The food here is amazing. I tried the fresh rolls which come with tofu, bean sprouts, mint, vermicelli noodle with a super soft, fresh rice paper wrapping and the most amazing chili peanut dipping sauce that has just the slightest hint of heat. If that wasn't good enough, we also tried what the staff called a "thai taco". Not sure which one this is on the menu but this is an absolute must try. It was a small scoop of coconut rice with peanuts, and other fillings wrapped up in a fresh leaf and was so delicious. A perfect blend of refreshing yet savory, I could probably eat 10 of these in one go. The restaurant isn't big - there is probably more outdoor seating than there is indoor seating. The decor has a retro/modern vibe - one of the first things you see as you walk in is a giraffe sculpture holding a chandelier in its mouth, which somehow works with the overall aesthetic of the place. Ingredients were very simple but paired with the sauces, it had such a flavor that I couldn't imagine. Portion sizes were fair and appropriate however, it is definitely on the pricier side. For 3 dishes and no drinks, it costed $80 and these were the cheaper items on the menu. Ambiance: very lovely decorations and very cute aesthetics. Perfect for a date or just a nice lunch. Yum another great Thai place in Berkeley! It's a beautiful spot with indoor and outdoor seating. It's in downtown Berkeley so street parking. I came on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and there was a small wait so they could set up a table, it wasn't crowded. Service was fast and the servers were kind and checked up on us multiple times and refilled waters. I most enjoyed the pad thai and pad see you, both are not spicy but very flavorful. The pad thai was not as sweet as other places which I liked. The yellow curry was good; it was a little spicy and liquidy, not thicker like most places. I would pass on the farmhouse wings, I expected smaller glazed wings but they were more like just big pieces of fried chicken with a side of sauce, not bad though. Forget Imm Thai--this is my new go-to spot for Thai food. From presentation to flavor, everything delivers a solid 10/10. Among the classics, the pad thai was the best I've ever had. I still think Imm Thai does pad see ew slightly better, but this place holds its own. The Thai iced tea is pretty unique with a dome of shaved ice, but I wasn't a fan--it ended up being too watery. The khao soi (a curry noodle soup) is on the pricier side, but the generous pieces of beef short rib are unbelievably tender and completely worth it. The roti mataba also makes for an excellent appetizer--hearty and savory. And the Thai vacation omg...coconut ice cream and blue sticky rice served inside a coconut shell, topped with fresh coconut meat. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best dessert I've ever had. Me and 2 of my friends decided to grab dinner at this location since we were in the area! Parking is tricky...street parking only. We knew reservations are preferred but we walked in and they were full inside but they seated us outside on the heated patio. Drinks were not great the first round but I tried the their version of a Mai Thai and it was great! We ordered their volcano noodle cup, since it seems like that's what everyone comes for. It was extremely flavorful, but could use a lot less salt. My son ordered the special crab fried rice, and he liked it, but for $48.95, it's not that "special". My son's girlfriend had the pad see-ewe, which she said was ok compared to most Thai places that we've been to. I had the seua rong hai, which was on the dry side, since they sliced the meat too thin and overcooked it. I did request to have it medium rare, but the server said that the chef only cooks it one way. How unfortunate because it would've been perfect if cooked medium rare. My husband had the oxtail curry, which was also on the salty side. The only extremely happy person was my daughter because she really enjoyed her anchan flower limeade. My friend and I came here to give this location a try. I've tried both the Jack London and the mission location, and I like them both. At all three of these locations they've always asked about fish allergies. Important, even though I'm not allergic. We came around 2pm on a Saturday and it was busy, but not packed. These were the appetizers: Vegan fresh rolls - fresh tasting Roti mataba - probably my fave appetizer because I love different types of bread. It's an unleavened, soft flatbread used for scooping up curry. I'd eat it on its own. Farmhouse wings - perfectly crispy and seasoned. They never disappoint. Crispy egg rolls - as expected & I was delighted Drinks: I ordered the Lod Chong, which is their version of Pima colada and made with coconut cream. She ordered a non-alcoholic drink. They do have a mocktail menu but it is small. I believe its only three items. Entrees: I ordered yellow curry without any meat. I can't remember what my friend ordered but this was on September 6. We didn't finish our food anyway but it did make for having