minutes, and go on the sidewalk in the misty cold if you need to use the laptop. I wasn't occupying a table; rather, only a stool on the side. I had to cancel the order and they didn't refund my tip even though they didn't serve me the sandwich. There are better places around with kind and friendly wait staff. read more

Everytime I've come here the food has been absolutely delicious but most of the people working are extremely rude. Came to dinner tonight at 6pm (opening time for dinner) and at 6:45, while we were still eating dessert, we were told to close out the bill. We were going to order another round of drinks but felt so awkward we just left. Wish the service matched the food quality. Have come for lunch as well and been met with the same rudeness behind the counter. read more

I honestly wasn't looking forward to coming here, but wife felt to drop by. The first thing we tried was the lemon pound cake and bread pudding cake, and wow, really nice flavors. Then I followed it with a pomegranate, orange juice, Topo Chico, Mix, kiss on the Beach. That's probably my new drink for this summer! Drank that with an amazing BLT, yeah even the blt was really good. Cute spot, seems like a trendy place, but has the drinks and foods to back it up. Worth a drop in. read more

I ordered the chicken cutlet, very delicious and large portion. Actually came back on to yelp to order again!

This spot is so cute and great for outside seating (very Parisian). One of my qualms though is their lack of price labeling for desserts. I went in for a slice of the orange cake (theres no pricing by the cake)...thinking it coudlnt be that expensive. The cake was $9.50 for ONE slice. Then I am expected to tip 20% on someone handing over my slice (okay)? Mind you I've worked in the food industry for about 8 years of my life. The slice came to around $14! I know times are hard for businesses but they are also hard for patrons/customers. The least you could do is to put you prices more clearly. read more

Just stopped in while awaiting my AirBnB checkin. Delicious egg. cheese, poblano sandwich. Great coffee, quick, pleasant service. Would definitely come back if I lived here! read more

Went with my daughter for dinner. Menu was spectacular and everything was just as delicious as it sounded. There were 3 of us so we chose several items and were not disappointed with any of them. The French Onion Soup Bread was beyond incredible. Our server was a delight and we had a wonderful meal. Cannot wait for my next visit to see what is on the menu the next time I'm in town. read more

Got the cauliflower sandwich, the special hot chicken sandwich and the crispy potatoes. They were all really good and delicious. The chicken was crispy (wish it was a tad spicier), the cauliflower sandwich is amazing and my favorite thing from here (as a meat eater), and the crispy potatoes are always just solidly good. The ambiance though was a little chaotic feeling. I felt really claustrophobic in there, as if everyone around me was just a bit too* close together. The table arrangement felt strange. I get wanting to maximize seating but one table was in such a weird tight corner, one by where everyone walked by to the bathroom, and one had a plant where someone would be seated by the window? Also there were several 4-seater tables that just had a single person at them just reading or on their phones with a coffee while groups were waiting. I get that it's seat yourself/first come but it felt really inconsiderate as parties of 3 would awkwardly cram into/sideways into a 2 seater table while that was happening. I wouldn't come back to dine in for sure. But the food is delicious so back to take out exclusively for me. read more

The food here is top notch, the chicken cutlet is fantastic, and the servers and staff were so kind. * The A/C seemed to not be on or working well. My girlfriend and I were melting, but it was worth it. read more

I discovered La Cantine because they provided food at the BLM vigil in Maria Hernandez Park. So, to start, they got major props from me for supporting the cause and providing for their local community. I took a chocolate chip cookie, and oh man, it was the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had! It was thin and chewy with huge chocolate discs in it. It was even delicious and perfectly fresh even when I ate it the next day. I look forward to visiting their storefront once things open up! read more

A friend has been recommending La Cantine to us for quite some time and finally made it! Both coffee and food was 10/10. Atmosphere inside is very cute. We were unable to get a table inside as it is very small inside, but outside seating was nice and clean. read more

