    Peach Cube

A few years ago, I got takeout from here and got the best French dip sandwich of my life. Turns out it was a special, and I've been missing it dearly ever since. I returned this weekend with a friend to try some of their other sandwiches and had a lovely meal. The staff are kind and accommodating and they have plenty of nice outdoor seating, it's a little more crowded inside. The toasted fennel ranch chicken cutlet was flavorful, crispy, and the bread was notably good. I liked the homemade ranch on there and the fennel flavor really came through. The peach cube was a yummy end to the meal, light not terribly sweet. We want to come back for dinner, apparently the nighttime desserts are epic!

This is a great neighborhood cafe with an awesome menu. We both got the chickpea salad sandwich which is so good and I got a chai latte which was also stellar. There are so many baked goods that look tempting so I will have to come back for those!

A cute neighborhood spot with delicious food and great wine -- the staff here is so kind! Standouts include Corn Ribs, Corn Agnolotti, Crispy Potatos and Corn Panna Cotta. I'll be back soon!

Came for lunch on a Saturday at 12:15 PM and it was packed. You order at the counter and seating is first-come, first-served. I tried the chicken cutlet sandwich, crispy potatoes and lemon olive oil cake. Everything was so good! Dinner / dinner desserts also look excellent (via their IG), so I would return for that as well.

Oh my god, one of the best sandwiches to ever grace the earth. They have a crazy rotating menu full of inventive, but approachable sandwiches and treats. I got their short rib on sourdough. It was a messy concoction of savory flavors, and little sprinkles of acidity and sweetness. It was rich, and oozing with flavor. Their corner spot is super cozy and homey. Small, and ready for friends and family to gather alike. The workers are great. And they have some dang good pastries staring you down as well. When you dream of the perfect sandwich, you dream of la cantine

The earl grey pudding special was Great! The little crunchies on top - delectable. Olive oil cake was just OK to me, a tad dry...

A cheeky French name appears to be in vogue these days. While Le Dive and Le French Diner undersell the scope of their ambitions, La Cantine is arguably in fact a canteen - albeit a very good one. I tried the pesto egg cheese sandwich, which was the perfect snack after a bike ride on a sunny day. The scrambled eggs were perfectly soft, and no one's complaining about the generous layer of mayo on the brioche. It gets popping here, so be prepared to wait 45 minutes+ on a busy day.

No one, and I mean literally no one is doing it like La Cantine/Sunsets at La Cantine. Bright, intentional, delicious, flavor-forward, and smart dishes. An incredible wine program, a quaint and cute inside, and an ever changing seasonal menu highlighting really fresh ingredients. I'm quite blown away. Make that reservation and go. I will and have been back so many times. Never change!!!

I am extremely passionate about la Cantine thanks to their chicken cutlet sandwiches they are the absolute best. Fresh, thin, crispy. Love the specials menu but hate how fast they run out. Love the quality and ingenuity of the ingredients and recipes. Love the cut of the lettuce. Could the environment be more warm and welcoming? Absolutely. Does it matter? Absolutely not. I'm not coming for friendship, I'm coming for cutlets.

Incredibly good. Everything looks as yummy as what you see online. I got a mortadella sandwich with arugula and aioli. Scrumptious. I also ended up ordering my birthday cake from here cause i loved the flourless chocolate cake so much. The location itself is a bit small but the service is great. I went on a Sunday afternoon so it was quite packed but was able to get a table. I understand why they have a no laptop policy on weekends! They change their menu everyday, which is so exciting but they also have staple items.

This is one of my favorite places to get lunch. I love their iced lavender latte with whole milk. The lavender syrup is delicious and made in house, so that's probably what makes this place special. Any place that that's the time to make their own syrup is five stars in my book. They also have specials that change each week, so far haven't had a sandwich from the specials I didn't like. They always make them with a lot of different toppings and there's lots of variety when it comes to the sandwiches. I really love this place and highly recommend it if you are ever in Bushwick!

Good but severely overpriced. Two coffees and a banana bread for almost $20 is Highway robbery in my opinion

Such a great neighbor. Delicious food, pretty decor, and really kind wait staff. My family and I visit La Cantine at least once a week.

The host had even set a table aside for us with coloring pages (based on the mural on the opposite wall, which they loved realizing). Everything was absolutely perfect. The Gougère (a cheese puff pastry) was airy, light and I loved it, more than anyone else at the table. The fried artichokes were more broiled (tasted healthier) and came in a slightly acidic tahini sauce. The sauce was a light layer on the dish instead of on top to keep the brussel sprouts from getting soggy. I got the moules frites, fantastic, no notes. My son got the kids steak and fries which came with a salad he ate first. The price ($22) for a "kids" meal seemed steep, but the steak alone was probably worth the price, and actually seasoned. This is the type of kids meal that builds kids who actually like food. We got some zero cocktails (not enough sleep to drink and travel the next day) and they were great. If I'm at the NU hotel again, this is going to be a must stop place. Total bull was 222 (before tip) for 3 adults and 2 kids. So expensive, but well worth it, and honestly not terrible for NYC standards.

It was decently full on a Tuesday afternoon. It's bigger than expected since there's seats around the corner from the back and there's a patio in the back. It looked like most of the other guests didn't order from Restaurant Week. Some of them were sharing salads that looked really big for an appetizer. I ordered chilled corn vichyssoise and burger royale. My friend ordered frenchie salad and moules normande. Our portions weren't as crazy what we saw other people get. I like how my chilled corn vichyssoise is creamy and refreshing without being too cold or sweet. The radish, watervress, and pickled okra provided different textures and flavors with each sip. They also sprinkle chives and some oil on top to add more layers. My friend's frenchie salad came out to be a few large pieces of lettuce leaves spread out with dressing and toppings added on top. She found it a bit tiring to need to cut up the large leaves, and the ratio of toppings with greens is off. She found it to be too much dressing and bacon. There were small bits of something we're not sure of, might be mustard seeds. We like how there's a small crunch and some earthy flavor, not too strong. For mains, my burger royale came out medium rare as requested. It was smaller than expected but with a double patty, the portions are sufficient. I like how they used raclette cheese which is more unique and comes with a nice cheese pull. The french dressing added to the bun was a little too wet and oily but tolerable. I like how the lettuce is shredded which helps distribute it amongst bites. The fries are thin which is also what I prefer more. They were slightly too brown for me. It's so funny the way they pile up the fries. I can't imagine myself finishing it but will be disappointed if it's a smaller pile. Many pieces were short which made it hard to pick up. Overall decent portions and flavors. I'd be open to coming again if I'm looking for a restaurant in the area.