good leftovers. After we had finished ordering I noticed there was a menu with photos that other guests were getting that we had not. Thinking that menu might've been different, we brought it to our waiter's attention and they brought us one. It was just pictures of their entree items, and though I've been to this chain of restaurants in different locations, I'm not an expert on the menu nor have I ordered everything. I figured that would have been helpful to have from the beginning, as it did take us some time to order and we used our phones to look up some of the items for a pictorial representation. Until it melts, the tea is too bitter and thick to drink and when it does melt, the tea turns too watery. In the meantime, your paper straw will wilt or get clogged up with ice and your drink might overflow if you drink too less. TL;DR Get the thai tea WITHOUT the ice ball. The restaurant is popular. TLDR: It felt like we were really paying for the experience, not the quantity of food. While the flavors are what we expected and were fairly solid, the prices were high for the amount of food we got. We did see another table get the normal dishes, and in hindsight that would have been the better option to split family style. It also didn't help that right after we ordered, this couple walked in, sat down to look at the menu, and then left. They had uttered the same thing that the prices were high for what they were expecting, so they decided to go somewhere else. Food: 3/5 They did nail the flavors, but there really wasn't anything special or different about the dishes that would make me want to go back and pay these prices when there are other thai spots in the area. We got one sampler plate, which in hindsight, we should have just order 2 of these or normal plates. We also had the fried chicken wings, which were solid, but only came with 3 wings. The thai teas were really good and aesthetic, but if you don't drink it fast enough and the shaved ice melts, it will become very watered down. For reference to quantity and price comparison, you can see how much food was and split between 2 people, the price came out to be almost $40 with tax/tip EACH!!! It was also difficult to really give a tip value that we wanted to because the waitress stood there at our table until we finished filling out the tip value. We did do a quick google review to get the free dessert, which was honestly my favorite item lol. It was a coconut granita with vegan coconut ice cream and as a coconut lover, it was super refreshing and very yummy! The waitress did ask to see the review right then and there, but it wasn't really a quick scan to see if you did it. She actually read it, at least that's how it felt. The whole experience was a little odd. First of all, when I walked in immediately the hostess/server asked "oh all alone today?" And made a face... i responded that I had a reservation for 3 because I did. I think it's a bit odd that that's the first thing you say to a customer? Then when we were waiting for our food they brought us another table's order at least three times. Then about 10 min after we got our food the server came and asked if we were done when we all still had over half of our dishes left. She then also took away the pork belly when there was still a piece left so we had to stop her and say that we weren't done. Also was not expecting shaved ice on the Thai iced tea - this and the paper straw made it difficult to drink and prevented me from even getting most of the drink. Lastly my friend got the curry and had to pay $4.50 for rice when either a) the rice should have come with the dish or b) the rice should have at least been cheaper. AND you had to pay extra for meat in the pad see ew which usually comes with meat options for free.... I was really looking forward to trying this thai restaurant for a friends birthday after having been to Daughter Thai in Oakland. We made a reservation ahead of time at 8 pm. However they started turning off the table mini lamps and shutting down at 8:50 and turned the lights brighter making it clear they wanted people to leave. It felt a little rude and rushed for a mid - upscale restaurant. As well the prices were quite a bit higher than all the other fabulous Thai restaurants in the area. A side of peanut sauce is 7$ and the dishes don't come with rice. The spicy eggplant was delightful though and quite spicy. Blue rice tasted just like regular rice but a pretty blue. The shrimp appetizer also had great flavor but the it was not very coconutty. The side of peanut sauce I would not recommend, it was not very peanuty. Overall the other sister restaurants have better ambiance and feel a bit more worth it. read more

