Resturant week link up..stopped here for a bite and left a bit disappointed. The resturant was cozy and staff friendly however the food was not to my liking. Our mains were different in temperature..the beef room temp and my salmon cooked on the outside but raw on the inside. I had to sent it back and wait another 15 minutes fir my meal. Hoping to go back at have a different expierence

Another great restaurant week try and it was good. Celebrating with friends at new places always put a great addition to the evening. The place started to get full around the time of our reservation. It's a bit cozy in there as the tables are close but the place is dimly lit giving an intimate feeling. We received complimentary amouse bouches and wine and those were good. The menu is so cute with sexy graphics, I liked that. My friend ordered the salmon which came out cooked raw and they swiftly cooked her another one. I had the beef stew which was really good. The mash potatoes with it was so creamy. The goat cheese wontons were packed with herbs and flavorful. The desserts to try were the crème brûlée. I love when a crème brûlée is not sweet and overpowering with burnt sugar, it was perfect

Make reservations, as this place fills up during peak dinner hours. We arrived for 5:30pm Saturday reservation. By 6pm, every table was full. Service was swift. Food was brought out quickly. Staff were very efficient (not very warm/effusive, which we didn't mind at all, as we enjoyed being left alone). Minimalistic, pleasant, clean ambience. Cocktails were superb: strong and well balanced. We loved the contortionist and the Paloma. If you're drinking this on an empty stomach, you will feel the hit of the alcohol right away. Would order again and return to try other options, gladly. Everything we tasted was delicious. Octopus & potatoes appetizer was delicious, albeit small. Steak tartare appetizer was standard. Nothing to write home about. I would skip this next time. Truffle mushroom & chicken gnocchi was a massive entree that could feed two people and make you feel full and content. Cold weather comfort dish. I'm not a fan of pasta, but this was a well balanced dish with lots of protein and rich sauce to give you those calories to keep you warm on a rainy, chilly night. Wild caught cod was delightful: this is a dish if you don't want to leave full. Very light and small portion of fillet (which was tough, unfortunately). But all the accompanying side ingredients and sauce reduction were novel in a pairing with cod, so I enjoyed all the varying flavors of this dish. Chocolate soufflé was perfectly airy and delightful. Not sweet, which was nice. Very balanced and light. Portion was small, so this isn't the best dessert for sharing. Only one bathroom on premises, so don't wait until the last moment, as there is usually a line. Would return to sample more menu items gladly!

Came here on a Tuesday evening and was shocked to see how quiet this cute spot was. Besides two other tables, we had the place entirely to ourselves. This was a surprise since I hear this spot can get fully booked most evenings. We ordered cocktails, the Camembert, the black garlic gnocchi, and the salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and everything was delicious. I was particularly impressed by the service - The waiters were incredibly attentive. Highly recommend this to anyone in the mood for French food.

What a find! Took a friend here for her bday day, we did Cafe Luluc for brunch, went around Brooklyn and magically ended up a block away from where we first started. This place has very cool with chill vibes, professional service, delicious food and reasonable prices. Happy birthday Cynthia! The food: Octopus a Feira- Sliced Portuguese octopus, potato wedges, cherry tomatoes, smoked paprika, extra virgin olive oil. This was some super tender octopus, the roasted tomato and fingerling potatoes paired perfectly. This an app worth ordering. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=zpjwnv3GGq4n4xGZUKZCsA Zucchini Pancakes- Pan fried blended mixture of shredded zucchini & vegetables, feta cheese patties served with tomato sauce and sour cream. This felt more like an American pancake with zucchini in it since it was a soft pancake. Really enjoyed the flavor on this but I do wish there was some crunchy texture to the pancake. French Fries- Lightly seasoned and fried, served with homemade garlic aioli. These were fried well, not greasy or oily and nicely crunch. The portion on this was really generous. Really good fries. Seabass- Pan seared Mediterranean sea bass fillet served with mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach and finished with chef's special lemon sauce. The dish was excellent, it was our fav dish of the evening. The fish was cooked perfectly as was the spinach. Everything in this dish made sense and the mash was nice and silky, it went nicely with the fish. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=Pr09P6p8YGL18TaBeovKWQ Black Garlic Gnocchi- Potato dumplings tossed in a rich, creamy sauce with fermented black garlic, tender diced chicken breast, mushrooms, Parmesan. Really nice flavor but it does get on the rich side after a few bites. Really loved the texture of the gnocchi, they were so soft and pillowy but the item I wasn't in love with was the black garlic or the chicken breast, the chicken came off dry. The gnocchis themselves were the star. Beef Bourguignon- Tender beef slow cooked in a rich red wine sauce with pearl onions, carrots, mushrooms, and crispy bacon. Served with mashed potato. This dish screams Winter. This was super comforting and very fitting for the cold Winter day that we went. The beef was really tender and the addition of the pearl onions, carrots and mash went really well. I did like this dish but it does come off kinda simple. Creme Brulee- We always order this dish for Cynthia since it is one of her fav desserts. I loved the flavor on the custard but the sugar top was flawed. The sugar layer was way too thin of a layer, if they fixed this detail, this creme brulee would be excellent. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=oqflvRoyCVIEZJpXDJEApw

