    Ground Beef Burrito (?....)
    Brandy T.

Dont cha hate when you tell someone the food somewhere is delicious and you take them on, what you hope is, an off day. The rice was delicious, beans were good, cheese was on point. It was supposed to be a ground beef burrito. It was bean and cheese burrito with a sprinkling of ground beef. So disappointing. I truly hope it was a fluke and they haven't gone down hill over the past couple of years. I am giving two stars instead of one because I have had them be superb. I will eat there again and rate them again.

    Wet burrito 10/10

The wet burrito here is just peak for me. It's so good. Pollo asado is moist and delicious, burrito is the perfect size, filled with goodness. Enchilada sauce is flavorful, and it's served with a bunch of thin delicious chips. Salsa bar is still in effect too - doesn't get much better.

POST HIGH SCHOOL REUNION LATE NIGHT MEAL Last Saturday night was my high school reunion, which was at Berkeley. The reunion ended at midnight. I enjoyed the dinner for the reunion, but I knew I would be hungry. After the reunion my fellow high school/ college friend and I went to our old stomping grounds at Cal to Telegraph Avenue. He decided to go to Blondie's Pizza; I went to Top Dog. However the line at Top Dog past 1:00 AM was still long. I decided to go to the eatery next door, which was La Burrita. It was a place when I was a student I would eat at times after Cal Football games. I didn't want to order any burrito I've had at other Mexican eateries. I ordered the lengua burrito. Also I ordered the horchata. The lengua I ate at La Burrita isn't pasty or gamey as I've eaten at some Mexican eateries. The horchata was a beverage I needed after the numerous cocktails I drank during my high school reunion. Overall the lengua burrito at La Burrita was ok but it did the job as I was full after a long night.

    Wet Burrito

The OG Mexican restaurant of Telegraph area. First time I had it was about 15 years ago, and on a positive note-- the food is still good! My recent meals include the Wet burrito, the California burrito, and the Super burrito, and my "go to" back in the day was the Philly burrito. I would advise to try something more adventurous than the standard or super burrito if you're going here for a burrito. The California Burrito is excellent, and the Wet burrito was a VERY satisfying meal on a rainy day. I can't speak for the Philly in recency, but it was my post drinking meal when times called for it. You're not getting the most modern trendy food here, but it's solid and filling. It's not overly seasoned like some Mexican places, in other words-- I haven't felt the effects of a "sodium bomb" the day after eating. It's good honest Mexican food and it's not trying to be anything flashy. The indoor seating is limited, but it has a cozy old style atmosphere that's harder to come by nowadays. Like all other restaurants, occasionally things can be a little hit or miss. Overall, it's consistent, and the staff are likable.

Wet Burrito and strawberry agua fresca
    Allison H.

I stumbled upon this restaurant while in Berkeley. I tried the Wet Burrito with steak and got the strawberry agua fresca. The burrito tasted good but it wasn't my favorite kind of burrito. I didn't quite like the red sauce with the cheddar cheese. However, the amount of food given is worth the price. I loved the strawberry agua fresca. It quenched my thirst.

I'm from socal so it's hard to find good authentic Mexican spots, this place is soooooo good and they have bomb burritos! Super quick also, the Hispanic ladies are very sweet :) PLUS the portions are huge and worth the price, always have left overs for two meals instead of one!

#21 Veggie Special and pineapple juice Comes with chips and they have a salsa bar.

I've been here a couple of times and I really enjoy their veggie burrito #21 and their agua de piña (pineapple juice). They provide chips and salsas. My favorite salsa is the one with habanero bits (orange bits). Staff is also really friendly! And they play Mexican music which is nice. This is a cool spot to grab a quick bite.

    Carne Asada Burrito

My daughter found this place while going to UC Berkeley about 12 years ago and it's been our favorite place ever since!! Best burritos I have ever had. The flavor of the meat is to die for. The portions are really large so make sure you're super hungry or share with a friend because chances are you won't finish it! They've got to be good because they've been in business for 30 years. Love You Guys!!

Decent spot for quick Mexican food. TIPS: 1. They have carne asada fries! 2. Order on Snackpass, two locations on Northside and Southside! 3. Open pretty late for some late-night munchies (11 pm). 4. Park far away and walk here, as parking gets rough at night. The carne asada fries are good once in a while, but it is super greasy, so it feels unhealthy to eat. The fries are cooked very well, the cheese is overloaded, and the sauce is great. There is no cilantro, pico de Gallo, or onions on the fries so it does get soggy with no crunch. However, it's great once in a while. The salsa is good, though at the bar and it is unlimited which is great. There are seats for places for sit-in and dining.

La Burrita is my go to place for nachos in Berkeley. The workers are always very kind and are fast with your order. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so if you plan on dining in keep that in mind. They are usually busy during lunch hour with construction workers and in the evenings with students. Like I said, this is my go to place for nachos. I have tried a wet burrito once from here and did not like it, so I stick to what they do well: nachos. The nachos are PACKED and they are t skimpy with the cheese! Their tortilla chips are super thin and crispy which I love. The pico always tastes fresh and the guac is flavorful. They have a self serve salsa station. My go-to is the green salsa. It's not very spicy, which I love! I usually order through snackpass which lists that regular nachos come with pico and jalapeños. Im not sure if this is a mistake but they never add those toppings and I always have to ask for them. Sour cream and guac are extra. I usually add my own sour cream at home for this reason. If you're looking for somewhere to get nachos, go here! Can't say the same for the burritos but the nachos and service never disappoint!

Huevos Rancheros Plate is good with good flavor, but the black beans had no flavors what so ever. 2 Asada Tacos Plate with extra Rice was good, the steak was tender, but again lack flavor and the rice was good. Baja Fish Burrito, you get an option of getting grilled or fried fish, I took the grilled because I figured it would have been seasoned well, I was wrong, again no flavors and same for the black beans. The staff inside had the music blaring so loudly that my friend had to take off her respirator and she's immuno compromised just so they could hear her. These are ableist jerks. I still feel that way, but recently I reserved a table for 4 and two things really stuck in my mind negatively after spending the evening there that wanted to alert the restaurant to. I worked in restaurants for 15 years so I know not every day is your best, and that getting things right is the first priority, not schmoozing, so this isn't about friendliness. The server was fine in terms of checking up on us, but didn't engage our request for recommendations for dinner or wine; no biggie, but when the check came she a) didn't mention that the tip was included, and my generous boyfriend (who wanted to snag the card and pay quickly without letting others get a chance) would have tipped another $80 had I not gotten up from the table and asked whether tip was included. On large checks the server should tell the group immediately not to worry about calculating the tip, and still act like she is earning it by taking good care of the table, refilling wine glasses when we ordered a bottle, etc. what really got me though was when we requested -- she didn't offer-- the remaining food on the table to go, she came with two piles of boxes and put them on the edge of the table. Again, my no-fuss boyfriend said he didn't mind packing the food up, but I think if you spend $450 on a dinner they could at least offer to neatly pack the food to go. It's a chore that I want to leave at home, plus it can be messy. It annoyed me a lot that the money we spent didn't seem to be appreciated and we had to basically clean up our table at the end. Not a good service night. Can you make it a policy to at least offer to pack the food? Comal isn't that type of pandemic restaurant that drops customer service in favor of pretend hygiene, and I just wonder if the standards are slipping or it was just a one off