Our hostess I think knew that we were going to be miserable and decided on a location change and brought us outside. With the heat lamp it was perfect, and I love her for that. After visiting their San Francisco location and realizing how trendy they have become I personally made it my mission to visit as many locations as possible, and I can proudly admit, with this visit to their newest location in Berkeley, I have visited all four locations in the Bay Area and this location can now be called the jewel of their empire. Taking over what was once clearly a residential home of some sort and for decades was occupied by Dara Thai/ Lao cuisine, the Farmhouse team did a full build out of the building, putting in a new wheelchair accessible entry and building out an impressive deck area that faces the sidewalk along Cedar Street. Entering their newest home newcomers will be so impressed with how modern the new building looks from the new bar on the first floor which also serves as their host stand. Reservations for our party of three people were easy to make on the OpenTable website, and they are one of a handful of restaurants that give points. Sitting outside on their deck under a sunbrella taking in the outdoor vibes of the North Berkeley neighborhood was really nice. The menu at Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine is separated into categories including Starter; Soup; Salad; Special; Thai Street Food including subcategories of Curry, Noodle Soup, Stir Fried; Side; Kid's Menu and Dessert. One of our diners wanted to enjoy their signature Thai Iced Tea which was both creamy and sweet and was served with a huge ball of shaved ice. At $6.50 this was one of the most expensive Thai Iced Teas we have enjoyed. To start our meal, we ordered their Roti Mataba, which was a roti stuffed with curry chicken, potato, onion, cumin and turmeric, and served with a side of pickled cucumber and coconut curry dipping sauce. For our entrées, we split their Pad See You from their Thai Street Food section of their menu, which were your traditional Thai-style flat rice noodles, served with cage free scrambled eggs, carrots, and Asian broccoli, and our choice of the option of chicken which does come at an extra cost of 2 dollars. For our second entrée, we split their Panang Neua, which was a slowly braised bone in Short Rib served in a Panang curry alongside grilled broccolini, bell peppers, onions, and fried basil. It was supposed to be served with a scoop of blue steamed rice, but by the time we were served our entrée, we received a scoop of white steamed rice, we overheard a table next to us ask where their blue rice was, and they patiently waited for it, as our server James was nice enough to bring us an extra plate of blue rice as well. The Roti Mataba was a nice but not the most filling starter, of which our best takeaway was the curry dipping sauce, which we made sure to keep for the rest of our meal. We really enjoyed our Pad See You as the noodles had a nice light cook to it, and was topped with shredded uncooked carrots which gave the entrée a nice flavor. Our Panang Neua was the real star of our meal as the short rib was fall-off-the-bone tender, as the dish proudly declares itself reminiscent of Chef and owner Kasem "Pop's childhood where he cooked a large meal for his entire family. For dessert, Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine has on every table that if you review immediately on Google or Yelp and show it your server you receive a complimentary Kiss Me Coconut dessert, which seems a little suspicious, but I wrote a one sentence review praising their service on Google, showed our server James and we were presented with a scoop of coconut ice cream served on a bed of coconut granita. It was a nice cooling dessert to enjoy on a warm sunny afternoon. Our total bill was $101.83, which was a considerable amount, but we did have both our flat noodles to take home for a nice extra meal for later. The Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine continues to grow and I cannot wait to hear where their next location will be. The community of Berkeley has welcomed them with open arms and I cannot wait to hear where else they will head next because location may be their best yet! read more

I recently ordered takeout from here and it was sooooo good I had to try it in person! and I was blown away! an overall 14/10 experience! the ambiance was lively for a monday night- it was someone's birthday so we all sang along :) food was outstanding yet again. you must order the samosas. the curry that comes with it is the best curry I have ever had. hands down. Nice decor connecting to the outside seating. Seem people in and out quick instead of having a whole dinning outing. We ordered larb, 16.99 and any meat to go with it will be charged extra. I chose Wagu beef for $ 8 , beef is tender but not sure it is wagu. Way too salty, I had to ask some more lettuce to balance it out. Husband ordered red curry with tofu, not worth for amount for 21$ if you call that a main course. The thing is you have to order some carb to go with it. It should have been with the curry order. So the rice was 5$. This dish is also very salty. I read the reviews before, now it is confirmed that their food more into the salty side. I know it is hard these days for restaurants business, but if customers don't feel good after visiting, it is not a good thing. read more