Levant was a wonderful find! My friends took me here for a birthday dinner and it was an incredible meal! For apps, we shared the Zucchini Pancakes, French Fries, and Octopus A Feira. The Zucchini Pancakes were nicely fried, the endless French fried were perfectly crispy, and the octopus was so flavorful. For entrees, we had the Sea Bass, Black Garlic Gnocchi, and Beef Bourguignon. The Sea Bass was perfectly pan fried and the sauce was delicious. The Black Garlic Gnocchi was very flavorful and gnocchi had such a perfect texture. The Beef Bourguignon was very tender and sauce was flavorful - this probably would be great with pasta. For dessert we shared the Flourless Almond Cake and Crème Brûlée. The Almond Cake reminds like a lot of the Chinese almond cookies. Crème Brûlée was delicious and I would totally order a second one if I had space!!! I thought it was very smart for them to have some espresso grounds in the bottom and the flavor works very well! Love it!

Enjoyed a delicious dinner at Levant for my friend's bday and left very full! We had a $65 prix fixe menu - including two drinks of choice, family style served appetizers (French onion soup, Chicken Croquettes, and salad), selection of mains (Steak Frites, Seabass, Coq au vin, French Onion Spaghetti), and an array of desserts (crème brûlée, cheesecake, almond cake). I really enjoyed The Contortionist - which was a more citrus forward version of a lychee martini. Most of our party got the Steak Frites but I opted for the Seabass - which was very tender and paired very nicely with the sautéed spinach. The Steak Frites were also delicious but a bit charred but still juicy. The atmosphere was very cozy and intimate, perfect for date nights - would love to visit again to try more of their menu!

A solid brunch option! We arrived a few minutes before opening and they were kind enough to let us in. We went with the brunch option for two people for $60, which came with a pitcher of brunch drinks and two main dishes. You could upgrade to some higher-priced entree dishes (like steak and eggs) for an additional $10 per dish. I ordered the oeufs à la turque, which almost felt like a mixed-up shakshuka- it was a tomato sauce-based dish with peppers, onions, eggs, and feta mixed in. This was so comforting and satisfying. It came with fresh, warm bread that our server offered to replenish multiple times. My friend got the croque madame, which was also very good, but the fries were the true star- they were incredible! We also got a pitcher of mimosas. The portions were very generous- the brunch menu option is a really great deal. As a heads up, this is also an extremely family friendly place- we were the only table that didn't have young children.

Cute and quaint bistro in Brooklyn Service was splendid everyone was attentive and polite Decor is clean and chic we felt like we were in a bistro in Paris. Food was delish we ordered the onion soup, mussels, tuna tartare, chicken croquettes, and truffle fries. As well as chocolate soufflé and crème brûlée. All were delicious. We also got to enjoy the Sunset hour 4-6pm. Definitely will be coming back for more.

Let's start with the good (cause it wasn't the food): Service was amazing. We were seated promptly and our server was super attentive. Will not fault them there! Now for the rest of it: You get what you pay for, right? Nope! Not at Levant on Smith haha. I'm so sorry to bash a restaurant because I know how hard this industry is, but yikes. Not a single thing we ordered was seasoned. Everything was bland and flavorless. My partner had the burger and the bun crumbled in his hands. It was clearly stale and toasted beyond salvation. I ordered the French onion pasta. Listen, I'm not a fool. I know the menu said "cooked in a beef broth." However, the menu did NOT say "SERVED in a beef broth." Lolololol they basically took their French onion soup and dumped it on some plain spaghetti. Just a bit of cornstarch and they could've been at least a little closer to a "sauce." Unreal. What a waste of cash. I'm happy to see so many positive reviews because at least I know this review won't destroy them lol Listen ya'll, add some flavor, some salt at least I won't be back to see if anything's changed but maybe you'll bump it up for your loyal and potentially new patrons.

The artistry inherent to French cuisine is tastefully displayed in this restaurant. The food is well balanced; rich but light. The service is a cut above. They filet sole tableside, attend to your every need. Apple profiterole was out of this world!

Nice place to dine on this somewhat Frenchified section of Smith Street. Tasty well-prepafood, friendly service (and quiet, as my group of 6 were there on a rainy Tuesday night, so few other diners), nice wine (at typical restaurant markup).

Everything on the menu looked amazing, so I had the waiter choose my dish/wine pairing and he did a great job! I got the pesto with shrimp. The pasta is handmade and the wine is natural from Italy. Instead of picking a wine from a menu, you tell your server the flavor and mood of wine you're looking for and they bring out glasses or a bottle for you based on that. The food here is delicious and I was happy to see gluten free pasta options. The pork ragu was good but I was truly impressed by how good the texture of the gluten free pasta was. For me, the show stopper was the branzino. It was seasoned perfectly and the potato crust was a fun touch. The salad was nice and simple, but didn't blow me away. Portion sizes were good, though the prices are on the higher side. The restaurant is a great place for a friends' night or date night, and I'd keep the group small or make a reservation in advanced because it gets busy. It is definitely a more expensive spot, but worth it!