Cute place! Came here before a concert one night for a late lunch and loved it. La Cantine - Olive oil cake with lavender lemon syrup! And chocolate breading pudding - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I do not know where to begin. I'll start from the staff. Therefore, I'll begin at the bottom. The customer service and overall attitudes from the staff are absolutely horrid and not conducive to the $30 lunch of a turkey sandwich and chai latte. when asked for silverware or napkins, they expect you to get up from your table (whether inside or outside) and get them yourself. What am I tipping you for exactly? And if they do choose to do their job and bring you silverware or napkins, they do so in the most begrudgingly demeanor possible. I live nearby and have frequented this establishment more than enough times to draw this conclusion. Next, the prices for these basic menu options are essentially highway robbery. My dirty chai latte comes out to nearly $12 with 18% tip, it's $9.80 prior. A sandwich and a coffee beverage is about $25. I could go get the black truffle gnocchi from Mastros for the same price. Paired with unsavory attitudes from the staff? No thank you. Lastly, the food tastes very decent. But, you might as well to go a 4 star restaurant in Manhattan. Unless you're a masochist, then go here. read more

I came here to have a cute girly brunch with my friend at the start of spring. It was wonderful! They had a very minimal feminine aesthetic and the menu was full of healthy choices. We also could not leave without trying out the dessert and a bit of pastry. One lil set back was just the lattes, although they did taste great, it just was missing a bit of a punch for extra caffeine. I had such an enjoyable experience with the server here and although you order at the front, the servers were very attentive to the tables and kept them tidy. It is a small seating space and you are pretty close to your neighbors. However, the crowd it attracted is pretty hip and mostly a nice mix of non binary, lgbtq and women. What a great addition to the neighborhood! read more

I stopped by this spot twice during a long weekend in Bushwick with my friend from college. Admittedly, this place was just around the corner from her apartment, but I kept coming back for the great service and great food! I had La Fall Vegan on a whim and was happy to find that it was a really light but filling lunch. The acidity of the vegetables complimented the earthiness of the hummus and poblano peppers. The second stint I came back to try one of their beautiful cakes and packed away a slice of their olive oil cake in 3 seconds flat. The staff were so nice and happy to recommend things to me since they knew I was only visiting for the weekend. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. read more

Sunsets/La Cantine is a hidden neighborhood gem to try for dinner. The Cacio e Pepe tapioca bites are life changing and the vibes inside are so good. This pleasant, quaint restaurant is quite popular. I arrived at 1pm on a Monday and it was quite busy. Those of us in line were told that there would be a thirty-minute wait on food. For me, I was only ordering one sandwich, so they said mine might not take quite so long as the wait time communicated. I ordered the jambon beurre sandwich. Bread, ham, salted butter, Comte cheese ($2 surcharge), and sliced cornichons, I believe. With tip it was $20. Expensive. The sandwich was pretty good. Could have been a tad bigger, given the price. And while there was plenty of ham, I don't remember it being that flavorful. But this is the only place in the Williamsburg/Bushwick area to get a jambon beurre. Much cheaper than flying to Paris. I enjoyed eating my sandwich at one of the tables outside. Perhaps next time I will try some pastries. I have given up eating sweets and desserts for Lent this year. read more

What a gem. Everything they make here is fantastic -- the owner is the sweetest, the menu is comforting and the drinks are imaginative and fun. I can't stress the chicken cutlet sandwich enough. La Cantine is a must! If you're in the Bushwick area, looking to satisfy your sweet tooth then do your tastebuds a favor and order from their tasty menu. Saying their food is good is an understatement. It's delicious and I can't wait to go back to try more of their menu. This time, which was my first visit, I ordered hot chocolate with oat milk and a slice of cake. Their hot chocolate, which wasn't too hot, is among the best that I've had in NYC. It had a subtle sweetness that electrified my pleasure-food sensors. I was in food heaven. The cake also had a subtle quality to it. It was delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The icing and jam delicately sandwiched the soft moist cake in superb fashion. They appear to use highly quality ingredients, which you can clearly taste. La Cantine is a beautiful restaurant, offering indoor and outdoor dining. It's very clean and well laid out. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their inventory. Staff also followed and enforced the City's social distancing guidelines, which was very nice. I highly recommend La Cantine. read more

Listen... my weekend is not complete without a Jambon Buerre and an Iced Lavender Latte from La Cantine. Like clockwork I wake up every Saturday and my body instantly craves the crunch of ham and butter between baguette and cornichon. My partner and I recommend this place to everyone, only to find that everyone already knows and feels the same way we do. It is simply our favorite, and apparently the entirety of Bushwick's, favorite spot for morning to late afternoon bites and bevs. I will end this by saying that La Cantine deserves a Michelin star. Multiple Michelin stars. read more
